With 6 sushi places in a square mile, it should be obvious that customer service be top notch. Not so here, messed up my order and when I called they didn't know what to do so they said they would call me back. 20 mins pass and I called them only to be ignored. I went here twice and the first time was a good experience that convinced me to come in for a second time. It's takeout only currently and the employees were very busy answering calls in both visits which may be jarring to some people. I got the katsudon in the first visit and would recommend it. The portion size was great and it was well seasoned although I found it to be too heavy on the rice and the pork was not crispy. The second visit I got the chicken teriyaki (which appeared beautiful) but was shocked by how bland it was. Once again, the chicken had no crisp but there also wasn't a hint of salt or sugar in the teriyaki sauce/chicken. It was unbelievably tasteless which is disappointing considering how good the katsudon was. Both dishes are $9.50 but the chicken teriyaki is not worth that price. I really wanted to come back for a third visit to try their oyakodon but the chicken teriyaki don has unfortunately convinced me to take my business elsewhere. Gogo Sushi has kind, accommodating employees who are trying their best to handle in-person customers while answering calls but they do seem a little overwhelmed. Overall, I don't have an issue with their service (katsudon took 10 minutes to make while chicken teriyaki don took 5 minutes) but the food is a hit or miss. read more

Go-Go has a soft spot in my heart. Go-Go was the first sushi restaurant to open in Ladner and therefore was my first introduction into "sushi". They are by no means anything like the more upscale Maguro sushi or the casual in-house dining of Ladner Sushi, but Go-Go offers up a niche experience that has kept them in business since 1995. First of all, don't eat in. Go-Go sushi is called GO-GO for a reason. TAKE IT AND GO. Secondly, their sushi is the equivalent to the McDonald's of sushi: It's quick, dirty, abundant, and delicious. No where else in town will you find rolls as huge and as cheap as they are at Go-Go, which makes it the perfect takeout spot for large party orders if you're looking to feed a big crowd. My personal favourites are the deep fried kani (crab stick) roll, the sunomono salad, and the chicken wings. The chicken wings have been the same for like 20 years and they are insanely delicious. A lot of locals and visitors alike choose to rag on Go-Go because it's kind of run down, in an older part of town, and certainly can't compete with Maguro, Mt. Fuji, or Ladner Sushi. I say forget those jerks and let Go-Go spread it's super cheap, giant-rolled, deep fried wings and fly on over here because I'm hungry for a yam roll the size of my head and only Go-Go can deliver. read more

This tiny spot in Ladner Village serves up fresh, tasty and creative sushi; nigiri, rolls and sashimi. Wild salmon is featured in their specialty rolls. Also on offer are sumptuous udon and tempura. A crane is needed to lift the generous lunch boxes. Grass Roll ($5.99) is my current fave. Plump rolls of perfect rice with crab and avocado, topped with seaweed salad just makes me drool at my desk. My colleagues have ordered, and enjoyed, Yam Tempura topped with avocado and crab meat and the Sunshine Roll, crab and avocado topped with yam tempura. This Mom and Pop shop, which opened for business in 1998, is popular with locals, and a "Go-Go" to place for take out. Located west of the Delta Museum on Delta Street, lots of street parking. This review is more of a suggestion/complaint to the owner/manager... I've been going to Go Go Sushi for a very long time, probably 12-15 years, and have always had a special appreciation for the large size of their (nigiri) sushi. I went there 3 weeks ago for the first time in 2-3 years, and was very disappointed to find the size of the tuna and salmon had shrunk literally by half. I always order the same thing, the salmon and tuna combo, and it's super obvious that it really is waaaay, way smaller now. For comparison I suggest the manager of Go Go visit Bonzai Sushi in Richmond on Westminster Avenue near #3 Road, get their salmon and tuna combo to go, bring it back to Go Go, and compare the two side-by-side. Again -this is more of a suggestion to the manager of Go Go Sushi because I really would like to start going back and calling it my favourite once again. Plus... I live in Ladner and don't wish to drive all the way into Richmond just for sushi! :-) I hope the manager at Go Go reads this. If you know them perhaps you can forward this to them. I was craving salmon yesterday, so hubby and I went to our favourite local little sushi dive. Had the best salmon teriyaki rice bowl! There was a lot delicious perfectly cooked moist salmon pieces. The salmon, which there was plenty to cover the entire bowl was grilled perfectly allowing a slight crispy texture one one side. This added a most delightful texture and flavour to the bowl. The teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet and the perfect amount used. My few criticisms would be to add more veggies, less rice and topped with toasted sesame seeds would have made this bowl a 5 star meal for me. However for $12.95, it was amazing, filling and I am jonesing for it again! Maybe I can request less rice and more veggies? My hubby ordered his favourites chicken yakisoba and the deep fried chicken roll. He tried my salmon and agreed it was very good. Next time, I will take a photo. It was just so good that I didn't think to take a photo! read more

If you're in the village of Ladner and it seems eerily familar, don't be surprised. The village has been a backdrop for many MOW's, Features, commercials etc. If you need to grab a quick sushi , and you're on a tight budget, go 2 go-go. The interior is not worth mentioning, at least you can sit on the high stools and gave out onto the historic vista (?). Help yourself to the green tea in the large coffee urn while your waiting. The staff is super nice, at first I was nervous because I usually don't eat Japanese food cooked by other Asian countries (would you eat a burger at a Chinese restaurant) ...but they proved me wrong. Again, not the top rung of the ladder, but definately worth what you are paying for. It's fresh, and (usually) fast take-out. read more

Probably one of the best sushi places I have been to in ladner area. Rolls are tasty, nigiri/sashimi are nicely cut and taste fresh.(I only eat salmon and tuna/tuna belly regularly) I love how they do their spicy tuna rolls, personally think there is some sesame oil in there mixed in. Unlike alot of other sushi places that just squeeze some hot sauce and call it a day. Combo deals are great here. Nicely priced roll combos are like my go to source of lunch almost everyday when I do work near by. You can get full easy around $8-$15 dollars depending on how much you crave. (it's usually $12 for me because I eat a lot) This restaurant is really a order to go place because of it's compact interior which is often times hard to maneuver because of all the people lining up to order or pickup their lunches. They do their best to serve but that's not their specialty, just focus on their food and you should be happy with a full stomach. read more

At best, this is just a fast in/out sushi dive for a quick bite IF you're not very picky about your sushi. Otherwise, there are at least 3 other much better sushi places within walking distance, staring with Ladner Sushi. read more

Always great quality sushi, fast service, and fair prices. To order at the resteraunt, you do have to pay ahead of time at the cash register, and the resteraunt isn't the fanciest joint in town, so be aware of that before you go. However, the staff is nice and friendly and I definitely don't mind this. I typically get served in five to fifteen minutes, and you can have some complimentry tea or water while you wait, or pick up one of the papers littered around. The rolls of sushi are great quality for the price, while the japanese food is satisfactory and comes in large portions. The teriyaki rice bowl would be my recommendation, it's flipping HUGE! I would always recommend coming here for sit-down or pickup services. read more

I absolutely LOVE this sushi! Some of the best sushi I have tasted and great prices! I go here quite a bit and they have always been friendly. They could maybe do some renos on the inside and make it look a bit more classy but the rolls are delicious!! Every time my husband and I have ordered we have loved it and been impressed! The sushi is so fresh here! WE have never been disappointed and I have tried alot of sushi! I would say best place in Ladner! read more

We love GoGo Sushi! It is delicious, fast and inexpensive. Our son gets sushi there every Friday night they know his order and are very welcoming. Their sushi is very comparable to Vancouver's way more expensive sushi. read more
