This center just opened and Lashelle and Manoj were so helpful and understanding in our situation. So knowledgeable and kind. I appreciate them so much from the tour to our last day. My son's teachers kept quitting and new teachers were joining, with the average tenure of teachers being 1-3 months. (In stark contrast, he now goes to a different daycare where he has the same teachers throughout the almost 9 months he has spent there. ) There was a teacher in his classroom who reported having Covid to the school but the school did not send out a timely notice, only sent it out after I emailed them and asked about the incident. My son ended up getting Covid and resultant chronic ear infections from their tardiness. Very disturbing, callous and borderline illegal. Don't send your kid here.

The facility looks new and spacious with a large ballroom where the concert was held with plenty of room for round tables and rows of chairs closer the stage. There's even a Zen garden courtyard at the facility that looks very nice, although it was locked when I was there. There are numerous classrooms, long hallways with photographs of Asian scenes framed for sale, and even a ping ping table. I'm sure there's a lot to explore that I missed, but especially nice is the splash pad outside that has beautiful tile artwork and large granite sculpted petals rising up from the ground.

The "refund" was just days after they asked me to pay for the full month (rather than the 15 days that we were contracted with). The rest of the amount is for suspending my kid without following their policy. I do say "expelled" because they weren't letting my kid back after their 2 week policy that they admitted to not following. It would have been months. The owner has since reached out via email, but the verbiage is just as hostile as her response here and officially saying we're not welcome.

The instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and really pay attention to form ... which makes such a difference. The workouts are no joke (in the best way ). You'll shake, you'll sweat, and you'll feel muscles you didn't even know you had but it's always supportive and encouraging. I also love that they mix things up, and each instructor brings something a little different, so classes never feel repetitive. The owners, Maggie and Andrew, are so nice and welcoming! You can truly feel that they care about the community they're building. Maggie is also one of the instructors, and she will definitely put you to work (in the best way ). The studio is clean, welcoming, and has such great energy. Classes are capped at 8 people, so you get way more one-on-one attention compared to bigger classes with 15+ people. It'll be hard to see her graduate to kinder, but we'll likely continue in their after school program too to keep up the Spanish. My favorite things about this school: 1. Most of the lead teachers have years of experience and are doing this as a career rather than part time add on to a college degree. 2. All of the teachers are warm, caring, and nurturing. It's in their culture at YPW. 3. Full immersion Spanish! In fact, we felt like they were being too easy at one point this year and letting our kids ask questions in English, but after one request from the parents to pay attention to that, it got more rigorous again immediately. My daughter understands them very well and occasionally starts talking to me in Spanish without realizing it, so I can tell she can speak in full sentences now too. I wish we had this option from when she was 3 months old, but this location wasn't around then! But I'm glad we got enrolled as soon as we did.
