Quick late-night stop on our trip through little rock and we were pleasantly surprised. Definitely a bar's bar. But, the live music corner is great and the upstairs balcony is super fun as well. Lot's of brick and wood. The lighting is a little on the darker side. The grilled cheese and fries were the perfect late snack and the pasta was incredible - cheesy, melty, and super flavorful. The band was great that night and I really enjoyed watching from the 2nd story balcony. Food came out quick and the beer selection was really good. Full service bar and great food. The music was good. I was pleasantly surprised they played a song by one of my favorite artists. However the blonde woman bartender was rude all night and had a stick up her... We walked in excited for a night out with friends and were polite, but one of us asking her to make a drink evidently was too much for her and she had an attitude the rest of the time. This bar gets five stars because it does the things it wants to do right right. It's kind of dark, definitely smokey, and has cold beer. We visited shortly after they opened on a Thursday and it got progressively more crowded before we left around 7. If you are looking for a dive bar in the north Little Rock area this is your place. Loved this bar. Dropped in on a pub crawl down Main St and this place had just opened. Reminds me of those old bars in New Orleans or the Ohio Club in Hot Springs. Like a speakeasy. This is a bar how it should be done. Not like those new bright and shiny bars that keep popping up. A no frills great place to unwind and toss back a few (drinks). Not a place to take the kids (as some so often do ) but a place to get hammered. This used to be the old gay bar "Sidetracks" and from some online reviews I have read, from people who have never been, some people think it still is a gay bar. Keep in mind, just like the old speakeasies, this is a smoking bar. They have a nice sitting area upstairs if you think it's too crowded. Do yourself a favor and check it out. read more

Went in on my birthday to get some of the oysters and they were out also had no fried mushrooms. Was told that they sell out fast and I should have come in during the week. My question is if they sell that fast shouldn't they increase their order? Also I have come in Sunday before and they had oysters so I felt that I was lied to. read more

Whoa! This place has been here *forever* - I have a hard time rating this one. On the plus side, it's open late (kitchen too), has a really nice laid-back vibe and a very cool bartender, not to mention delicious food and local beer on tap (not the same ones you're likely to find a dozen other places either). The upstairs area also has shuffleboard and a small game table with dominoes. Oh, and there's a Billy Dee neon lamp, can't beat that! On the downside... It's fairly small, you can smoke inside (big ding), there are a lot of regulars who, while nice, definitely set the tone for the space. And, for said upstairs space: don't jump. It's just barely 6' floor-to-ceiling in most places. Also, it is on the pricey side for some decidedly underwhelming cocktails. Still, on balance, I had fun :) it was unique, it was distinct, it easily accommodated a rowdy eight-person group late on a Thursday night and made it fun. Most of the staff was on it. Nice guys and had good personalities. Two were working there asses off while the "pretty boy" was swooshing his hair, playing with the shot glasses, trying to look busy and pouring jägermeister shots. Beers weren't too cold and all the hags chain smoking was a bit much to take. The spam, egg and cheese sammy is freaking delicious! Just get one as you will love it! 5 star sammy for bar food. Great blend of food, atmosphere, and drinks. This place begs to be your watering hole of choice. For a small (around $5) yearly membership fee, you get a low-key bar/restaurant that stays open til 2am every night of the week. On the north side of the river, that is rare. The kitchen stays open, and not begrudgingly, until 130am, which is a godsend for night owls, especially with the quality of the food. The crowd skews young and hip, but not overbearingly so. Live music on weekends brings blues, alt-country, bluegrass acts, while week nights has funk, jazz, blues records to set the mood. During my last visit I pulled out Soundhound on my phone to identify a few choice songs to add to my library. A long bar offers plenty of seats, there's a good number of tables downstairs near the stage, and an upstairs seating area provides both an intimate setting and a view of the stage. Drink choices include a good selection of craft brews on tap, the ubiquitous PBR tall-boy, plus a full bar. Conan is pretty much a local legend behind the bar, and he and his crew do a fantastic job of being attentive and friendly. Bathrooms are clean and not dangerous feeling. If you even think you like smoked pork, do yourself a favor and get any menu item that includes Four Quarter's Mountain Home, AR sourced, in-house smoked pulled pork. Personal recommendation is the Porkaletta ($8.50) which is a smokier, less salty cousin of the New Orleans classic. Pulled pork and crunchy, vinegary slaw topped with a pepperoni, salami, and olive tapenade, plus provolone, on traditional muffuletta sesame-bread. Best bar in North Little Rock hands down. This place is a little bit of a dive feel but just enough to not be pretentious but not enough to make you feel dirty. We're latecomers to Four Quarter, even though our daughter and her daughter love the place. We first ventured in to hear KK and the Reverend, a blues band from Hot Springs. What we discovered was a great selection of beer from local breweries, and some very tasty eats. My personal favorite is the hamburger, one of the best in town, with waffle chips that are cut and fried just right. The Three Taco plate and the Chimichanga are excellent, too. Look for the food to get even better with Sammy Cyz leading in the kitchen! When it's busy it can be loud and smokey and fun when you're in the mood. Pick your hours and it can be a comfortable, quiet dark neighborhood bar. The mood shifts. There's a full-service patio out back that's quiet even when the band is playing inside. This is what a bar should be. It's the farthest thing from the chain bars as you can get. It's smoky, smells like beer and pork. No frills, just great food, great music and cold beer. If you get offended by smoke, loud bar patrons, gay people, straight people, white people, black people or any people at all, this bar is not for you because all are welcome here.
