Great burger. This was our first time here. Nice corner bar with lots of TVs. Menu is VERY limited (why the 4 stars). We both had burgers and they were really good, maybe great for that type of burger. Rolls we're fresh and it was actually cooked how I asked, medium rare. My husband got his medium and mine was definitely a little more pink. Usually it doesn't matter what you ask for, you get medium well. Not here! Thank you for listening. The real hit though we're the fries! They done to perfection in clean oil! Most places like this, you can tell they haven't cleaned the fry-a-lator in a awhile. The service was amazing. Food came out so fast like they anticipated our order. The place was t crowded and they didn't mind that we sat and took our time. We didn't feel rushed at all but we're also very well looked after. The drink prices were very fair. A little cheaper than other boogie type bars, so that was great. And, they were actually strong drinks. Many bars do not really give you a double when you ask for them. My only complaint, as with most places, is that drinks with soda in them do not belong in pub glasses. The shape of the glass makes the soda go flat. However, I do realize that bars are not going to also carry a large pint size glass that is cylindrical. I try to get past this because the alternative is usually a very small, narrow glass that doesn't work well for a double shot and sofa. We'll be back to try the wings! read more

I've been coming here for 5 years, the staff has always been accommodating to me and my friends. The bartenders are very personable, funny and attentive. I've read some of these reviews and I have to say just because someone had one bad night doesn't give you the right to bash people online and make a great local bar seem like a shit place. (especially when I know most of you still go in because I was there the nights 2 of these reviews happened) I went in after a texmex tiki party and they were extremely busy and yet I didn't wait longer than 10 min for a drink. The staff was great at making sure everyone was being helped and had drinks in their hand even though they were basically getting their asses handed to them. For the door staff they are doing their job, which is to keep you safe. So the no weapons, is for their safety and your own. Their food is decent for bar food. But again it's a sports bar so what do you expect?! But if you're looking to have a good time with friends I suggest this place. read more

This is apparently "the place to be" in Lansdale. Therefore, all the d-bags hang out there. First you try to order a drink, that takes about 20 minutes, because you had to stand behind a bunch of other people, and the bartenders either don't see you or pretend not to...you finally get your drink, and you realize the acoustics inside are awful. You can barely hear yourself think, let alone try to hold a conversation with the people you are with. So then you go outside, where 40+ people are squeezed onto a small patio, trying to smoke cigarettes, or avoid the headache inducing noise inside. If you decide to tough it out and and stay, eventually the d-bags show up. These people are fine until they get drunk, then they get loud, and on multiple occasions, will try to start a fight with people you are with. I've never eaten here because as hard as it is to order a drink, I can just imagine how long it takes to get food. The best bet is to stay away, unless you like loud noise, waiting forever for a drink, and drunk people who think very highly of themselves. read more

It's a real shame how Yelp uses there filtering system to make it extremely difficult for small business to showcase there happy customers. I am one of those HAPPY customers. I am originally from the Hatfield area and used to go to Montella's about 3 times a month. But since I only have 100 friends and 10 reviews they throw mine right to the filter. Yet, all the 1 start comments stick when they have literally just made there account? something isn't right here. Since my last review didn't stick I thought I would give it another shot Don't worry Montella's. I got U. Me and a group of friends would normally go to Montella's 2 to 3 times each month.They have a nice deck out front you walk up in order to get in. Its on the smaller size but it is a very warm, welcoming atmosphere. There happy hours were always spot on. 3$ burger and fries with cheap drinks. Cant beat it. We would also go for trivia night. We never won but it was just one other thing you could do while you were there. I thought it was a great how they connect with there customers.Darts was another popular game we would partake in there. All the above is great. But the number ONE thing that makes Montella's stand out is there customer service. The Bar tenders are beyond friendly. They are very quick and are extremely friendly. I came to this place a few days ago. It was my first and last time I'll be going there. I sat at a table for just over 5 minutes before any of the staff even acknowledged me. I realized they were too busy tending to the regulars and not caring about the others coming in. After I put my order in, I waited about 30 minutes for my burger to come out. Both the burger and fries were about room temperature when I got them, so my food obviously sat for a minute. It didn't taste horrible, I just wish it was served a little warmer than I had gotten it. I was here almost an hour and a half for a burger, fries and a drink. When I was walking in, I noticed the "All weapons including concealed firearms are prohibited on these premises" sign. We live about 4 blocks away, so we end up here for a drink every couple of weekends or so. Its cheap-ish, if you go for what's on special, and it has a jukebox and decent bartenders. Tons of tvs to watch the game. A good place to get fairly wasted- it's not uppity so you don't end up feeling like a jerk if you get a little overserved. But I wouldn't come here to eat or on a date- the food pretty much stinks, unless you are happy with just half-decent wings. Its way too loud to enjoy a proper meal, and it gets FULL. Often enough there's some obnoxious drunks at the bar & on the patio - doesn't bother me if I'm one of them, but like I said I would only come here to drink. read more

A solid 3 star joint. I have come here 3 times and all three times they have failed to get my order correct. They fixed it the first two, the third I was too hungry to care. Staff is attentive, the selection is average. If you need a place to hang and don't really care where you end up, this is as good as any. I like Montella's. The staff are super friendly and provide good service. It can get pretty packed on the weekend nights, but what do you expect at a popular bar? They run really good sports specials and have good food specials during the week. My favorite is Monday night $3 cheesesteaks. They are full size and good! There are lots of tvs, so this is probably best for sports. The food is good. It's bar food, nothing fancy, but they do it well and quickly. The porch is nice to sip a beer and watch the traffic roll by. read more

We decided to check this place out because it was close. The bartender was slow, unless you were a regular. Menu is decent, prices were good. We decided to go with the daily (not sure if limited to happy hour or not) special - a cheesesteak (or chicken cheesesteak) and chips for $3. It was a nice sized portion for the price, but we both woke up sick (stomach) the next day. Not sure if quality of meat was to blame or maybe pre-made and sat out too long, but either way... Bartender was friendly but not very attentive (again, unless you were a regular). Drinks were strong and reasonably priced. We probably won't be returning. I spend alot of time in lansdale and montella's is right near the heart of downtown lansdale by the intersection of broad and main st. I visit this pub at least once or twice a month and have been since it opened. I have broken down the review into several catagories that i think might be helpful in determining if you should make montella's a place you visit or not. Food: 7.5/10 They have a standard basic menu of typical bar food which is a little "blah" but they sprinkle in a few treats such as the fried brocelli bites, or the royal burger. All of the food is cooked above average and comes with a generous portion of fries. Drink: 8/10 Montella's beer selection is similar to their menu, a little "blah", but they have enough to warrent an above average selection. Beer is always cold and glasses are clean, mixed drinks are pretty stiff and made correctly. Specials: 8/10 Great drink specials here for the sports fan. Montellas offers specials for almost all philly sports events. Some as cheap as 1.75 pints of budweiser for phillies games. They have decent food specials as well, and i cannot speak on behalf of their happy hour because i havent attended yet. Atmospher: 6.5/10 A dinning area greets you when you first walk in, always clean and neat. The bar is a rectangle and plenty of seating is availbile. They have a game section located in the back which is nice to stretch out and throw some darts. It is an old building so it has a neat architecture but sometimes on a friday or saturday night can get crowded due to the narrow nature of the building. They have an outdoor deck/patio that is heated in the winter and looks out over broad street. This deck is smoker friendly which is a big plus for a lot of people and they have no problem with you brining drinks outside. The only knock is the DJ on weekend nights, he is not good.. Service: 9/10 Montella's is always clean and neat inside and out. Their Bathrooms are in great shape too. The door staff is polite and professional without flexing their muscles to prove any points. Bartenders here are attentive and knowlegable with drinks which makes for a better expereince. Overall: 7.8/10 Good local spot if you plan on hanging out locally and keeping it low key. The cheap drinks and outside patio go a long way in making this place casual and easy to drink at. If you are looking to party and make something happen, this probably isnt your place. read more

Just wanted to share an experience that my friend and I had here. We were here having a good time when I was approached by a guy who wanted to dance with me. I politely told him I wasn't interested, but this was not an answer he wanted to hear. We went back and forth for probably about 5 minutes in which he was telling me and my friend we should be able to dance with each other no strings attached and getting annoyed with us that we didn't want to have anything to do with him. He then began to get loud with my friend and I (two females) and my friend went and got the bouncer (Zander.) At this point we were being separated and the guy reached out and struck his fingers up my face and was shouting "Fuck you" over and over again. My friend and I were waiting for this gentlemen to be removed at our request because at this point he was drunk and obviously ok with putting his hands on people. No one escorted him out. Instead let him stay and have a good time. We told 3 different bouncers, no one did anything because this customer was a "regular" and spent a lot of money. We even spoke to a manager who then told us that he didn't know who to believe and that "girls always make up crazy stories like this". My friend has been coming to this place for over three years and has never had any issues, but that apparently doesn't matter if you are having issues with a big spender! So if you are looking for a place to feel safe going out and having a good time as females, this isn't the place for you, because even if something happens, no one will do anything to help you, or even believe you. read more

Food was great and priced right. Service was really good and very friendly. Best Antipasto salad in years. Would go more often if it werent for all the dreadful smoking right outside the door that you have to walk through coming and going. It stinks, but to be sure, its right outside the door, not in the building. Also, the noise level/acoustics is really bad. They could use some carpeting on the lower half of the walls to absorb the loud noise. Even some tri-fold screening of material will do the same. Easy fix! Brand new and shiny. Loud as hell on a Friday night, even in the dining area. Food was good quality and prep. Prices reflect that they spent some money on shining the place up. Boneless wings were weak - varied sizes with some very small, and bleu cheese and celery were both extra and not marked so on the menu. Only 25¢ each more, but it's the principle! Good flavor and moistness, though. My burger was actually cooked to my order and moist, a rarity. The DC's antipasto was reported to be tasty and was big enough for her to get another lunch. All in all a 3.5 based on price and an undersized a la carte appetizer. Rounded up on quality and the fact that we'll probably go again, though on a different night of the week. Well, I didn't get to go into Montella's Pub because they do not have a parking lot to accommodate the bar that they have. Which is by far the dumbest thing ever! Who honestly has a brand new pub and then makes a parking lot that fits 6 cars? I have never heard of that! So I could not get into the lot because across the street were police cars and ambulances and once I pulled into the lot, and the 6 spots they have were all taken up (crazy, right? I mean who would of thought a new pub in Lansdale and they only have a parking lot for 6 guests) If your handicap I would not go here unless you want to find a spot and walk. Anyway, pulled into the parking lot and could not get out because I was blocked in and by that point I just left. It's a good local hangout/sports bar sort of place. Good selection of beers, full bar, lots of big TVs. It's kept clean, and the food is good bar food with good portions - you'll be satisfied. Dining room service is usually pretty quick, bar service much slower. When it's busy it can be hard to get a drink, even if you're sitting at the bar, and the place does definitely get busy. They often have DJs, good and loud, and sometimes enough critical mass to get dancing going. So, if you're out and looking to have a few drinks and a good time, definitely worthwhile. I've only been a resident of Lansdale for about 7 years. Overall, if you aren't a teacher or don't work for Merck (which I am neither), this town doesn't exactly welcome you with open arms. Montellas is the only place I've found where everyone is really friendly. Most times my husband and I go there for a few drinks after work and it usually is busy but not crazy. All the bartenders are super nice and make a damn good cosmo. I like it there. Food is good. What do you expect for bar food? Prices are reasonable. read more
