There was a $7 cover charge for women and $12 charge for men. The drinks were pouring and the music was loud and great. This is a great spot to come to when in town. This is a nice big dive bar. Locals everywhere! People are nice and friendly but minding their own business. The staff was friendly and attentive and it was easy to find a place at the bar. They have a full bar with beer on tap too. We were hungry so we ordered the cheese burger and it was no disappointed. It didn't take long for the food to arrived. The fixings were fresh and the meat was thick and delicious. It's a smoking bar so if you don't like that then you shouldn't come here even though it didn't feel like a smoking bar. They have good ventilation. Overall I liked this place and definitely will come back here when we are back in town. Nice place to have a beer and a good burger. read more

STAY FAR AWAY! I went here with a guy i did not know that drove me from Twin Peaks over there around 12:15 a.m on October 14, 2024 in a Jeep. Upon entry to the establishment they took my credit card and said they needed to keep it until my departure and said there was a 20 buck entry fee... lol. While seated at the bar - at least two individuals approached me selling drugs and i politely declined. When the dude that drove me over there left and went outside - i asked them to deliver my ticket and to my surprise it was $85 .... for certain probably added other folks drinks to my tab as i had just a hamburger and one drink. Subsequently, paid my tab and went out the rear lighted exit sign after ordering my uber ride. This is when it really gets sketchy and am fortunate to be unharmed. Two guys follow me outside (one white and one black). The white guy states he was head of security for the Midtown Billiards bar. He informed me I am required to depart in the front exit and when i declined to re-enter the establishment the security guard proceeds to tell me he was in Iraq and could and would crack my skull. To de-escalate the situation after processing the violent threat, thankfully I decided to re-enter and depart through the front. The "so called" security person pushed me in the back as I was about to go back in and asked him not to touch me again. Then i asked if he was a convicted felon and he got real angry and proceeded to say he was and would enjoy cracking my skull on the concrete. As soon as we arrive back to the front entrance the security guard tells the uniformed Little Rock Police officer i was being rowdy and was being kicked out - which was blatant lie. ...Will certainly never go to this nasty, filthy and-scary place ever again! read more

If you are hungry, late at night, and you are in LR-- you come here! Order a burger. With EVERYTHING on it. If you feel the need to add bacon, do so, it's a blessing. Drinks, awesome bar tenders, awesome security, awesome burgers. I love them all! While writing this up, I'm enjoying an awesome cheese, eggy, gooey, hot, and bang up job of a burger made by Mel. I like mine with everything (hold the spam, tomato, and ketchup---add cheddar and pepper jack). Meaty, spicy, seasoned, and PERFECTLY JUICY! A lot of people are regulars here, but newbies are also welcome. They usually have good music playing on the radio, and sometimes great bands! There is a membership fee (People in the service industry, ask about special membership fees). They are open LATE, which is awesome for us in the service industry! It is 21 plus, and smoking. My friend Tricia refers to this place as hell-mouth and she's not far off. The black gaping maw of Midtown welcomes you with a foul stench and questionable patrons. The bartenders cop an attitude, you've got to pay a cover because it's "a private club" and don't think you'll leave without a layer of grease on your clothes. It's not ALL bad. They do have spam sandwiches which are surprisingly edible after 100 vodka waters. Also, because it's an after hours spot, dudes are drunk enough to be very open about their desire to take you home. Went here because the local bar tenders told us it was a good after-hour bar. We came down just to be told it's a $12 cover per person. We asked what entertainment they had? Response "none it's a cover to get in your not a member" 3 people $36 then by drinks no entertainment. Not a good combo unless your local. The attitudes towards Midtown Billiards are polarizing. On one hand, you have people who enjoy going to this dive bar to listen to live music, grab a cheap PBR, and probably enjoy one of the best burgers they ever had. On the other, you have those who will probably say, "Ewwww! Midtown Billiards! You'll probably catch something from there." But guess what, it's a dive bar! And honestly, it's probably one of the best dive bars I have ever visited in Little Rock! The venue just oozes personality (or maybe it's oozing some other type of substance), but I enjoy coming here a few nights a week because it gives those Arkansan transplants, the opportunity to socialize after 2 a.m. I am from Miami, after all, the epicenter of beach life, and Midtown Billiards is definitely an escape from it all. What?! So and so bar is closing at 1 am/ 2 am, not at Midtown. They are open until 5 am. If you come here, I would not recommend parking across the street because I have heard from word of mouth (have not experienced it myself) that cars get broken into. There is always space a few streets up which may be safer, so I recommend parking there. I also would recommend visiting Midtown on a Saturday night because they have live music. There are also pool tables, but they always seem busy when I come here. There is a cover fee to visit Midtown, but I recommend purchasing a membership if you plan coming here more than once, it may be $15 (not sure), but after that it is free admission to come any night, but you have to pay $5 if there is a live band playing. Try the cheeseburgers-- they are hearty and delicious. Overall, a good place to visit if you are in Downtown Little Rock. If you like bars with personality, do not mind the grit and grime, Midtown is definitely the perfect place to visit, if you cannot sleep and need to quiet your mind with a refreshing PBR. read more

Review for Bottle Toss- Thursday Nites At 7 sharp! The object is to throw a btl into a garbage can sounds easy eh? You show up at seven-give your name to the bartender and when you are called you have a chance to make it into the Trash container- it's not that far on the first try you may think- then comes the 2nd and The 3rd-the object is to not be the last one that did not make it-know why?-cause then You get to buy a round for all those who made it. I made it on my 4th try and all I heard was beginners luck and all- Yet me being Left-handed and in my Right mind I clearly knew that after 2 beers it was better to "bank" it off the wall. Go and do yourself a favor and join- it's a very social thing- not too late and not too early- usually lasts an hour or so which leaves plenty of time to go home and shower off the midtown smell. read more

I am all for the dives of the world, in fact, I love them. However, this place is just a bit to much for me. Among my friends and I, we refer to this place as 'The Midtown Virus.' It is dirty, nasty, smells of urine and stale beer, the bathrooms are aweful and everytime we visit there we seem to get sick and see a referee standing in the field just in front of 'The Designing Women' home. The sickness may come from to much beer but man this place lingers in your cloths for days after. It is that type of bar. If you are gonna go to Midtown, go early and leave early. The later you are there the more you will become one of them. To be a Zombie as you take a piss infused tour of a local iconic place with a stage the size of a postage stamp. A must visit place but only once. If you like the backward smell of alley bars, then this is your Mecca. read more

I am actually going to attempt to review this place... You will not find a better burger...probably because you are wasted out of your mind but it's up for debate. You will not find friendlier people...again probably because you were ALL wasted out of your minds. You will leave absolutely broke even though tallboy PBRs cost $1.50. You will forget your credit card. You will lose an article of clothing. You will wait in line for the bathroom for half an hour (good thing the place is open'til 5am). You will have had several, unintelligible, heated conversations by the night's end resulting in either a bloody fight, a mystifying enemy alliance, and/or possibly making-out. Midtown...a place of varying degrees of peril; a concoction of contradicting elements; misery and comfort in one place. At times, I relate to Ahab when endeavoring to put into words the eccentricity that is Midtown. People in the Midwest do not believe me that this white whale exists. I hope they never find out for themselves. My feelings about the place are very conflicted. For newbs: If you're the DD, you will absolutely hate it. If you are not the DD...you'll probably hate yourself in morning. I moved away from Little Rock mostly because of that place...and to go to alcohol treatment...just sayin'. Oh Midtown how I do love the. This has to be in the top ten of dive bars in the USA! Always a great time here and I'm always meeting fun, new, and interesting people. This is as real as it gets because people come here to have a good time not to play dress up and dance to hip hop with your pants sagging to the ground. When they don't have a live band playing it always seems as though they have the perfect playlist of music going and last but not least the burgers here are magical! Perhaps I am bewildered because I have never encountered such ridiculousness, however; I am nonetheless bewildered. After acquiescing by agreeing to pay $5.00 to enter, only to spend more at the bar, I was informed that I would not be allowed to bring my bag inside. Neither is my bag inexpensive, nor are its contents. I surmised I would be able to sit at the bar and peruse/work on my tablet. Kurt was very polite, but this policy is extremely anti-cosmopolitan. Someone refered to this as the 'Mouth of Hell' and they arent far off. But, man, what a great place! The second I walked in I had to pay a cover. Whatever. Right after I did that, I looked around and though to myself, 'Oh man, I f*cked up.' I couldnt have been more wrong. The crowd is awesome and you find all sorts in there. There's exactly two pool tables so, dont come here expecting billiards. It might be the single filithiest place I've ever been and the bathrooms give the Scottish bathroom in Trainspotting a run for it's money. The beer selection is OK but, you arent there for beer. You're there for the heavy handed bartenders and, I cant believe Im saying this, one of the best hamburgers on the planet! The burger they make there is out of bounds good!! Especially at 3am! Get one, trust me. They also have a burger challenge. If you eat the whole thing it's free, if not, it's like $26. Which, for what you get, is a bargain. It's something like 4 patties and a full block of Spam. I think they put the Spam on there just to be dicks. LOL This place is great! Just in a bad part of town. I can't have a Yelp! account and not review good ole Midtown! You can love it or you can hate it - but everyone knows it. It's pretty much the epitome of a dive bar, it looks like hell, mismatched furniture, cracked paint, just plain dirty - but it seemingly adds to it 'character'. It's a late night hot spot, especially on the weekends, for after-hours party-goers & service industry people, considering must clubs/bars in this town close around 1-2am. Midtown closes at 5am. There are 4 pool tables, but if you come on a weekend night, you probably won't be playing them, but probably pushed against one in the crowd. Oh, and grab a burger or spamburger to compliment your PBR tallboy while you're there. It's definitely an experience. read more
