The service has been great. Kaitlyn is really sweet and super helpful. I like the music playing. They have heaters outside so we don't get cold. Plenty of distance and space. The food was good. Terrible, terrible, terrible!!!! I ordered take out on my long road trip and it took them over an hour to make one order of quesadillas?! Then it was cold, onions and peppers not cooked through and cheese not fully melted. The tortilla was soft and oily! It was absolutely disgusting! The wait staff didn't know what they were doing. They had a bus boy seating guests. There was no manager to be found. People were standing around and customers were upset. NEVER EVER GO HERE! My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our journey home. It was in close proximity to I95. I can't wait to return. Waitress was quick to bring water and get us started with our drinks. Waited maybe 3 or 4 mins for my beer which she recommended and my wife's Margarita. Both were good enough for a second. Food was brought out quickly and was very tasty. Cooked to our request. Ugh! This was our 3rd time eating at Toucan Ale House. Service was annoyingly S L O W on our 2 most recent visits despite only 50% occupancy. Last night (Wed., 6pm), we sat for 7 minutes before our server Darius came to take our drink order. He had only one other table to service while we waited for him to social with staff & bus 2 tables. It was 14 mins til we got our tap beers. I watched him get our beers at the side of the bar, but then stood there to chat yet again while holding our beer glasses. Kudos to kitchen for fast food prep and prompt, polite food runner. My grilled chicken club sandwich ($12) with bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, red onion and mayo was delicious, outstanding! Best I've eaten in a long time. However, hubby's fish & fries ($12) were NOT good. The 2 pcs of breaded fish were a bit cold inside, as if not fried long enough. Was it frozen fish? He wasn't happy with his meal. But we were ghosted again by our server during our meal. Then waited a while to get our bill and for return of charge card & receipt (but no pen to sign it). Little irritations matter. Darius & staff need more training and supervision as there's slow service and a lot of staff socializing happening. Came here numerous times with good company and decided to try different items each time. 1. Fried catfish sandwich (I believe) with mustard green. The fish itself was cripsy and tender, but trying to fit that big fish and bread into my mouth was a challenge. The mustard was so so, nothing special. 2. Chicken picatta: This was actually pretty darn good and it caught me off guard! I would definitely recommend ordering this! 3. Key lime pie: Tarty and cheesy, just the way I like it. 4. This restaurant is not allergy friendly. Ordered potato skins without bacon and when my parties food arrived the potato skins did not arrive. After my group was halfway done with their meal the potato skins arrived with bacon. After reminding the server that this was ordered without bacon she took it back and returned with the same potato skins with some of the bacon removed and an added layer of cheese on top. I would not recommend to anyone looking for good service or food, especially if you have any allergies. read more

I was never disappointed The wings have great flavor that has spice to them but it isn't an overwhelming spice that hides the flavor of the wings. The bourbon chicken was very good. It is smothered with a Guinness based bourbon sauce and onions and peppers. I got it with fried okra that was crunchy and tender. The burgers are absolutely huge. Well flavored and well cooked. It is difficult to finish any of their entrees because they are so large. Which is not a bad thing since they made for good leftovers. When I ate in instead of taking it back to my room the service was always good. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff.
