We ordered the chicken fries (like how are you out of the cluck puppies as a chicken restaurant), fried green tomatoes and the fried cauliflower. It took it a minute to arrive (and that's being generous). Another server (sweet young lady with pig tails) filled our beverages as she could see our server was MIA - well not really but to us he was. She apologized and said that he has a larger table as well - we were looking right at it. 5 people is not a larger table, but I digress. We decided that we would leave, BUT if the appetizers were indeed good that we would stay. Finally they came. The chicken fries, basic. You mean to tell me that you minced a chicken tender and sprinkled it on fries and that's it? The fries were good though. . The cauliflower was fried to absolute perfection - but how do you not toss it in the sauce? I've got to dip it... really.. and the sauces that were desirable aren't even offered for cauliflower. Here's the kicker - the fried green tomatoes were so laden with grease that I had to take paper towels to soak them up enough to eat? Did someone think this was ok to serve? We decided to just cash out and leave. When the server came back to take our order, we just chose to get the check and pay. He was VISIBLY not impressed that we chose to not order anymore food. Would you? Well, maybe you would, but NOT us. Bonus point - upon leaving we saw that they had a bar area. Maybe it would have been a better experience sitting there ‍

The first thing that caught my attention was the authentic Irish pub feel. The dark wood, stained-glass accents, cozy fireplace, and traditional décor create a welcoming space that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. We happened to visit while Team USA was playing in the FIFA World Cup, and the pub was packed with fans cheering throughout the match. The energy in the room made the experience even more memorable. I ordered the hand-battered chicken tenders and fries, and they were excellent--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My brother ordered the fish and chips and kept saying they reminded him of the fish and chips he had while traveling in Ireland. We also shared an order of bangers and mash, which was rich, hearty, and exactly what you'd expect from a classic Irish pub. Whether you're stopping in to watch a match, enjoy a meal, or simply experience one of Little Rock's most inviting pubs, Dugan's Pub is well worth a visit.
