My house flooded and had to have an extended stay. They were very welcoming of myself and 2 cats. I had to schedule house keeping due to having cats, Karli was very thorough each time she cleaned. Trina, Kim, Devin and Kristin were always so welcoming and so fun to chat with. I would recomend this hotel to anyone. read more

Conveniently located, friendly staff. Clean rooms. Fully stocked kitchen. Air conditioner in the room was a little noisy. All our added requests were waiting for us in our room, extra towels, pillows etc. Still a new property so I hope they keep up the clean and friendly. Only supplies in the bathroom besides the linens were soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Get a room on the back of the hotel if you do not want to hear the early A.M garbage truck. read more

The beds are horrible! I love the Marriott chain and I usually stay at the Fairfield Inn, which is definitely 5stars. This location has the most uncomfortable mattresses I have ever slept on. It's like cardboard. No spring whatsoever! And the pillows and bedding are flat. Very disappointing... I expected more based on my other experiences. I travel so much for work and look forward to a comfy, soft, fluffy bed. If that's what you're looking for too, DO NOT stay here. read more

Walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants like Cattleman. Off the 5. Newer hotel. Nicest one we have stayed at in our road trip. We got the studio with two queens and a pull out. Bathroom is spacious with huge closet inside the bathroom. Pool is outside, small but ok. No hot tub. Pool is next to parking lot. Breakfast is good. Gym is small. They have a bbque grill in the back if you want to cook. Kitchen in room has a frig, micro, dishwasher , stove snd utensils etc... No small mirror in bathroom which is hard to put make up. Wonderful accommodations, thorough housekeeping, excellent breakfast buffet. Very quiet location, even with a sports bar close by. Stayed for a month with my boyfriend and our dog, in a king studio room on the fourth floor. (Had a great view from up there.) Best layout I've seen for a studio; optimizing multi-use moveable furniture. The many lighting fixtures were set up so you never got a straight shining bulb in your face. The lights along with peaceful decor made the place so much more relaxing and felt more like a home. The kitchen had nice upscale furnishings. The bathroom was a good size and well designed. Workout room was very simple, but had a huge mirror, large window, and televisions on the machines and a good size one on the wall. All staff was very friendly and professional (except one particular older white female housekeeper with a terrible disposition and intruding rude nature - bad enough to mention). On the other hand, there was an older lady that worked the breakfast buffet that had a smile and genuinely friendly greeting every morning she worked. She keep everything well stocked and clean, and seemed to improve guests moods, including mine. One negative was a man and woman, that seemed to work in the office behind the front desk, that choked guests regularly by smoking, very often, right outside the front sliding entrance doors. Would absolutely stay here again, especially on a high floor. read more

This was a nice place to stay. My husband and I were traveling for over 14 hrs and needed a quiet place to stay. We explained that to the desk. We were traveling with our dog. We paid the fee. Why the deduction of 1 star? We asked for a quiet room due to our travel. We were put next to the elevator on the first floor. Then to top it off, a family on the first floor decides to turn their two young children outside the room as they were running an screaming in the hallway well after bedtime. This went on for almost an hour. This was right around the corner from the main desk. So, after traveling for 14 hours, we get our sleep interrupted by the elevator every time it was used but we also were interrupted by screaming running children that were being chased by their loud obnoxious mother. Not cool. We paid over $200 to get a good nights sleep and ended up getting up early and leaving due to the noise. We do understand that some of that out of the control of the facility but it was a special request. Also, we travel with our dog all the time, but here is what baffles me...my dog comes in and lays down and you never hear another word (even in this high traffic area you put us in when we requested quiet). We paid. But you also allow us to be interrupted by children that are not well behaved and get to stay for free. Not cool! read more

This is a great spot to stay in Redding. The rooms were extremely clean, beds were comfortable, and the amenities were great. There is a small gym, a pool, laundry room, and free breakfast every morning. The breakfast was better than many hotels I've been to and the staff making the food were very friendly. Great staff (sincere thanks to Devan, who gave us one of the best and most helpful check-ins we've ever had at any hotel), rooms are large and well furnished (e.g. three phones and TVs for a 2-bedroom suite etc), breakfasts are better than what you'd expect for no extra charge, and we never ran into any noise or parking issues. Water pressure was adequate but just barely (shower head settings couldn't work properly due to lack of pressure). The included cookware in our room was old and scratched beyond usability. We encountered two other and more substantial problems during our stay, which pretty much destroyed any desire we had to return. First, our beds were rock hard (they might be ok for some back sleepers, but forget them for side sleeping, or if you're pregnant etc), and (as with, unfortunately, most Marriott properties we've stayed at recently), a truly absurd overuse of scented cleaning products. The common areas of this hotel smelled like a Febrezed hospital ward, and our room stunk so badly of Febreze and/or carpet shampoo that it caused us to have bloodshot eyes, and nose, throat and lung irritations. After checking in we waited a few days, hoping the stench would dissipate, and it finally did on our third day. But we were ready to either switch hotels or make use of their stocked ozone generator. Marriott, please do thousands of your guests (and employees, who're forced to breathe this polluted air every workday) a huge favor and limit your cleaners/carpet shampoos/etc to unscented and neutral-scented products. Also, please replace those God-awful polyester "comforters" on your beds with actual blankets. We wondered why our mouths and throats went bone-dry the moment we laid down to go to sleep, and why we were waking up every night sweating like pigs, until we removed the comforters which took care of both problems. read more

My only criticism was that the breakfast (although I did appreciate it being complementary) wasn't as complete as other Marriott's I've stayed at. After a terrible experience with my family at another hotel earlier in the evening, Expedia transferred us over to this Hotel. We literally felt like we went from hell to heaven! From the moment we walked in the door they treated us like royalty. The woman at the front desk was ever so accommodating and helped us with everything that we needed.The hotel was extremely clean, had every amenity we possibly could need and well worth every penny the room cost. We felt extremely safe and felt that our Penske truck in the parking lot with All of our belongings was safe also. The woman at the front desk made sure to put us in a room where we can see our truck out the window. Next time while driving through Redding, I will make sure to book with TownPlace Suite!! We arrived late last night on Dec 30. A very nice man checked us in and told us that free breakfast was available till ten am. I asked him again to clarify and was quite happy to have a later breakfast time. However when we all went down around 9:30 am to have a leisurely breakfast the morning staff was already closing down the place and told us it was closed! This was very disappointing since we selected this hotel specifically for the breakfast which had a good reputation. Our money was wasted. It is clean and has friendly staff. I stayed with my family and parents in two suit rooms. Good for a couple of days of stay - lot of stuff close by to roam and eat. We were there primarily for Lassen and Shasta and few thing around. breakfast is ok. For me : Clean Room , Clean linens , no noise on first floor rooms, Clean bathroom, good mini kitchenette with fridge and microwave. So far no complains so 5 stars read more

What a great place to stay! The staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and spacious and quiet. The sofa beds aren't very comfortable, but I don't know of any that are. I would recommend this place. I forgot to mention the breakfast- it was very good, with a lot of options (and having a full breakfast was the reason we chose this place over others)-- there was sausage, eggs, all sorts of breads (bagels, toast, English muffins), condiments (peanut butter, cream cheese, butter, jam, etc.), cheese, waffle machines, yogurts, juices, cereals, and of course coffee. And fruit...and and and. So many good things to eat! That was helpful with two young and hungry kids in the morning. read more

Our group of 30+ families stayed here over the weekend, and the experience couldn't have been better! The rooms were impeccably clean, the staff was friendly and communicative, and they went out of their way to accommodate our group. We held a couple of group events both nights we were there, and the staff was amazingly helpful and gracious. The full kitchens in every room were a treat, and very useful for our large group of families. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, and offered plenty of healthy, family-friendly options. Our 3 families stayed 2 nights at the Towneplace suites in Redding. The service was wonderful. We all came to Redding to say goodbye to a loved one who was dying. We were all so stressed out and the staff went out of their way with our accommodations and also the pricing of our rooms. The suites were very clean and comfortable. I was so grateful for all the help that both Kim and Carla provided our families. I think it's people like these two that really make or break a business. We will definitely be staying here the next time we come to Redding. I thank them both for all they do. Their kindness and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. read more

We arrived at TownePlace Suites Redding on a Thursday afternoon. The front desk woman was extremely friendly and seemed to really enjoy her work. The lobby was tidy and has a large wall map with magnets that indicate the location of food and fun places. There is also a high-tech, touch screen monitor that provides information for visitors. We made our way to the elevator with the smell of cookies baking somewhere nearby. The suite was clean. The refrigerator door cannot be opened while the suite door is open; but otherwise the small kitchen area was okay. The beds and linens were clean and comfortable. The HD TV had a great picture. The GetFit workout room was nicer than some other TownePlace properties. There are two treadmills, an elliptical, a set of hand-weights, a set of medicine balls, a wall mirror and a basket of disposable earphones. The included breakfast was the same as most. Great experience, staff was wonderful, from check in to calling for extra blankets and towels. My teen son, loved the fact he had his own bed, (pull out sleeper, so he didn't have to share a bed with anyone) No complaints from anyone! Rooms were perfect and spacious for our family of four! I could not believe what a great experience we had at this hotel. No foo-foo amenities, just roomy, clean, comfortable, and friendly service. i'm extremely fussy about clean and this was top notch. We were able to bring our 5 pound dog with no problem, and it was easy access to take him out to do his business. We got a room with two queens and they were very comfortable. The staff very accommodating, especially after we missed the free breakfast being out for a walk, so they brought out a few items for us to eat! My sister and I were staying for two nights in Redding a few weeks ago. While there, she had a medical emergency and ended up staying in the hospital for one night. The desk clerks were amazing. Not knowing how long she would be in the hospital I was hesitant to book an additional night and they told me not to worry, they would hold the room until 2:00pm for me. I checked with them at noon and again at 2:00, still uncertain if we were going to need a 3rd night. I had fully checked out when I discovered that I did indeed need to spend the 3rd night. Devan and Kim at the front desk had already figured that I would probably need the room and saved it for me. I was able to pick up my sister at the hospital and take her back to our same two bedroom suite. Upon arriving back at the hotel with my sister, they handed us a lovely basket with water, soup, a cookie, etc, all wrapped up with a bow and a note welcoming us back and hoped all was well with my sister. As a Marriott Platinum Elite member, I can only say, our room was wonderful, and the staff went "above and beyond". This is probably the best place I have stayed at with my family on a vacation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite - they have a few of these available. I had to call the hotel property directly to book these (the Marriot main reservation folks were not sure about 2 bedroom suites' availability). The staff at the lobby were super helpful and pleasant. One lady in particular was very informative about local lakes and trails and other attractions for the family to see. The kitchen is very well equipped. The rooms are clean, brightly lit, furniture is very trendy and functional, there were TV's in both bedrooms in addition to the living room. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with several choices, including make you own waffles! Cannot comment on the pool though there was one as none of us used it. Probably a touch pricey but the money we saved on eating out was easily worth it! I will definitely recommend this property to anyone who has a need to make your own food and at the same time stay in a really nice, well equipped, new property! read more
