I am not someone to write reviews normally but the low quality interaction with this tow company warrants it. I got a flat tire on my way to northeast PA from Boston. I called this place to ask if they could change my flat. I had a tire and the equipment. I was traveling by myself and am a middle aged woman. The person who answered the phone told me to locate a mile marker so I exited the car a walked a few hundred feet to see it. Understandable the traffic noise was considerable and as I walked back I was trying to tell him where I was but the phone disconnected. I returned to the car and called Tow Boss back. I explained I just called and told him the mile marker and that we must have gotten disconnected and he said "ya, you kept talking over me." He then proceeded to tell me that I needed to drive to the rest area because he can't change the tire on the side of the road??? I told him my tire was now completely flat and undrivable. He told me, " it doesn't matter the damage is already done". I'm thinking the tire yes, but not my actual wheel and rim? I'm assuming owning a towing business requires average or better knowledge of cars and their workings but this was the advice given to me. The rest area was 4.9 miles away via google maps. Obviously I was not going to do this so I called my husband who then began the 90 minute drive to come and assist me. About 10 minutes before he arrived a New York Help Assistance vehicle pulled up. The gentleman driving Informed me that New York offers free highway road assistance as a courtesy in efforts of preventing roadside accidents. He provide me with a card, told me I didn't need to get out of the car and had the tire changed in 10 minutes just as my husband was arriving. Weird the man from tow boss didn't mention this as he is in the towing business and a resident of NY. Instead he suggested I dangerously drive my handicapped car miles on a flat. I only hope this man's wife, sister or daughter find someone with more kindness and forthrightness if they happen to be in a similar situation. My car slid over a hill into a ditch stopped by a tree. I used my car insurance app to get roadside assistance. The app said within an hour Tow Boss would arrive. Mike came within 30minutes or so and towed out my car. Mike explained to his boss Matt what the damage was looking like. Mike even entertained my child who was all in the mix LOL and offered to help take items out my car. I spoke to the owner Matt who was very helpful and informative in explaining what I should do to save money as well as go through my insurance to obtain a rental if needed. Matt connected me to his wife Michelle who was also informative and helpful in walking me through the process of what would happen if my car was deemed total loss when seen by an adjuster. Michelle took the burden off my hand by calling my insurance personally and handling my claim. She called as soon as she was done speaking with my insurance. They gave me a claim#. When coming to obtain my property from the car, Matt met me outside and offered to help remove my plates. Overall I highly recommend Tow Boss. They are professional, efficient, timely, helpful, informative, kind & pleasant. Thank you so much. The doors weren't opening and he was like "shrug emoji" lol! And then I drove car around the block a few times but then it wouldn't start again. Tow Boss Towing & Recovery Inc. severely damaged the suspension on our car by mounting their jack on a rear trailing arm. The Manager was rude, defensive and refused to consider any responsibility. Their drivers appear to be untrained and uninterested in serving others. Tow Boss's driver arrived and immediately began trying to lift our car by setting a floor jack under the boat hitch. Even though the car was on a slight grade, he did not set chockes under the wheels to keep the car from rolling. When the boat hitch began to bend, I asked him to stop and try something different. He then pushed the dolly further under the car and caught the mid point of the trailing arm of the suspension. I left to take a phone call and when I returned he was preparing to leave, saying the lug nuts were rusted on and he could not help me. I then asked him to pump air into the tire. He put enough air in the tire for me to drive to Rodaks Auto Repair where their mechanic had no trouble removing the lugs and showed me the damaged trailing arm. read more

Dan from towboss saved my day!!! I have a Tahoe that is nose in my garage... My truck was totally dead. Dan came with his charger got it to fully charge but we couldn't get it to start because the key fobs could not found by computer..Everything is computerized with this 2022 Chevy Tahoe! He did say he was going to have to drag my truck out of the garage and I was not going to let that happen for sure. So he stayed with me and helped me look up on every possible link to get my car working. It may have taken him more than his dispatcher wanted but he did it and he got my car srarted!!!I appreciate it so much because when I called the car dealer they said my car could be towed there but they wouldn't get to it until one day next week!!! I wish i could give this establishment negative stars for the poor customer service i received. On April 14th 2019 and around 12:09pm. My 2008 Jeep Patriot caught a flat in the Fishkill Hopewell area. I called Geico to provide me with emergency road side assistance. It should be noted that this same issue happened to me a few months back with my rear passenger wheel. The previous tow man was able to remove all nuts from the wheel without major issues he did have to alternate between 17 and 18 and 19 sized pieces to remove the nuts. (If your a Tow man you should come prepared with all tools necessary to provide a service period.) The man from Tow Boss calls me and immediately sets the expectation that he cannot do the job by stating that if he can't get the wheel off I'd have to get towed. His set arrival time was for 1:18 and he arrived later around 1:30. The man tried to take of one bolt and did not come prepared with the necessary tools to do the job. He immediately tells me that he cannot take the wheel off so i give push back and say "can you at least try harder the last guy was able to take it off, do you have other pieces to take the nuts off" He says "no" and demonstrates with the same piece that it won't come off. He starts saying "i know your upset about it but just call geico and have them get you towed, i have two other calls" The man arrived in a tow bed truck he could have towed me to a near by mavis 3.8 miles away from the site where my flat happened. Instead he decided to be rude and say specifically "good luck finding another tow I'm the only one in the area and if you call i won't tow you" I proceeded to call geico to have another tow man come to me. The provider was nice and tried multiple attempts to contact Tow Boss Towing & Recovery but he declined every call. After waiting nearly 3 hours for a tow i was forced to call AllTow trucking who miraculously provided the best customer service and even had geico call him to have the payments be transferred over to him instead. This man was sent from heaven. He came from Fishkill to my location and took me to mavis in hopewell where they were able to take the wheel off that the man at Tow Boss Barely looked at and put the spare on and the man at mavis made sure to tell me that the bolts were not stripped he easily was able to take them off. I do not recommend this establishment, i feel like the only thing keeping them open is convenience. read more

Not only did it cost $300 for less than a 10 mile tow but i was told by the owner my car couldn't be driven because it had no coolant and the tranny was messed up and the car was basically totalled. But he would do me a favor and only charge me the tow and he'd junk it. I had a bad feeling about him so i decided to get it towed to my mechanic. By the time i was able to find someone to tow it (no one wanted to deal with him and i was definitely not paying him another $300 to tow it again) it cost me $85 a day for 2 days of storage, come to find out my car was fine with just some body damage. Last night I needed roadside assistance as my wife's tire blew out. I contacted my insurance company and they referred my case to Tow Boss. Tow boss was 1/2 hour late. Their technician tired to loosen one lug nut and gave up. He told my wife the lug nuts were stripped. He seemed disinterested and told my wife he had another call. What about the call he was on. Am I chopped liver? There was a woman in the tow truck riding with him. Was he more interestred in her than servicing my car? He eventually came back after 1 hour and towed my car to my mechanic. My mechanic removed the damaged tire without a problem. My mechanic told me the lug nuts were fine. I have complained to my insurance company. Appers the Tow Boss tech did not feel like jacking up my care in order to get to the spare tire which is stored underneath my SUV. My insurance company paid Tow Boss for a tow at 7 miles which is undoubatly more money than chanding a tire. This was a very unsatisfactory experience. read more

He, the owner, had my car less than 30 min. before I picked it up & he charged me $85 for storage !!!!! I was on the phone with the woman working there as he was taking my car in. Told them I would be there in minutes to get my car but he still charged me $85 storage!!! You are probably asking why I used him but it was not by choice! My car was parked somewhere it shouldn't have been. I was not home & 5 min away when my son called me to say our car was being towed. I told my son to tell the tow guy I would be right home that it would only take me 5 min. to get there. He asked my son if he had the key & of course my son, polite as he is, went in & got the key thinking maybe the guy would give us a break but of course he didn't. Having the key made it easier for him to get my car on his truck & then he drove away. When I got home, my son said I missed him by 5 min!!! I can even understand him not wanting to wait but to charge me $310 to go 5 MILES & $85 FOR STORAGE! What a crook! I called 4 other places in the Fishkill area the next day to get a price for a tow to go 5 miles & the MOST expensive one was $110 & the cheapest $85! Last night while driving back home to NYC my car shut off on me and my fiance. We were stuck on the side of the road in the dark. We called our insurance company to have our car towed. Everything seem fine when they arrived to tow the car. We told the driver we will need to have the car towed to my parents house in the town of Poughkeepsie. He convinced us to tow the car to Tow boss so he can have his mechanic look at the car. He assured us numerous time that he knew what the issue was and that will only cost us $185. When we told him maybe it would be better that we tow the car to my parents house again. He got all excited as if he was doing us a favour and advised us that his guy is the best and has the best price. He then proceeded to say my guy has already ordered the parts for the car. Really?? How can you order parts for a car you have not even seen yet. we knew he was lying. Of course when we called to talk to the mechanic the next day the story changed from price went from $185 to $600. We understand the company was just doing its job as the officer directed. However when we asked if the owner would wait 30 mins for a husband to arrive he became hostile. We even offered to pay their addition $85 fee for his time. But to be blatantly disrespectful to women in front of children to intimidate them is not the way to run a business. Tow company is looking to make money!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAUTION TO THOSE LIVING IN THE VILLAGE AT MERRIT PARK IN FISHKILL NY. Village at Merritt Park has a contract with these individuals to tow cars in unauthorized parking spots. This company towed a car in a spot that was not clearly marked as a tow zone. There are only 4 spot on the property that are subject to tow and only 3 of them are marked. In addition to paying $225 for the tow, I also paid $85 for storage which was only for 1/2 hr. Apparently the website states that they are open 24 hrs but yet I got charged and after hours pick up fee for an additional $65 for a Grand Total of $375. Not to mention they were not open July 4th so I had no choice but to pay the after hours pick up fee. In addition, it is a fee of $85 per day for each day the car is stored. So I Could have paid an additional $85. This company tries to screw people. For a 1/2 hr worth of work they made $375. Then came back at 7PM knowing that they were closed to make more money, BE CAREFUL OF SCUMBAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
