What a fun little toy store! It's hard shopping for toys in person these days when really the only options you have are Walmart and Target. I miss the days of Toys "R" Us. But this little toy store is a nice breath of fresh air. It's a smaller store, but it has lots of unique toys for all different ages. We came in here looking for a few small gifts for a school gift exchange and found lots of fun things. My son picked out a magnet toy and my daughter sound some watermelon pink slime. And our 2 year old found a wooden Thomas Train he didn't have. And surprisingly, they had Pokémon cards which my son appreciated. I hope they continue to carry sports and Pokémon cards because it's always fun taking my kids to pick out cards, rather than just buying online. The store manager was super sweet and helped. She explained their exchange policy if a Bruder toy broke and how they'd get the part for free for you. She was also open to suggestions of other toys to carry I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a toy, give them a shot. I'm sure you'll find something. Love this store! We have been going to this store for about 12 years. They were once in CM but move to Escondido Mall. I was at the store with my almost two year old and two of the staff followed us everywhere we went as if we were going to steal something. There were another 5-10 people in with only three total staff members but two of them kept following me and my son. My son loves trucks and being in the store brought him joy and I made sure he treated everything respectfully, but it's a shame that respect was not reciprocated. Will not go back again. read more

It's a cute little toy store that I absolutely adore! I've always loved their selection of toys, they feel handpicked by people who know what good toys are (pros of it being a small business), unlike big corporations looking to just make money on crappy products.They also wrap the toys for free! 15 years back we started frequenting Ms. Cindy's great toy store, when located in Poway. For a good number of years we visited store to buy the latest and greatest of Thomas the train items fir my son. Today, 15 years later I find myself back at the Toy Depot now buying Thomas the Train sets for my 2 year old godson. And yes, the wonderful ms. Cindy still there. Good selection of toys but I had an issue with one of their policies. My 10 year old daughter saw a ukulele she wanted to try. She'd been playing a couple months now and when she went to play she realized it was severely out of tune. I then went on my phone to use the tuner app I have and I started to tune it The sales lady comes up and says "Sir please don't tune that" I was taken back at first on why she would say that. I'm wondering "how am I supposed to know how it sounds?" So I simply ask "why?" She says "no sir. It's for the child that wants to buy it and take it home and they learn to tune it" I'm like "uhhhh I can untune it after Im done." She says "Please don't tune it" That's the stupidest policy I've ever heard and walked out shaking my head in disbelief Do you not try on shoes before you buy them? Do you not try in clothes? Mind you this was not a toy ukulele. This was a ukulele priced at 40 dollars!!! It was actually a really nice ukulele which is why I was surprised it was in this toy store. Great selection of various toys, not just Thomas the Train engines. Though this place definitely has the largest selection I've seen of Thomas & Friends anywhere! My nephew LOVES Thomas & Friends and is always excited to go in the toy store when we're here in north county mall. He can stay here for hours!!! Very rude staff. We used to like to take our toddler to their store and let her play. We appreciate the fact that they seem to have higher quality toys, many with an educational base. Every time we went in, we would buy something for our toddler. In the back of the store they have an opened room that looks like it would be a dressing room or an extension of the store itself. The area is not blocked off and there are no signs. They have several large stuffed toys that cost an arm and a leg sitting in open view for any child to see or play with. My toddler loves to run back there and see the large plush toys. The plush Elmo or Cookie Monster looks larger than life to her and she adores it. The past two times we went in, Chrissy, sees our toddler bee line to the plush toys, run up to it, and give it a big hug. Chrissy removes the toy from my daughter and refuses to allow her to see it. I get it, it's expensive and they are trying to sell it. But what's the harm and letting my toddler hold her life sized hero in her arms for five seconds? Is it really that big of a deal? Especially if it's open for the public to get and they leave toys out for kids to play with and try before buying. This actually isn't the reason for the bad review, after Chrissy takes the toy away, she followed us around the store. She stalked us as if we were criminals and going to steal from her. It became so awkward we left the store. SHE CONTINUED TO FOLLOW US UNTIL WE WENT INTO ANOTHER STORE. She did this the last two times we came in. It's obvious she is following us and not trying to sell us on something. All of their stuff is available on Amazon and you won't be treated like a criminal. read more

Today while I was browsing the toys with my toddler, an employee entered (around 3:00) and loudly announced to her coworker across the store that she felt horribly ill and that her allergy medications didn't seem to be alleviating her symptoms. Employees shouldn't report to work when sick, especially with COVID cases on the rise once again. read more

The store name is deceiving. We walked by this place a million times thinking it was all Thomas the Train toys. We were looking for Kendamas and did a google search and found out this store carries them. Say what? So we went to check it out. This place is like Kendama central! They have mini, regular, and jumbo Kendamas in different brands (Sweets, Tribute, and Kendama USA) as well as Kendama trick books and extra strings and gadgets. We definitely had a great selection to choose from here. I wandered the store and noticed they had lots of fun different toys. They had a birthday card rack as well. I didn't see gift wrap or gift bags and that would have been handy for sure. But there is a Target in the mall so we just bought a gift bag there. The employees were friendly and helpful. They even told us about a special Kendama event they were having the next day (the Sweets developers were going to be at the store). Prices seemed to be in line with other stores (not overpriced). Still super impressed with Totally Thomas and I come here for all our birthday party gifts and look here first for gifts for my kids. They're selection is unlike any I've seen. They have so many toys I've never seen before but all the usual suspects as well. I'm especially excited that they have lots of toys that stimulate learning and unique brain building as well as LOTS of creative art products. My kids are four and two now and every time I'm in I find soooo many things I'd love for them to have. The customer service is still top notch also. The customer service was impeccable. I was greeted right away and the lady at the front desk helped me find what I was looking for right away. She gave insight on toys and answered all of my questions because I was unsure of what to get for my Godson's birthday. Although the appropriate age group each toy is made for is given on the front of the box, she knew exactly which ones I would be interested in. Uncle Goose Blocks are the best kind of block. My kids grew up with these 20 years ago. My niece used to play blocks with my kids, and now I get to give the block set to her 1 year old baby girl. I'd have to say that this is one of the most unique toy stores I've been to. It's not your ordinary toy store at all. They sell a lot of modern and also old fashioned toys that you will not find at a Toys R Us. Not only do they have a great selection of Thomas the tank engine products, but they have a lot of great educational toys, games, and products for kids of all ages. Be sure to check out this gem in the North County Escondido Westfield shopping center. I was helped by Loisel and she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with all of my questions. This store was my sons favorite place to go. We were in for a long time and we saw many different Thomas items. My son looked around for a while and then the employee got him a box and it was filled with many different kinds of trains and he got some of them. We paid and my son was so touched. My daughter loves the squishes some are scented and smell great she used her b day money and thought it was a little pricey one squishy was 15.99 and the other one was 14.99 that she got she does not really recommend the crazy Aaron's thinking putty it was 3.99 for a mini and it is hard,but good service and fun toys. read more

They have a great selection of toys, educational toys and a frequent buyer program. They can order in items that they don't have if it's on their website. Their sales people are very helpful. This store has a lot of cool toys. But unfortunately I was being watched like a hawk as if I was going to steal. They asked me if I need helped about 10 times and basically followed me and my husband around. We did have a stroller but it was clean and You could tell there was nothing in it. Purchased a $36 kendama for my sons birthday, opened up the box and it wasn't put together very well and almost looked used. Tried to just trade it in and was told this store does not warrenty anything they sell. They told me it was because the manufacture will not take returns, however I contacted the manufacture and found out that was not true.So buy at your own risk. Anything wrong with it and they accept no responsibilty. Very dissapointing. read more

Totally Thomas used to be my favorite place to go with my two little ones and my husband. They would love to play at the table while I would look for toys to buy them. However, every time I go, one of the employees (Chrissy) seemed hostile and suspicious of my every move and want to see where I'm going and what I pick up and consider buying. I don't recommend coming here, it's overpriced. I'd rather go to target, which is a couple stores down to your left. As a children's store, I would think that the greeter would be kind and helpful to not only me but to my kids as well. My son even said "mommy why is that lady looking at me evil?" All concerned and scared. I think she needs to work on her her attitude and the way she treats her coworkers in front of customers, because more than once I have seen her be rude to cashiers and give looks that could kill. I don't think that's a comfortable environment to work in, and for the workers as well. Totally Thomas should consider hiring a new manager. I feel sorry not only for the staff, but to onlooking customers as well. read more
