Hands down the worst shop I've ever dealt with. I went in to get ONE tire sensor replaced and they kept my car for 8 hrs. When I finally got it back, not only did the new sensor not work, but all four sensors were not responding, my rim was damaged, and the tire they worked on had a slice in the sidewall. When I called them out, they immediately tried to flip it on me, saying I "must've hit a curb." On top of that, there was grease around the cut and the tech even admitted they patched the sidewall--which is ILLEGAL and flat-out dangerous. No legit shop would ever do that unless they were trying to cover up their own mistake. Their response? "We'll call our rim guy." Well the rim guy said it wasn't repairable, and instead of owning up, they told me they weren't replacing a thing. So now I'm stuck dropping $700 on a new rim and tire that they refuse to take responsibility for. The owner Tony was rude, arrogant, and tried to bully me into thinking they "did me a favor" by patching the sidewall. A favor?? If I didn't know better about cars I could have been put in a dangerous situation. This place is a joke. Dishonest, careless, and dangerous. Don't trust them with your car. Ever. read more

Overall I have been to tire express 3 times in about 2 months. Brake job was fine. Put a plug in a tire. No problems. I went for a AC recharge and this become an issue. They hooked the car up the machine and said everything looks good. We can't recharge. Well that's great and bad since my car blows luke warm air but great they are not going to do work that's not needed. The mechanic says it's probably the expansion valve. Quoted 150.06. Turns out my car takes a unique refrigerant and it's going to be a lot more. I'm the zone of 600$. Now I was never given a call to see if that extra expensive was approved. They took my car to another dealership to have the work done. Again without my knowledge or permission. If the original quote was accurate to my vehicle as it should have been I would have declined the job. It also leads me to believe that the recharge they didn't do would have also been a lot more money than quoted. My bill jumped 4 times more than the original quote. We argued this point with the owner and we needed up paying $360, still over double the original quote and more than I would have been willing to spend on this particular car. To top it off I drove by the shop later that night on my way home from work and my car was left in their unsecured parking lot unlocked. The following morning when I picked up up once they were open I entered my car to see the leather seats had a layer of oil from when the mechanic drove it. To sum up they attempted to charge me 3-4 times the original quote. I never authorized anything over the original quote. Any extenuating circumstances such as a refrigerant should've been communicated to me immediately. This is what a neighborhood business should be like. i have had two experiences with this both proved them to be friendly , courteous, patient , informative and reasonable as far as price, they don't look to rob you Last year i asked them to check air in tire , they did so happily and free of charge Today i brought car in as rear tire was loosing air, they took care of it immediately , found a nail, did a patch and the young man ( i wish I knew his name ) was great showing me valve on a run fjat vs regular tore Receptionist also friendly , kind and knowledgeable .I heard her on phone with customers and she was very friendly and patient read more

Terrible business people. However, did you know that if a mechanic and or business does you wrong you can contact DMV damages and repairs to turn them in? My only hope is to get back my initial out of pocket cash back from these crooks! As of now I have had to put out $1500 more to get my car running. Tire express and Alexis mechanic took me for over $1000. Dropped my car off at my residence on a flat bed claiming it was fixed. If it was drivable why would you bring to my home at 1am on a flatbed? Hello !!! Can you say great service ??? I was scheduled to drive to Brooklyn NY when i noticed my tires looked like baloney skin !!! I pulled into Tire Express at 4:55 pm !! The owner "Tony" made some calls , found my tires at a great price and had me come in first thing the next morning before they open in order to get my tires on and help me on my way !! I had coffee and cookies in their office while waiting (20 min) and chatted with his mom while i waited !! This is a great business !! So welcoming and warm ! Truly one of the worst places I have ever been to, they essentially stole my car for a year, stole my money and still didn't fix the issues, in fact, they returned it in even worse condition than I brought it in. They are extremely sexist, they have made many derogatory comments towards me and other woman who went in there. They cross threaded one of my lug nuts and destroyed one of my wheel studs after replacing a TPMS. I had the work done at least a year ago and they were the only ones to work on the car and remove that wheel. I went to do a 10 minute ABS sensor replacement today however now my car is sitting on jack stands in my driveway because I have to buy a new stud and lug nut. read more

They were also terrible in the rain, short time later had a flat, tire was no good. On an all wheel drive car tires must match. They could not even match the tire I just recently bought and would only sell me another mismatch tire. Terrible customer service would not tell me price and was very rude on phone definitely would not go there.

Stopped in on my way to the Ford dealership and so happy we did!! I had a few stripped lugs that I wanted to get taken care of. Ford told me last month to come down, it would be cheap and take a few hours (red flag). I called Ford today to arrange a time to drop off my car- he said it would be 2-3 hours and $200-400 estimate to take off 3 stripped lugs. They would have to "remove the studs from the back". What?!? My heart dropped, its money I definitely don't have, and the lugs just happen to be on a tire with a slow leak, so it's just a setup for disaster! Sorry, I may be a woman, but my father restored cars for a living, and if I had the tools I would have done it myself. No thanks Ford! I was on my way to go argue with Ford, and my husband decided to stop in to Tire Express to get a quote to bring to the dealership. Well, we didn't end up getting a quote. Instead, Tire Express cracked the stripped lugs off (all 5 of them) in about 30 seconds (not a few hours) and replaced them with with new ones to hold me over until my matching ones come in tomorrow at the parts store. They also checked my tire for a slow leak but we couldn't find it yet. All in all he was there for about half an hour and it cost us nothing! They did all this for free, which was literally a life saver! They may not have made any money off me today, but they definitely just gained a customer for life. They didn't try to get one over on us (like Ford...) and were just genuinely happy to help out, knowing taking stripped lugs off isn't even a real "job". My biggest peeve is mechanics trying to take advantage like I don't know anything about cars. I now plan on going to them for help with my pet project-restoring my old Volvo 960! Great service, friendly people! They'll definitely be getting all my big jobs from now on. WATCH OUT FOR THE BAIT AND SWITCH !! I called, asked for a price on Yokohama.. i was told Yokohama makes a tire called THUNDERER... 60k warranty, Its there best tire and he will give me the tire for the price off the better tire. I said ok.. Turns out the tire are not Yokohama brand, they are Thunderer brand, which are made in Thailand and you can get them much cheaper on the internet,Thunderer have nothing to do with Yokohama. I called back, got the run around but this is my fault too, i didnt do my homework and took his word and i was lied to. If you use them, TELL THEM EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT, GET IT IN WRITING, and then see how the price is . read more

UPDATE: Once again Tire Express comes though! My girl's 2009 Nissan was seized up so we towed it to Tire Express. The mechanic figured out what the problem was and before doing anything he called his buddy who works at a Nissan dealership and had him check for recalls. Sure enough there was a recall and Nissan repaired the vehicle free. An 11 year old vehicle! Tire Express could have easily just repaired it and we would have had to pay 1000 plus but on a hunch they checked with Nissan first and we didn't have to pay a dime. Needless to say because of their honestly and going above and beyond they lost out on the profit of doing themselves. That kind of honesty is hard to find these days. I've had my own vehicle worked on there and got tires there and it's always been awesome. If you checked yelp to find a reputable tire and repair place in Branford, you found it.
