Looking for a super dive bar to visit while in Ketchikan? This is it! Popped in as part of our public crawl while in port from our cruise. Bartender was super friendly, and drinks were cheap. They had a $2 special that my husband ordered and I got a local lager. We even had a pigeon friend pop in to check out the popcorn on the floor. If you want a dive bar, this is a great stop

Another favorite local bar with their version of a long island iced tea. This was actually pretty good. Standard brews on tap along with a full bar. Friendly owners made the visit all the more special. Popcorn available to snack on. Also some local history with actor John Wayne.

The atmosphere is fantastic. Try the pretzel, it's warm and crunchy with homemade mustard. Shelly, our bartender, was witty and on the money. The beer is cold and delicious.

Divey but nice. Friendly people at The Totem Bar.

This is not a tourist bar by any means, but as a tourist my wife and I were treated great by the locals when we visited. Divey atmosphere, perfect for Ketchikan. Spicy Bloody Mary's served up by a friendly bartender. Met a local Native American at the bar and she filled us in on the history of the bar, locally owned for 52 years. She even spoke some of her native language for us! Loved this place, don't be nervous trying local places. Give it a try!

Stop by, meet a local, play your favorite song, and catch a game. The bartender hustles. She was very helpful when I was looking for a Truly but hate the cherry flavor. Popcorn usually magically appears in front of you. They have an awesome Mandalorian pinball machine & a pool table.

Had an amazing time here with a few locals. The bartender Kray was very nice and welcoming. Drinks were cheap and we got a Kombucha spiked drink recommended by our bartender. Looks like Rosé but it was very very good w/ a 7% alcohol content. One of the locals bought us tons of pull tabs and my friend and I had the time of our life. If you are ever in Ketchikan and want to spend time with locals this bar is very much worth it. I loved the vibe here better than Arctic Bar.

We had a great time with Jen in our cruise stopover. Fun bar with lots of great drinks. Very Alaskan!

Five stars! Juan was awesome! We had a little time to kill on a cold rainy afternoon before our cruise ship left and we found the Totem bar. I'm sure glad we did. This place was cozy. Juan the bartender offered great local beers at an affordable price. He was very welcoming. Stop in if you want a quick drink with local vibes. We loved Ketchikan and hope to be back again someday. Thanks Juan!

The Totem bar in Ketchikan was one of the drinking stops we made during our port day. It's a typical dive bar with dark interior and questionable patrons. We wandered in asking for a Duck Fart which is a local Alaskan creation. It's a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream, Kahlua, and Crown Royal layered into a shot. As we were curious, we drank it in Ketchikan, just to say we had tried it. The bartender was friendly and the service was fast. The bar opens at 8 am until 2 am. As it were, we were drinking before noon. Not a bad place to check out for cheap drinks.

Spent a cool December evening at the Totem Bar while on a quick trip to Ketchikan. Had every thing I needed that night; ice cold beer, warm bar stool, and great pool table. Bartender was very friendly and brought our drinks quickly. Highly recommend this spot if staying in Ketchikan.

There's a number of reasons to visit this unique bar in Ketchikan. Its history comes from the…read morefamily that owns it. You can read about that history on their website. They have a big collection of old ship and shipwreck photos decorating the walls. I also saw what looked like an antique painting of gamblers in the Gold Rush period, as well as some old historical memorabilia. It was like walking into a different time period with all the décor and wood paneling. We had a choice of a beer or a cocktail. We chose the Sourdough Mule. Apparently, tequila and ginger pair well together. It was good, but I liked the Bear Skat shot the best. Who knew that Blueberry Vodka would make such a big difference in the flavor? My husband really liked the Butt Hole shot. I didn't get to try it, but he said it was pretty good. We didn't get to stay long. It was our last pub crawl stop. By that point, we were all a little buzzed before heading back to Ward Cove. Thankfully our tour operator was our designated driver. It was a great time spent in Downtown Ketchikan!

The distillery tour, which is the focus of this updated review, was 2.5 hours long and was an absolute pleasure to attend. Travis, one of the two co-owners, did a great job of mixing in the historical aspects of his distillery, with the science of how the distilling process works while mixing in his own down home humor to make for an excellent excursion. As part of this tour you get to taste all the products Uncharted make, which includes numerous Gin, Vodka, Agave and whiskey products while Travis is giving his presentation. Upon completion of his presentation we went upstairs to the "lab" to make our own personalized bottle of liquor where I ended up making an orange colander Agave. Such fun! If you have any interest in the distilling process and have ever wondered how liquor is made you should definitely give this excursion some strong consideration as you will not be disappointed. As Travis added so much to this experience, I would strongly suggest you try to coordinate the tour when he is available. Definitely worth the price of admission (:

I was also hoping for a tasting flight, because if you have been to my house, you know I have an extensive bar and most of my bottles are from small batch distilleries. No flights- so we had morning cocktails! It's vacation, no judging~ I had a very strong old fashioned, John enjoyed his gin cocktail and he also tried their on tap root beer! Loved the atmosphere! And yes, I bought LaDonna's book for my grandbabies!
