    Plain udon ($7.95)
    C. H.

We stopped by for lunch before heading over to the mall to do some shopping. Menu was available by QR code and we ordered a number of items. We ordered a Japanese soda, Tsawwassen Set, plain udon, salmon oshi, toro aburi and hotate aburi. The restaurant was very child friendly. We had a child's cup, cutlery and plate dropped off. We had a teapot and tea cups for the adults. Food arrived after a short wait. This was one of the better Japanese dining experiences I have had in recent memory. The quality and presentation was great for the price. The Tsawwassen Set was a good lunch combo and offered a bit of everything. There was a choice of chicken or beef teriyaki plus miso soup, sashimi, California roll, tempura, and ebi sunomono. The salmon oshi was made well too and was super tasty. The aburi was also fresh and nicely prepared. Plain udon was alright. I ordered it for my child because he loves noodles. Service was great. Our server stopped by regularly to refill our teapot and clear dirty dishes. COVID precautions were in place. Staff wore face masks. Vaccination passports were checked. Hand sanitizer was available.

Chirashi Don . Fresh sashimi in premium sushi rice

Was surprised that this got 5 stars review across the board so has to check it out on my way home from point Roberts. Had the chirashi Don and the ingredients are fresh, good presentation. Their sushi rice is high quality and they use low sodium soy sauce. And the Tamago !!!! It's the best I had. It was sweet and has a hint of sake and good balance. You can tell this was made in-house with care About 15-20 seating only but service was fast Will come back for sure. If you're in the area, definitely worth a visit

An awesome sushi addition to the Tsawwassen area. Toto has been open for the last 6 months and is a small family owned restaurant. My mom and I came in on a Friday night unexpectedly after seeing that Thai Isaan was closed. Such a blessing in disguise! Like I said, the restaurant is small - there are a few booths and standalone tables, but this definitely isn't a place to bring a large group. But, that's okay. My mom and I were able to get a big booth to ourselves since the restaurant wasn't busy. This a family restaurant through and through - the mom, dad, and son were all back in the kitchen preparing the food, and the daughter was out at the front, greeting, seating, and taking orders. It was really cool to see the whole family hard at work. My mom and I ordered a few things to share: + Miso soup + Oyster tempura w/ mayo dip + Paradise roll (deep fried cali roll w/ wakame seaweed on top) + Sweet Mango roll (mango cali roll) + Crunch roll (tempura/dynamite roll w/ crispy tempura flakes) We were so impressed with the flavour and presentation of all the dishes! I really loved the oyster tempura in particular because I've never seen that at other Japanese restaurants in the city. I also really liked their crunch roll because it had 3 different sauces and every bite was flavourful. We even used the leftover tempura flakes and put them on top of the other rolls. No tempura flake left behind! Thank you for the delicious oyster tempura and crunch rolls, Toto! I think you've became my favourite sushi restaurant in the area.

Double ordered the roll on the left because it sounded amazing and it did taste amazing too

This has got to be one of the best in the neighbourhood. I've done both takeout and eat in. The service is amazing and it is a nice little family owned restaurant. Sushi and sashimi tasted really fresh and was done really high quality. I really admired the presentation of the dishes. Their toro was sooooo good it melted in my mouth. I tried multiple specialty rolls and they were all really worth it for the price. I wish I took more pictures but I ate all the food before I could. I'll definitely be back!

Made the meal even more appealing (we eat with our eyes first as they say). We ordered the following: Spouses order: The Tuna & Salmon sashimi was fresh and looked amazing (as weird as that may sound). Grilled salmon cheek was perfection. Sunomono salad was delicious & refreshing. Cream cheese/mango/avocado roll also amazing. My order: Agadashi Tofu (spicy) was delicious, coating was light & crisp. Was happy to see that they didn't slather it with the sauce but served on the side. Gyoza (pork) were delicious and I quite enjoyed the filling. Kimchi Tofu was out of this world and I would definitely order it again. Look forward to going back and exploring the menu, a lot of good things to choose from.

The ambiance felt warm and well organized with comfortable seating and a nice setup that made it a pleasant place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was good as well. I especially loved the mango avocado tempura rolls because they were light, crispy, and refreshing. The miso soup tasted comforting and flavorful, and the beef tataki bowl was also good. We ended up ordering quite a bit of food along with some sake and everything was served nicely. The only thing I did not enjoy as much was the veggie gyoza because the filling tasted a bit unusual to me. Overall, we had a pleasant experience dining here. It is very important for restaurants to maintain genuine pricing while continuing to serve quality food that makes customers want to come back again, and I hope they continue to maintain both their pricing and quality.

I missed some of my favourites from Ekoya, but so far I was introduced to new menus which became our favourites like the Chicken Nanban. Sushi Gurume have aesthetically beautiful platings and I like their special rolls such as Mr. Big Roll and Grouse Mountain. Their menu has many options, so far, the foods we tried were delicious from appetizers, salads, soup, rolls, bento boxes and desserts. Their sashimis are fresh and their lunch set plenty. Overall, they have great service and plenty of delectable menus to choose from. If you're in South Delta, visiting Centennial Beach, Tsawwassen Mills or coming from the Ferry, Sushi Gurume is just minutes away from these spots check them out.

The tempura was also cold and mushy - tempura should be hot and crispy. The skin on the chicken was rubbery - deep fried chicken should be crispy? My husband took the meal back to show them what we received and was told - " just don't order from us then" really ? Any restaurant that doesn't care how their food tastes should not really be in business. To me that says you do not care about your customers at all. lickily we have several other Japanese restaurants in town so we will never have to order there again. Trust me any other restaurant we have is 100% better than what this place true to pass off as "Japanese food". Please try the other restaurants near you before you order there slop they at serving people. ps - I had to pick 1 star. to post his but my rating would be 0
