I don't usually write reviews, but my recent experience with Gino at Town Fair Tire in Milford has compelled me to share my thoughts. For context, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, I had an appointment at Town Fair Tire (TFT) to replace all four tires on my Crosstrek. About a month earlier, during a routine oil change at Subaru in Wallingford, the service department informed me that I would soon need new tires. When I left that appointment, I received an estimate for four replacements and was told Subaru would soon be running a sale, which would lower the price further. I didn't bring that estimate with me to TFT because I assumed a discount tire retailer would be less expensive than a dealership. Unfortunately, that assumption turned out to be wrong - I paid more at TFT. Then on Monday, May 4, 2026, just two days after the installation, my tire pressure warning light came on. I called TFT and was told they would match Subaru's price difference (about $165) and that I should come in to speak with Gino. When I returned on Thursday, May 7, 2026, to discuss both the price match and the tire pressure issue, I was greeted by a polite young man at the counter who went to get Gino. From the moment Gino arrived, it was clear he was defensive and dismissive. As someone with more than 30 years in customer service, I can confidently say this is not the type of employee who should be interacting with customers. He was curt and unprofessional during the discussion about the price match and equally curt and unprofessional when addressing the defective tire. There was no apology for the inconvenience, no acknowledgment that a brand-new tire should not be failing after a few days, just indifference. It's disappointing to lose a loyal customer over $165. That small amount might mean little to a company the size of TFT, but to the average customer, it matters. More importantly, it's the difference between building a long-term trust and ensuring that I'll take my business elsewhere in the future. read more

If you enjoy having your time wasted, being disrespected, and having your vehicle mistreated then you've come to the right place. I purchased new tires a year ago and was told they came with a warranty for flat repairs. Not only did they take large chunks out of 3/4 of my rims but when I came back today to have a leak fixed (which I was told last week was just a loose valve after a 90 minute appointment) they said they couldn't patch it so my only option was to buy a brand new tire at full price. The manager and employees were rude and not sympathetic to my situation at all. I will never bring my vehicle back to this business and furthermore will do everything I can to encourage people to do the same. BEWARE: I had Trouble with Town Fair Tire across from Milford Mall: I've been a loyal customer for over five years and now so disappointed. Went in with a overall good running car and left with problems. Last week I stopped in for a low tire issue and once they were done checking and putting air in, I was told that sensors in all four wheels had to be replaced and that they could fix it. It would cost approximately $35 per wheel, altogether around $160.00. I thought that was reasonable. Monday morning I dropped my car off to get that work done. Now, I was given a price of $260.00 (they added balancing). Good thing, I did not pay first. Photo 1, shows no indicator light for check engine. Well three hours later, I get a call that they are unable to do the job and they cannot get rid of the light --When I left the car there was no "check engine light on" I was told they did not change the sensors and now on the dash it reads (photo 2) "check engine". And when I asked what did they do? He said that they "tried"! I could not get an answer as to what they actually did even though nothing was fixed. What? And who have the time to leave their car with experts only to find that the best they can do is "try" and to add insult now a warning light is on. Please beware... and if you have any advice aside from going to the dealership, I'd appreciate it. Over the past several months I've lost confidence in their service. Time to take business elsewhere. Got new tires for my car the other day and Joe was super helpful, friendly and professional! They got me in and out in about an hour and a half. Note I was there as soon as they opened and it was a week day. As I was leaving I noticed they were getting busy with the mad rush of people trying to get tires before the snow flew the next day. I'm sure there are times when the wait is a bit longer so be patient with the staff if it is. The waiting area is clean and there plenty of places to sit while you wait or you can take a stroll over to Dunkin' which is right next door. The prices vary depending on what you need but they will work with you to find the right fit. Very happy with my new tires and the service I received. read more

Before you consider coming to Town Fair Tire, please schedule a good amount of time out of your day. Even if you make an appointment. My husband and I had an appointment for 9:30AM. We left and came back around 11, thinking the car was close to being done only to find it still in the parking lot untouched. We went in and asked for an estimate for the amount of time remaining for the car. The front service representative said it usually takes around an hour to an hour and a half. This is an understandable time frame however keep in mind, the car wasn't touched yet. He proceeds to say he's waiting for a bay to clear up. The only problem with this is that the workers were working extremely slow (you can see this displayed on the cameras from the waiting area). At 11:42AM, the car is finally jacked up to have the tires placed on them. At 1:07PM the car is finally aligned because go figure a specialized tire shop has ONE ALIGNMENT RACK. There's no way they constantly have business here at this slow piss poor rate. WE WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN and I highly recommend you don't either. I have bought every set of tires for every car that I've owned at Town Fair Tire in Milford for the past 21 years. Up until today I would have given them rave reviews. Today they lost my business forever. I've had a slow leak in my rear passenger tire for the past several days. Everyday I have to get air. I purchased the tires from Town Fair sometime last year. This morning at approximately 8:00am I walked into Town Fair on Post Road in Milford and explained my situation. The employee behind the counter told me that I can leave the car with them and they'll get to it if they can. I asked if I could wait and he told me no because they might not get to it today. I asked well what happens if that happens he said you can drop it off on Monday and if we have time we'll get to it if not you'll have to bring it back. I said well this doesn't sound right to me. Can I make an appointment? He said no you cannot. I asked why not? He said this is free service and we have to take care of paying customers first. I told him I'm willing to pay whatever it is just to get the tires fixed. He told me that wasn't option. I left in complete shock and disappointment. After so many years of great service this is now Their service model?? Rest assured Town Fair I will be taking my business elsewhere going forward. read more

they didnt balance 6 of the wheels last friday when we were closing. daniel is a bad service manager telling me not to worry about balancing the wheels and hurry up. it was his job to balance them. also telling the other guy that he isnt allowed to drive a car inside. like what?. no wonder its slow, they dont even have a proper garage with good tools. talk about a horrible experience working there out of all the garages ive worked it was the worst. hostile work environment . half the air guns dont work. almost all the sockets are missing. they prioritize in speed and mistakes. almost every wheel doesnt have a proper bead seal on the top of the wheel. they dont even realize what theyre doing . they dont allow employees to bring tools because stealing is okay there. what a crummy place to try to be functional. you get hated on for doing the job right. i never broke a sensor never broke anything. at 16.75 a hour is it reasonable to be breaking your back and rushing the whole day like its nascar? no. what a bad environment to work in. i did well when the haters left. like that black guy who had a huge ego. go chill out! smoke more weed in your black honda accord and stop trying to bully me all the time. you dont even know me read more

Visited Milford Town Fair Tire this morning to have a tire fixed. The tire ended up having 2 nails in the tire, and could not be fixed. Had to buy 2 new tires, which I ended up doing. The service that I received was outstanding. Tremaine was a very helpful person and took care of the issue with a very genuine concern for my satisfaction. He even tried to call me , and even walked over to dunkin donuts to explain the issue. Gregg, the tire repair guy was also tremendous, and was exceptionally nice and courteous. I have never had a BAD experience going to this tire place. I have been a customer there probably longer than the person reading this review. This place tries to make you feel like they're doing you a favor by selling you the tires - not the other way around. From the second you walk in, you're are assaulted by hundred different signs having to do with lines without appt, lines with appt, lines for just picking up your car, etc. You then have to deal with a half a dozen of very aggressive guys crowded together into a plexiglass built, war like bunker, most of them ignoring you, while giving unintelligible instructions on the phone. When one finally does you a favor by asking if he can help you, you realize that their sole mission is to squeeze as much money from you as they can - I think a large part of their income comes from sales commission. I was there to try to patch up my tire. I haven't really expected them to (and off course they didn't). They try to sell me a new tire, at inflated price, which I've managed to reduce by showing manufacturer's price. After much discussion regarding whether or not my price included the shipping (it did), they finally matched it. If you have an option, go somewhere else, and stay away from Bob if you have no choice. By the way, this is probably the 3rd ( and the last time) I was made ti feel this way at Town Fair - today, I finally got angry enough. read more

I stopped here today (MILFORD location on the Post Road) bc I had a slow leak in my tire. Upon my arrival I immediately noticed & was impressed with how well they were managing the new world we're living in: doors propped to avoid touching handles, marks on the floor to ensure people kept safe distance, waiting room closed, etc. Additionally, after patching my tire, instead of charging me, they smiled and said, "don't worry about the payment, please just stay safe." I truly hope these random acts of kindness from businesses and humans, don't stop once we come out of this crisis. Nevertheless, I couldn't be happier with my experience at Town Fair today. Got a flat on 95 in Milford during the night and unfortunately no tire shops in the area is open past 6pm so I sent the family on the train to NYC and slept at a sketchy Super 8. (Do not stay at Super 8 Milford unless you are hoping to engage in something illegal) Was the first person waiting outside of Town Fair Tire at 7:45am and learned that the tires on the car I borrowed are much larger than normal (20 inch rims) and they'd need to get them delivered from a warehouse. Getting tires delivered from the warehouse would typically not arrive until the 2pm. I explained my situation, that my wife and kids were in NYC waiting for me before our 3pm flight out of JFK, and the guys at Town Fair Tire in Milford made some calls and made an emergency rush delivery that had the tire on site within 45 minutes. I am truly grateful the team at Town Fair Tire Milford didn't just brush me off and had me to wait like it was normal business. Instead they cared enough to help a random man who was having a rough 24 hours and that made all the difference. To the men at Town Fair Tire in Milford, thank you. read more

Before yesterday's visit, I would have recommended this place to anyone due to their price guarantee, free flat repair and honest business practices. On this snowy day, I went in needed a flat repair on my front drivers side tire. They are not taking appt for flat repair which is sort of clear on their site and not at the same time. I went in at approximately 1:10pm and was told I had to to drop off my car. The guy I spoke with could guarantee that it would be done today which would be by 7 when they closed. I called at 5:15pm and the girl Michelle that I spoke with said that she could not give me an update on my car because the shop wasn't answering the phone. I finally got my car back at about 5:30pm. It should not take over 4 hours to do a flat repair. I do appreciate that they did not just try to completely replace my tire when it only needed the repair. Hence the 3 star review instead of 2. I bought a set of tires from here a year ago and was told they were 60k mile tires and to rotate them every 5k which I did. I have only driven 20k miles and brought the tires in to get rotated and have one checked since it wasn't holding the PSI. I was told the tires are bald and I need new tires. When I said no the employee who was outside with me said it was illegal for him to check the tires any further unless I bought a new set. I asked how it was illegal and he couldn't answer me and just said the tires are bald and they won't check the tire. I was dumbfounded by this and his lack of customer service. The funny part is my vehicle is part of a large corporate account and because of this interaction they will soon be losing the entire account. Maybe don't try and rip people off and know your audience before you try and steam roll them to make a profit. read more

I went there yesterday as I had finally decided it was time to replace the tires. I called up and spoke to John who made my appointment with ease. He was able to fit me in and within 20 minutes, I was there. He gave me all the prices on the phone so I knew what to expect and even went through the brands and their related performances and never tried to upsell me. He knew what my car needed and what performance issues I'd have with different models, and he helped pick a great tire for a great price. It was a lot cheaper than I had expected, which was definitely nice. In about an hour, the 4 tires were replaced, wheel balance was done, and I was out the door. DO NOT COME HERE! This is by far the SLOWEST town fair tire I've ever been to! I had an appointment for 9:30am, it is now 12:12pm! Why am I still here waiting?!!! Nobody has told me to keep me updated on how much time is left with the work. There's one guy sitting down, one guy actually helping a customer, and 3 other guys behind the counter bullshitting looking at their phone. Not one person that was available came up to me and told me "oh miss you're car is halfway done" or something like that. I will start by saying I never write bad reviews. Also, I have used this place for all my tire needs in the past. However I will never use them again. For the 5th time in a row I have gone in with a relatively new tire with lots of tread and a slow leak and all five times instead of plugging the tire they say the "nail was on the seam" and that I need a new tire. Well not only that, but as I was sitting in the waiting area, I saw the TV monitor and the technician had the wrong tire off the car. I went straight back to the area and he said "well, I'll check that tire too". Shocker, I now had two tires that needed to be replaced. Total joke. When I asked what was the cause of the leaks, the guy told me there was a nail in one tire and tar on another tire. How the hell does tar cause a leak? Was the tar on the seem, too? If I could rate them negative stars, I would. This place is the most unethical place you can ever do business with. Drive down the street to Firestone or Costco if you need tires. Recently brought 4 tires from them had them mounted and the whole deal. Well I needed to have breaks done about 3 month later and the garage couldnt get one of my tires off because they had cross threaded one of my lug nuts. When I went back there to complain about the problem they denied it was there fault and as I protested further all of a sudden every damn employee was around me and the manager... like some kind of intimidation tire gang! I had the displeasure of dealing with this place this morning . I bought a new car with a dealership that has a deal for them to replace tires if they need to be replaced. When I arrived, everyone was very pleasant except for the employee named Joe. Right from the start he "heard nothing about it" and "they dont deal with _______ ( car company's) customers they deal with the company. " He stomped away to call the company and when he came back it looked like I was getting the tires - well his attitude was awful and he said, "Yeh they promised you so we have to do it." I finally had enough of this unprofessional attitude so I told him his attitude and lack of customer service was disgusting. He repeated his banter insisting he was only "helping." It didnt matter to him that we had been customers of this company for years, what seemed important to him was this situation in which whoever scheduled and approved my appointment should have handled it differently. He snatched my number away, Then he told me I could leave and go back and have the company bring it. He tried to tell the company that sent me I was making a scene, but it was him who was stomping, raising his voice, and snatching the number from my hand. These actions were witnessed by other people waiting outside and a customer who was waiting even said "Wow" to me outside about his behavior. I just shrugged. I placed a call to corporate- I'm pretty sure I got the guy who responds to these reviews online- and they spoke to Joe who said that he "didn't feel comfortable working on my car. " Well - that was good because at this point after that treatment I didn't want him anywhere near my car! However- through the pre arranged appointment that "he knew nothing about" they had to do the work. So guess who got their tires on? I actually left and had the company bring it and check the car when it was finished because I felt like he might do something to my car. Myself, and my family wont be back ( sad because we were customers for years before this). One bad apple really does spoil the bunch. read more

Amazing service!!!! Recently purchased wheel and tire package with Eric at the Derby location. He was so great. Never once did he make us feel ridiculous for asking repeated questions and going over various prices for numerous wheels and tires. He gave us a great deal price beating another company. Not only that but these service guys went above and beyond helping us in our specific situation on our Jeep Wrangler with special order tires and four wheel alignment. I dropped off the car on Friday. Tire was leaking air (purchased the tires at Town Fair Tire. Left car. Got a call. I was told the tire could not be repaired. Came to get the car. Was told the car was not safe to drive. Went home, got spare summer tires. Came back. Dropped off tires, marked LF, RF and already mounted. Came back, picked up car. They mounted the front tires on the back, back tires on the front. These are staggered tires. It is totally unsafe to do that! Gulp. Came back (again) dropped off car. Was told the car would be done in 10 minutes. Called 90 minutes later...was told the car would be done in 10 minutes. Called 60 minutes later, was told the car was done. Went back, picked up car. All tire valve caps were missing!! Too tired to fight over valve caps. Bottom line: had to visit the place 6 times. Was never told the car was unsafe until I came to pick it up. Was left with a car in an unsafe condition after the summer tire swap. The people are just malfunctioning. I took it all in stride, but my GF came in and was totally pissed. A nonproductive conversation ensued at which point the counter person never takes responsibility or says they are sorry. After mounting the tires backwards I did get an apology (that is nice, but wow, what an exposition!). We basically blew our Saturday on a routine tire change. Upon reflection, after a good nights' sleep, I can only say, they are the low-cost provider and you get what you pay for! After I got home, I got a tire low pressure light. All the tires were low by 10 lbs or more. The people never checked the pressure! You know, this safety issue. Come on guys! Safety should be job #1! read more
