In 2024, I used Lemonade Bakery for my wedding cake. The price was insanely reasonable, especially since I made my brother pick up the cake instead of getting it delivered. The tasting in advance was so great. I loved that the appointment took place after the shop closed and that I could choose combo flavors in advance to try out to fit my theme. I went with a pumpkin cake with cinnamon frosting, naked icing with a fall theme. Not one slice went uneaten on my wedding day. A year later, I special ordered cupcakes for my anniversary in the same flavors, and had to coordinate with the baker to ensure the flavor combo was available. We ordered 4 cupcakes: 3 at $2.50 each (vanilla (yellow cake) with vanilla frosting and vanilla with chocolate frosting) and 1 at $3 (butterscotch). The regular were really good. What a great find in downtown historic Manassas!! They're located right next to The Crossroads Tavern. It is a small shop so no sitting areas. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Best part is they have Vegan cupcakes in the shop for less than $3/ea! I got a bunch of cookies and they are soft...but not too soft. Just perfect with perfect balance in flavors. I have been wanting to try this place for years ever since I first heard about it and finally had the chance to stop by. Hubby has a nut allergy so it was super heartwarming to see his eyes light up when we walked inside and he saw all of the baked goods that he was safe to eat. We got a bunch of goodies: cupcakes, ounce cookies, cinnamon rolls, and monkey bread. Our favorite has to be the classic chocolate chip cookies! I couldn't even tell the difference that it was made without eggs! As some others have mentioned, the cupcake icing was a bit too sweet for our taste. Hubby actually loves really sweet things but even the icing was on the too sweet side for him. But I know everyone has different tastes so others may prefer it this way! Allergy Friendly is so easy now! My kids did not know this was an allergy-friendly bakery the first time we went. We ordered a lot and tried a lot and everything was delicious, from cupcakes to cookies to cinnamon rolls and bars. I love that I can have each person pick out an item or two they would like, it feels so custom. I find the treats to be less sweet than a traditional bakery, which is a good thing. My daughter has a friend with food allergies, so I knew exactly where to go to pick up treats for her sleepover. Got a cake from here for a birthday : it looked pretty, but that was about it. we got the strawberry shortcake - soon as we cut the cake it started falling apart - the cake itself had absolutely no taste. The frosting well let's just say somebody was very heavy handed on the frosting and that too wasn't that great. The cake was very beautiful though. The cake was $40 : I would say , not worth it . On a Saturday afternoon the case was half full. Smelled wonderfully of cinnamon. I wanted to support a local bakery, especially one that caters to food allergies. I asked if they ever had products geared toward type 1 diabetics for my daughter but I was told they already cater to allergies so can't alter products to deal with another food issue. Too bad. We had a freight cookie. It was beautiful in appearance. The sugar cookies base is very delicate. We took the cookies to go. They were drizzled with a nice caramel and chocolate drizzle over some kind of seasame seed butter frosting which was not my favorite. Very strong sun butter taste which is not exactly a savory tahini taste. In any case, fun to try. 2 cookies were 4$ plus tax which seemed reasonable for the speciality nature and presentation.
