I know that Firestone does not have a good reputation and I generally don't go there for anything, but in this case I hadn't much choice. I was traveling though CT on I95. The low air pressure indicator light illuminated on the dash. I pulled over to check the tires. Sure enough, one was flat. FLAT. On the side of the highway I was able to change to compact spare. Not really knowing where I was, Google maps showed I was only a few miles from this Firestone location. So, without delay I made my way to the shop. The front counter person listened and empathisized with my situation. Fingers crossed. 45 min later the tire was patched and I was back on the road. Thank you so much!! read more

I had to go to work on a Saturday. I got in my car and my tire was almond flat. I called all the area shops. All said the same thing - nothing available until Monday. Well this couldn't wait until Monday. I called Firestone and the gentleman said we are pretty busy but bring it down. I said I'll be right there. I got there and yes they were busy. He said what time do you have to be in work? I said 2. He took my car in within 5 minutes of arrival. They had my car ready before 2!! The quality of work was top notch. I've been buying my tires at Firestone for 15 years and have never had a bad experience. When I had car trouble 2000 miles away, I went to the nearest Firestone and they took very good care of me. All of my information was in their computer system and they honor their warranty. They seem to always have a great selection and range of prices. read more

I wouldn't recommend anyone taking a vehicle to this place for repair. I drove a new vehicle with less than 3500 miles to their location with a screw in the tread of a tire and the air pressure was still above 20 after sitting all night in the cold. After waiting for about 25 minutes, I was told that they removed the screw, but the tire couldn't be patched or repaired, but they could order a new tire for $300 plus. Then offered to put on the spare and asked if I wanted to leave my rim and tire. Needless to say, I'm older enough to know better and have over 35 years of law enforcement so I can tell when I'm not being treated honestly, so I went to another location where they removed the screw (see the picture), although I was told it was already removed, and patched the tire and told me it was in the tread no big deal. Ironically while I was waiting another customer was told the same thing about his tire that had a nail in it. read more

Louis was great! Nice guy that helped me out! Everette was rude. When asked to see the breakdown of costs, he seemed annoyed and swung the screen over as if I knew how to read the system they use to track this. After looking at the screen trying to figure it out, I asked for some help in understanding the charges on the screen and he was less then helpful. Pointed to the bottom of the screen and said here is the breakdown - mind you, he was wrong, the line items were listed at the top. When asking if I can have record in case i need to take it to another shop in the future he was rude and said I had to pay first. Well, obviously I have to pay, Everette. That wasn't my question. All in all, the guy was rude and out of it. Only reason they get 3 stars is because Louis was great. This guy needs to go to some type of therapy or something. Weird dude. read more

My tire blew out on the highway yesterday coming home from New York City on my drive back to Rhode Island. I pulled over to the other side of the shoulder and called a couple tire shops. There were all closed at 6 o'clock. Thankfully I seen fire stone open till seven. I spoke to the man at the counter over the phone and I told him my exact situation. I have no spare tire. I would like to buy one or buy a new tire. Whatever it takes to drive my family and I family pet home, he told me come down and help you with a spare tire or a new tire. I said great so I drove with a broken tire with a broken tire once I got there they made me move my car twice. I got there at 6:20. They made me wait in line until 655 to tell me that there's nothing they can do for me and they can't help me I don't think that's fair to leave. People stranded like that on the side of the road, I even offered a mechanic and one of the base $500 plus the charge of the tire altogether seven $800 in cash just to help me get my family home because it was an emergency. My mother is on life-support please fire stone reach out to me so I could further reach with my complaint, something has to change here risk my family by driving on the tire that was broken for 7 miles when they promised me help and I didn't get any. I got a bad attitude. He should of been up front with me and I would have never Evan tried to come to this location. I under stand people have to go home but why say come down and will fix your tire then not too and leave me in line for what seemed for ever he could of told me then when he seen me come In off the main road !!!! Also, I paid for free alignment when I bought my new tires and now they fight me on it and never had a record. Lastly, my car smells like Sh$@t after it leaves their shop. I've been going to them for years since I bought tires for my jeep and had a good experience. Since then they screwed me over around every corner. Replacing a tire is about 300 -400 after labor and tax. If a tire can be patched that's saves you a ton of money. A) they told me I had a nail in my sidewall that couldn't be patched. (Fair I saw it in my tried but there could have been a second one) B) I bring my wife's car in for a flat. The invoice says "flat repair patch-plug". Good thank your Firestone, 6 months later it's flat again I bring it back to Firestone they tell me they can't find the leak because it's filled with fix-a-flat now I need a whole new tire. I brought it to a shop paid and waited an hour so it could be fixed right. If I wanted to full it with slime I could do that in my driveway. Now the labor costs for a new tire are going to have to include scraping that crap out of tire. You can't trust any shop. I brought it to meineke they said they patched it and sent me home and it was flat in a hour. I'm sure they have good tech that work there but I haven't found any. Any other shop I go to can't be worse than here they can only be as good or better. The guy behind the counter Elijah helped as much as he could he was professional and helpful. What a great experience at this location. I had a slow leak in my tire and recently visited another company (that I'll never return to) to have it repaired only to have the same problem. My son works at a different Firestone location which was too far to travel with a damaged tire so he suggested I try Branford. First I had an appt at 9am and they greeted me promptly and got my car in within minutes. The technician was very personable and delivered the bad news of the damaged (expensive) rim that needed repair. They were so helpful in coordinating the repair with a local vendor. While the repair was being done off site, they contacted me with updates on when it would be done. Their professionalism and customer service was outstanding. I'll refer them whenever possible! As always, very impressed with the service here. I was very hesitant about getting new tires, due to the price and quality of the tires. Luckily firestone was able to help me with the right type of tire for my Subaru. I got a quote a few months back, and when I returned, the price went down! These were all season firestone brand tires. They also come with pro rated repair. So if something happens to the tire, they will work with you. Flat, nails, et I was able to drop my car off on a a Friday at 2:30pm and it was ready with four new tires, and alignment by 5pm. Talk about awesome service. I had a coupon from a friend who referred me, but unfortunately it didn't work, but they still worked with me and gave me $30 off. I was so happy. Thank you firestone for amazing service. I am very happy and I will be returning for my future tire rotations and tire needs! 1/28/19 - called to get an appointment for a full service oil change. Waited 4 hours for them to do my breaks. The man at the front desk embarrassed me in front of a full waiting room of men by completely roasting my car. AND although I only went to get my breaks done, my car feels like it's going to fall apart. My car felt perfectly fine until I went to this shop. Paid 400$ for what? I wish I knew. Strongly agree with the several negative comments and ratings. Do NOT recommend this service. Unprofessional, overpriced, inaccurate service. First bad experience when my husband took his car there with brake pad issue. They changed the pad but the wrong one, later my husband took back the car they could not fix the issue. My husband had to go to other service to fix the problem. Later I took my car there to get new tires. They said an exact price on phone, when I got there they wanted to overcharge me over 110 bucks. They mislead customers, let them wait, doing low-grade job and they are expensive. Shame on the Firestone that they give their name for services like this one. read more

I purchased my tires at this branch if Firestone about two years ago. My tire light came on. I felt so fortunate to have a really excellent tech. It was late and they would be closing soon. He took my care in their garage and put it up. There was a screw in the tire. He removed the screw and patched the tire! I have been to other tire places in the past who were not as thorough. I made an online appointment for 11am and I went to the desk to check-in. I showed the confirmation email for the appointment and then I was told by the person working that the confirmation email doesn't mean anything and that the reservation is "through a third party" so it doesn't mean anything which is complete bs. They told me I had to wait 2 hours and if I want to "really" confirm the appointment, I should try calling next time. Terrible service and bs excuse after bs excuse. Never go somewhere where they won't uphold an allotment you clearly made and have a confirmation for. read more

Thankfully, I found a competent, honest mechanic who doesn't snow me. I had to do that because I didn't feel that I could trust Firestone anymore. I haven't been there since last winter as they have a pesky habit of charging you for a repair that they actually did fewer than six months earlier. Furthermore, it seemed highly unlikely that my car (which is seldom driven and has always been in solid shape) even needed those repairs a second time. It was far too suspicious. I called customer service about this problem, and they contacted one of the managers who refunded the money to my debit card. I was also incensed when the shop manager wouldn't accept a legitimate coupon for a $30 deduction from the visit. I asked why and he said, "Because I've given you enough discounts." What in the world...?! Yes, he applied some discounts ~ but not honoring the coupon is deceitful. I didn't even ask for the credits he applied, and I'm on a fixed budget due to disability as well. Even Customer Service said, "He shouldn't have done that." So that amount was also refunded to me in addition to the entire job. This particular manager had an arrogance that I detested, and his entire attitude seemed a bit sexist. I actually have some knowledge about cars and resented the insulting treatment. Bucko, don't assume the worst about me just because I'm female. About eight years ago, I had an unfortunate sparring match with another manager about a similar situation. Long story short: I called customer service, and they were very concerned about what happened to me. They asked me what I'd like as compensation, hence I said that an entire refund for the last job would be appropriate. And that's what I received. Why I returned to this shop at that point, however, is a mystery. My dad had also reminded me that they'd charged me for two fuel filters in the same year! Was the second one even installed? Who knows. Firestone is extremely overpriced as well ~ if you were thinking about coming here for any reason, don't bother. read more

We were visiting my parents from Chicago when my car started leaking oil. Firestone was the only place open on Memorial Day, so we brought our car there hoping to be able to get on the road to go home the same day. They were able to diagnose it as a rusted oil pan and get a new one ordered and installed in just a few hours. Bruce was very nice and did a great job of explaining the issue and showing us the old oil pan. It was definitely pricey, but given it was a holiday and we needed the repair completed that day I was happy to pay it. read more

Stay Away!!! I really needed 2 tires...today-so my bf and I started our morning looking for a place that could get that done. Bruce at Firestone was all about it-"bring it down and I'll definitely have it done by 5 pm!" So we did-asked for an oil change as well and happily went on our way. Except Bruce was full of crap and when we returned at 4:45 my car hadn't moved an inch and the tires weren't changed! Then they tried to tell us they stay late-have it done in half an hour...REALLY? 2 tires and an oil change in half an hour? I don't think so!! Horrible Customer Service. Took them 5 1/2 hours to complete a new tire installation and alignment which they quoted me 2 hours for. Had they told me it would have taken this long I would have dropped my truck off rather than waiting. But they never even had the decency to tell me there would be delays...After the alignment was completed, my front wheel toe was worse than what it originally was, and my rear wheel toe went from 2 degrees off from each other to 10 degrees off, but because it falls within the acceptable limits they wouldn't even consider trying to fix it....And to boot, 1 tire had almost 10 psi less than the other 3.... I wouldn't even bring my grandkids Power Wheels or bicycles here. read more

Took my car there yesterday for a SCHEDULED oil change. My appointment was at 10am. I sat in the waiting room until 11:15am before stepping outside to make a phone call. I noticed my vehicle was exactly where I had parked it and hadn't appeared to have been moved. I went back inside and asked if my car had even been looked at yet. I was told "if it's parked over on that side we haven't gotten to it yet" He was very non-chalant about it! I told them to just give me my keys. If you value your time at all take your vehicle where making appointments ahead of time actually mean something. If you feel like sitting in their waiting room watching talk shows for an hour and 15 minutes for no good reason whatsoever this is definitely the place for you. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would but Yelp makes me give at least one star....worst experience ever...first I call in the am to get a quote on 4 tires..get told told a price and they knew I was getting my car towed there since I didn't have a spare....got there and was told it was 300 dollars more than what I was quoted for...then on top they had to have the tires delivered from another facility and they would call me when my car was ready today. That was at 115 pm....here come 6pm and still have not received a phone call so I call them and was told my car was still not ready but they will call me when it's done but don't worry they close at 7 and it I'll.be done by before that...now it's 640 and I'll still did not get a call so I get a ride there and got there at 7:01 the guy was getting into his car and lights were off....I said excuse me im here to get my car and his response was well you never came and got it..I was like I called you at 6 and you said you would call me when it's done...he said well I already made my deposit so you have to come back tomorrow....i called corporate and told them what happened. Hmmmm.... where do I start? First, I've had this clicking noise on my car since I moved to Connecticut. I've taken it to Fire Stone four different times. All times they fixed something they claimed was the noise. It was still there. The last time I was there and I came out with the same noise they said it was no big deal. And they could figure it out on my next visit. I would like to point out that they charge you more for the labor than the actual parts. The labor fee for Fire Stone is a whopping $100 per hour. Every other mechanic will be cheaper, any other! Thankfully, after checking autoMD.com, I was able to find another mechanic. I went to this place called 'Auto Clinic'. They fixed the problem within one visit and changed my brakes and spark plugs for the price that Fire Stone wanted to charge me solely for the spark plugs. Whatever you do, dont go to Fire Stone. Look some local mechanics in the area. Won't go again, beyond over charging me they took over 2 hours for them to patch a tire and I had to request them to put the tire on my car they wanted me to leave with it in my trunk and a donut on my car. Then they drove my car to the front and left the car on for me. Within in a minute of me leaving I noticed my low tire pressure light was on. When my car turns on you have to intentionally change the display screens to get the warning to go away and they had changed screens and let me leave knowing my tire pressure was low. read more

While I normally would not take the time to write a formal complaint, I must respectfully express how poor and unacceptable my experience was at the location in Branford, CT. Last week, I brought my 2012 Hyundai Elantra in for an engine diagnosis and engine service work. I was instructed prior to the write-up of an estimate that the engine diagnosis (which a $100 fee was charged for) would "determine" the root cause for my engine light being on. I felt reassured upon receiving a call from the service technician that the issue was an alternative O2 sensor and ignition coil. I mention "alternative" because I had replaced a sensor previously. Desperate to resolve my engine issue in time before emissions were due for my vehicle, I accepted the exorbitantly high quote that I was quoted. I was quoted nearly $900 for the work to be completed. First of all, I am a claims adjuster who is aware of the pricing markup and excessive labor rates at Firestone. However, I had a Firestone Credit Card and needed to get the work done fast. They marked up my O2 sensor by 200-300% and then added fuel system cleaning charges and labor (nearly $400) that was not even necessary. I originally didn't care because I wanted my vehicle fixed quickly. When I went to pick my vehicle up, the engine light was temporarily off. It turned back on shortly after. I brought the vehicle back and Firestone's excuse after re-diagnosis was that if the light went back on again, it would be a "computer" issue that my dealership would have to resolve. Coyly, the technician I checked out with the night prior didn't even look me in the eye or acknowledge me. I spoke with another technician that day. As soon as I got back into my vehicle, my engine light was already on again. I felt as though nothing was accomplished. I also discovered upon my second visit that the center is an emissions testing center. Why would this center not have proactively offered me to take the test unless they knew they couldn't resolve my issue? Why was I reassured of the work completed and charged $900 only to later hear a different story and excuse? I can't help but think that this is a combination of the fault of poor management, frontline auto employees who lack knowledge and integrity on auto service work, and lame procedures designed by Firestone's corporate team to take advantage of hard-working middleclass citizens. I feel that Firestone locations should be audited or investigated for such crude and unethical acts. I also think a lawsuit can be formed against Firestone after careful investigation of the integrity of work that comes from their employees once enough of these occurrences are well-documented. I would be quick to presume that many individuals who present a specific issue type to Firestone but have auto knowledge will be quick to identify any fraudulent practices or un-necessary labor offered. I will be reviewing actions to take, including the proceedings to file a complaint to the BBB and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Firestone should not have charged me any labor to avoid resolving or fixing the real issue I have. Because their employees were so apt to pull a fast one on me and not be direct with me, I will be pulling the trigger and ending my partnership with Firestone. I will go through the proper proceedings to ensure that proper authority and/or authorities are notified of this corporate theft against "customers". Respectfully, Matthew T. read more
