She kept all the kids completely engaged and excited the entire time, balancing spooky fun with just the right amount of history. The tour was a perfect mix of interesting stories for adults and hands-on fun for the kids. The children loved using the ghost-hunting gadgets and they truly felt like little investigators exploring the French Quarter. Ya'll. I knew this was going to be fun for my kiddos. But I really underestimated how much *I* was going to love it. First things first. This tour the best thing you can do with kids in the Quarter. If your kids love history (or even if they don't) the teen tour is an absolute must! Our tour guide Richard taught us about the history of the Mighty Mississippi, the elaborate initials in Jackson Square and the savage lady they belonged to and much, much more. He entertained us and gave us pop quizzes all along the way. Secondly, if you're local and turn your nose up at this then you're missing out! My family did a kid friendly ghost tour with Jill. She was amazing! She completely captivated my twins (who are almost 7). There was a large range of kid ages on the tour and everyone was involved and interested. She had preprinted name tags for the kids and she did a remarkable job of calling their names and asking questions and involving everyone. When we finished, my Max asked if we could do it again. (and if that isn't an endorsement, I don't know what Is). A few days after the tour, we saw her in the French quarter wearing a hoop skirt for another tour and she helped Jackson's "magic spell wish" come true. I highly recommend! read more

This was a wonderful tour for kids and adults. I had my 7 and 8 year old do the spooky tour and they had so much fun. Our guide Candice was wonderful with the children and was very attentive to their questions and comments. The kids enjoyed the ghost meters and the thermal readers to find their ghosts. This tour was so much fun. We were visiting the city and wanted to do a ghost tour but not scare the kids. This was perfect! Our tour guide was so nice to our kids and changed the length and depth of the content based on their interest. She was also able to add more content for parents while walking between stops. March 12 2019 we did the 4:30 tour with our 8 year old and 6 year old. I wish more cities would have tours geared more towards kids. This was our first stop in town and it had our kids super excited about the time we had in New Orleans. Our group had to wait for another family that was stuck in traffic. The French Quarter traffic is crazy I WOULD Strongly suggest that you park and walk to the tour. You'll have more fun and it will take less time. Also look for the Yellow Kids Tour Cart. If there was one thing I'd change it would be the price of adults. Maybe 10$ not 17. This was fun and we hope to do the spooky tour on our next trip. read more

Jill is the female equivalent of the Pied Piper .. she captures the interest of every kid for a full 2.5 hours and they follow her mesmerized by her Nawlin charm and little tricks up her sleeve like treasure maps carefully planted on the sidewalk , ghost readers and box of intriguing spells. Prior to the tour I was a little concerned that the ghost tour would be too scary for our son however Jill reassured me that ghosts in her tour were treated in the same realm as the tooth fairy. We did two tours with them. The first should have been canceled due to rain. We were trapped in an alley from the start of the tour through most of it. Obviously there's no way to control the rain, but when it's pouring so hard that you can't conceivably do the tour in the rain, the guide should have the ability to cancel and refund. My bigger issue is that the Creole kids tour is supposed to tell kids what it was like to be a kid--girl/boy, slave/free etc and our guide gave our kids ZERO information about being a kid. Hoopskirts and the secret language of fans have nothing to do with childhood. Our guide Eric also didn't seem to connect with the kids. However the Spooky tour is great. Heidi was phenomenal and really clicked with the group of kids. My only reservation is there's a "voodoo spell" the kids do, and it's just really disrespectful to use someone's culture and heritage like it's on par with something fictional, like ghosts. But the rest tells the story of Mdme Lalaurie without any mention of her torture of slaves because the tour is for young children, a stop at Lafitte's blacksmith shop where a ghost gives them tops on where to go next - - the church and pirate's alley. read more

Quite possibly the best thing we did in New Orleans. We did the Pirate Treasure Hunt tour with our two kids, ages 4 and 6. Communication was great, from booking to the reminders the day of. The tour itself was the perfect length and I appreciated the props and visual aids that were brought along. We thought the amount of walking was just right and the kids enjoyed the "treasure" at the end. That night at dinner my daughter was talking about the facts she learned and it's obvious the tour captured her attention and she learned a great deal. We all did, and we had a good time to boot. This kids tour was fantastic and really exceeded our expectations. We did the kids ages 5-10 ghost tour with our 5 and 8 years. Jill our guide was awesome and had the kids totally captivated. We did walking tour of some of the French quarter's most haunted buildings but with sanitized, kid friendly story lines of the ghosts. The kids had a blast as they walked around town trying to pick up ghost readings on their ghost meters. Jill was great and the kids ranked this one of the highlights of their trip. We took the Jazz tour with Richard in June 2019 and it definitely was one of the highlights of our trip. It's billed as a "Tween/Teen" tour but I had as much fun as the kids did (We were a party of 9). The thing that made this tour special was that Richard, a New Orleans native and history teacher, really loves this city and loves what he's talking about and it shows. We really felt that he had a strong connection to this city and it's history. There were no boring parts and he knew about every street and corner we walked on.
