At my wife's suggestion, we tried Touché and we both absolute loved it. Very attentive & knowledgeable staff, and our meals were delicious. My wife ordered steak frites and I had the catfish. It was a very tough decision between catfish or the shrimpy grits, since I'll generally order that anytime it's offered on a menu. There's no doubt that we'll return for me to order next time You have to try their cornbread. It's not overly sweet, and it's an ample portion for very little money. We also ordered a side of red beans and rice, and their house Old Fashioned. Aurora is really stepping up its culinary game, and it's wonderful to now have so many diverse dining options so close to home. People should think outside the box next time they're considering going to a franchised chain, and instead support the indie restaurants offering something unexpected. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions, and made thoughtful recommendations that made the experience even better. We loved the charcuterie board to start, and the blackened chicken was absolutely delicious. The drink menu offered something for everyone, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. This restaurant is beautiful--a perfect date-night spot. Reservations were easy to make online, and once the food arrived, it was clear why people come here. Every single plate at our table was wiped clean--like clean clean. The beignets were delicious. I forgot to take a picture, but trust me! The food was outstanding across the board, and the drinks were just as impressive. Everything was flavorful, well-presented, and absolutely worth it. That said, the service was the weak point of the night. After waiting over 10 minutes without our waitress acknowledging us, I eventually went up to the hostess stand myself to ask for water. Another waitress--who wasn't assigned to our table--ended up taking our drink order and appetizers. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, so the delay was a bit confusing and disappointing. We were also there specifically for their Galentine's dinner event, and honestly, you wouldn't have known it was happening. There was no special menu, no flyer, no table signage--nothing to make it feel festive or intentional. It felt like a missed opportunity to create something fun and memorable for guests who showed up expecting a special experience. The silver lining: a staff member did come over, sincerely apologized for the wait, and handled the situation with kindness and humor. He even treated us to two rounds of shots, which went a long way in smoothing things over and made us feel taken care of. Overall, I'd still recommend this place for the food alone--it was that good. Reservations are highly recommended! We snagged a spot for a late Saturday night and the place was pretty busy. Ambiance was perfect...soft lights, cozy yet spacious, and the comfiest swivel chairs! We started with the crab cake. It was pretty expensive but high quality. The patty was thick and flavorful! I had the gumbo as my meal. I added shrimp for an extra $7. It was good but I was pretty disappointed with the size. The pictures I saw on Yelp were pretty deceiving. The bowl it came in was pretty tiny and I only got 3 shrimps. My boyfriend tried the catfish per our waitresses recommendation and that was a hit! Beignets: I'm not expert, but I loved how light and airy these were so you could eat with no guilt. Biscuits and gravy: buttery, delicate Biscuits topped with a savory almost cheesy gravy hit the spot. We shared this as an appetizer synthetic we could try all ofnthe menu items we could. Enjoyed a NOLA Nectar cocktail first--refreshing and similar style to a sweeter/pink Aperol spritz. We split the beignets, served with a side of Nutella for dipping. The beignets were hot, fresh, soft and sprinkled with powdered sugar--4 to a plate, so make sure you order enough! My meal was a short rib bourguignon Panini, with delectable beef and warm onion jam--just divine! My friend very much enjoyed the berry crêpes--sweet and authentic. This was our first trip to the restaurant. The menu is pretty small. It is very cute Inside. the service was fine. The crabcake appetizer you only get one and it was dry. We came here as two couples with a reservation. Immediately we were impressed by the sultry, thoughtful decor. We were transported to NOLA! We did have to wait a while, but we stood in the bar area with drinks. When we were finally seated, we ordered and the food came out pretty quickly. The crab cake (just one) was big enough to eat try a few bites, though it was so good I'd say maybe split one between two people max. Lots of crab, a looser patty, not too dense, with tons of flavor and the sauce was mop-up-able. The French Onion soup was unlike anything I'd had before. Delicate and creamy, dotted with croutons, not heavy and cheese-laden like most. The brussels spouts were charred and sweet and scrumptious. Others got the blackened chicken: excellent! Wow!!! I understand why this place takes consistent reservations! The decor in this place feels like you have walked into a little home town spot in the French Quarter. My husband and I walked in and it was packed! We asked if there was room for a table and the hostess stated that the restaurant wasn't taking any more sit down guests! That let me know the food was going to be good . We found two seats at the bar and sat there comfortably. The bar tenders were pretty busy so it took them about 1-2 minutes to greet us. This didn't take away from our experience, as we were watching all of the good meals come by! We both order the catfish and let me tell you.......i could eat this meal at least three times a week! The catfish sits on a bed of collard greens and jambalaya with a creole inspired aioli sauce. We ate the entire dish and then scraped the entire plate! Wow!! We finished our meal off with the beignets and they were ok. I probably won't order them again. They arrive hot, but there is a bourbon inspired sauce that doesn't fit well with the beignets. This is a very tough review for me. The venue is gorgeous, the food was spectacular and the service was exceptional. We even loved our table which was next to the window for good people watching. It was a 5 star night until - I had to use the restroom before we left. There was only 1, yes 1, all gender toilet/bathroom for a large facility. The line was 5 people deep and I waited 17 minutes. Well, we've wanted to try this for awhile and boy, did this disappoint! We ordered some appetizers and one was oysters, took a long time to get, came with no lemon, no sauce, no horse radish....ok. No big deal overall! Ordered dinner, 4 of us, I asked the server about the craw fish dish, said it was their best meal along with some corn bread. Again, dishes came way late and the one recommended was so blah and no sauce or taste and I didn't get the corn bread!!! Finally came after she substituted my dish! Stopped by before a show at paramount. We were seated in bucket chairs in the bar area near the door--it was drafty and quite cold. It took about 20 minutes for a server to come over; we eventually asked the hostess for help, and he came right away but with an attitude that continued throughout the meal. He never checked on us after taking the order. Our food arrived about 30-40 minutes later. While the timing was tight, the bigger issue was the servers attitude--it really diminished the experience. We made it to the Paramount (one block away) with about 5 minutes to spare, but it was far more rushed than it needed to be. An elegant addition to downtown aurora. We joined them for their formal opening night, but they'd been open a couple days prior. Maybe still working out the kinks but in general, very satisfied. Seated at a small table for two at the window. No problem. We were a party of two. But we had reservations and there were many tables available, and the other tables of two had the comfortable/fashionable club chairs. Ours were basic restaurant chairs. A disappointment - but I think they wanted diners in the window to show the place was open. And I don't like the trend of the digital only menu. We try to put our phones away when we're out to eat but this forces the digital content. Minor issue but another disappointment. But I gave it five stars...why? It's because of the service and the food. First, they're one of the few restaurants which offers custom non-alcoholic drinks. Two of them in the menu. Both delicious. There was an issue that the menu said $10 and we were charged $12 but hopefully they'll figure that out. They have an amazing deal of a half dozen raw oysters for only $11 - a bargain compared to the ludicrously overpriced Fortunato down the street. The shrimp and grits were great as was the blackened chicken. (Each around $22 - note many entrees were in the $30s.). We didn't opt for dessert. As it was a grand opening I think they still need to decide who their audience is. Two separate tables had kids - little crying kids. Kind of a mood killer for a date night. While happy with portion sizes and variety, dinner for two, without tip, ended up being $88. Not something I'm gonna do every night. Given the price and the decor/vibe, it seems more like a special event kind of place. And I'm not sure downtown aurora needs that. But I wish them luck. read more

We stopped in on an early Saturday evening before a show at the Paramount. We ordered right away so we wouldn't be late to the show. I ordered the gumbo and crispy Brussels, my friends ordered the crab cake and a salad with the honey jalapeño cornbread. Everything tasted great, but we waited nearly 40 minutes for our food to arrive. I had read about long wait times for food so we ordered things we thought would be fast. Nope! Took forever! All we got was a very brief "sorry for the delay". Also, prices are a bit steep. $17 for a bowl of gumbo? I wanted to try a cocktail, but not for another $16-17. The food was fine, not outstanding. Probably won't be back based on the prices and wait time. Make sure you budget plenty of time for your food to arrive if you have somewhere to be after dinner. read more

They were out of the steak (must be a good sign) so we took the waiter's (Jordan) recommendation of the catfish. 4/6 of us got the catfish. It was so good! I had ordered a side of Mac and cheese and it wasn't my favorite. It is very cheesy almost liquidy. However, everything besides that was AMAZING. Including the truffle fries (appetizer). For dessert they ran out of beignets (must be another great sign) so we ordered something else. Jordan (our waiter) was very efficient, and friendly. He was patient and answered all our questions. Definitely will be back soon! My recommendation is to make a reservation. Our reservation was at 8:15pm but we weren't sat until around 8:35pm. My husband and I went here last night for my birthday. My husband made a reservation before we arrived. When we arrived, we were greeted right away. We told the people at the front desk that we made a reservation. We were sitted right away. The hostess put 2 menus on a table and just walked away. I thought it was kind of weird that she didn't say anything when she put the menus on the table. Then, we sat at the table for about 20 minutes with no server approaching us. I finally had to wave a server down and told her that we haven't gotten our waters yet. She said she'll get a server for us. A server finally arrived. His name was Jordan. He was nice. We decided to order our drinks, appetizer, and entrees all at one time, because we didn't know how long it was going to take. The appetizer and the drinks arrived pretty quickly. At the end of the meal, I asked for 2 boxes. He took awhile getting the boxes. We were going to order beignets for dessert. However, we did not know how long the beignets were going to take, since we had a show to catch at the Paramount.
