On our vacation here, perfectly found this location by yelp a perfect deep tissue massage therapy. Jake targeted the spots correctly! He will come back this week for my husband before we fly out. I had Crystal as my deep tissue massage. She is so good with finding knots and focus on it. Expect the pains during deep tissue massage. Found my new go-to massage place. My wife and I have been coming here at least once a month since we've discovered it. The location is brand new. Everything is clean and and fresh smelling. And the ambiance is quiet and relaxing. And you get your own private room, unless you come with a significant other and want a couple's room. The massage itself is great. I live a very active lifestyle, but whenever I come here, ALL my knots are taken care of. Finally, the value of the place is unbelievable. It is worth every penny. My husband and I went today august 3rd but it's terrible massage. We spent $250. Two ladies didn't do justice . The other just massage the right side of my back and didn't the left side. When applying the hot stone it's like playing all over my body. We went to massage to get the better massage because my back hurts and so my husband. We don't go to massage just to spend money but to get a better treatment and right massage. Please do better massage next time. Do your job be a we pay right and don't be lazy. Pay for what you get. Massage was decent. Environment/culture/Etiquette is lacking. I have gotten massages elsewhere and this was an okay experience. I don't like all the information they ask for on the sheet when you arrive, or that you pay upfront. I'm not tipping for a service I haven't gotten. The masseuse didn't introduce themselves before the couples massage so that was awkward. The masseuse unintentionally kept touching me with her legs. Didn't make me uncomfortable, just not professional. The lights were kept pretty bright. I was TOLD I could only keep my underwear on, every other place says undress to your level of comfort. The room was cold. And I have mixed feelings about them using a hot cloth to take the lotion off as they went. Also, could hear the phone ringing several times while in session. The sheets aren't very soft either. All in all and alright experience. I paid $90 for a couples massage so wasn't expecting the world. I would go back if I wanted a cheap massage. read more

Phoebe really did an excellent job on my massage. I give her five stars for that. The reason for the overall four stars is because my appointment was at 6 o'clock, which I arrived 10 minutes early for, and the door was locked. It was very cold outside and I was bothered that I had to wait. As I was about to walk away, at 6:05, the door opened. During my massage, there was some interruption and Phoebe had to excuse herself for a moment. That was disappointing. But overall, the ambiance was nice and I had an outstanding hot stone massage. Update: Upon posting this review, attached are the screenshots of the rude response I received from Towngate Massage representative Lucy on yelp private message. I addressed the issue very kindly but she was so rude to me. My wife and I started coming here several times after reading positive reviews. When I booked the massage, we requested for Phoebe for both of us so we didn't get the couples massage. We particularly book the appointments with phoebe and cancel/reschedule when Phoebe is not available and that to I got to know only when I called into confirm our appointments with phoebe. This is unacceptable because it is unfair when somebody goes in expecting specific masseuse.We ended up booking back-to-back slots for Friday evening. When we went to the location, Phoebe was giving a back chair massage to a lady near the front lobby and said that she will be ready in 5 minutes. After we checked in, Phoebe said that there were other masseuses available, if one of us was okay to switch. I got Crystal and I was happy with my massage. However, my wife has only been getting massages from Phoebe and wanted Phoebe this time as well. While Phoebe was giving a back chair massage to another lady at the front lobby, Amanda showed my wife her room so that she can get changed. My wife thought Amanda was only showing her the room to get ready while Phoebe finishes the other massage. It turns out that Amanda came in and did the massage for my wife and didn't even inform my wife that she was the one massaging. My wife didn't realize that it was Amanda until 20 mins in to the massage and that too after my wife kept on asking for more pressure multiple times. My wife had a lot of knots in the back and was asking for more pressure, and that's when Amanda finally spoke up. When my wife heard her voice, she didn't recognize it as Phoebe's and asked if it was Phoebe massaging her. Amanda said no it wasn't Phoebe and that her name was Amanda. My wife was really upset because she wanted Phoebe and even told Amanda that she had asked for Phoebe, but Amanda didn't say anything. My wife didn't enjoy the massage and really wanted to get the knots out, but she wasn't getting the pressure she wanted like she normally gets with Phoebe. Phoebe wasn't there so I went and spoke the next day and I asked Amanda why didn't phoebe massaged my wife as discussed earlier to which Amanda replied "We're all experienced". I told Amanda that I wasn't questioning about her experience but the fact that my wife did not receive the masseuse she requested for, which was phoebe, and then Amanda replied that Phoebe was sick which contradicts to what phoebe said when we walked in on day of the massage. Later Phoebe walked in and Amanda and Phoebe discussed and Amanda simply said that it was miscommunication between themselves, so I asked them how is it our fault and expected an apology but all Amanda said was "We're all experienced". I was not happy with the way Amanda responded and I thought it was very rude. My wife and I will look for another massage location as we are not satisfied with Town gate massage's customer service. read more

I've finally found the best massage deal in Moreno Valley! Have been a bit weary since the last two massages I had at other places in town turned out quite a waste of $50. A week or so ago, tho, I spotted Towngate Massage's 'Grand Opening' banner while riding thru Moreno Valley Mall and decided to give the place a go and made an appointment for an hour of Swedish Massage for $45. The facility is quite nice and clean. Phoebe was my masseuse. She is a petite Asian gal with seriously strong hands, very pleasant manner and professional attitude. I pretty much had my $45 worth within 10 minute as she located and kneaded away all sorts of knots in my back and shoulders. You know you're being worked on by a good masseuse when she knows exactly when to throw all her weight into it and when to hold back and let the spasmodic muscle rest a bit before working on it some more. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of the hot rocks, but in the right hands they do fit into the 'no pain, no gain' model, I think. Anyhow, that was the best massage I've had in years, and it was cheaper than the many bad ones I have had elsewhere (of course, this demands some corrective tipping!). Will definitely come back. My husband and I just left this establishment. I work in an office and sit majority of the day. My husband spends a lot of time driving for work. Needless to say, we both needed a good deep tissue massage. Since we're somewhat new to the area, I came to Yelp. After reading all the raving reviews, I decided to book an appointment. I called but my calls were being sent straight to voicemail. I then sent an email as well as book an online appointment. In the comment section I put we wanted a deep tissue massage. About an 1 hr after submitting my appointment time, I received a call from Towngate Massage confirming my appointment in which I advised her that we wanted a deep tissue massage, she says no problem. Later that day around 5ish, I received another call confirming my appointment and again at the point I confirmed we wanted a deep tissue massage, and she says yes. We get there a few minutes before our appointment time and we're asked to circle the areas we want them to focus on. I didn't think to reiterate that we wanted deep tissue massage as I did during our phone conversations on 6/19. Guess who didn't get their deep tissue massage, us!! Highly disappointed!! It was more of a Swedish massage. We had some problem areas that we were hoping to get worked out, nope. We walked out feeling the same way we walked in. I was really hoping this was going to be our go to place, unfortunately, the search is still on. If your looking for a rub down, this is your place. This was one of the Best massages that I have ever had. I'm a firefighter and put my body through a lot. I often have to have a massage to help recover from the stress I put on my body so I can do it all over again. I get massages all the time. I usually still have pain afterwards. Marta is amazing, she does such a wonderful job in making sure that you get the best massage possible. I tend to get stress knots in my shoulders and Marta is so great at applying the right amount of pressure to remove those knots. The owner of the place is also very helpful, on my last trip she forgot to get my preference of hot stone or aromatherapy and made it up by offering both on my next trip and was very apologetic. read more

I found a coupon on Yelp for $5 off a one hour massage ($45 instead of $50). I bought it through Yelp, and made the appointment that same day. When I called in to make an appointment, the woman who answered didn't even ask for my name but assured I had an appointment. I head there after work, and when I first enter their office, I am greeted by a guy sitting on the only available futon watching How To massage videos. Another masseuse, who is dressed in khaki shorts and a tee shirt, helps me with signing in. Their sign in binder is stained college ruled paper in a binder. He shows me to my room to disrobe and get ready, I ask to use the restroom, which is dingy and dirty. I've been to skeezy tattoo places with better bathrooms. I go to the room, disrobe, and wait for the masseuse. Khaki shorts gave me the most awkward massage I have ever received. His crotch kept grazing my hand, for which I kept having to adjust for. Once or twice is a mistake, but it kept happening! And since I'm naked and alone in a room with him, I was way too timid to say anything. He spent more time on my ass than anything else, and it was only when we had 7 minutes left of our session that he started to work on the knots in my shoulders. Oh and to top it off, his kid is running up and down the hallway outside the room, yelling and making noises with his super loud toys. Edit: Lucy, the owner, reached out to me after I posted the review and asked about the session. She assured me the masseuse would be reprimanded and apologized profusely for what happened. Really great for the price. I normally go to a spa for massages in Redlands but they were booked up until December so I searched yelp and came across this place. The reviews were good and I was also given a gift card by my mom and towngate massage happen to accept this form of spa gift card so I booked my appointment online, super easy and convenient, and I came in 30 mins early and she took me early, even though it was just me inside the building and the massage therapist. It was a very good massage for the price. I purchased the deep tissue massage and she did a full body massage and even gave me little stretches for my arms, legs and neck. Very nice and peacefully. I decided to try this place out because of reviews I I've read and the pricing is reasonable. I came in for a full body massage. Prior to booking when I called in I had asked some questions about the hot stone massage but the receptionist wasn't able to answer my questions. She said that she didn't know how to explain it which I thought was very odd because she works there. When I arrived for my appointment I had asked her about their different oils because if you want aromatherapy oil for instance there's an extra fee so I was wanting to know why is that and what's the difference in the oils. She couldn't answer that question either so I just went with the basic one that use which was a citrus sent. So the receptionist walks me to the room instructs me to get undressed so I do so. A couple minutes later I hear a knock on the door and I see that it's her so she was the massage therapist. I thought that was a bit strange and wound up being a bit annoying because if she hurts on at the door she'd have to pause on my massage. Now this was my first time coming here so I don't know if she is the only massage therapist or if maybe everyone else had left for the day but I feel like that's not professional and there should only be one person working in the front while someone else is working in the back. You shouldn't be doing both. The massage wasn't like any massage I'd had begore ( meaning the way she massaged me, the techniques used) which I guess isn't necessarily a bad thing. I really liked the different stretches that she did with my body while massaging me. A lot of pressure( the could make someone feel very uncomfortable) was applied while doing the (and I know when getting a massage they usually start off with a lot of pressure but I felt like this was the most pressure I've ever felt) but I didn't mind it because of how sore my body was so I figured I really needed it, but there was one particular spot across my upper back that was in a lot of pain afterwards so I think too much pressure was applied there and it remained sore for 3 days after the massage. The rest of my body felt fine though so if I return I would just make sure that less pressure is applied to that area or that less pressure is just applied over my entire body. And I would also call first to make the appointment and see if someone would actually be covering the front while I'm being massaged so there aren't any interruptions! UPDATE: The second my review went up the owner messaged me on here trying to convince me to edit my review saying that people wouldn't read it all and claiming that she would like to address my concerns, but never did! But what she did do was suggest that I try out other places instead next time. So that just proves that the owners don't give a s*** about their customers or customer satisfaction! Same place, new location and new staff. This place used to be excellent. Now, it is probably the worst massage I've received. I was a walk-in and upon arrival there was no one at the front desk. After waiting for a little I was greeted by a massage therapist who didn't ask me 1 question about my aches or pains. All she wanted to know was if I wanted any add-ons, which were priced an extra $10 each. I was escorted to a warm room (it was already 100 degrees outside) and I disrobed. Before I could get under the sheets the masseuse knocked and walked in even after I said not ready. Naked (panties on), I jumped on the table and covered myself. The massage stared with an rub down over the sheet (2 min). She oiled my legs with a light rub (3 min). When I told her that she was not massaging she rubbed harder. Now this was not a massage this was a RUB DOWN. On my back she used her arm most of the time. When the phone rang, I got a 1 handed rub while she attended to the call. She spent over 30 min on my back. When I flipped over she oiled my feet then proceeded to my legs. This was about 5 mins. Another 5 min on shoulders and arms and hands. Then she rubbed my FACE!!!!! From my feet and body to my FACE! I was absolutely astounded. I wanted a 60 min full body massage and got a 50 min rub down. After sharing my concerns with her I was offered $10 off my costs. It's something new they are trying for now & it was a smooth transaction. Yay! Family owned business which are my favorite! Typical massage establishment with soothing music and colors. A cool cozy sofa at the entry and super friendly service. I had the 60 min. Full body deep tissue massage. The room it's self was very clean including the bed sheets, floor, & counters. Then the problems began....door bell rang she stopped to answer it...came back in and said a guy would finish, bell rang 2 times he went to answer and was gone for about 5 min. Bottom line, I would not recommend Towngate Massage. I called a few days in advance to schedule a 90 minute Swedish massage. I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out the paperwork. It smelled good, like aromatic oils, etc throughout the location. That's where the positives end. After the receptionist took my paperwork and payment ($80 for 90 minutes), she just walked away without saying a word. After a few minutes she came back up front and said "you are supposed to follow me". Um, ok I didn't know that. Then the "massage therapist" came in and started. This massage was 30 minutes of light pressure through a sheet and the remaining time was spent with jagged, asymmetrical movement on each side of my body. It seemed as if she didn't really know what to do. She would do completely different "techniques" on either side which completely defeats the purpose of the massage. Meanwhile, there were frequent outbursts of noise and conversation right outside the room. At one point, the therapist left the room to turn on the fan because she was hot. Another time, someone came in the room to have a short exchange with her. All of this made for a very non relaxing event. I'd rather pay more money for a professional experience. Arrived to get a couples massage we were offered aromatherapy, we wanted to use aromatherapy but they were out of lavender. We opted for a muscle rub instead. It seemed the only people working were doing the massages, my therapist left the room a couple times to tend the front desk. When the massage was all done we went to desk and they were out of water!!
