I got the Tiramisu matcha and it was actually really really good. I personally think this location is little better than Centreville location and the drinks are Better. The pastry they had in this location was also a little different and I ended up getting the salt bread since I e never tried them and it was so good. This location has such a good vibe and love all the decors!

MANASSAS , Va. -A flight of ice cream for $8? Yes, please!…read moreThis roadside ice cream stand does the job well. Tons of parking lot parking. Plenty of benches around for seating. Numerous soft serve and hand scooped ice cream and shaved ice flavors. The missus and I got a flight of four ice creams on a Monday midday - while brisk business going on, we were served quickly. Each scoop is fairly generous. The blueberry ice cream was a particular standout - very blueberry-ish. We'll definitely be back when in the Manassas area.

The workers also seemed friendly and happy to help. I feel like this place was overrated on social media because I've had better local ice cream closer to my house. I appreciated one of the workers that recommended me cookies and cream milkshake, instead of the cookie monster because it would be creamier. He didn't have to tell me that, but I like the honesty and recommendations. The milkshake was decent, but it tasted like there was either too much milk, or the ice cream was on the blander side. I don't believe this tasted like a grade A ice cream, but I am not an expert. The soft serve did not have as much vanilla flavor as I would have liked either.

But trust me, this is one of those places you'll be glad you found. I love Turkey, and the second I tried their food, it genuinely took me right back. We ordered the traditional Turkish breakfast, and it was one of those meals where the food just keeps coming in the best way possible. Everything felt fresh, flavorful, comforting, and so clearly made with care. We also tried the flatbread, a meat wrap, smoothies, their special soup which was so good I would absolutely go back just for that, warm catmir for dessert, and a bunch of appetizers. Honestly, everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. I also had the chance to meet the owner and chef, who was incredibly kind and clearly puts so much heart into this place. And the restaurant itself completely surprised me because it is way bigger inside than you'd expect. Super clean, modern, beautifully designed, and honestly such a cute brunch spot. Weekend music nights? Love that. Girls brunch? Absolutely. Date night? Definitely. Family dinner? 100 percent. Finding the love of your life? Slightly better odds if someone's mom brings their eligible son. Overall, this really is such a lovely hidden gem and absolutely worth checking out if you're craving authentic Turkish food in the Manassas area.

We came here for Mother's Day, they don't take reservations so we made sure to arrive right when they opened. We walked right in and within 30 min there was a line of about 30 people waiting to be seated. This place is HUGE and they still had a big line, but let me tell you it is worth it!!! Service was impecable, shout out to our server Ilke, she was so nice and attentive. She recommended getting my serpme, which was perfect to share for 2 adults and two kids. It comes with a variety of spreads, sweet and savory. All freshly made. The fig jam, butter and honey, feta spread and tomato one were amazing!! You get a side dish, we got the eggs with tomatoes and pepper and they were delicious! The zucchini fritter was also delicious. The spreads come with unlimited bread made in house. They have a huge selection of delicious looking desserts. We got complimentary baklavas that were amazing, so we didn't get to try any other dessert but we can't wait to come back!!

After parking around the corner and figuring out the correct sidewalk, I was amazed at how spacious Jirani is with plenty options for gathering, including outside tables, shared lobby spaces, and tucked-away booths in the back. Even though we chatted a while before ordering, no one pressured us to buy something in order to stay. I decided to try a hot chai with oat milk and a cinnamon scone. Both were quite delicious, and they even offered to warm the pastry for me. The chai had a lot of flavor and paired very well with the cinnamon. We ended up staying there for a couple hours, and the back booth was perfect to spread out for our planning session. I wouldn't hesitate to return here the next time I need to be in the area. It's perfect to grab a bite and get things done solo or with a group!

Incredibly, all 3 of the 2022 runner-up were in Virginia as I live in Anne Arundel County, MD, but that's just how it worked out with Jirani Coffee House being the furthest from my home at a staggering 53 miles away. It was one of those strange Saturdays where I ended up further and further from my home throughout the day. There was something expensive I was shopping for (bed) where I wanted to test in person as opposed to buying online without knowing. It was in a bedding store in the Tysons area, which I ended up buying from them in the end. Then, there was an astronomy Meetup out at the Air & Space Museum out in Chantilly, so I was like I'm already out in Tysons, and in the 11 years living in the DMV, I need to visit this location of Air & Space. The astronomy Meetup was canceled due to overcast weather, which I didn't realize until after I got there, but I enjoyed the museum until closing time. I weighed options and saw a coffee & comedy Meetup even further from my home in Manassas, which I decided to do since the astronomy event was canceled, and I had already driven all that way. Experience at Jirani: This was a cute coffee house in historic downtown Manassas. The iced chai was excellent, and the staff was friendly. Then, the comedy at nearby ART Factory was great too as was the museum which had some free wine & hors d'oeuvres. If I'm ever in Manassas, I'd definitely try to get back to Jirani!

The mangonadas are crazy here, but I prefer to share that with a big group as I literally only want 3 bites. I frequent here for the agua frescas: fresa (strawberry) and horchata are my favorites. I missed the melon agua fresca, so it's definitely on my list to try. I also regularly buy a few paletas (popsicles) to save for a hot day like strawberry with yogurt, strawberry milk, nance milk (this has seeds so be prepared to spit out the nance seeds), and oreo. They have ice cream that I've yet to try, but it's a fun spot to bring the family to and then maybe head over to the brewery across the street. There's not a lot of indoor space and zero outdoor tables to enjoy with the group. It's worth a trip and to try delicious desserts.

I asked my boo to pick up some popsicles for me- we got one fruit and yogurt and one rum raisin. These options weren't my fav and I hadn't gone back for a second chance since last sept. I went back last week....and back today. I CANNOT GET ENOUGH. So many options, flavors- so little tummy space LOL. I've had the chocobananas covered in pecans (it's a huge frozen banana hand dipped in hot chocolate in front of you then rolled in nuts or topping of your choice while the chocolate is hardening) SO great for under $3. Like ARE U KIDDING I can't NOT get it. I've tried several popsicle flavors at this point. The flavors are authentic, fruit based, works of art. From cookies and cream with Oreos visible in the popsicle to mango and chili....you'll be back for sure. Prices are unreal for real fruit popsicles, I believe under $3 each! They also have hard ice cream with a ton of flavors native to south and Central America! This spot reminds me of what it was like in Ecuador eating fresh guanabana ice cream...really fantastic one of a kind legit authentic spot. Please continue to support and grab a ton of popsicles you won't regret it! I'm planning my next trip as we speak :)
