This visit was extra meaningful because they quite literally saved my birthday evening. We had reservations at the new Bien Trucha in Wheaton, only to arrive and find it closed... with no notice. Not exactly festive. Enter Proof No. 5, swooping in like the culinary hero of the night. We enjoyed an exquisite tuna crudo, rich and beautifully balanced, and meatballs over polenta that felt like comfort dressed up for a celebration. The medallions with mushrooms and three sauces were excellent, layered, and deeply satisfying. And the cocktails? Some of the best crafted in the suburbs. Thoughtful, balanced, and dangerously easy to order a second. Warm atmosphere, consistently great food, and a team that delivers every time. We'll keep coming back. And back. And back.

There were air dried and roasted beets. Get the crunch from air dried beets and pistachios. Also had a Light sweet taste. Have option to add steak, salmon, or chicken. Choose the salmon and was cooked perfectly. Very flaky and moist. There is free parking on the streets and not far from the parking garage.

My lunch special was the godfather flatbread with charred pepperoni, crumbled sausage, and hot honey. I requested for the hot honey to be served on the side and substituted the salad for the day's soup, chicken rice. They were very accommodating with both requests. The girls had cheeseburger sliders with fries, applesauce, and lollipop. They inhaled their sliders and fries but they did not care for the applesauce. There were approximately six other tables dining in with only one server. She was busy but yet very attentive and friendly. We had a good experience and would definitely revisit.

The mac and cheese was a great side, and the fried pickles were the perfect addition to the meal. As someone who gets full pretty quickly, I ended up sharing my burger and fries, and there was still plenty to enjoy. It wasn't very busy when we first arrived, but the restaurant gradually filled up and became quite packed as the evening went on. I can understand if it was busy but that wasn't the case. I will say it wasn't like 45 mins of waiting, however, still not the greatest service. For food I ordered the social burger cooked well done and chose the side salad (minus feta). The dressing that comes with the salad is up my alley. I think it may have been some type of vinaigrette. Whatever it was, it was tangy and sour, I really liked it. The burger was also good. Since I'm pregnant I need to make sure all meats are thoroughly cooked. The burger was just that, cooked all the way through and no pink. Everything was delicious and I can see myself coming back.

Last night I ordered the spicy 302 burger and my wife had a regular 302 burger. Neither of us could tell the difference. My issue is 302 has turned into a daycare for kids. Parents let their kids run amok now. It's great for us parents to have a place to relax and let the kids blow off some energy. But letting your kids run around a restaurant with zero control is too much. Within the first 5 min of us being there, one kid slammed his mom's wine glass down and shattered it, another kid was hanging in the door handle and would not move when I tried to utilize the door. 302 tried to post "patio rules" but some parents have zero respect for those. Such as on rule, 302 asks for no ball playing on the patio, for understandable reasons. Yet, one kid had a soccer ball, another a beach ball and another a softball. All were flying around the patio, smashing into people and things. Parents; teach your kids some common sense manners and respect for others.

I tried the 302 burger and asked it to be cooked super well done. It was very good and the schlick sauce really brings everything together. The tater tots are pretty average. Nothing special, I'd still get them again though. I also tried an Oreo shake which was pretty good too. It was thiccccck and creamy.
