i thought this place was cute & gave it a chance but everything went downhill i overpaid, the service was slow, and the food was wrong & mediocre i'm passing through barstow from vegas to cali & wanted a breakfast that wasn't fast food, so i looked online & found los domingos and saw the menu online as well. firstly i ordered takeout & told the cashier i was using the online menu, & she said okay. i ordered the chorizo & eggs burrito and the new mexico chicken enchiladas. on the website, these are 6.99 each, so that's what i assumed it was. she never told me the price, never read my order back to me, & didn't offer me to look at the physical menu. it should be reasonable i'm shocked that my receipt & card was charged $30+ when i was under the assumption each item was 6.99 plus tax. next, our server also told us it was a 10 minute wait. cool! we ordered at 8:19, but our food was not done until 8:50. 30 minute wait for 2 dishes. it wasn't even busy so i don't know why it took so long. this was very disappointing as we were on a trip, and now we were 20-30 minutes behind. if i had known it was gonna be a 30 minute wait initially i would've ordered somewhere else. my burrito came with beans after i specifically ordered the one without beans. and my girlfriend's enchilada chicken looked pink & questionable. i guess all i can say is the potatoes were good. i called the store after i left to ask how much each item was, & all they could say was the online website is outdated. how was i supposed to know that, and why did they never tell me my total & just charged my card? also sucks that the receipt doesnt tell me already how much each item was, just the total. the girl also initially gave me my food & said have a good day without charging me, but i was honest & said oh i didnt pay yet. i wish i never paid & i wish i never stopped here. would've rather got mcdonalds at this point. read more

I recently had dinner at Los Domingos during a road trip and am so glad I did. The restaurant is in a motel/lodge so I probably would not have even known it was there if I hadn't done a search for Mexican restaurants in the vicinity. It was easy to find and the space isn't fancy but it really smelled good in there as soon as I walked inside. The server was really nice and apologized for the wait (it was very busy) and everything on my plate was delicious. I had chile relleno, a shredded beef chimichanga, and a beef taco. My meal came with soup or salad - I chose the albondigas (meatball) soup. I also tried their steak fajitas and the meat was flavorful. Their refried beans were delicious too. Their menu is pretty huge so there are plenty of options for everyone, including picky eaters (they even have steak and burgers). Basically you can get Mexican classics, tacos, seafood, steak. We just had a really good meal here. Fair warning their food portion are HUGE. the only thing that was normal size was the fiesta guacamole. We are five people - free chip and salsa yum - fiesta guca. Didn't get made at table but tasty - mini taco appetizer for my 14 years old. She finished half. - two taco plate comes with rice beans and a small cup of soup. Chicken tortilla soup was amazing - pozole soup comes with rice and lettuce and was gigantic - one person los Domingo's fajitas shrimp chicken beef. Feeds two easily. You ma'am were bitching about the size of the menudo bowls at brunch. Saying that they were too small. She simply told you that you were welcome to serve yourself as many times as you wanted. Its an all you can eat brunch... everybody gets the same size. You wanted her to bring you a special bowl or something? If u want a bigger bowl then go buy a regular bowl of menudo. I also recently took a business associate, out for lunch who is not from the area I took him to one of my favorite place for Mexican food in Barstow. First time here, we were visiting family & this was the suggested spot to meet for great Mexican food. It's located in a quaint little hotel, super cute & historic feeling. The food is really flavorful. Items ordered this visit included the 2 item combo 1) hard shell beef taco 2) chicken flautas w/ rice & beans. Picante beans were chosen (you have the options of refried, pinto, picante or black beans. The picante were absolute FIRE!!! I'm so glad we tried them. It was a highlight for sure!! And will be a staple each visit. They were spicy but not overly. Also the enchilada suiza & the Mexican pizza. The Mexican pizza was also a surprise, we are only familiar w/ TB style MP so this was quite a shocker. It's pretty large & a full meal in and of itself. Chips & salsa are norm, decent but nothing to write home about. The service was on point & attentive. We didn't go without & all requests were fulfilled quickly & in full. All in all we will def return when we are in town again. (A few times a year) I'm really happy this spot, & will now be in our rotation of dinning options to enjoy with our family. We booked the Quality Inn in Barstow, partially due to the great reviews and convenience of having this restaurant on site and wern't disappointed! Let me start off by saying the service here for dinner wasn't great and I was really tempted to give 3 stars. However, the food was so good I had to give back a star. Plus the second part of my review is for the complimentary breakfast where both the food and service were great! For dinner, we were greeted and sat quickly by straight faced, not overly friendly staff. The guy bussing tables took our drink orders where I ordered a cucumber jalapeno margarita and specifically said "No Tajin". My guy ordered a dbl house margarita on the rocks. Both drinks came out wrong, his was blended and mine had Tajin. I kept my drink because the Tajin was light and not overdone like it tends to be. My guy sent his back and got a new drink quickly. We went through the several menu items and were ready to order for quite some time with empty drinks, where I asked two staff "who was our server and could they come take our orders?". Come to find out was the bartender, who was making drinks and had tables. He took our orders and the food came out, however my guys carne asada tacos were very cold, so he sent them back to be remade. I ordered the carne pastor, which came with pinepple slices, rice, beans, and tortillas. I also chose the chicken tortilla soup for my side, which was pretty tasty after we added lime. My food was hot and was the bomb! We both decided my plate was the best dish we ordered. My guys remade carne asada tacos and shrimp tostada were both tasty also. The salsa and chips that come on the table were "ok". For our second round of drinks I ordered their version of a Cadillac Margarita and my guy was supposed to get another house margarita, but instead he got a Cadillac. Because the drinks were good we kept them. Our server did end up checking in on us, and was friendlier than some of the other staff. The next morning we returned for the complimentary breakfast. I'll keep this shorter so in summary you get a good portion of food, which was also tasty and came out quickly! Our server was very friendly and I was very impressed with how well she took care of ALL the tables seated as was the only one out on the floor! My complaint here was that we ordered a ham steak in order to tip her, and when the bill came it was $3 more than on the menu we were given. I understand menu items change but $3 is quite an upcharge. The waitress took it off, no questions asked. All in all we really liked the food and based on the reviews we read ahead of time, wern't expecting awesome service. We will definitely be back if we are driving the area again! read more

As I was moseying my way onto the bathroom I saw a guy striking up a conversation with another guy who had just talked to the lady at the front. I was a bit worried for the ordering man's safety so I decided to stick close by just in case. Seemingly the ordering man was rude to the lady at the front according to the confrontational man. The ordering man seemed pretty chill so I'm not entirely sure if that was true, but there is no true way to tell. The confrontational man then said "I'm the owner's cousin and I'm going to have to ask you to leave". I don't know what it was about it, but I couldn't help but let out a little laugh. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the supposed distant relative of the owner would not get the power to do that. He was probably just lying, he seemed to be the type to do that. Perhaps I'm just judging a book by its cover. Regardless all that aside, I've never seen anything like that before so you have no need to worry about that happening to y'all. The food is great! My hubby had the chile verde omelette & absolutely loved it. I ordered the nopales and scrambled eggs, delicious just like home cooking. This restaurant is located inside of a slightly sketchy hotel in Barstow. Hesitant but we followed the signs, walked thru the lobby and sure enough a HIDDEN GEM. The service was outstanding. During our last few visits to the Barstow Los Domingos restaurant, the servers have been terrible. It isn't just the new servers or that they may busy. Which is neither. We're good tippers and not difficult customers so it's disappointing because the service used to be really good here. Now, it takes forever just to get utensils or refills. We usually get neither unless we ask for them which isn't easy trying to get a servers attention. Then it takes forever to receive our soup or salad. The best server there is Brittany. The rest should really learn from her. We discovered The Apple Valley Los Domingo's has better service and appears to be less expensive on some of our favorite items. read more

Amazing and tasty food. I had the albondiga, meatball soup. It was very deeelish! Chicken mole with rice n refried beans also did not disappoint. Service from staff was great. Attentive, friendly, and genuine. I didn't have an alcoholic drink but there is a full bar with multiple wall mounted tvs for watching sports n such. Looks like the restaurant n bar have been renovated, new flooring n decor is inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant if your craving mexican food. Menu also has a large variety of seafood plates which i noticed other patrons order. Looking for dinner in Barstow and this was one of the top places on Yelp. Couldn't believe it was at a Quality Inn, but after dinner I considered staying at the hotel next time. I had dinner here on a Wednesday around 6:30 pm and it was PACKED! It's kind of charming that a restaurant from a Quality Inn of all places would be the place to be. It's about a medium size dining area, but every seat was taken. I think the staff were even wondering what was going on. I'd compare this place to like a Jimenez Mexican restaurant back home, but it's better. The ablondigas were flavorful and tasted home made. I wish the chips were at least warm when they brought them to the table but they weren't. I had the Chile relleno and the beef enchilada and it was very good. Service started out fast in the beginning but was slow at the end due to the crowd. Overall, I'd stop in Barstow to eat here again. Absolutely terrible experience -- avoid this place at all costs. First of all, they got my order completely wrong, even though I was very clear about what I wanted. When I called to explain the issue, they lied about the manager's name and admitted they didn't actually have any manager on site. That already says a lot about how unprofessional this place is run. The food was disgusting -- way too salty and just plain bad. I couldn't even enjoy what little they got right. I was told I would get a reimbursement, but when I followed up, suddenly a different "manager" answered (if you can even call him that) and told me mistakes happen and he wasn't going to do anything about it. Seriously? The location is hard to find, hidden awkwardly inside a hotel with no clear signage. The place itself looks dirty and neglected, and the bathrooms are old and filthy. The entire vibe is just unpleasant. The service was rude and unhelpful, from the phone call to the actual staff at the restaurant. Honestly, I would never recommend this place. Save your money and your time--go somewhere that actually respects its customers and serves decent food. read more

I ordered the chipotle ribeye. The cut of meat was poor, the ribeye was 50% fat and bone. The cook did not trim it before serving. It is served on a hot skillet so a medium rare steak sizzle to well done. A steak is not fajitas, get a clue. I think Sysco has ruined the restaurant business, everywhere is the same. The Quality Inn gave us vouchers for breakfast at Los Domingo's and we were highly impressed with the service and the food we ordered. We had prompt, friendly service. Coffee and water were given to us immediately. We declined the juices which comes with your meal. Both of us ordered pancakes and sausage. It was delivered to us pretty quickly. 2 very massive soft and fluffy pancakes with plenty of butter and a delicious, fat sausage's. Neither one of us could finish the pancake's. Fabulous. As we were driving to Laughlin, my husband and I stopped to get a bite to eat at Los Domingos in Barstow. We didn't want to get your typical burger and fries through a drive thru, so we sat down for dinner. Note: You might miss the entrance to this place because the restaurant itself is located in the lobby of a hotel. Our server, Alisha, was sweet and kept her cool because for a Sunday evening, the place was packed. We got the shrimp ceviche, which was ok, but my Cubano sandwich was yummy and my husband got the NY steak with a lobster tail. His steak was cooked perfectly, which I wasn't expecting from the looks of this place, but it was good. This place is amazing. We were seated a few minutes before 10 PM as the yelp reviews says it closes at 12AM but we were handed menus and order drinks. The menu is absolutely huge! First, let me say that the portions were huge, and the food was really good! I really enjoyed the Seabass and the garlic shrimp, the meatball soup was very tasty. But the star of the meal was the Mexican stuffed baked potato, filled full of chili Verde pork other seasonings topped Mexican cheese blend. We each tried each other's choices and they were all very tasty. But OMG I'm glad I don't live near this place or he would be totally sabotaging my diet with that potato! The son of the owner is managing it, and he's very cool. Took care of us like a guy who really likes his business and the people that come. The ambience is a little dated, located in conjunction with an older hotel but truly ahead gem. This place is definitely worth stopping out every time I pass through Barstow!
