The employees at Glen Lake Wine and Spirits are really helpful - recently, I walked in and said, "Hey, I'm going to mull some wine, so I want something cheap, dry, and with a good flavor." The guy behind the counter took me to a $6 bottle and said, "This is your wine." Seriously, it happened just like that. And you know what? It was perfect! Protip: When you're browsing the wine section, look for the tags under the bottles that have the employee faces on them. They're usually priced very well - often on sale - and are really well-described. (e.g. "Figgy taste, smooth finish, pairs well with steak.") These folks have the knowledge to be wine snobs, but they're not. They're just as comfortable telling you about the wide variety of local microbrews that they carry, the strange and exotic vodkas (today I saw a buttered popcorn flavored variety!) and the many other alcohols that they carry. Best yet, you're not going to go broke here. Nothing is over-priced. It's inexpensive, reasonable, and great customer service is always included. What more would you want?
