Driving down I95 in CT for the holidays and a tire started losing air. Pulled off the road and pumped it up, but 20 miles later the TPMS went, off warning of low pressure. Integrity. Honestly. Simple words but IMHO sometimes hard to find in the auto repair space. But happily whip-it folks seem to have it. I've been here twice and both times they have been very straightforward in providing a clear analysis of the problem and fair quotes. The did a solid job and actually identify things that other mechanics had missed and did not overcharge. I also like that they actually show you what they have done. No matter how busy he is, no matter how full his garage is, he always makes the time for me. Dave is not a pretentious guy; he's very down to earth, has a great sense of humor, is patient, and explains what's happening with the car in terms that I can understand. I had an appt at 12:30 and went into the shop and they didn't seem to know I was coming. I asked them VERY CLEARLY to change the tire on the driver's rear side. For the past 2 weeks I've been putting air in it constantly just to get around. The guy came back in and said it was leaking from inside and the tire was shot. They then proceeded to change the tire with the tire I brought - BUT THEY CHANGED THE WRONG TIRE. They changed the passenger rear. They also left me waiting for 30 extra minutes because they "forgot." The tire pressure light remained on and I called them and they said "it should go off by itself." I loaned the car to my bf (he drives for work) and the driver rear tire immediately went flat because they changed the wrong tire. Personally, they were trying to do too many things to too many clients at once and i'm sure got confused. Well, I'm not paying for confusion and this could have caused a serious accident for my bf. I will be disputing any and all charges with my bank. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Avoid this Auto Shop if you do not want used parts in your car for the price of new. Michael Spradlin is big LIAR. Once he get money from you, and if you have any issue with repair, he will always says next day or, later and his new customers are his priority. He does not value your time and treat you better as a customer. All this warranties are crap. read more

I just have to say, I'd taken my 2014 Honda Accord to three other service stations and my car was driving horribly like a 30 year old Honda. I thought it was ready for the scrap yard. I brought it to Whip It Tire. They were not only able to align my car, which three big-name tire centers could not do but also pointed out the fuel filter and air filters were completely clogged. After changing those, replacing the brake pads and rotors that were fused together because there was no warning that the brake pads were going like normal break pads which, by the way I only had them for less than 20,000 miles. Then the passenger side axle had given out that had also been replaced less than 40,000 miles prior. They went through the entire car and I went back to the Major tire store and got my free tire because they were still under a lifetime warranty on that!! Whip it was able to make my 2014 Honda now drive like a 2023 Honda Accord right off of the showroom floor I highly recommend these guys I had already been taking my daughters car there. I will now take my other daughters car there instead of to the Lexus dealership that they've been going to. The guys at Whip-it really know their business inside and out. They also show you everything that was wrong with the car. They bring the parts out to you and show you what it is supposed to look like brand new and what the part actually looks like inside your vehicle unlike any other automotive dealership or service repair center that I've been to. My car has the power of a six cylinder now and it's only a four-cylinder. It's amazing the difference in the way the vehicle drives, handles and all around performs, like I said before I thought the car was ready for the scrap heap. I was recommended to them for their loyalty. Came in with a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that needed a new fuel rail and to check out the brakes that weren't working properly. They told me I needed a new fuel rail, new rear brakes, and had a messed up head gasket. He looked at it for free, told me the cost of what it would be to fix, and instead of ripping me off, told me he'll fix it but recommended I use the money to get a new car in better condition. I'm getting a new Jeep but definitely using that place as a permanent, reliable, honest go-to for all my vehicle needs. They also had a dog. read more

I normally do most of the work on my car myself but not comfortable with doing a timing belt so I had Eddie do it for me. Town fair tire people are bunch of scam artists, they were making me buy a new tire for something that could of been fixed for $10. Dave is the Linchpin of this garage. He gives great advice on auto repairs, tire purchases, and what cars to buy(new or used). Does a checklist of used cars you bring in from a dealer. Pretty good judgement on my behalf...5 for 5 recommendations, rang true, yea and nay. This place can fix autos or advise what to do if a fix is not feasible. Pricing beats dealers. I agree with that review. Dave is really funny, friendly and super helpful. I've had several sets of Cooper tires + oil changes from him over the years and also town fair. Since I've found Cooper tires to be the best so far and also the last tire made in USA, it makes it an easy choice. Town Fair is fine but they are much higher volume. T.F. can also very confusing with the final invoice which can raise blood pressure. (they're just tires!!). Dave's pricing is very fair and has helped me out in several jams. Fixed flats on the spot, rebalancing on the spot. Getting a brake job by Whip-it was still cheaper than going to Bfd. Hill w/ all the coupons. read more

The owner is a bit of a scam artist. I got my entire windshield wiper motor replaced under a year ago and it cost 300 dollars. He told me he would warranty it for a year so when it broke in 6 months I sent my daughter back to have it repaired. He told my daughter he would not look at it without a receipt. Since he does everything on paper, he did not records and never told me that I had to have the receipt to maintain the warranty. I used to get all my car work done there and I travel all over for work so there was usually a monthly oil change, but since then I would never go back. If you are going to require a receipt for a warranty you should tell the client up front. My only thought is that he didn't actually replace anything and just pocketed my money.
