March 05, 2026. I gladly drove 50 miles farther each way to Touchstone Imaging in Waco for my MRI, rather then using facilities much closer to my home. I'm claustrophobic, and I felt quite at ease in in their OPEN MRI. The knowledgeable and friendly staff also made me feel very comfortable. I recommend TOUCHSTONE IMAGING WACO to anyone!!! Don't schedule an appointment through the phone system. I recommend going in person to the Waco location to make your appointment and to make sure everything is correct. The customer service on the phone isn't helpful, and they do not cancel old orders that you have canceled yourself due to having them done else where. This location use to be great, but now that you don't direct location you are calling, it becomes a mess. read more

The only reason I'm not giving a 5-star is that my MRI tech was rather cold and unsympathetic. Not friendly at all and that helps when undergoing something like this. He should work on trying to develop some empathy. Otherwise experience was good - most other staff very nice, location is easy to access and parking is readily available. read more

Update: However, just had a follow up Skype appointment with the pediatric neurosurgeon who told us they didn't do the flexion/extension he ordered. This is so frustrating because he wrote the order correctly, I asked about it, even as my kid went in with the gal performing the MRI because we knew it was a specific type of MRI he needed and were assured it would be done. So that was a complete waste of insurance money and really did nothing but delay the process of getting my kiddo to surgery. Now, the neurosurgeon will just have it done with people he trusts prior to the surgery. Also, it is illegal to tell someone they can't have a copy of the reports as the gal who did the imaging said to me, "Are you a doctor?" Geez, my perception of this place has completely changed! read more

This is a warning to the people who choose to use this facility. First, they lied to me about how much my resonsibility for the MRI would cost. Quoting $1200 less than they ended up charging me. The first time i went in, they could not get the contrast in my vein. I was in the MRI with my head in this plastic cage thing and 3 people trying to find a vein. It was very stressful. They gave up and set up another appointment. At that appointment, the lady popped a vein in my left inner elbow that ended up causing a huge bruise that lasted almost a week and had people worried about me. Then i get the bill. What they said would be $700 minus my downpayment turned out to be $1900 with my insurance offsetting almost $800. So i now am responsible for almost $1100. Then i find out if i dont want to go to Collections, i have to pay this off in 6 months, which is ridiculous. Be warned what questions to ask and what to get in writing before you have a procedure done here, because they have taught me what to look for next time. read more

***BEWARE***SCAM OPERATION*** "LeShay" will tell you over the phone that you've "qualified for a full discount"...just to get you to schedule. Then when you show up, you'll find out that you're responsible for the "FULL COSTS"...unless you "return these forms to us, within 2 weeks". She'll deny that she ever qualified you, in the first place, over the phone. But she'll tell you...very reassuringly, and soothingly...that you should "be sure you return the correct forms to us, within 2 weeks, or you'll be responsible for the full costs." Of course, by that point...around 3 weeks...you've already been waiting too long for a crucial imaging scan, for an urgent health problem. So they've got you. At least, that's the scam operation's M.O. Too bad, these scams used to be limited to fly-by-night telephone-scammer operations. Now they extend to healthcare facilities, as well, apparently. Oh...and "Marlene" will then actually CALL YOU BACK..to browbeat you into returning to complete the scan, afterwards...claiming to be the "Administrative Manager"...and just when you've explained the problem...hoping that it was just a personnel problem, in the front office...you'll realize that not only does she not care at all...but that she's in on it, too...and interested in nothing more than getting you back up to the imaging center, to get the scan performed, so you can be billed. Maybe if you have full insurance coverage, and no other choice, this place would be an only option, in a time of need. Unfortunately, these days we get to worry about not only telephone scammers, but healthcare scammers...at least the telephone scammers are decent enough to not toy with your health, at the same time, and attempt to leverage that into forcing you into a situation where you have no other choice but to fall victim to their scheme. read more
