If you like a good bookstore this one should not be missed. I recently visited after a few year hiatus and loved to see how much it has stayed the same, but also evolved. First, the greeting cards have always been and are still the best selection. I love a good card and they truly have such unique ones that fit any life event or just because; they ring from funny to inspirational, to comforting and artistic. They also have a great selection of journals (my angsty teenage self filled up a few purchased here) and most recently I perused an incredible array of gourmet Italian chocolates and other fun dessert centric goodies. They have fun and artsy bags and hats, to art supplies and kids gifts... not just books. The kids nook is so sweet. Overall, such a great store that is so much more than books. It has stood the test of time. We bought a kids book about Nantucket for our toddler and we're excited for it as a keepsake.

I have to say, if you go to UMass Dartmouth and buy your books at the store on-campus, you are a…read moresucker. Majority of the time, I buy my books before class on abebooks.com, but when it comes to the classes where it's a "do I really need to waste $100+ on a book i won't crack open once?" situation, I wait 'til the first class. So was the case with my English book, which is a massive ~2.5" book. It's normally an $80 book new, and I bought it here brand new for $53 (right now on Amazon used copies are going $59 before shipping!), plus they have the option to rent (not with this particular book), which basically you pay full price and then get half back when you return it at the end of the semester, which works out in your favor more often than not (especially when it's a book with a new edition soon to be printed, those clever publishers). Also thought it was really nice of them to pass out bottles of water and bags of chips since there was a pretty long line the other day. I suggest pre-ordering your book before since it will save you a half hour wait in line (plus I think you get a discount). Great stuff!

This is used stuff, and it's cheap. They have DVDs and CDs too, and they will take your donations. Ocean Village's thrift nature benefits from property values in surrounding communities. Generally, people who can afford to live around there buy nice books. It's extremely well organized and well laid out. It's big. One important thing is the parking lot, which puts in the back by the senior center behind a playground, which you have to drive around to park in front of the bookstore. It seems like you're not allowed to enter the back fence but, do, and be impressed.

Unassuming from the outside, when we entered we found a delightful, charming and beautifully-curated collection of home decor, hand-dipped candles, nautical-themed tchotchkes, original and lithograph wall art, and other such items, most of which are crafted locally.
