TLDR: Cute room, friendly staff. I went to bed late like at 11:30 PM, and after I slept for what I thought was seven hours I decided I should get up and go to breakfast. It was actually just after 1 AM. I didn't sleep at all apparently. And how could I with the loud nightclub next door. I made my way downstairs and I asked if I could switch to a different room. They said yes and they gave me a new room, which was actually on the same side of the hotel. So I went back down to the front desk again and this time they gave me a room that was on the opposite side of the hotel. So if you stay here, be sure to ask for a room on the residential side and not on the bar side. Unless you're into loud music pumping through your window while you're trying to sleep. Also, the blackout shades didn't really work and the light from the nightclub was also coming through the window. That's why I thought it was time to get up. Once I was able to fall asleep, which was after 2 AM, I slept OK. This had more to do with my state of mind and less to do with the room or the bed. The bed was comfortable, but I had a lot on my mind. I got up for breakfast at 7 AM and I was downstairs at 7:15 AM. They had eggs and the thinnest bacon I've ever seen in my life, and when I and another guest went to get pancakes we found that there was no batter in the machine. Also there was nothing in the frozen yogurt machine. The container for the oatmeal was full of boiling water which was spitting at me while I was trying to get oatmeal. It turns out the breakfast matron was distracted and that was because her tires were slashed the night before. Apparently a lot of people on her street got hit as well. Not a good start to the day for her. I wished her a better tomorrow. I would stay here again, but honestly I hope I never have to go to Midland again. More about my state of mind. read more

Encountered a bed bug infestation. Moved to another room away from it and it had them also. Trash and dirty socks found under the mattress while checking for more bugs. Front desk was no help and given two choices, sleep with them or leave that is all we are going to do. There are several other Hilton properties in the area but no offers to find other accommodations. Corporate said nothing they could do because it is independently owned. read more

Only one hiccup, but other than that it is perfect. The hiccup, so you know up front, is there is a night club right next to the hotel, so it was loud as hell, with the club music, cars with their bass turned up, and cars revving their engines. Of course they close at 1-2 am, so we had to listen to that for hours. Other than that everything thing was perfect, large spacious rooms, the bed was perfect, very clean, no bedbugs, and the breakfast was great! I loved my stay, it's just the noise from next door. If I come back I Will stay there, except ask to be on the other side of the hotel. read more

My first stay at a Tru Hotel by Hilton. I was pleased with the hotel very nice and new. The rooms are large with wood floors. Great television to watch and a comfortable king size bed. They have a bathtub inside the bathroom. I prefer walk-in showers. The customer service was good at the front desk. The lobby has a pool table if you wanted to play pool. There are snacks to buy in lobby as will. The breakfast was not great or good. I was disappointed about the waffle machine being out of order and no bacon. The milk was warm no one was drinking the milk. I was not happy about the breakfast. Breakfast gets 2 stars. Plenty of parking and a outside grill aera. If you are into buying food to cook at a hotel. Not for me I will go out to eat. You can hear noise in the hallway but that seems to be normal from all hotels I stayed in. read more

I had a very upsetting experience at this hotel and would not recommend staying here if you value safety and professionalism. When I arrived, my room key did not work. I went up to the 4th floor twice and had to return to the front desk a third time before the receptionist said she would go check it herself. While she was away, another guest and her boyfriend began verbally harassing me in the lobby. This happened in front of my children, who were frightened of while the situation escalated. When the receptionist returned, I immediately told her I did not feel safe and asked to cancel the room. Instead of prioritizing safety, she told me she needed to take care of other guests first and said she had been "trying to accommodate" me -- even though I had only been waiting because the key card didn't work. The man denied what happened despite witnesses present. No action was taken to remove or address the disruptive guests. As I was leaving, he said "bye friend," and the receptionist responded the same way, which felt dismissive and unprofessional given the situation. I left with my children because I did not feel safe staying there. When I later called the hotel to address the issue, the staff member argued with me and hung up. This experience showed a lack of concern for guest safety, poor conflict handling, and extremely unprofessional customer service. I hope management takes situations like this more seriously in the future. read more

Horrifying experience!! My daughter had a room reservation for June 26. She was traveling cross country by herself. She even called to let the front dest know that she would be a late check - in and was assured she would be find Upon arriving at the hotel at 2:00 a.m. The front desk clerk informed my daughter that the hotel "system was down" and that they could not accomodate her. They literally turned away a single female / traveling alone on the road at 2:00 a.m.!! My daughter reached out to me distraught in tears, scared, and alone. I called the hotel and this is where it gets even worse! The attendent told me, that it was correct, they would not check her in because their computer system was down. I was told that, "this happens all the time, and yes, it is our GM's policy to turn people away.... despite having a room reservation and despite calling to confirm, and regardless if it was a female traveling alone late at night. The attendent actually went on further to tell me, that "if the reservations was so important to your daughter, then she should have made multiple reservations at multiple hotels in case this happens - - What?????? I have asked for and called the GM, Tommi, multiple times. Tommi is never there and never available, and does NOT return calls. I called corporate and was told someone would get back with me withing 48 hours. That was 8 days ago. Conclusion. It is this hotels policy to 1. Frequently have the computer system "go down" 2. To turn away guest when the system "goes down" 3. It is the guests responsability to make multiple hotel reservations at multiple locations when traveling in case this happens 4. The GM does not respond to, call back, or address issues 5. Corporate, by not addressing the behavior, condones the behavior Please think twice before trusting your travel plans with any Hilton hotel. read more

This one was a close call with disaster. I called to advise a super late check-in. We arrived around 2:30AM. Cassaundra at the front desk advised us the hotel had no water, zero, none. And, she couldn't find our reservation. I told her we had called earlier and then she found it, the person on the phone had checked us in, so hence we got no notification about the water. So there I am weary with a teen and a dog and no hotel at 2:30am. She had a hunch that some rooms on the 1st floor had water, she went and checked and sure enough they did so we did get to stay there. The room was fine except for no stopper in the sink and could not get the water hot in the sink. Cassaundra was exceptional though, she even lent my niece her charger block. She was THE BEST. The hotel is cute, I wish we had had time to play pool! read more

Excellent stay at yet another Tru hotel, this time in Midland! Considering that you are smack dab in the middle of oil country (tons of loud oilers frequent every hotel within the area), the property is surprisingly quiet in a way. The rooms here are just like any other Tru property- comfortable bed, with a rolling desk and area to hang clothing items (no closet here) with mini fridge & ironing board + iron. Bathroom area is primarily a stand up shower, with tubes of body wash, shampoo & conditioner. Breakfast is so-so with waffles, dry items and bagels, yet it'll do- not anything grand. This is a usual thing both pre-Covid and during. Special thanks to the ultra fabulous general manager Kristin Wright for the Midland hospitality during this stay. Will certainly return! read more

Sleep was near impossible. Between the music from the bar next door, the noise from the car engines revving, and the paper thin walls that allow you to hear way too much detail from the room next door, a peaceful night was not to be. Some noise cancelling insulation would have been a nice addition. Other than that, the rooms were clean. read more

It is a cute, newer hotel. We had high hopes based on reviews on booking.com. Highest rated budget hotel in the area. When we arrived, we were told the pool was open. When we went, it had a closed sign and was green. The flooring of the rooms were dirty with visible clips of dog fur. I asked for housekeeping to come but was told they were gone for the day and the room would be discounted. The next day at checkout I mentioned it to the front desk. They told me they weren't authorized to discount and it was a pet friendly hotel. Disappointed in the lack of service. read more

Arrived and nobody was at the front desk. Waited ten minutes. The attendant arrived and informed me I had not waited ten minutes. (I do not need the attendant to tell me what my experience has been!) I asked to speak with the manager who never arrived. Was advised she was cleaning a room. The front desk attendant then asked if I wanted her to check me in. Of course!!!! So unfortunate that Hilton can apparently only afford to staff a hotel with one manager and one front desk attendant. I would NEVER recommend this hotel. Also no soap in the bathroom in the room. I do not recommend this hotel. ZERO parking because of the loud bar next door. The hotel allows non hotel guests to park in the hotel parking lot leaving zero parking for those of us paying to stay here. I have family that recently moved here who I visit often and I will choose alternate accommodations next time because of this. read more

Not ideal for a long stay. Friendly staff and a decent hotel breakfast. Lobby space is nice. Only redeeming qualities of the stay. Small rooms with no microwave and housekeeping only came by once during my 10 day trip without being requested. Rooms are not remotely sound proof. I could, unfortunately, hear the guest next door using the bathroom, talking on the phone, snoring, and one night a dog barking down the hallway throughout the night. There's also a bar next door that you can hear the music and bar goers to until 2am. Doors are super weight and slam shut, which other guests are not always polite about, so doors slamming throughout the night jolted me awake often. Probably the worst 10 nights of sleep I've ever had. The lack of sound proofing alone is a no go for me to ever stay here or another Tru by Hilton again. read more

One of our favorite Tru locations! Every time we have stayed here it has been great! The staff is always nice. Their breakfast staff is wonderful, always checks in to make sure you have everything you need/want. Rooms have been very clean every stay, no issues. This location is off the beaten path, not right in town. The parking lot backs up to empty land and newer apartments next door. Plenty of parking. read more

This is a very nice hotel overall. Clean rooms , for the most part the staff was very friendly. The girl that checked us in was exceptional. However , she was replaced by a girl who was very preoccupied with her phone and co worker. The rooms were nice with a nice shower. However ; we got very little sleep due to the club next door blasting music until 2:00 am. Followed by drunks racing their engines leaving tie club. I understand that for the most part this is out of the hotels control other than filing complaints which should be done. I guess my biggest problem was when I spoke to the desk clerk her response was " yea , they can really get rocking' there. !" And finally, the free breakfast seems to be an important selling point , but the meal doesn't meet the hype. Pancakes , eggs , bacon , cereal and a small amount of bagels and fruit. If I'm going to be kept awake all night with loud music , I'd like a better breakfast. Overall I would stay here again . Just request a room opposite the club. read more

We had the nicest experience here. We called ahead to ask about the area to ensure we would be in a safe area with a well lit parking lot. Krista was able to give us peace of mind about the area and the lot. When we arrived (very late) we were greeted at the front desk and checked in swiftly. The girl at the desk accommodated our request to be on the first floor as well as close to our vehicle. Sorry I didn't catch her name but she great. Upon checking out, Tommie was so friendly and professional. She informed me of our option for complimentary breakfast which impressive. They had a grab box (fridgerated) filled with a bagel, a yogurt, two hard boiled eggs and a cream cheese. The fridge also was stocked with apple juice, orange juice, milk, and water. Of course, there was also a coffee and tea bar. There is a hands-free toaster for the bagels. The hotel is brand new, clean, and definitely minimalist in an efficient way. No clunky furniture in the room that you don't need. Soft beds and soft pillows. There is a pool table in the lobby, a bbq area outside and a pool. All would be really nice when COVID chills out a bit. Speaking of, the room has a seal ensuring it was disinfected and nobody entered before you. There are hand sanitizer and wipes stationed throughout. We have a few more nights on the road and I really could only hope to be this spoiled with a brand new, clean, accommodating hotel under $100! I almost glossed right over that, UNDER $100!! This is no janky random hotel under $100, it's HILTON! Thank you everyone at TRU in Midland for this experience! read more
