Ok, a friend of mines recommended me to this office after I had the WORST experience at another office. Much needed help with my wisdom tooth, I went in, explained my situation and got seen. They sent me all the boring paperwork much ahead of time (which I never done before) and that eliminated so much of that awkward time just sitting in the lobby filling out a clipboard. So I was seen QUICK! Met the doctor and her staff. All great! The XRay tech, amazing! The ladies at the front desk, amazing! After being seen, they decided to get my wisdom extracted immediately. Gave me some meds to help with the pain till the appointment and when I got there early, same thing, quick process, sent to the back. Met the surgeon and his staff, they knew I was nervous but they said it'll be over before I knew it. And, I'll be damn but it was over before I knew it! Being wheeled out to the car with no memory or pain. Resting up on now the day after, and still NO pain. I gotta say, I've been to many different dentist in the past 10 years and I must say, best DOCTOR visit ever. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with the office manager was concerning enough that I feel other patients should be aware. Let me start by saying that the dentists in this office are excellent. Dr. Fernandez was professional, knowledgeable, and provided great clinical care. Unfortunately, the quality of the dental treatment was overshadowed by the behavior and practices of the front office manager, Nicole. I came to this office for an emergency visit after a filling fell out because my regular dentist was unavailable until July. After my evaluationi, I agreed to have a crown placed. The total cost was $766, and I paid $700 at my first visit. I was told to pay the remaining $66 when I returned because the office could not provide change. When I returned two days later for my crown placement, I briefly went to the restroom, As soon as I came back, Nicole said, "I thought you ran away already." I was shocked by the comment. I had already paid $700 toward my treatment, so implying that I would somehow disappear over the remaining $66 was not only inappropriate but also disrespectful. No patient should be spoken to that way. What bothered me even more was what happened regarding the crown warranty. Before I agreed to treatment, Nicole specifically told me the crown came with a 5-year warranty if it broke or came off. That reassurance was one of the reasons I felt comfortable moving forward. However, after the crown was already cemented, she suddenly informed me that the warranty would only be honored if I continued receiving my dental care at their office. This critical condition was never disclosed before treatment. I only came here because of an emergency and already have an established dentist. When I questioned this policy, I was told they could not guarantee the work if another dentist monitored my dental health. As someone who works in healthcare, I found that explanation extremely misleading. Patients have the right to choose their healthcare providers. A warranty should not be used as leverage to force patients to remain with a practice they never intended to join in the first place. The pressure did not stop there. Because I genuinely liked Dr. Fernandez and wanted to support the practice, I agreed to schedule a cleaning. After X-rays were taken, Nicole--not the dentist--told me I needed a deep cleaning immediately and that it would cost approximately $600 out of pocket. I was informed that a regular cleaning was not an option and felt pressured to commit to treatment on the spot. Whether a patient needs a deep cleaning should be a discussion led by the dentist or hygienist, with the patient given the opportunity to ask questions and make an informed decision. Instead, the interaction felt more like a sales presentation than a healthcare consultation. What is even more concerning is what happened afterward. Due to my experience, I immediately scheduled an appointment with my regular dentist at her earliest availability and had her review the same situation. After evaluating my X-rays, my dentist told me that I DONT NEED A DEEP CLEANING. Hearing two completely different recommendations from two offices was alarming and raised serious questions for me about whether the treatment recommendation was truly based on clinical necessity or FINANCIAL INCENTIVE. Patients trust that they will provide honest recommendations that are in their best interest. When a patient is told they need a costly procedure immediately, only to be told by their long-term dentist that the procedure is unnecessary, that should give anyone a PAUSE. My overall impression is that the clinical team genuinely cares about patients, but the front office management appears far more focused on retaining patients and generating revenue than on transparency and patient choice. Listen to what everyone else is saying. Do NOT go to this dentist. They charged me for so many things I did not agree to, like when I said I didn't need X-rays, they said they were "covered" and did them anyways. They also said I needed a deep cleaning and that my gums were receding because the lady who was cleaning them poked them, made them bleed, and then was going to charge me for antibiotics. I've been going to this dentist office for quite some time in the beginning. It was great service and always great being there over the last couple of years. The service has gone down. I was in the office yesterday afternoon and the hygienist suggested that my daughter who is 16 years old, get a fluoride treatment. I declined the treatment. The hygienist asked me repeatedly over and over as to why I didn't want the fluoride. Did it have to do with money because this is something necessary I said that she was making me feel uncomfortable, and I asked that she stopped requesting that I put something on my child's teeth that I was not comfortable with. She then walked out of the room in about 10 minutes later I was told that the hygienist was not comfortable and that we would not be seen mind you the hygienist was 45 minutes late to the appointment and the next booked appointment wasn't until that I was available wasn't until July. I'm a little bit disappointed and always when we go to this office. Our appointments are about 45 minutes late all the time, but we are asked to be a timely. I called the office today to discuss my situation and lo and behold. There was nobody who could take my call I was I was told to call back on Monday to speak to the office manager I requested if there was somebody else who could just listen to my concern, and I was told again that the person was out until Monday. read more

Beware of this place as well as their other office also in Santee (Santee Town Center Dental Group). They are both HUGE scammers!!!! They both say you need work that you don't need to have. They both refuse to do regular cleanings and require you to get a deep cleaning. My husband and I both went to another dentist for a second opinion and sure enough neither of us needed a deep cleaning. I was told by the sister office that I needed two root canals and three crowns for thousands of dollars. Well the second opinion stated I needed no root canals, no crowns and replaced the fillings that fell out. I have had several expensive procedures done at this office. Now in the last year and a half I have had to go to other dental providers to fix the errors from Towne Centre Dental. Last year while on vacation one of my crowns fell out. I found a great provider in Kansas City to repair the lost crown. He was not surprised that my crown fell out because of the extremely poor prep work on the affected tooth prior to attaching the crown. Now, today I went to a new office in town that my mother has been using for years. They discovered that the two root canals and crowns that were done are now abscessed and I need tooth extractions and implants. I was at Towne Center Dental six months ago and no mention of these issues came up. They did recommend an expensive laser gum treatment that I declined. In addition to the two abscessed teeth, two of the other crowns that I had done have decay under the crowns which needs to be treated and new crowns put in. This is going to cost in excess of $12,000 all because of poor past treatment. read more

Too bad I can not give this dishonest business a zero star. My wife went there for the 1st time through our insurance. They were supposed to do a basic cleaning and examination for zero copay. Instead they without my wife's knowledge did a full x ray exam. They did not clean but proposed thousands of dollars of work that the next dentist says was not needed. Then this criminal enterprise billed us $900.00 for the exam. When I called in they called my wife who does not speak english approved. When pushed Towne Center Dentist called my wife authorized the exam in writing. When the insurance company called they could not find the paper she supposed to have signed. Take this to heart this business is garbage as they think their are no rules Just remember this could be you so stay far away and go to a reputable dentist I am hoping they try to collect because I have a surprise for them. I had a very disappointing experience at Town Center Dental Group. I went in for their new patient special, but after the X-rays and exam, I was told I didn't qualify for their discounted cleaning. Instead, they recommended several treatments that were vague and focused on potential issues in the future--not immediate concerns. It felt like they were using scare tactics to push unnecessary services, and the whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth, literally. I decided to get a second opinion from another local dentist offering a similar new patient special. None of the "future problems" that Town Center Dental warned me about were even mentioned, and I was able to get the normal cleaning at the discounted rate as promised. What really confirmed my suspicions about their sales tactics was when I requested my exam notes, recommended treatments, and cost breakdown in writing, but after sending three emails and making two phone calls, I never received a response. It was clear they didn't want to provide documentation that could be questioned by another dentist. It felt like Town Center Dental Group was more focused on selling me unnecessary treatments than actually providing honest care. I switched my 3 kids to this office due to an insurance change. I immediately got a "scammy" vibe when they recommended extra, pricey, extensive cleanings instead of their normal cleanings (our previous, TRUSTED dentist always said their teeth looked great). At the next cleaning, they said my daughter needed a filling and that my copay would be $132. I contacted my insurance with the code that Town Center was submitting for the work. My insurance said that my copay should be $30, not $132. When I asked the receptionist at the office about the discrepancy, she argued they were using an upgraded filling and insisted I pay the $132 before I leave. She said my insurance only covered the old metal amalgam fillings, and that for the porcelain ones it would be more. I asked her to please get the insurance company on the phone so we could verify the copay amount and what should be covered. She was obviously irritated with me and became rude and snippy. When she'd been on the phone with insurance for about 15 minutes, I walked up to the counter to hopefully be included in the conversation, but was asked "Do you have a question?" and dismissed to go back and sit down. After another 10 minutes, she called me over, stuck her hand out for my credit card, and said "It'll be $30". I asked what the insurance company had said and she was dismissive and made excuses about how they had my daughter's "old" plan information (though there was no old plan, this is new insurance for us.) There was no eye contact, no "Oops, I'm so sorry, it actually WAS supposed to be $30", no apology, just really bad customer service. We will NOT be back! Oh, and they don't do preventative sealants at this office. When I asked to have two of her teeth sealed (at the recommendation of our TRUSTED dentist when I took her for a 2nd opinion) they said they don't do sealants. Seems to me they prefer not to help prevent cavities, must be more profitable to fill them. Seems that many others have had the same experience. Tower Central Dental can't be trusted! read more

I am a new patient with this group. The first step was x-rays. My blood pressure was taken, demonstrating that I was in the hands of a competent and professional staff. Every staff member treated me with courtesy and respect. Each member explained the procedures thoroughly so I clearly understood what they would do and why. They fit me into their busy schedule once it was determined that I needed a deep cleaning of my teeth. I left the office with a plan of care that will hopefully eliminate or at least, improve my periodental problem. The receptionist set me up with future appointments that fit my schedule. No one likes going to the dentist, but this is the worst dentist in my life and I'm 67 years old. I needed a filing. I've had metal filings and epoxy filings, but I never had to make 4 visits and 10 hours for this new 3D filing. The filing popped out twice because I was flossing. I had a hole in my teeth and the dentist kept canceling appointments. Now I need a crown. They tried to match my tooth color, but failed miserably. They suggested making a new one, but really, no one is going to look that deeply in my mouth and I just wanted the torture to end. Now a day later my mouth still hurts because of the numerous x-rays and the incompetence of the assistant who damage my lip so much that I have open sores. I hate changing dentists because they always try to upsell you on their new preferences but I'm switching now. read more

These people are crooks! My wife went in to have a routine cleaning and establish care for the first time. They provided x-rays and consultation as any first time patient would expect. They told her based on her x rays she needed a crown and root canal and refused to even clean her teeth until she had the work done. They told her they could schedule it "next day" and created a sense of urgency like any sales person would do. Growing up in a family with Dentists, I recognized the cash grab right away and we elected not to go back. A year later my wife visited another dentist in the area and they said she didn't need a crown or root canal, but rather two fillings. I went in as a new patient today -- should have taken the reviews seriously beforehand. They refused to do a prophylactic cleaning and instead insisted on an invasive "deep cleaning" that would require novocaine, fancy lasers that would kill the bacteria in the "pockets" below the gums and a special antiseptic irrigation (i.e., mouthwash). I told them I was very skeptical and asked for published evidence in a peer-reviewed medical journal demonstrating that this type of treatment is efficacious, which they ignored. After the accountant came in to review how much it would cost, I literally jumped out of the chair. In retrospect, it now makes sense why they took my blood pressure when I first arrived (never experienced that before at a a dental office). read more

The quality of care by the practicing dentist was wonderful. But where I have to criticize the company is their payment practices. My wife recently had her wisdom teeth removed, and when it came time for payment options, the front desk receptionist forced us to open a credit care even after we deliberately asked her not to. Now we have to close a credit card we did not want and it's going to affect our credit score. I have never seen this practiced and it should only be a normal practice to those who want to proceed with this option. But if it's forced onto the customer, then this is a very predatory practice. I cannot recommend taking your business elsewhere enough until they change this practice. read more

I would give this office zero stars if that was an option. I should have done better research before giving this office a try, as the issues I had are very similar to those that have been reported in these reviews - namely, in my opinion, the office tried to overcharge, up-sell, and bully me into receiving treatments I both did not want and did not need. I take exceptional care of my teeth. I typically have them cleaned at the minimum every six months. I am further currently under continued and ongoing care for my invisalign with another incredible dentist, who has been monitoring my dental care on a very regular basis. I came to Town Center Dental Group for my x-rays and cleaning because they accept my insurance. Despite them telling me that my teeth are in excellent shape, no cavities, and nothing showing on my x-rays, they insisted that I go ahead with a "deep cleaning," and further recommended I undergo an irrigation and some other procedure, all of which I declined. They told me I didn't have to have the irrigation or other procedure they were recommending, but said that I had to pay, out-of-pocket, and have the "deep cleaning," otherwise they refused to provide a cleaning at all. I 100% know that I do NOT need a deep cleaning, and it is my absolute right to decline excess services over and above a regular cleaning. I even proposed that I sign something stating that I understand they are recommending this "deep cleaning," but that I, the patient, decline such services. Again, they refused to do my cleaning. It is my belief, based on my personal experience, that what this office tried to do today was dishonest, deceitful, and improper. I should also note that the hygienist performed an extremely painful exam while was allegedly trying to measure my gums, whereby she poked the gums of each tooth with a scalpel three times, front and back. I have never had anything like that done to me before. I cannot say if this was proper or improper, but I can say that it was painful and uncomfortable. Town center dental has been a lifesaver! I was having pain from all 4 of my wisdom teeth growing in at age 33!! (Previous dentist told me don't worry about them!) and was desperate to find someone to help. I was referred to this location and was very pleased. There was a very nice rep named Victoria who answered all my questions over the phone, scheduled my appts and assured me they will take good care of me. She even called and reminded me of my appt! When I finally made it to the day of extraction, I was nervous! But seeing Victoria again at check in helped calmed my nerves and the rest of the dentist staff made me feel comfortable as well. The procedure was in a blink of an eye (thank goodness for Anesthesia) lol and I woke up in a laughing mood and was treated with extra care on my way out! I def will be a forever patient! read more

I moved to Yuma, AZ 3 years ago and was on vacation from Yuma and had a tooth break..I went to this office and met the front office staff, Manager Nicole, receptionists Murisela and Teressa. Outstanding in their professionalism and in their competence. I was then led back to see Dr. Fernando, my dentist from years ago and she was as pleasant and competent as ever... Please understand this...I was NO longer a patient here, was not paying anything and they ALL did this for me. I asked if I could pay any cost out-of-pocket and they said "No Charge". I went to another dental group first and for my work I got a price of around $4,000 of which my part would have been around$2,000. Then I went to TOWN CENTER DENTAL GROUP for a second opinion. They wanted to charge over $10,000 dollars more of which my part would have been close to $8,000. I couldn't get out of there quick enough. And when I tried to talk with the dentist he just brushed me off. I will never go back and will try and warn everyone I can. And reading some of the other reviews I see they make a habit of doing work that doesn't need to be done and drastically over charging people. BE WARNED YOU DONT WANT TO GO HERE. They were very informative about my insurance. Told me the price at get go! Got a Exam appointment 2 days after I called. Receptionist, Tech. And Dentist very nice! very helpful, and Thoughtful. After morning appointment . They got me in that same afternoon for Deep cleaning, and prepped two broken teeth for crowns, and put the temporaries on. When leaving my original review for Town Center Dental group, I realized my Yelp had switched to a new account with my new phone. Anyway, for anyone considering a dental office to take their family to, I strongly advise against this office. I have taken my family here for over 10 years, and the last couple years it has been getting progressively worse with upselling, and billing peculiarities, but after today we will never be going back. The reviews do not lie, and I didn't realize it wasn't just me until I went to write my own. Had I known how bad it was getting for EVERYONE, I wouldn't have bothered scheduling my kids procedures with the office today; which the doctor canceled literally at the last second, after all of us taking the day off work to get this done. We followed every Covid procedure leading up to surgeries as directed, maintained continued communication with the office up to the morning of, only to have the doctor apparently change his mind. Ironically, right before my sons procedures were canceled, I had complained that the bill for the procedure was twice the out of pocket cost I was originally quoted. read more

I had a root canal done at this office about three years ago and it got re-infected. I went to another dentist this weekend for a check of the area and to see what was going on. New dentist showed me site x-ray of this office's work. They did not treat the other side of the original root canal area. They only treated one side. Who does that???? You know those pins they put in to replace the root, well those were only on one side. She (new dentist) has done other work for me and showed me what it should look like. DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE. OVER CHARGED me $6,000.00. I asked for copies of all of my procedures for the past years. Matched my codes to my dental coverage. I called my insurance, they did an audit. I received a BIG REFUND. Also, Dr. Fernando can't place crowns to make sure there is "NO GAPS" for bacteria to enter. My root canals all had to be replaced from bacteria entering from the crown "NOT" being placed correctly from an incompetent doctor. They get paid on production and need you to come back. They are NOT here for YOU! My new office had to place implants because Dr. Fernando can't place, glue a crown correctly. HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO PEOPLE! SHAME ON YOU! They are a greedy business, with little girls at the front desk that don't know how to do their job. They need to close or get sued! STAY AWAY! read more

This place years ago used to be a great cost effective dental office. I have been coming here for about 8 years, but now it is as expensive as it gets. My porcelain crown lasted 2 years and when I came in to have it repaired, they wanted to charge me 5x as mush as I previously paid. I was given 1 option and 1 option alone. I could not be more disgusted and turned off by an organization than I am right now. I will be looking elsewhere for myself and my family. If there was an option to give NEGATIVE stars, I would! This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had! I called this office last week for my 10-year-old son; he had a capped tooth that had fallen off. As I am a night shift RN, my mother called, stating she was his "Grandmother" and wanted to schedule an appointment for him. Several warning signs I should have taken into consideration, but I kept on as I knew that mouth/tooth pain is not fun to deal with. 1. When calling and saying that my son's cap fell off of his tooth and he needs to be seen as soon as possible, as with time would come pain. His tooth was exposed, and of course, he ended up being sent home from school with pain from the exposed tooth. Instead of accommodating an earlier appointment, they scheduled him out 7 days to be seen! His tooth ended up "falling out" on Tuesday because he couldn't handle the pain and pulled the tooth out on his own. 2. Obviously, it was not his "legal guardian" that scheduled his appointment, so imagine my surprise when they refused to see my son yesterday because they were "unaware" that someone other than his legal guardian was bringing him in to his appointment! They refused to see him but sent my sister, his Aunt, home with a release of liability to have me fill out and sign so she could take him. 3. I was able to take him to his appointment today. When I first arrive and tell them that I was there for his 1 pm appointment and that I work night shift and I rely on my family members to bring him to his day appointments, they pulled out the required documents and I filled them out and they said they would scan them in for both of my kids future appointments and that he would be called in "soon". We found a spot in there filled waiting room and waited. 45 minutes later I am trying to figure out why we were waiting without any update as why we were still waiting. 55 minutes waiting and I go up to the desk and ask if I need to reschedule. I am told that they were getting a room ready for my son to get his teeth cleaned, the wait shouldn't be any longer than 5 more minutes. So I sit down and wait again. He is called back to get X-rays. Then, they send my son out to get me, not the adult staff member! When in the room they pull up his X-rays and I had someone dropping off coffee as I have been waiting for over an hour to be seen. I told them that I was stepping and would be returning within minutes. I was outside of the building for a literal 2 minutes before receiving a call stating that my son was done and ready to go. I walk back in and ask if he was done with the cleaning to which they replied, "he was only here for a filling, not for a teeth cleaning." They went on to explain that he lost his tooth, like I didn't know that he had lost his tooth already 2 days ago! So I ask, why would they tell me that he is going to get his teeth cleaned if that wasn't the case to which they repeat he is here for a filling. Then I go on to ask, why didn't they give me the option to reschedule an hour earlier?!? The woman at the desk goes on to tell me that someone didn't show up for work today and that they were "short-staffed" as if it was MY fault! They called out the Dentist to speak with me to understand that my child didn't need a filling. When the Dentist came out, he again explained that my child's tooth fell out. I asked if there was any issues with the tooth underneath so that I could be sure that my son wouldn't experience further pain or if intervention was needed that we could start working on it now. I know that I must look or seem dumb, because it required multiple staff members to explain that his baby tooth had fallen out, which I had already been aware of for 2 days! I will never go back to this place, not willingly or not knowingly! I work in the medical field and am embarrassed that this is the care that is provided to me and my family! I can understand the basics of oral hygiene though, they obviously thought that I couldn't! I felt that I was lied to to get me to sit down and out of their faces, though, I should've been given the option to reschedule, determine if this visit was necessary since the tooth had already fallen out, respect for my time especially since they didn't have it to give! They knew when I had checked in that they were behind! I should've been given the option to reschedule! When checking in, they should've assessed my chief complaint to determine if this appointment was necessary, especially since they were already "short-staffed" and behind! I will not ever return myself, nor any of my family members due to their lying, deceit, and lack of customer service! Horrible experience! I had my first appointment here today. I was originally a referral for an endodontist appointment. The office is nice and clean. The endodontist was very friendly and put me at ease. He did a thorough exam and laid out options for me and was conservative in his approach which I appreciated and conscientious of costs. I was actually impressed with the staff there I decided to become a new client and had a follow-up appointment there later the same day to get a filling replaced and a cleaning. The front office staff are awesome and I had a great time chit chatting with them. They explained all the forms I was signing and took good care of me while I waited. I can honestly say I have never had as much fun at a dentist as I did today. Dr Ali Jadari and his crew are really funny and they do care about the service you get. They laid out options and didn't try to up sell me on anything (which is a first for me). I was so well cared for I am having my husband go in and I will totally refer them to anyone.
