I've been coming here since I started driving over 10 years ago. I've always felt at other auto repair shops the men look at me and think she knows nothing and overcharge me or just don't respect me. At burns, they always explain what is happening to me and I've had my tire repaired a number of times from running over nails or screws. I've lived in this town my whole life and I've never been to this place. Better late than never! This place is a life saver and so helpful! I took my car in today because there was a leak in the tire. I spoke to James about it and he said yeah we'll definitely take a look at it. The wait was no longer than 15-20 minutes. They are very professional and polite. They really look out for you because the service they provided was FREE of charge! It was to plug the hole in my tire and patch it up. I was really shocked. Months back I happened to get a nail in my tire and stopped here to see if they could fix. They fixed my tire and did not charge anything since it was minor. If I went anywhere else they might have tried to sell me a new tire. Because of their commitment to me as a customer I came back and brought new tires from them. He is so friendly, communicates well and is kind and patient with every person he interacts with as well as his co-worker which I did not get his name. These guys are great, long story short I had a tire blow out. Got a few quotes in the area which charged more. I then called these guys which in turn actually was able to get me all 4 brand new tires (extreme contact contis) in a short few hours and have them all installed in about 20-30 min. To top it off he gave me a spare tire to use for free just to get my car out of the lot where I was able to get it to just after the tire blew out. With this free tire I was able to drive out the lot and run some errands while my new tires came in, who does that? I'll come back here for any tire issues. read more

I had an issue with my valve stem, which got bent from an air hose at a gas station in Stratford and I was losing air. I purchased my tires from Town Fair but don't like the shop near my home. The Stratford Women's Group on Facebook had recommended them, so I pulled over to get the info and gave them a call. They took me right in and helped me. Have gone to Burns Tire for my snow tires as well as replacement tires for my car. Rich is a very nice guy, prices are reasonable, and they are usually pretty quick. I wish they had extended hours at least one day a week as I don't work close to the shop, so Saturday mornings are my only option. I wish I had more cars to buy tires for-- that's how much I love Burns Tire. I wish there were more businesses like this place. My father sent me to Burns a few years ago and Rich and his guys patched a flat for me on the spot. Since then I've been back for a new set of tires, balancing and various patch jobs. I even dropped in when my Jeep's rear tire had rusted on and they knocked it off for me at no charge. They've also checked potential problems for me at no charge. They go WAY above and beyond. Every time I've been there I've had a great experience and I can say the same for everyone in my family. Rich is always smiling and his employees seem to really like working there. I recently brought a car to them thinking we needed four new tires and Rich quickly brought it down to only one that actually needed replacing. Today, Nov 4, 2016 I went to Burn's Tire Exchange to get 4 new tires. I dealt with Rich the owner. What a wonderful, kind person he was. He told me about several different tire brands and did not try to sell me the most expensive. The price was right for the tire I chose. I only had to wait 30 minutes. While I was waiting at least 10 or more people came in to get tires, or get repairs and just to get quotes. I would recommend this place to every one that I know!! This is the best place around. I got new tires there back in October...great experience and cheaper than Town Fair or any other major chain. Recently, I was having a slow leak in one of the tires...I went back there to see if there was anything that could be done. I was hopeful that it was something minor...but expected to have to pay to get a 3-month old tire fixed or replaced. They brought in my car...found a small nail in the tire...pulled it and fixed the tire....all in less than 10 minutes. Best part about it...the tech came in, explained that there was the nail, handed me my keys. And, in the end, they charged me NOTHING. I was coming here for years and was happy to find a local shop with good prices. The owner was always accommodating and friendly. Fast forward to the present and I don't know what happened??? The last two times I have called I have gotten the son (I think Jake?); both times for 4 tires that I had, to be mounted and balance and both quotes were $150!!! I used to pay $100 when I was dealing with the father. I even told him that I had been going to Burns for years and would hate to go to another shop, but he didn't care. I now go to a different shop. My car was three weeks old - my tire was 3-weeks old. I had a slow leak due to a small screw 2-inches away from the sidewall. Brought the car back to the dealer who then brought the car a few blocks away to a famous national tire store chain. Dealer came back and told me the screw is too close to the sidewall and I needed to buy a new tire or I would get stuck on road somewhere with a flat tire. They told me they would put a new tire on right now for only $280. Mind you I had just given them $42,000 for the car. I said why dont you put my full size spare on? They said they guess they could do that. Ive only lived in Stratford for 1-year and I pass Burns Tire Exchange every day - always busy so stopped by there. I did not say a thing about my experience earlier that day - I just told them there was a screw in my tire. They were very nice and very professional. They removed the tire immediately and told me they would call when its ready. They called me and I went to pick up the tire. Because I had never purchased a tire from them I expected to pay for the repair and was happy to do so. When they told me the price I was shocked: it wasn't $20, it wasn't $40, it wasn't $50...IT WAS FREE -- yes they repaired it (and did a great job) at NO CHARGE. I told them I would honor their kindness by returning when my wife or I need new tires and would purchase them from Burns Tire Exchange. I then told him the story about the dealer and City Unfair Tire (not the teal name) and he said nothing - he just told one of the techs to put the tire on my car. read more
