I am usually a fan of Holiday inns and have stayed at this property before. But after our last stay (Jan 2025), I will not stay at this location again. This property is not clean. It's borderline gross. The elevator carpets are super dirty which set the tone before we went to our room. The hallway ice machine was not working. The room carpets had white milk stain and the desk chair also has the same white residue. It looked like something the housekeeping could have just rubbed off cleaned. The bath had mold on the caulking and the shower had so much build up that water pressure was low. At breakfast time, the pancake maker was not working. Seems like many things in this hotel were "out of order" at this point. Overall this is a reflection of the property manager and overall maintenance of the property. With my last experience, the property manager does not care or is too cheap. In Barstow, near this property, there are so many other hotel options that are better. We have stayed at home 2 and Fairfield inn and they are all better. I would also look into Hampton inn next door.

Stopped by on our way back from Sedona. Room is cleaned. Checked in process expedient. Rooms were very clean. Decent breakfast with fresh fruit, waffle (make your own) cereal, eggs, sausage.

We are members of Holiday Inn . We are normally very happy. At the Holiday Inn. But this place falls very short of what I expect. The hot tub was filthy and slimy. The pool was ice cold. No pool towels. The bottle water was 5$. Our room has two phones neither work. The room was clean. Mattresses not great.

HIE is know for it's quality and service and I've stayed at dozens of HIE's. This is by far the worst one that I've ever stayed in. Just to list a few things... I checked into room 139 and for four nights, my TV was not working. I spoke with the front desk twice and they would put me on the maintenance list but it was never addressed. I was eventually moved to room 140. The couch in room 139 had several stains on it and there was a greasy hand print on the mirror in the entryway when I arrived. Room 140 also had stains on the couch. During my stay in room 140, I found a dead cockroach in the bathroom. I could have easily tossed it in the garbage but as a test, I spoke with the front desk to have it removed. Three mornings in a row, I asked the front desk to have someone remove the roach removed and they would write it down but it wasn't picked up until the third day. Housekeeping did change my towels and empty my garbage every day but did no other cleaning nor pick up the dead roach. One day, housekeeping changed my towels and emptied my garbage, a task that probably takes ten minutes but they turned the air conditioning on high and left it on. When I came back to my room at the end of the day, it was freezing in there. Did they really need to turn the air on for such a short time in the room? The woman who runs the breakfast bar should be fired. HIE is known for their cinnamon rolls and sometimes they were out at 6am, 630, or after 645. I would leave for work at 645 and 75% of the time, there weren't any rolls out by the time I left. It was extremely inconsistent. On two occasions, I found her chatting with the front desk person when there were empty coffee urns. Or, she would go on a break around 6-615am and there would be empty coffee urns. While eating my breakfast one morning, I counted five guests looking for coffee when there wasn't any and she was nowhere to be found. Other times, there were empty warming trays and again, she was nowhere to be found. Just about every other day, the door at the back of the building would not open. My coworkers and myself had gear that had to be carried all the way to the front of the building which made it quite annoying. On a positive note, the front desk workers were extremely professional and polite. There was a shorter man with a goatee that came to look at my TV one night and was not able to fix it. He did his job well. If I weren't staying here for work, I wouldn't stay here again.

The Holiday Inn Express at Barstow is conveniently located next to outlet shopping on the edge of the Mojave Desert. The hotel offers a modern and clean rest stop at reasonable rates. Breakfast and parking are complimentary. EV charging is available. The staff were pleasant and helpful. A safe and quality place to stay when traveling in the Barstow area.

    No hot water

The front desk agent was rude. At breakfast the pancake machine was out of order, no hot water for tea and the juice machine was out of all juices. In the room the shower head was brocken.

Terrible service. For the Tesla supercharger they will not allow you to use there bathroom in the lobby. We usually stay at Holiday Inns due to being close or next to chargers, however we have never been told the bathroom is for guests only. I will be using other companies from now on.

We stopped to sleep after a long day of traveling. The guy at the front desk was nice and even asked which floor we preferred. The room was clean and much larger than I expected. The mattresses were kind of thin and I could hear the springs. Still decently comfy. Breakfast was pretty good for a hotel. Eggs with cheese, turkey sausage, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, cereal, chocolate milk, almond milk, muffins, and fruit. Everyone was friendly. Would stay again if in the area.

Dirty air con filter. Needs to be changed.

Where to start? I will just list the issues: 1. At checkin (I am a Platinum Member) that asked me to manually fill in a form with details that are on my profile. Items like email, phone number, etc. I said "no...you already have all that." 2. The small kitchen sink backed up and had something rising up that looked like portions of tea leaves. 3. The filter for the air conditioning vent is filthy and quite unhealthy. 4. When we opened the extra blanket for our son to use in the couch an empty can of hard cider was in the pouch. I have appended pictures of the above. The king suite was definitely not worth what we paid for it.

We thought we would run out of things for them to do. Not at all. The mansion is so huge, they had plenty of room to stretch out, the hills on the property provided for fun sledding and snowman building. The adults were either at the sauna, jacuzzi, kitchen, outside in the snow walking the 2 acres of property or just relaxing in one of the many comfy nooks. I highly recommend Edgewood Mansion for any type of event whether it's a birthday trip, family reunion, corporate retreat or any other purpose where you want to feel like you're at home, or provided for like a Queen. The location which is located higher up in the mountains is away from the traffic. The accommodations are immaculate and the concierge services provided by Chantal who was available to us 24/7 before we got there and during, was spot on. We catered instead of cooking which was so much easier on everyone so we could enjoy each other's company versus cooking. Chantal gave us choices and she had Mexican food delivered one night, Italian catered another and on New Years Eve we had a personal chef, Mike who is a master chef create the most delicious surf and turf dinner. We had piles of Alaskan king crab legs and the freshest, tastiest filet. Everything was provided. This was an amazing trip because of where we stayed, the owner Laura who was so accommodating and Chantal who was so helpful. Our friends have not stopped thanking us for coordinating this trip. We all got to spend time together with the kids together and not feeling overwhelmed because everything was at our fingertips. We loved our hike to the lake for canoeing. I too thought the pool was chilly but it was clean! Their swim rules seemed to be really intense to me. "No jumping off the edge of the pool" hmmm ok. In my opinion overly cautious. However, the Rock wall was a blast, equipment was in good condition. Hatchet throwing was hard, but fun. I wish the hatchets were sharp enough to grab the wood. It was rare anyone stuck one into the log rounds. Some combination of wood being too hard or axes not balanced correctly made that activity a struggle. We enjoyed trying. The team building activities were thoughtful and stretched our girls as individuals and forced team unity. Maybe my favorite part of all of camp. They lost a star for food quality and portions but the staff was always in good spirit. Our cabins were dry when it rained and i felt safe from the elements and wildlife that can live nearby. Some mattresses were thicker than others. I was comfortable enough for a week of camping. The plumbing struggled at times but not sure that was the camps fault or the 85 GIRLS who MAY have not disposed of things properly. Lol Overall I think with some retraining on camp cooking and a minor tweak here and there this would be a 5 star camp. The location was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The activities were super fun!

The upside is the rates are pretty good! I got my room for about $130 booked the day of. The next closest Hilton was $166. I am traveling on business so I was unconcerned with particulars. I gather most people stationed here aren't trying to spend more than a night here. It is basically in the outlet stores. If you love you some outlet shopping then you need to stay here. You are right in it! Again I wasn't there for all that. In fact I was in the the beginning of what would an epic head cold ... I'm talking voice changes and generally not feeling that sick but sounding sick enough to have people recoil when you spoke. They have a pool. I think it looks like the web pics, the breakfast is standard for the hotel brand. Nobody is very out of their way nice or helpful which is ok. It's not like most people aren't the one nighters. Anyway, my only knock is that even on the nicer room (so I'm led to believe) you can hear EVERYTHING. The sound carries . At one point I convinced myself I might be going mad ....sure I could hear folks talking normally and such....But I had AirPods in and faintly heard crying. I'd take them out and listen and try to find where it was coming from to no avail. Over and over, to the point I slept without AirPods on and near the window. Then I HEARD the crying and jumped out of the bed! Only to find that a tomcat (cat was orange and white which is a male 90% of the time, you can look it up) out doing a mating call and just tomcatting around! Outside my window, wanting to break up my family! The audacity! No kitty, you go holler at someone else! Still unlike others I didn't see any roaches or anything dirty. I think they are getting right. IMPORTANT: they have these sharp guards for the mattress that aren't flush with anything and trust and believe SOMETHING will happen to hurt someone's leg. A good slice or chunk WiLL be taken by each bed with this set up. Go on and check yourself.. use a white towel/rag with a bit of water and swipe in the each of these basically Game of Thrones style spikes and I bet someone will come up with blood.
