60 years in Sacramento! An incredible place with excellent Cigars, Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. You'll be glad you stopped by. -Anthonyxibarrax

This has been a favorite and iconic place for cigar smokers for decades now. It has a rustic and unique feel to it.......down to earth, historic, hometown, personal and cozy. You can't miss that amazing aroma of aging cigars when you first set foot in there. Though the size of the store is quaint and small, they made perfect use of the limited space by placing the humidor along the entire side wall, and packing it with a large variety of cigars. They've got the a lot of the well known brands and some more independent or lesser known brands. I used to get Opus X cigars there, but unfortunately they aren't able to receive them anymore. Argh!!! They also sell pipes, humidors, accessories, and tobacco. My purchase was a ACID Kuba Kuba maduro, Arturo Fuente Double CHateau, and an Arturo Fuente cigarillo type (I think this one is machine made, and they used short filler.) i thought the prices were a bit too high. The Kuba Kuba and Fuente were about $12-$14. You can find them online for about half that or so. The fuente cigarillo was $4, but again, i think it was more like a machine made cigarillo then a real cigar. I like to purchase individual cigars at a local shop, just to try them out, and then go online to get a 5 pack of the ones i like best. It's a great way to randomly try out new cigars before investing in a 5 pack. Out of all 3, The ACID Kuba Kuba, was the best and a pleasant surprise. The super strong aroma, and sweet flavor was awesome. Because the aroma of the Kuba Kuba is so strong, you have to keep it separate from the other cigars or else they will absorb the powerful smell and possibly change the flavors of the other cigars in the humidor. Thanks......will be back to try more! Who says we have to be miserable during the corona virus.....stop by Tower Pipes and Cigars, stock up on stogies, and kick back at home while you "Shelter in Place".

What really sets this place apart is the customer service. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help you find exactly what you're looking for or recommend something new to try. Whether you're grabbing something quick or shopping for a special occasion, this is my go-to spot. Highly recommend!

A young Black man was standing in line, waiting his turn. The clerk, Chris (he loudly identified himself by name during the confrontation), told him to step aside because he was going to help the customer behind him first. The man looked confused and made a facial expression questioning why, but he didn't say a word. When it was finally his turn, he asked for his drink. Chris immediately responded, "Why are you giving me a hard time?" even though the customer hadn't argued or said anything. Chris then asked for his ID, adding that he "didn't have time" because "the cops were just in there." As the customer reached into his sock to retrieve his ID, Chris repeatedly said, "If you don't have it, I can't serve you." The customer placed his ID on the counter without saying anything. Chris then repeated, "I don't know why you're giving me a hard time." Throughout this entire interaction, the customer remained quiet and never became confrontational. My friend, who was next in line, calmly told Chris there was no reason to be so aggressive because the customer hadn't given him a hard time. Chris replied, "I work downtown. I have to be." I then pointed out that the customer had simply been getting his ID while Chris continued escalating the situation. I added, "You get the energy you give." Chris responded by saying, "It's always you people," and then began shouting at us across the store. When we told him that statement was racist and completely inappropriate, he became even more upset. At that point, I told him I no longer wished to purchase anything from the store. As we were leaving, the customer thanked us for standing up for him. No one deserves to be treated with that level of disrespect, especially when they had done nothing to provoke it. What was equally disappointing was that none of Chris's coworkers attempted to de-escalate the situation, correct his behavior, or apologize while he continued yelling across the store. Whether this behavior reflects Chris alone or the standards of this business, it was completely unacceptable. Customers should be treated with professionalism and basic respect. Based on what I witnessed, I will not be returning.
