I had an amazing experience! I called at 5 pm on Valentine's Day night and they squeezed me in at 5:30! The service was so friendly and everyone was so pleasant. We ordered food, kid you not, about 6 minutes later, all the food was out. And DANG was the food incredible. If you're a nacho fan, get the chicken nachos! Lastly, the drinks, FILLED TO THE BRIM! Bar Louie has unexpectedly become our go-to date night spot. Burgers, drinks, flatbreads; check, check, check! My husband will get a burger, usually, and I kind of bop around their menu. Sometimes we share an app. We've never needed to make a reservation or wait long. Another check. Recently, I got their margarita flatbread, which was praised by our waiter as a great choice, and because I was craving some veggies, ordered a side of zucchini and got their wedge best zucchini stack! Like 3 logs of well-seasoned logs stacked one way, and then topped by another 3 stacked perpendicular. It was the perfect, new way to be served zucchini. Other highlights are their burgers with tater tots. Not much to expand on here, they are made fresh to order and come on a quarter sheet pan with your ketchup and tots. I've also tried their Cobb salad with a side of chicken tenders (ask for no cheese on your salad, if you're not a fan of a ton of shredded cheddar) and it was splendid with those additions and subtractions. And last but not least, their martinis are our friend. We don't really come here as a drinking hole, but they are a bar, and they know their martinis. I had a really disappointing experience with the wings at Bar Louie. The quality was completely unacceptable, some of the wings were undercooked to the point of being bloody, while others were overcooked and hard. There was absolutely no consistency. On top of that, the portion sizes were very misleading. We ordered two plates of 10 wings, but the difference in size between the two plates was obvious. The ones I received were noticeably smaller, more like "baby wings" while the other plate had much larger pieces. I brought this to the manager's attention and was told it was based on weight, but that explanation didn't make sense since the menu clearly states an order is 10 wings, not sold by the pound. Between the food quality and the lack of accountability, this was a frustrating experience. I wouldn't recommend the wings here and definitely expected much better. read more

She keeps the place spotless, always checks on each customer, and ensures the food and drinks are spot-on. Gabby has served us food and drinks with a smile, and wonderful service every time. DATE NIGHT Naperville's Bar Louie is a solid place to enjoy happy hour. Several times now, my wife and I've come to this bar/restaurant on Route 59 for drinks + food. Each time we've taken advantage of their happy hour deals which essentially cuts our bill in half. Bar Louie runs theirs much longer than other places who end their specials in the afternoon. I've been to plenty of Bar Louies across Chicagoland--River North, Printer's Row, Bolingbrook, Geneva, Oak Park (RIP)--and experiences have been all over the board. This BL in Naperville strikes me as one of the better locations, aided by the fact that it's relatively new and well-managed. Their Happy Hour runs from 4-7pm; the majority of appetizers and flatbreads are 50% off, which is a great value if you're fine with snacking & sharing instead of doing entrées. Daily specials on booze include martini Mondays, wine Wednesdays (1/2 off bottles), and thirsty Thursdays ($2-3 off draft beers). We're big fans of their fried pickles ($11) with jalapeno ranch. Cheese curds are excellent ($13). The truffle fries ($10) are amazing. Spinach & artichoke dip ($13) is fine, though the crispy calamari ($15) is a way better choice for app and comes with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Don't sleep on the chips & dip trio ($11) with smoky salsa, queso, and guacamole. The chips themselves were fresh and delicious. The pepperoni flatbread ($14) is just dandy, but the hot honey bacon flatbread ($14.50) barely had any hot honey on it. Edges were a little burnt, too. Bread = 4 Circuses = 4.5 My wife got a couple pints of Blue Moon ($7.50) and I was feeling tropical, so I decided to get a Blue Hawaiian instead of a beer. HUGE mistake--it cost a whopping $14, and I foolishly got two! Now I know why lots of places don't list prices next to alcohol, if they did people would stick with water! * TL;DR * If you can time it right, Bar Louie offers tasty bites at very reasonable prices. Outside of weekday afternoons, however, you might be surprised at how quickly you rack up a tab (and the Blue Hawaiian was a ripoff, quite frankly). The atmosphere is inviting and their menu has something for everyone, plus service has been commendable. You can get a free appetizer just by signing up for their rewards program. I wouldn't hesitate to come back during happy hour, which luckily ends long after I get off of work. I appreciate they give those of us working 9-5 jobs a chance to benefit from discounted food & drinks instead of cutting it off at 4pm or so. I'd recommend this Bar Louie for sure. read more

We decided to check out Bar Louie for dinner and try something new tonight. Making reservations was easy and we hardly had to wait once we arrived. I did like the Atmosphere and our waitress Serenity was on point! She immediately greeted us and brought drinks out, and asked if we had any questions about the menu. We decided to a Grilled Chicken Club, kicking fried chicken sandwich and an order of sliders. The sandwich was a bit smaller than what I expected but definitely delicious! They forgot a couple ketchups and ranch sauces but she notice and brought them out. I'll definitely recommend this place and we definitely stop by again next time when we are by the area. read more

I really liked this restaurant. Good food, decent prices, nice bright environment. However, today being Sunday we decided to have an easy evening and came to the Naperville location near AMC theater. Upon entry noticed that the patio was available but the music was loud and "club" like. We sat on patio and asked to have it eliminated or turned down. They turned it down. Still incredibly unpleasant but ok. The club music was annoying. Ruined my dinner even though the salad was quite good. I confronted the manager before we left. Told him I like his restaurant but the loud club music on Sunday evening was uncalled for. He did not apologize and said that it's out of their control because it's corporate dictated. I said even on a Sunday evening? He said that's what they play all the time and that's what kind of establishment they are. Ah ha! Message received. Wanted to try out a new burger, and with Bar Louie being so close to my house now I figured why not. Burger was amazing, cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Fries were good. Cheese curds ok, but not the best I have had. Mac and cheese was nice and creamy but zero seasoning . Coleslaw had a very weird aftertaste. Not sure what that was about. Fish and chips are very good! Went here for Lent and was not disappointed. The chips are just fries, but very tasty and the fish is excellent. Not too much breading, great, breading:fish ratio. I go into this restaurant all the time it's very close to my home. Bar Louie has a rewards program I've been using it for over a year using my one and only phone number last week when I went to give the waitress my phone number so I could earn rewards because I was just about 20 points away from earning a milestone reward level where I could redeem for an entree I found out they had changed the rewards program and there was no record of my phone number and when I went to open my app indeed they had changed the entire structure of the app there was no longer a history or a diagram of a martini glass showing your point total instead it was changed around and it said that I had 0 points... Which was bad enough but why in the world if my app still was associated with my phone number did the waitress say she couldn't find it... When I asked the manager about it he told me to contact the rewards customer service people with an email. I did get a response and was told perhaps I had another phone number or email to link to that account which I did not. Apparently that was their follow-up they have not closed the case or done anything about the fact that suddenly 380 points were wiped from my rewards account I also spoke again with the store manager and he said there was absolutely nothing he could do about it now I work in the restaurant business and I know managers have some latitude to do something to help you if something's going wrong like this and would like to keep a loyal customer but he chose to do nothing after reiterating how disappointing this was he still continued to say we value you as a customer easy to say the words but there was nothing he said he could do for me... So I'm doing the only thing I can do to make myself feel better is sharing this experience with others... There was no warning that the loyalty program was changing neither for customers nor apparently for the store until a day or two before it happened ... And obviously the management people don't want to do anything about people losing their points which by the way took me a while to build up it doesn't generate loyalty if they suddenly take away your loyalty points without warning and choose to do nothing about it... So I encourage anyone who thinks the loyalty thing is going to be a good option and reason to continue to go to bar Louie to think again because apparently that's how they treat loyal customers read more

Have been here before for other reasons. Food is good. Drinks are good. However don't go here on your 21st birthday expecting to be served if your ID isn't horizontal. Despite your birthday showing you are 21 and being with your family, it isn't enough to prove that you are of legal age. Apparently it's owners choice to not serve those with a vertical ID despite their age being correct. Did you know that a Christmas Eve birthday (or any other federal holiday) isn't ever going to have a horizontal ID due to the holiday? Maybe the policy needs to be adjusted to having a manager verify the age and ID if there is a concern the staff won't be able to tell. read more

So we have been waiting a while for Bar Louie to open and finally went this pass Friday. Got there at 4pm and sat right down ordered a couple of martinis and a soda for my son and it literally took 10 minutes ordered a couple of apps 2 sandwiches everything tasted great ordered 2 more drinks and they took 20 minute waiter was very apologetic but seriously get it together it's a bar! bill came out to $120 very expensive for what we got the martinis might be 4oz read more

If you are looking for healthy low calorie food, this is not the place to eat. Everything high calorie. I had French Onion soup and a side of fries. Soup was ok. Fries were not cooked long enough. My husband got the burger and fries. He said same thing on fries. This will probably not be a common stop for us. Makes you feel extra guilty being right across from Orange Theory. Service is horrible here. I had a DMV temporary license with me due to just moving from out of state and going to get my real Drivers license. My boyfriend had one as well. The waitress takes out drinks and looks at the drivers license and walks away. She never said anything was wrong or expressed any concern with them. Then the manager comes over saying it's not a valid ID even though I have to show multiple documents the Secretary or State to even get this. My boyfriend happen to have his old ID but the manager still wouldn't accept mine because I didn't have the old ID that has a hole punched in it. I will just say that I was able to use this ID for everything including withdrawal money from my bank, buying drinks all over Naperville and Chicago, and even buying a home. But for some reason I can't use it for a $7 drink at this establishment. To top it off they never have a hostess in the front to greet and seat you when you first come in. Terrible Service occurred at Bar Louie's in Naperville. We checked in at the location at 4:58pm, our orders weren't taken until 5:30pm. By 6:15pm we still hadn't received our food. I used my cell and called the restaurant while in there. The manager Cheryl came over to our table. Cheryl stated they were short staffed (as everyone is) and she was going to the kitchen to see the delay. I also mentioned to Cheryl that we saw at least two parties come in after us and their orders had been taken and they were eating. So this can positively disregard her being short staffed comment. Then Cheryl comes back and states our order went in at 6:05pm. This absolutely wasn't the case. I also took note how she was implicating that it was a server issue and not taking ownership as a manager that there were various factors that caused this breakdown. She had no empathy, concern, or even spoke nicely to us. Needless to say we left the restaurant without having anything served to us besides water. Will not return or encourage others to patronize this Bar Louie location. In these times where many restaurants are failing I wouldn't want that to occur for anyone. However, this was a clear sign that this business isn't doing their part effectively to be mindful of the importance of good customer service. read more

Nick and Daisha are awesome! From the first time we were there, they are the main reason we always come back. Aside from the fact they have an awesome late menu and great drinks! Those two are great bartenders that really create the local bar vibe from a place you really don't think you would get that from. We even signed up for the rewards program, who does that? We really don't usually bother but it's so worth it! I mean add that with the random nights we go just to find out they have certain drink and food specials, it's a win win every time we go. We really don't pay any attention to what day or time we go so it's just like a bonus and an extra bonus when we see Nick or Daisha! Honestly, I don't think there was a time we have been there when they are not there, come to think of it! Sheesh don't they ever get a day off?! Getting back to some of our favorites! For drinks, the Rock-a Rita is my go to and just found out they are half off on Mondays! Martin or Mondays!!! Also the chicken tenders are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G we especially like the Thai spicy one! I'll start by saying the service, food, drinks, atmosphere are usually ok. Not great, but not enough to complain about. But my experience tonight tilted that so-so opinion well into the negative. My advice is to NOT show up at 12 for a nightcap and expect to be warmly welcomed. Almost as if they WANTED to send a message: we really don't want your business at 12. After arriving at 12:03 for a single nightcap after a long day, my first question was "you close at 1, right?" The bartender said "yes, well really 12:45 and last call is at 12:30." I said "great, just having one." Told the bartender I wanted a cocktail, but wasn't sure which one. So she walked away. I sat their literally 6-8 minutes watching her close down the other side of the bar. Another bartender was there, also ignoring my side. Finally she came over -- 10 min after I arrived -- and asked if I'd ordered. I said "I think your other bartender forgot about me." Placed order. Another 5 min later the first one arrived with my drink -- now 15+ min after I arrived. She said "here you go." No apology. The second walked by a few min later and said "reminder we close soon." I said "no worries, as I said, just having the one." Then 2 min later, the manager walked over and turned the stools on either side of me and said "it's last call, if you want another." So fir the third time I said, "nope, still just want the one." Then he turned the lights on at 12:33, about 10 min after I got my drink. Fine. Didn't want to slow them down, finished my drink within 2-3 min of lights up. Then I sat there with an empty glass for about 5-6 minutes, all 3 on other side closing down. Ignoring me. So I set a $20 bill next to my empty glass. 2-3 more minutes passed. Finally the second bartender walked by me, ignoring my signs I was ready to close, so I said "I'm ready to close out." She said, barely breaking stride, "ok. just give me a few minutes, I'm closing the bar." 5 more minutes, nothing. So I walked over to where she and the manager were on other side, backs to me and said, "thought I'd just come to you to make it easier." They ignored me. The manager was working on the till. About 60 seconds later, the bartender asked me, "what was your drink?" Seriously?! All three of them had to tell me when last call was but when I wanted to close out, they acted like none of them served me. Super frustrated I said "can you please just give me my change, I'm trying to leave." The manager bold-faced lied to me and said in a nasty tone "hold on, I'm working on it." He then asked the bartender AFTER that, what did he have? So all in all, was there for 40 min... spent 15 waiting for my drink and 12 to close out. Enjoyed an average manhattan for about 12 min in between. Not only was the customer service lacking, they flat-out ALL ignored me. Not the kind of experience that makes me want to spend any more hard-earned money there. read more
