This place was a disaster, first they lost a set of keys for a older woman's car, she waited for 2 hours thinking her car was being worked on, they had to get her a ride home and she had to wait until the next day for a locksmith to get her a new key. Second, I waited in another car in the back and the techs were driving the customers cars recklessly with no regard for their vehicles, it was ridiculous. Lastly all the monitors were off in the waiting area, so you couldn't see your vehicle being worked on, the reason for this was because they were smoking weed in the Bay Area, I know this because I saw them and smelled it, Branford Town Fair is a disaster, I'll never return. read more

Stopped in for a tire rotation, which would be free as a had previously bought my tires there. I was sold an alignment too - for $149. After the rotation/alignment was completed, I was told my rear disc brake pads had less than 3mm and that I required a brake job for $399. They created a diagram of the car with be bright yellow lines highlighting the trouble. I felt a bit pressured to get the brakes repaired right then at their next-door brake shop. Two days later, I got a second opinion at another shop. They told me my brakes had at least half of their life left. So sad this happened, previously I've had good service at Town Fair. After an unfortunate curb bang not a bump lol by my momma I noticed the tire had a chunk hanging on the side of it. Being concerned for my mother's safety I insisted that she take it to town fair in Branford. I explained the situation to Alberto he quickly came outside without any hesitation and fully checked the tire and told us it was absolutely fine and no issues to worry about. Came in for a nail in my tire. Called the day before and was told I'm much better off to schedule an appointment because I could be waiting for a long time. Came in a half hour early, just in case, and the garage had two cars in the 6 car Bay Area. watched people roaming around like there was nothing to do. Finally took the car in 45 minutes after the scheduled time, and still waited two and a half hours!! I've come here to buy tires for several cars over the years and it's always the same at this location, push me I'm coming work attitudes , takes hours to get the job done no matter what type of work! Great coordination between Candy, who called me back from town fair tire headquarters has instructed. I pulled into the back of the garage and was met by Aldo, Lead Tech who contacted Brian, assistant manager, who came out and coordinated the re-torquing of my wheels, even checked the tire pressure. Time to move on from this location, maybe company? They don't "beat anyone " New gimic is they will only match the tire price not the install price. This hasn't always been the case. Used to match BJ's, no longer. Straight up, $542 tire install at BJ's and the kid tried to charge me $811 then was pushing to get me to say yes. I liked going there because they do the alignment when needed. Just going to find someone else to do it. Watch these guys, will charge you the highest rate possible if you let them. read more

called in just for tires, told cash only for tire walkouts, came in did 4 tires and an alignment, during said service I saw over the video feed they literally provide in the lobby the technician proceeding to do the alignment before the new tires, went to the front desk to ask why, was told that it wouldn't make a difference if it was done before or after (mind you it does) waited 3 hours while watching the staff in the back lounge around and basically do jack shit but sit there with their dick in hand. complained about the alignment being off with my reasoning, they took the car back in and performed an alignment, first printout of the alignment was all green, but when I received it back it was in the red again (wonder why...) printout showed all green again for the measurements but once again the wheel was not centered... highly recommend any other shop or just go to your dealer instead, no money saved is worth shitty work. other comments: torqued tires while raised... staff crashing car into tire stack to fit car onto rack (visible thru camera feed) staff lazy and unprofessional GO ANYWHERE ELSE read more

Once again im reviewing town fair tire. They suck but i went back because theh are so close to my house its just easy. Well it should be easy. This time i went in for 2 tires, they didnt have them in stock , said they'd have them the next day and i made an appt for 2pm. I said am i waiting or dropping it off? They said with the appt i could wait. I showed up today and they had no record of my appt, didnt order the tires, nothing. Guy says who did u talk to? I said him over there. He goes and talks to the other guy and he knows nothing about it. I said it was just yesterday and he recognized my name , said he knows a relative. So no tires but they do have a more expensive one and i cant wait for the car i have to drop it off. I said i made the appt so i wouldnt have to drop it off. " well i dont know what to tell you". If I could give no stars, I would. This is my fourth time here in the past two weeks. First off, my tires were purchased here with a warranty and the miserable guy "kearnes?" Tries to charge me everytime. My first time here in the past two weeks, as I was waiting, a fight broke out amongst the employees. It sounded like it was the mechanics yelling at the guys inside for not taking their job seriously. My second time here, I waited for an hour for them to tell me they ran out of time for my appointment. The third time, two days ago, I was sent by a mechanic shop that they do business with. He told them three of my tires had nails in them and the plug that they did the week before, didn't fix the tire. The employee that I worked with explained to me that they would have to take all of the tires off and if they couldn't fix them, they would be replaced. I show up today for my appointment and am met with a nasty attitude by none other than "kearnes", big surprise there. I'm told that they're "not going to take off all of my tires". He goes to the computer and puts in that it's one tire! - one that he didn't even know which, so he guessed because he made it obvious to me that he couldn't see any nails. He then went to try to override the free flat fix until the manager came by and told him that they were covered AND after hearing that it was three tires, told him to fix the entry in the computer. After waiting for 2.5 hours, a mechanic came out to apologize for the long wait because he thought he already did my car but accidentally did another instead. I'm writing this now after waiting for 3 hours and still no car. I was going back and forth on whether or not to write this until I over heard other people in the waiting area talk about how awful of an experience they have every time that they're here. Corporate. This time however after explaining the problem I was talked down to and nothing was explained to me at all. The worker told me "I should go home and talk to my husband and ask him". This seems to be the go to tire place in the area. My son had a flat as he was heading back home to Maine. He changed the tire and we headed to Town Fair for a repair. We hoped all he needed was a patch and he could be on his way. It was nearly impossible to get into the lot. There are tires piled in the parking spaces. A truck blocking the doorway. I had to park behind the building, which also had a truck blocking the driveway. We go in and are immediately told "no flats today." The employee wouldn't even look at the tire. He mentioned multiple times they were "17 deep" and couldn't do it. Told us to come back on Monday. I understand it was the Saturday after a holiday. It was about 10am. I understand other appointments. But turning away business (he told us to go to Midas) is bad form. We gave Meinke a try, knowing they arent a tire place, but having past good experience there. They couldn't make promises but said they could try to squeeze it in if we left it. By 1:30 we got a call about the tire. We ended up buying 4 tires anyway. But he'll be on his was. read more

I have now had to use townfair tire twice now. And I have to say the staff there is amazing. Scott is at the front desk and he was answering the phone (that didn't stop ringing the whole time I was there) and I could here him answering the same questions over and over and never once did he lose his patients or give any kind of attitude to whoever was on the other line. He was super patient and when I explained I had to be out of there in an hour to pick up my kids he made it happen. Jay was also at the front desk and he was the same way very nice and made sure I was taken care of. I'm sure there is other staff that made the experience a positive one as well but these 2 were the ones that stuck out. If you need help ask for Jay or Scott they will take care of you. read more

I had a flat tire and after roadside service put a "donut tire" on my car I reached out to Town Fair to have my tire repaired. Unfortunately I was told by the call service that it would be 5 days before I could have an appointment. Having surpassed the recommended miles one should drive on the temporary tire and a snow storm on its way I pleaded with Josh at my local Town Fair. He was honest about the volume of customers they had scheduled and worked with me to get my car there, tire repaired and mounted back on my car prior to the snow and 3 days ahead of the other appointment. They were obviously busy and I appreciate their effort. 5 stars to Josh and his peers. One star off for the call center. Thanks Josh. read more

I initially scored them a 4 out of 5. unfortunately the day after purchasing 4 new tires at a cost of $980 I woke up to a flat tire. I was told I had to get car to them. luckily I had AAA however I had to use one of my service times. They repaired the issue quickly saying it was a valve stem issue and the mechanic should've picked up on it. Driving on highway a few days later and car steering wheel shaking. I must not have read the small print that said FREE 2 INCH DENT IN DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WITH EVERY PURCHASE, because that's exactly what I received during my visit. But that's not the funny part. The funny part is that the employees never intended to tell me about the dent. I only noticed it after they handed me my keys, paid my invoice, and I was about to drive away. When I saw the dent I stormed back into the office. Before I could open my mouth, the cashier said something of the effect, "Oops, sorry, I forgot to tell you about something." He informed that while in the shop some employee accidentally swung a 50 lb steel floor jack into the side of my car door. WTF I thought. When the %$#@ was he going to tell me?? I know. His plan was not to tell me in hopes that I wouldn't notice. When we talked, he didn't even walk outside to verify the dent. He didn't need to because the sleezeball knew all along what happened. In the end, Town Fair Tire promised to pay for the repair. But those bastards would have let me drove away with the dent unknowingly if I had not spotted it upon returning to my vehicle. So two lessons were learned that day: 1) Never go to Town Fair Tire 2) Always do a walk-around and inspect your vehicle (in the parking lot) before you drive away when serviced. read more

Not sure when this Town Fair location went downhill. Management change? I've been going to the Branford location for 6 years. I've always had a pleasant experience. After today, I won't be going back. The Check in desk is was slow as molasses. The employee who checked me in was fine. The one who checked me out was another story. He told me he'd be right with me while he scrolled his cell phone. I stood there waiting to check out while he was on his cell phone. His coworker even told him to put it down. I paid and he handed me my service papers while looking at his cell phone. When i walked out I couldn't open my cars back door because there was a pile of tires in front of it. The Employee didn't give me a receipt and I ended driving back 10 minutes later. I spent over $400. He was rude to me and didn't seem to remember I was just there. He said my receipt was on the bottom of one or the papers. Would have been professional if he pointed that out!!! read more

Town Fair Tire off of route 1 in Branford, Connecticut... What a lovely place to get your car serviced- that is if you're looking for a "professional" team of crack heads with a toolbox! These so-called "mechanics" and "engineers" couldn't tell the difference between a hammer and a glass of milk if you spelt it out for them. Right off the bat, you walk inside... BOOM... You're shuffled into the waiting area (which is basically a breeding ground for mold) The smell is overwhelming, which you soon realize explains why there are more people standing outside the building than inside, or maybe it's just the simple fact that there is barely anywhere to sit at all- even on a good day :'-( Sadly, you shouldn't count on the employees to do anything about it either, because they're just as miserable as you are, the only difference though, they choose to be that way because they have mush for brain! I personally had the very unfortunate and nightmarish experience when I entrusted these clowns to do a simple tire change! But nooo, nooo that's too much to ask for, because we at Town Fair Tire like to make sure our customers are left with a hellish experience - specifically one where two completely different sized tires are put on the wrong way! And after such a swell time, the leader of this tribe of monkey's has the actual audacity to blame you, the customer for the mistake! That, unfortunately is just one of many MANY reckless and nonsensical mistakes this mime of an auto body shop has produced. I made an appointment for I and my brother to get our winter tires put on. They had no issue putting his on in a timely manner. Mine, however, they said wouldn't be ready for 6 more hours. When I called and asked what was up, they said I made a "drop off" appointment, and not a "slotted" appointment. I think that's ridiculous. When I get my oil changed, or I make dinner reservations, or appointments of any kind, I set a time, I am expected to be there at that time, and it gets done in a timely manner. People have schedules and this made me late for work, and I had to take my chances driving without snow tires in the coming blizzard. read more

Then they send my mother out in her car for a Month with one missing lug on all four tires. Then claim I brought it in that way and it's state protocol to use 4. I have been coming to Town Fair for years now with multiple different cars. A couple of weeks ago I had an issue with my tires and Jason was there to help! I came in needing two new tires.. one with almost a blow out.. Jason and the team were able to fit me in right away and get everything fixed in a timely manner. Which was amazing due to all of the new covid regulations and everyplace being so busy. They took the time to help and explain my bill to me. The customer service went above and beyond! I called back a couple of days later because my wheel hub cover was missing! It wound up that it broke and they were able to tell me where to get another one. Overall I highly recommend going to Town Fair Tire and dealing with Jason and the whole team! read more

I've thought long and hard about this review and I've given them every opportunity to try and get things right but it's just not happening. They are very excited to sell you tires and tout their "free rotation" and "free winter tire changeover" but when it comes right down to it, they really don't want to do either. At least not correctly. I have a 1 ton Dually pickup that I bought 6 Nitto tires for from TFT in Branford. When installing them they marked up the chrome wheels. Then they always seem to forget my chrome valve caps when they put the tires on. I've brought it there 3 times to have the tires rotated and each time there's been a problem. The most recent was a couple of weeks ago and I begged them to do it right this time but it didn't happen. First, they absolutely hate having to rotate the tires because each tire has to be dismounted and remounted to another rim. That's just the way it is with a Dually. Second, the rear tires need to be installed with the valve stems exactly opposite each other. They haven't gotten this right until the last time when I had to make a big deal about it. This caused a problem in the past and left me stranded in Ohio with an inside driver's side flat because the valve stems were hitting each other. Third, they always try and sell you an alignment, even though they know they can't do an alignment on my truck because it is too long and heavy to fit on their alignment machine. This last time they charged me for an alignment even though they couldn't do one and said that the tire changeover would have cost the same. But what about the "free" part of the changeover? And in the past they have only charged me $60 for the "Free" rotation. This time it was $120! Fourth, this time they took the front rims and turned them around and put them on n the outside rear of the truck. And took the rear outside rims and turned them around and put them on the front. When I went to pick up the truck I thought that they had replaced my rims with black ones they were so dirty. I still haven't been able to clean them so they look like chrome. Also they must've changed the inside rim valve stems with rubber ones because they now vibrate and hit the sides of the outside rims which will potentially cause the valve extension to develop a hole and cause the tire to go flat. I could go on and on but you can probably get the picture. I'm done with TFT. After years of buying tires from them I just can't in good conscience go back there ever again. Oh yeah and the front right tire seems to have a slow leak in it. It's about 20 PSI lower than the front left. Guess where I won't be going to to get that checked out! read more

The reviews below describing excessively long wait times for repairs, issues with lug nuts, lying to cover for their incompetence, has not been addressed by the head of customer service who said he would address the issues mentioned in the other bad reviews. So today I waited 3.5 hours for 3 tires to be put on my car which, I paid for when I arrived (I.e. PREPAID). In fact, another customer said "You were here before me, all the people before you were here and the 2 customers who came in after you, cars are finished. In fact we spoke about this with the guy who sold me the tires. My Sales Rep. Danny, had the gall to tell me it took my car so long because they were busy and my lug nuts were hard to get off. Well first of all, I saw empty bays for at least 20 mins so they were not that busy. Now the reviews discuss lug nut abuse. The excuse my lug nuts were hard to get off was a total lie as I, myself, have gotten the lug nuts off with a tire iron. So I guess they think I am a stupid woman who is not mechanically inclined and is clueless as to what a lug nut is. I hope they remembered to back out the lug nuts a bit so they don't cease up and I will never get them off. So my feeling about Town Fair of Branford is... Commission Over Customer Service. Women are treated like second class citizens. And, lying is what Town Fair Tire does best. read more

He ordered us tires and we came in this morning, they were quick and courteous. I feel as though Jay went above and beyond for us and I highly recommend asking for him when you go in. I was a long term customer with specifically the Branford location because of convenience but once you get in there and realize how annoying these people are and always so grouchy then you will start to reconsider for better options. On top of that they require appointments generally and have been lacking for about 3 years now. Last straw was yesterday. Terrible people from the manager all the way down. read more
