It's…read morea registered 501(c)3 nonprofit that shelters about 10 cats at a time, and you can instantly feel the passion Cora, Uri, and the volunteers have for rescue work. They've created a space that is the true definition of "mi casa es tu casa"--the cats basically own the place, roaming around freely while they rehabilitate and wait for their forever homes. It's so heartwarming to see them in such a chill, loving environment. What I appreciated most, though, was the educational side of the experience. They really take the time to highlight FIV kittens--which is basically the cat equivalent to HIV--and explain how they can live totally normal, happy lives with just a few standard precautions. Cora even touched on the biases that exist, even among vets, so I loved that I left not only feeling fuzzy from cat cuddles but also a lot more informed. Whether you're looking to adopt a new best friend or just want to spend some quality time with some kitties, I highly, highly recommend checking this place out and supporting their mission! As for food, you can bring in anything you'd like and if you're there for their tail thumping thursdays, you can also order delivery to it. They cannot serve food due to local laws and guidelines. They do have packaged snacks and drinks you can purchase to enjoy. In addition, they have merch you can also purchase. All purchases, including tickets, help fund the nonprofit.

I gravitate toward places with home-baked treats, chill energy, and humans who know how to share space well. My first visit to Hey Joe was genuinely enjoyable. It's the kind of spot that made me think, "If I owned a coffee shop, this is exactly what it would feel like." The staff were friendly, and there's plenty of seating including quieter side rooms perfect for conversation or focused work. The coffee is solid. No decaf espresso, which is a bummer, and the dry cappuccino wasn't quite dry, but still good. The biscuit was great: gorgeous, buttery exterior, though a bit soft inside. The jam paired nicely, too. I loved the soft music and the overall inviting atmosphere. There's no Wi-Fi, but my hotspot covered me just fine. Overall, a warm, charming place I'd happily return to.

So I decided my review, is just going to be lead sentences. Feel free to pick your favorite. Hey Joe and Jam, a new coffee shop in Chatham, is at the forefront of a high quality coffee shop Revolution near the Cape's Elbow. Perhaps no Coffee Shop in the Northeast, has ever created, such amazing homemade biscuits, and served them with their own homemade jam, and salted high end butter cubes. In my 30 plus years of drinking coffee, I can't recall ever being more amazed, at a coffee shop's cool, eclectic, and musically-themed decor, than I was at Hey Joe and Jam. If you love Snowy Owl Coffee, but can't make it to Snowy Owl, Hey Joe and Jam has you covered. Have you ever looked at a coffee shop's pastry sample plate, and wondered to yourself, "Is this quite possibly the best coffee shop sample plate ever?" 5 Stars

I can honestly say it's one of the best little cafes we've ever visited. I had never tried ube before, and for anyone unfamiliar like I was, it's a purple yam. I ordered the Banana brulee Cold Foam, and it was incredibly refreshing and packed with the perfect blend of flavors, topped with fresh bananas. It was absolutely delicious! The bread completely surprised me. It was evenly baked, incredibly moist, and somehow crafted to pure perfection. The ice cream was a treat as well, but honestly, everything we tried was phenomenal. We can't wait until our next trip to Massachusetts just so we can enjoy a few more bites. I also loved the purple theme throughout the cafe, although maybe I'm a little biased since purple happens to be my birthstone! One of my favorite touches was the owners' book, where you can see pictures and learn more about their story. It really adds a personal touch to the experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we would definitely recommend this place for a quick snack, dessert, or beverage. There is some temporary street parking available as well. If you're in the area, Kuya Jay's Ube Cafe is absolutely worth a visit!

The wait wasn't too bad and the menu had a good selection of ube flavored drinks and treats. The spot is located in this public space with nice lighting and some seating. The area also does cooking classes and has some areas to study. I actually got two drinks to try both and they were tasty - not amazing, but not bad given the price. Overall, I didn't mind the experience, but I have seen some troubling things online regarding permits that deter me from coming back unfortunately. Drinks tasted fine though!

Don't believe the hype. This store is NOT worth a trip to New Bedford…read more It's not because they don't have plenty of vintage clothes -- they do. It's just that 80% of their stock SUCKS. It's cheap and ugly vintage -- it's the stuff no one wants that would be left behind at a garage sale. Think heavy woolen overshirts from the 1950s and 1960s that fit poorly, look bad, and make you sweat, or old ugly polyester suits that were cheap when they were made and still look just as cheap. There are live moths and plenty of moth holes on the clothes here. Compare the price of 1970s blazer in mint condition -- here it's 85 bucks, at Goodwill in Boston, it's 8 bucks. The inventory of this store might be good if you're making a Scorcese period movie or for Halloween, but you're unlikely to wear anything that's here on a day-to-day basis. Most of the clothes here are HEAVY (physically heavy), and the racks are all so stuffed you can't look at anything without practically ripping it out of the rack, and then forget about trying to put it back. It's like the owner is afraid to throw anything away. This store would do much better if it were closer to Boston, or if it was in New York. Then maybe there would be far more turnover, hipper pieces, and fewer moths. If you want to see an exemplary vintage menswear store, check out Crowley Vintage in Brooklyn or Pick n Weight in Berlin. Don't get me wrong, I see what the store owner is trying to do here, and maybe 25 years ago, this was where it was at. But the world -- including the vintage world -- has changed, and this store's inventory is stuck in the past -- and not in a good way.
