We took Tours by Judy for the 3-in-1 Tour (French Quarter + Free People of Color + Plessy v. Ferguson) and the Garden District Tour. Judy is a retired teacher and an amazing tour guide. Judy walked us through the French Quarter and the next day the Garden District and gave us a step by step history of these incredible areas. Judy is a phenomenal tour guide who I don't think I can recommend highly enough. I had the pleasure of taking two tours in one day with Judy. We took the cemetery tour in the morning and the 3-1 tour (Historic French Quarter, Free People of Color & Plessy v. Ferguson) tour in the evening. I don't think it's common practice for Judy to do two personal tours in one day, but I am so glad she did. I think this speaks to Judy's willingness to really work with her tour guests and her generosity with her time. I truly appreciate her giving us two tours since we did not have much time left in New Orleans. I contacted Judy about two days before the tours and she replied immediately with her availability and was very clear about what she could offer us and what we should expect. The tours were jam packed with history, which is exactly what we were looking for. Judy was clear and direct about the city's history and its relevance to today. The information comes rapid fire, but Judy takes pauses to allow for questions and for further clarification. In addition, after the tours, Judy provided links and photos to support the information she shared. A few points I'd like to note: - I really appreciated that Judy was respectful of the cemetery space we were in, which is so important, because we were walking among the remains of and learning about real people. - Judy was easy to work with, professional, responsive, clear and honest. When I asked a couple of questions that Judy did not know the answer to, she said so and said she would do some research and get back to me, which she did do! -Judy is generous with her time and especially her wealth of knowledge. We took 2 tours hosted by Judy, through another company. We went on the Cemetery tour and the Garden District tour. Judy was an History teacher in her former life, and I couldn't help but think how I would have loved to be one of her students. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and always ready with a lagniappe, we enjoyed every minute of both tours. Of ALL the tours we did (around 10) Judy was our absolute favorite guide. Yesterday my girlfriend and I took a cemetery with Judy and it was great. After we woke up and saw the weather we began to rethink our decision of thinking a tour. That was until Judy showed up and we began our tour. Judy's knowledge of New Orleans history and culture was clear from the beginning. Her ability to interweave facts within a story made us forget about the rain. I've taken many guided tour but none compared to this one. But Judy's tour doesn't end there. My friend and I ended up being the only 2 on our tour of the French Quarter and St. Louis Cemetery #1 with Judy when we were in New Orleans last week. Judy was so knowledgeable about the history of the state and city (former history teacher) and kept everything funny and interesting. When we went into the cemetery itself, she described the funeral culture and traditions from the beginning of New Orleans to present day; it was fascinating! My family and I went on a Ghost tour led by Judy in January 2016. We did not have the golden experience some others are claiming on these reviews. She was rushing through her stories, she seemed to be under the influence of something hard, and she was really upset at a small group of young girls from Europe who couldn't understand her ramblings. The girls were attempting to politely leave (not requesting a refund either) and Judy made an over production of it all. She then turned her frustration to my father-in-law and she kept directing some fiery (racially based and biased) statements at every chance she got... I Would plead with anyone who thinks about taking her tours or using her in any capacity not to... SHE IS VENOMOUS and poison to any time you spend in New Orleans... read more

This past weekend was my first trip to New Orleans. I took the French Quarter ghost tour. There was a nice, small group of 6 of us. Walking around and seeing those massive tours of 30 people, you wonder how they hear or learn anything! Judy is vastly knowledgable on New Orleans and can answer any question you have. Judy's tour was my favorite thing we did in New Orleans. We went on Halloween - a very busy day to go on a cemetery tour. She made sure we could all hear her when she was speaking about different people laid to rest at the cemetery and made sure we were all comfortable and out of the sun whenever possible. My husband and I booked a private tour of The French Quarter with Judy. She was absolutely amazing! Before meeting Judy, my husband and I walked around the area and thought it was okay, rather touristy. But walking the same streets with Judy made the city come alive. She made us appreciate New Orleans and understand it's importance and richness like never before. There literally is something that will make your mouth gape everywhere she pointed.
