The admin staff were very attentive and helpful. it was a pleasure interacting with them. The CT equipment seems to be fairly new and kept quite clean. *wheelchair users beware* The ct scan machine was not wheelchair accessible. They had no plan for how to assist a wheelchair user to get their scan. This was an important scan that I waited a month to get scheduled for and now I have to wait even longer and suffer the indignity of having to find an accessible CT scan. This felt borderline illegal by Ada law standards for a business. I filled out a lot of previsit paperwork, they paid for an Uber to come get me from my house, all of this had wheelchair user written all over it, yet I get to the room for the scan and I'm asked to stand up from my chair and get on a machine that is shoulder height to me. This was frankly embarrassing to me and the staff who could have told me ahead of time they did not have a way for me to use the machine. After the visit, I had to call up to the business to make sure my deductible was refunded due to no services being able to be performed. The billing g department told me to go back to the office in person to ensure the deductible was refunded. (5-8 business days to get the money back btw). So I called back to the robot line and acted as I needed to reschedule my appointment just to talk to a helpful csr, who was able to confirm my deposit got refunded. So total impact: wasted my time scheduling this place a month out, wasted my day getting embarrassed at their facility, and I get to float a big bill for 5-8 days before I see my money back in my account. First: Enter off Thunder Creek,  not Jollyville. There is no entrance on Jollyville.  One great thing about Touchstone is that they perform MRIs on Saturdays. I found check in to be very easy, and the waiting room very pleasant. When I was brought to the back for my MRI, my technician was professional yet kind and made the experience go smoothly. I should also note, the changing rooms have lockers to place your clothes/belongings in, and you keep the key. In all, this is a solid place to go for your imaging needs. read more

Upon arriving with a referral order from my primary physician and full coverage through my PPO insurance, I expected a smooth experience with a simple $40 copay. However, it quickly became apparent that the front desk was determined to complicate matters by insisting on categorizing me as receiving "outpatient services," which would have significantly increased my out-of-pocket expenses to an outrageous $383 deductible. Despite presenting my physician's written imaging order and engaging in multiple discussions with the front desk staff, they persisted in their misguided approach. It took considerable time and effort, including lengthy phone calls between my insurance provider and the clinic, to rectify the situation. However, even after this resolution, the front desk staff conveniently disappeared, leaving me to wonder if their absence was intentional to avoid further accountability. It was evident that the front desk's actions were not only confusing but also seemed designed to inflate costs and inconvenience patients. Their tactics were unbecoming of a professional medical facility and left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. I urge potential visitors to be cautious when dealing with the front desk at Touchstone Imaging. Ensure that you advocate for yourself and clarify your insurance coverage and procedure details, as their approach may not always align with your best interests. My experience serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting the importance of vigilance and assertiveness in navigating such situations. I have successfully completed my imaging through another provider (not Touchstone). Just awful!! Had an appt for a sits test. Called to confirm and told me they have the pills there. When I came they said they discontinued the pills over a month ago. So I drive an hour in the rain for no reason and they definitely don't have their stuff together. read more

I suspect this business's existence is either a medical insurance scam, or, best case, they're completely inept. I received orders for an MRI in 2024 that were sent to Touchstone Imaging, and they cancelled on me *4 times* over a five month period with the excuse that their "machines were down for routine maintenance." I can get it once, maybe twice, but not four times. Something's up. if you've shared any kind if similar experience, inform your medical provider so that they'll stop using Touchstone for their imaging needs. read more

Discriminated (Front desk Terri?) and needlessly harassed/delayed me over white patients. 1. Failed to follow safety protocols, did not inform of a contrast agent interaction with a medication I was on, failed to reschedule the exam to avoid a potential life threatening reaction. 2. Did not use any radiation shields to protect other areas of the body from the CT XRays. 3. Used 4x the intensity of Xrays, for over 10-15 rotations. odd midsternal sensation noted on the table. Severe gastritis about a week later lasting a month and a half. 4. The CTDI & DLP report showed that the tech took 5 series of scans and reported only 3. The dose was 1083 mGy-cm of XRay radiation while the reference level was 400 mGy-cm. This is atleast 2.5 times over exposure to X-Ray radiation. If the unaccounted series are also included, it would be a significant over exposure. 5. 1873 images seem to have been taken for a 15 cm section with 3mm slices. Normal number should have been about 80 images w/wo contrast. XRay intensity applied was 350ma/120KV while the safe level due to radiation sensitivity of the Thyroid is about 150mA. 6. The tech's name (Tony) was not to be found on the list of licensed techs for this facility on the TMB site. He was unfamiliar with the contrast agent ( Omnipaque) and its interaction with the medication listed on the screening form. 7. The CT scanner was an outdated GE 16 slice which was introduced in 1998 and available in the market for 35K $. 8. Informed me of my portion after checking with my insurance and took 250$ (10%) on the day of service, billed 85$ frivolously after taking the remaining (2250) 90% from the insurance. read more

I've wanted to write this review for a long time, but I've been hesitant to do so under emotional duress. Its been about a year since I came to touchstone to have my mri with contrast (brain). Overall I had a pleasant experience with staff. They were friendly, punctual, and organized. It was also the most affordable mri I could find. My issue is not with the facility or staff, but with the contrast agent used in MRIs called Gadolinium. Before getting the contrast you need to sign a waiver that says that patients with kidney problems can have issues clearing Gadolinium out of their bodies. I had just had a physical and blood tests showed kidneys were working perfectly. But 4 hours after my MRI, my hands and feet started burning (they've never done this before in my 30 years of life). The burning got progressively worse until it felt like someone was pressing hot irons against my skin. This persisted day and night for 45 days. As I did research I found out there are thousands of people who have had much worse and much more severe and debilitating symptoms from Gadolinium than I did. People who went from perfectly healthy to bedridden for over a year, and people who have had a dozen or more of these injections and suffer decades of pain as a result. There is a serious issue with the medical industry in that they'll jab you with anything they doesn't harm the majority of people, but you're not a majority, you're just an individual and you may be among those that ends up with Gadolinium stuck in your body for a long time. To give some more context, the techs told me I'd pee it all out within a day. But do a little research and you'll find that Gadolinium binds to muscle, bones, organs, and even your brain and never leaves. They figured this out over 10 years ago while doing autopsies but they're still using the old scripts. Just be careful. The mri showed absolutely nothing that the doctor was looking for. Be skeptical of your doctors too. They're only human. I spoke to a radiologist later and he told me there was absolutely no reason to get the contrast for what they were looking for, and that essential sequences were left out of the scan. The recommendation for mri came from a neurosurgeon. Don't let a neurosurgeon tell you what only a radiologist should be able to tell you. It's dumb. I learned the hard way. read more

This imaging center is awful and very unprofessional. We had an appointment at 1:30pm and arrived at 1:17pm. The front desk told us we arrived too late and that we would have to go after the other patients at 3:30pm. In addition, they did not tell us in advance that we had to call for an authorization number and this ended up taking another 25 minutes that could've been done in advance to speed up the process. We stayed in the area, and at 2:29pm they called and said that we could be squeezed in at 2:30pm. We arrived at 2:35pm (6 minutes after they called) and they said we arrived too late and would have to wait until 5:00pm. In addition, the front desk worker said she did not say 3:30pm earlier, and insinuated we were lying. Only after speaking with the manager were we able to get the MRI (2 hours after our scheduled appointment time). Overall, I would not recommend this place. As somebody with family in healthcare, I understand it is not an easy task but all of the front desk workers had a nasty attitude and unwillingness to help. We would've rescheduled with a different company, but are student athletes and getting the MRI was a very time sensitive issue. I have had chronic nausea since Feb this year and haven't been able to stomach anything. When I tried to drink the contrast for a CT I couldn't keep it down. Not to mention I got there and waited 30 minutes after not being allowed to eat all day and had to watch as the receptionists ate in front of me. Then when I finally got the contrast and wasn't able to drink it they tried to pressure me into drinking it. The receptionists were extremely rude. read more

Just left and dealt with a Racist ignorant comment about "taking my weave out" by the way I'm a black women. Was rushed out. Neither one of the doctors had an empathy or patience. Very scary and unprofessional experience. The receptionist was very sweet though. Hire more empathic professional people please. I've never had an MRI before and was very nervous about getting one done. I didn't want to miss work and was so glad that they had weekend hours available. I went in on a Saturday morning and the lady at the front desk was knowledgeable and kind. When I went back to get started on my MRI the tech was very patient and understanding of how nervous I was. I got changed, given my own locker key, and she took me in to get the scan done. She talked me through and explained each step of the process and made me feel more comfortable. It was sometimes hard to hear the tech talk to me once the scan began but that is to be expected with ear plugs and the machines noise. I ended up having to have two more MRI's done and requested that my doctor please refer me to Touchstone again because the experience wasn't as difficult (or scary) as I thought it would be. They were very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. I won't take my business anywhere else! read more

Went in today and got an MRI of my neck for a herniated disk. Very professional, they were running behind a bit, but the procedure was pain free and fast. Within 30 min the test was over. They did everything they could to make me comfortable. If you're cold, they'll give you a blanket. read more

I had done my Ct scan for my abdomen. Was easy scheduling the appointment got appoinment within 2days. My scan took less than 5 minutes. Even though I waited 1 hr after I drank contrast which didn't tasted great lol . Front desk lady is very helpful & professional. Inside staffs are great too. Whereas why I'm giving 4star because I felt they charged higher compare to all other centers in Austin. I'm billed way more than what it's shown in our insurance website.
