This place is amazing! The main massage therapist was previously a doctor in China so she knows so much about the body and anatomy, which is the key to how she relieves & eliminates pain through massage. I'm a recent 21-year USAF SMSgt Retiree and I am finally getting real pain relief, not just more pills and useless physical therapy like I received on Active Duty. So far I've had 5 1 hour massages for pinched nerves in my neck, lower back, and hip and the the massages are reducing the intensity and frequency of my pain. The massage techniques are quite honestly the best I've ever had. It is not just a massage, it is more like targeted pain relief for real medical problems such as muscle spasms, joint pain, pinched nerves, etc. Also, on several occasions 2 massesues work on the alignment and stretching on my back/spine, hips and joints almost like a chiropractor. Loved it all. Best part about all of these massages is because I am a disabled Veteran/Retiree, the VA is paying for these treatments in full. I found the rarest of rare ... a massage practice that made me more stressed and upset than when I walked in. A bit of background: I've been coming here for more than 3 years, including once with my wife. Every time I come in I ask for Mai. So imagine my surprise when I gave her my establishment card with stamps on it entitling me to $9 off a massage. She told me she thought I had stamped the card myself. She accused me of somehow finding her parlor's stamp at Walmart and forging the card, all to save $9. She told me the police would agree...but then let me come in anyway for a foot massage. If she treats a (previously) loyal customer like me with like this, imagine how she'll treat you? Frisk you to see if you stole a washcloth? Accuse you of kidnapping Elvis? She brushed off my complaints with, "well we're going for insurance massages now." I guarantee you if you file an insurance claim from here, you're going to wish you went to another massage practice. We looked for a great place to get a massage, this place was near by and had a couple good reviews so decided to give it a try. A total of 5 of us came in to get a foot massage. As soon as we walked it we were charged. The two guys did a great job but the lady charging was with my mother and kept getting up and walking to help the incoming customers. My mother was cut on her time, she only did a total of 17min when it was supposed to be 30min. It's very obvious this place is only after your money not caring for the customers. I have now been coming to this place for over a year, and I have brought my daughter and friends as well. It continues to improve, and my friends have now become customers. The personnel has changed several times, but the quality of the massage remains excellent. The owner continually trains the staff to her high standards. The only complaint now is that it is harder to get an appointment, since they've been discovered and have lots of customers anytime I come by. But the owner makes it clear each time you come in that your business and continued patronage is appreciated. I note that, after one year of being in business,this place finally recieved a bad review. Since every rule has an exception, that one exception, in my view, made it the rule that this place is excellent. The critic's complaint seemed to be that the technician didn't speak English very well. But the proprietor speaks fluent English, and is always there, so it seems that all the reviewer had to do, instead of writing a bad review, was simply tell the proprietor that something was not satisfactory, and it could have been corrected. read more

This place has its moments. I always come here for the $20 reflexology chair massage. The room for this massage is an open area with four large chairs that lie flat. You start off by putting your feet in a bucket of hot water as you lie down while they massage around your face and arms and whatnot, it's really relaxing. Then they work on your feet for a long time because apparently your feet are connected to your internal organs lol. After that they flip you over for a bit and then you go to the front to pay and they give you a Dixie cup of cold water :) Most of the workers don't speak English, which isn't a problem for the most part. Actually I prefer it and I'll tell you why. On my last visit I made an evening appointment for my boyfriend and myself. He got the lady and got to sit by the wall (dude I was pissed!!! lol). I had to wait for the guy to do my massage--I think he's a manager or something because he speaks English. He honestly does a sloppy job not massaging evenly on both sides and you can tell he just can't wait until the hour is over. I finished 3 minutes before my boyfriend and I had to wait a few minutes before he even came, so what's the deal with that? I lowered my tip. The time before last I went with a friend without an appointment in the afternoon. They only had one therapist avaialable, so they started on me first and then they called the guy in. Well apparently they think it's okay to get up multiple times during a massage to talk to customers in the front, because no one else speaks enough English I guess. My friend had never had a massage before, so he enjoyed it, but it just rubbed me the wrong way (pun not intended). My girl spoke no English and worked the whole time and did an amazing job. Her name is pronounced EYE-YO. I requested her during booking, but the phone number goes to someone that manages both locations and they either didn't hear me or didn't understand. I came here on a complete whim because my upper back was killing me from weightlifting. I asked them for a massage therapist with strong hands and described the discomfort in my upper back to them, and Johnny worked his magic. I was completely relieved afterward, and I want to say that I could feel it was already better before halfway through the massage. He kept asking me if the pressure was okay, which I liked, because some just power through without ever asking you, haha! Keep in mind that this is a reflexology place so you are out in the open on large massage recliners in a dimly lit room. I don't care who sees though - it was amazing, lol!! I came here on a Saturday afternoon with my friend Mike L. I have only been to one other massage spot in Riverside (I think it was called Happy Feet?), and don't remember whether I liked it or not. I just got an amazing 1 hour "neck, shoulder and back massage" for $40. I always get terrible knots in my shoulders and most masseuses don't take the time to work hard to get them out, but the woman I had work on me today spent a lot of attention on getting them out. I didn't even have to ask her to pay special attention to my tight shoulders, she was a true professional and knew how to find the places on my body on her own that needed the most attention. I went last month and had a male masseuse, i had the "combo" last time (half foot on the chair and half on the table), it was good for the $35 I spent, but the one I got today for $40 was better. Everyone there was just way too chatty during my massage. People actually came up to my therapists while she was working on me to talk. I did the second half in the private room, and could not relax at all because of the noise. The music... smooth jazz, not relaxing at all. One of the businesses next door was making more noise. (ok, not the fault of the massage place, but this location is not a good one for relaxation). When I went to check out, I realized I'd given the cashier the wrong debit card. By the time I mentioned it, she had already run it. "It was declined' she said loudly even though I'd just told her I handed her the wrong card. The second card did go through as I knew it would since I'd just been paid on it... and she had to state loudly, this one went through. Wow, really?! Although Happy Feet on Magnolia is further away from where I'm staying while I'm in town teaching at UCR, I will go the extra mile for better service and a quieter experience. read more

Good - The Therapist named Fanny, has great hands and will melt your knots away. This place a pretty good value. The foot massage for $20/hour will give you a full body massage, with an emphasis on working on your foot. This is great after shopping all day, or in my case after a round of golf (walking) Bad - The ambiance, everything in this place screams cheap. The menu, there are too many options, and people can get confused with a "massage" vs "foot massage". Another example is a 15 minute massage for $15, this could leave the client feeling ripped off because of the duration of the massage, compared to paying $20 for a full hour. (people get confused because they think the 1 hour foot massage is all on the foot)...why not offer one or two choices? lastly, hand washing....I can not testify if this is true, but I never hear the therapist wash their hand before working on me. Worst Massage EVER!!! He didn't ask me anything, trouble spots, pressure, anything! When I asked him "did they tell you what I came in for?" "Yeah yeah you relax" was all I got. I have (and still have) knots in my shoulders, part way in asked him "you were still gonna work on the knots right" he goes and gets the host/owner and she's asking me, "what did you say?" And the rest of the time they are both in the room talking in chinese and its like she's directing him on what to do. Not to mention, I can't tell you how many times he went over my spine. $20/hr foot and full body massage! There are a lot of these places, but often when I have gone to others I have felt the "masseur/masseuse" didn't really know much about healing by massage. It still feels good, so I go once in awhile to take the edge off tight muscles and sinus headaches, etc. Saturday night my friend and I were staying in Riverside, and we decided to go find a place to get a massage. Yelp brought up only two well reviewed places in the area, Happy Feet and Smiling Feet. Both turned us down, SF told us they only had time to give us a half hour massage for $23 even though that was the same price as the hour massage special, so we said no thanks. HF sent us away at 7:45 because they had a big party coming at 8 and told us to come back at 9. We called to confirm as we had gone to another part of town, and they said yes come at 9. We came a little before 9 and they told us sorry they were too busy, which was pretty upsetting as they took up a lot of our time and gas. So, we were headed back to the hotel just before 9, sad, annoyed and sore with no massages to be had. But then, we saw a lit up foot massage sign in a plaza just a minute away from our hotel. We pulled in and were greeted by a nice receptionist (who spoke English, which was an issue at HF) and we were welcomed as customers. It was smaller than the other places, appeared to only have two chairs/masseuses. All were female, and having always had men before, I preferred the lady who did my massage to them. The chairs were comfortable and laid back flat, they played soothing music, and it was the usual feet in a bucket of water chair massage thing. The massage was just better than any other I've had from similar places. The masseuse really knew her pressure points and it felt amazing! She worked really hard, even getting up on my back and massaging with her knees during the last portion. My friend had the same experience with her massage We both felt very relaxed after and slept well with a lot less pain and tension than usual. It was also nice that they offered us a cup of water both before and after the massage. I don't know why all their reviews on here are filtered, we almost didn't find them because of that! So glad we did. Thanks ladies for saving our night and making us feel good! So went here for a quick massage while I was in the area. They weren't very organized and there seemed to be no one there who spoke English. There was a translator on the phone. The atmosphere want the greatest because there was the language barrier and the person on the phone was talking to the people there and the phone was being handed back and forth. A man who spoke English came in later but unfortunately his phone kept on ringing throughout the massage. The saving grace was when we were moved into the other room for the back massage part. Came here on the spur of the moment/no appointment and received a $20 foot/body massage from a nice gentleman - didn't catch his name. Place is very clean and quiet (around noon on a Wed). I usually like very deep pressure, but because I've receive so many massages recently to work out issues in my neck and SI joint, I just let him do his thing. His pressure was lighter than I was used to, but oh, so relaxing! The most delightful surprise was getting the best foot massage I've ever had! He seemed surprised and grateful that I left a $10 tip. (Kind of a shabby neighborhood) We were greeted by a really nice woman who we later learned was the manager, who offered us water as we came in. She asked us our preference on masseuse and pressure to ensure we both got what we wanted. So I was in a lot of pain tonight and called this place at 8:25p and they still took me even though they closed at 9. The lady over the phone asked who I wanted I said I don't care but I like my massages hard, so she suggested Chung. When I got there they were waiting for me and were so sweet. Chung was fantastic. He worked extra hard on the specific pain area I had. I just moved from LA and they have these places on every corner...usually they are bigger and full of people. This place was smaller, quieter, and very clean. Also when he worked on my back after doing my feet I was told to get up..there was a special room w a real massage table...so much better than LA they just work on you in the chair w towels on your skin which hurts sometimes. Okay this place is really a 3 star place in terms of quality (I'm over 300 lbs so I'm annoying a massage snob) and it hurts at times, too soft at times, and not perfect enough times. So why Ami giving this place 5 stars? The price! $20 for a one hour full body massage so I opt for 2 hours and I'm satisfied with paying $50(tip included) for a two hour full body massage. Come here now if you're broke AF but can't get the nagging pain out of your body with 4 ibuprofens a day like I do. I recommend this place for people who work physically for a living and don't make much money. I work in a kitchen and only make $12.01/hr so this place is perfect for me! My son just had a 90 minute massage with a male therapist. My son is a swimmer and needed a massage due to tight and aching muscles. When my son was receiving his massage I heard a male answering and speaking on phone several times. At that time, I did not realize it was the person performing the massage on my son. My son tells me each time the man spoke on phone it interrupted the flow of the massage. My son has received several massages over the last 5 years and he tells me that even without the phone interruptions, this was the worst massage he's ever had. The man did not know what he was doing and made no effort to find his sore areas. The massage was essentially just someone moving their hands back and forth. The shrill womans voice who is apparently the owner with a rambunctious and noisy boy were terribly distracting. The massage therapist misunderstood that I wanted a 90 minute massage not an hour. The shrill woman went ballistic on him and it soundedlike she hit him when she went into the back area. She cameout and her body language and face were filled with rage! They over charged my card twice and don't take that they will return the second transaction and still haven't received anything back. I called and they told me i can use it for another massage.
