Wonderful spot for a cool treat and a break WITH the community!! Recommend: Infallibly - YES!! These seriously need to branch out and be placed in other states; like AZ?? I am from Tucson, Arizona and these absolutely would make a killing on the public for bringing people together as hot as Arizona is! Omg what a great place! Packed on a weekend, but where the kids are you know there is BOMB ICE CREAM. Outdoor dog friendly and family friendly. Prices were decent and options were plentiful- from shaved ice to sundaes, to milkshakes. This is such a cute place! It has a carnival type atmosphere and a fun menu. They have different sundae toppings and snow cone flavors. They have a gelato option as well. The staff was really friendly. They are located in a little food truck and when I went there were a ton of people there getting treats. Despite being several back in line, the line moved fast and my ice cream was out quickly. I docked one start only because the sundae I ordered was good enough but nothing outstanding. I paid for a second topping. Between the two toppings it was less than I'd get somewhere else where I just ordered one topping. I thought the ice cream was pretty average. I would go back if I was just in the mood for ice cream and was nearby, but I won't develop a craving for it. TL;DR: Great Ice cream, long lines, but worth it Who doesn't like soft serve? For those who don't, they have options like shaved ice! They even have a pup cup if you bring your furry friend to enjoy the nice outdoor weather. When we got there around 7PM, the line was so so long. It may have looked longer due to social distancing protocols, but there was still a solid 20 people in front of us. As we went through the line, it continued to grow behind us as well. Took us about 30 minutes to get through the line, but it was a nice day, so we didn't mind. We ordered and received it within 2-3 minutes. They work fast! We also got our items to-go, and they have lids for all their sundaes, floats, or specialties. Food: Cone: Their soft serve is so good. It is creamy, and the consistency is perfect. It does melt quickly if you get a cone, but I mean. It's summer time. Oreo Fudge Boat: So good, very rich. Only comes in one size. And it is so much. I live pretty far from Swirlie's, but discovered it a few years ago when my daughter was playing in a soccer tournament not far from there. I hate soccer, so I used to try to get out of going to the tournaments (I'd take my son to his activities instead), but Swirlie's makes soccer so much better! Win or lose, we're heading out for ice cream! I always get a hot fudge sundae and their hot fudge is delicious, the ice cream fresh and creamy, and the service is always excellent. It's at the intersection of Samuel Trexler Drive & Pennsylvania Avenue. After dinner this evening - I stopped in here for ice cream. As was the last time I visited the adjacent Burger King - some sort of car meet was taking place - the BK parking lot was full of classic and muscle cars with their hoods open and lots of people walking around looking. The line for Swirlie's was about 30 people deep when I arrived - I got in line and patiently made my way to order. I ordered what I think was called a "Yazberry" flavored soft serve ice cream cone - in a small size. A mixture of vanilla and Raspberry. Very tasty! The girls who work at this stand are running an excellent classic ice cream stand. Everyone is nice, they take credit card, they are fast, and they have solid menu options. Tip them well and get napkins! I always order some variety of a malt, which I believe elevates any milkshake. A malt is also a great test of whether you know how to make a milkshake, because you either taste malt throughout or you don't. They aren't doing anything fancy or flashy, but they know how to make a great malted milkshake! I've never been much of a shaved ice person but they have a ton of flavours to add and they can put the sweetened condensed milk on Hawaiian style, which I see as the malt powder of the shaved ice world.
