I wanted to do an update review on my dog Toni that I bought back in September of 2017. He is such an amazing dog! Toni alerts when my sugar is low, my heart spells, and picks up things I drop. Toni also won't let me move when he feels I will pass out from either the low sugar or heart spells. Toni also will get things for me that he can reach (shoes, remote, etc). Toni is always ready to work and learn new things. He just wants to please me and get lots of love and attention. I'm so blessed to have such a fur angel. Puppy had Giardia. Is on her second round of treatment. She eats her poop as puppy mill dogs do. I purchased the dog November 19, 2023. I have had her for one month and have spent just under $1000 on vet bills and medication. I have another vet appointment in two weeks for rabies shots. I have had four puppies in my life and never had any with this much stress and worry involved. If anyone is considering buying a dog from Myra's Toy puppies, I would insist on a Giardia test also before laying down $2250 for a sick dog. read more

This pup was my second pup from Myra. My first dog was fairly happy and healthy. I returned this week to purchase again. The poodle she sold me SEEMED healthy but on the ride home began to choke/cough. I called Myra to inquire if there were kennel cough going around. She SAID no! I brought her to My vet and he administered medication saying her white count was low. 4 days later the pup wasn't improving. When I called Myra said, bring her by let me see what I can do or get a replacement." "Replacement".....didn't sit with me. I then looked for reviews which 4 out of 6 were not good at all. I bought a pup for thirteen hundred from myra 2011.my beloved dog is now dead from pancreatic cancer. When I first got bridey he needed to be treated for kennel cough. My Fort myers Vet turned to me and asked "were did you get this dog". Since then at a yr and a half he had two acl s one surgically work on. Blatter stones twice , brain tremors and finally cancer at ten yrs. I loved him dearly. But his health was always bad and I spent thousands on his medical treatment. This is all documented in medical records. Myra has beautiful dog's well socialized . But it is a puppy mill in a pretty package. It has taken me 8 years to write this review because I honestly didn't want to write a negative review. But it is wayyyyyyy overdue. I bought a Bichon back in July 2009. My mom and I came in and she surprised me by purchasing me...Toby Wan Kenobi. He was so sweet although I noticed she used some type of powder around his eyes so we wouldn't notice the tear stains. Fast forward to 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016. Toby has now had luxating patellar surgery on both knees and torn ACL surgery on both knees. Total cost over $8,000 over the last few years. We are now doing acupuncture in hopes it is not a torn meniscus. I have been to hell and back and love Toby with all my heart. I urge you to STAY AWAY from Myra. Do not get a puppy from her!!! Bought a adorable toy poodle from Myra, in Feb 2020 he is precious. Myra was wonderful, she was warm and welcoming, her house is immaculate, the puppy's were in clean toy filled cages. She made sure I could contact her at anytime with any questions I might have. Took my pup to the vet, he is very healthy. He is an absolute joy to our family. We just purchased our second Bichon from Myra. Our first Bichon that we got from Myra, Gidget was with us 17 1/2 years. She was loving, trainable and beautiful! After we lost Gidget we went back to Myra. It is true she is all business, but it is her business. I was interested in the Havenese and she sat with us and had an honest conversation with us about them . They were adorable, she had plenty, but not for us. She brought out a 5 month old Bichon and we fell in love! The dog was very shy and that concerned us. Myra mentioned that she hadn't shown her much and she was shy. She would adjust. We got home and had our vet check her out and he said she was in perfect health and a beautiful Bichon! We need to socialize her more and she'd be great! Well, three weeks later, Maggie has been running and playing with our 5 grandchildren and getting to know our neighbors' dogs. Her housebreaking is going great. Three accidents in 3 weeks. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been calling for over a month to see if I can purchase a havanese puppy. I called recently to check in and she told me she sold the whole litter to a profesional breeder for show !!!! Absolutely ridiculous. Waisted my time and disappointed me. We purchased two Havanese from Myra. They are sweet as can be and adorable, however; I am CONVINCED that she does not actually breed these dogs herself. I believe that they are puppy mill dogs. When I picked them up from Myra, one of them had a horrible cough. I brought them to the vet immediately and was told that one had kennel cough and the other had a tick on him! In addition, both puppies had Giardia. My vet said that is common in dogs in shelters and puppy mills. My advice is to ask to see the parents. Myra's house is beautiful and clean, however; there was no sign of the parent dogs. Shame on me for not asking to see them before purchasing my puppies. read more

I just got another Teddy Bear . Great temperament so he gets the 5 stars! I did have him checked out with my Vet who did a stool check. He had round worms. Vet said that it's transmitted through the mothers milk and he medicated the puppy with a follow up in 2 weeks. Other than that he was fine.. As a courtesy, I contacted Myra and informed her to get the puppys' Mom checked out for round worms. Myra stated that she medicates all her dogs every 3 weeks. Myra provides a 48 hour policy return policy. Like the others who reviewed here, I wanted to meet the mother and was told she was at the groomers. Also, I asked to see where puppies where kept and I perceived a reluctance. Unfortunately, due to a phone call she received, time passed and I got caught up with puppy and forgot about it. I didn't remember until I had the dog in my car on our way home and by then I was far away. Initially, I was told that my puppy was a Shih Tzu and Bichon mix. . Upon review of the paperwork before signing , I noticed breed stated,Maltese and Shih Tzu . I brought it to her attention and she corrected the certificate to show Shih Tzu and Bichon and blamed her secretary for the error. read more

We purchased a Maltipoo from Myra last year (March 2018) a little male we named Frankie. He has been very healthy and has an incredibly large personality. We had him fixed last year and thankfully have had no problems with him. It is unfortunate to hear about those who have had problems with their dogs, but we have had no issues thus far. He gets his regular check ups from our vet, he's on a healthy diet and is incredibly active. If anything, he might be too smart for his own good. He weighs around 6 pounds but thinks he's a 160 pound Great Dane. read more

Don't get heartbroken like me. We had purchased a bischon many years ago from Myra and it was a good experience so we decided to go back to her when we decided on getting a Teddy Bear puppy(Mal-Shi). I have been calling almost every week since September about the litters. After many stories or excuses, I was told she had a new litter and to call her at such and such a time to reserve an appointment . I called when instructed. Guess what! All the puppies were spoken for:(. I could go on and on about our conversations. Finally she had another litter and I was able to make an appt! We purchased everything we needed for the new puppy. We needed to travel a couple hours so,we set out on the road the morning of our appt. Guess what again........ She called and said she forgot if I was coming for a Teddy Bear puppy and if so, they were all sold. We turned around and went home heartbroken. We bought a puppy from Myra. The dog got very sick a few days later. We brought the dog to our vet and he was diagnosed with Parvovirus. He was immediately rushed to 24 hour care. When I contacted Myra she said I should have brought the dog to her or her vet, which wasn't close by and doesn't have 24 hour care. After a week stay in emergency care, I contacted Myra again. She yelled at me and said that I should have brought her the dog (which meant the dog would have died.) She was extremely rude. Luckily, the puppy did survive, due to the care of the 24 hour hospital. Do NOT buy a dog from her. read more

I got my Bichon , "Oliver" from Myra last week. He is a pure bundle of joy. He is smart and very mellow and extremely affectionate and lovable. My vet was pleased with him and said he was a great choice. I did see some of Myra's personal dogs who were all friendly and beautifully groomed. They were were very happy and friendly. Her house looks like a Disneyland for dogs. I followed Myra's advice and instructions and my dog is fine. He had a diarrhea issue which is not uncommon for a puppy. in 1999, our family visited Myra and brought home our wonderful Casey, a Bichon that we absolutely adored and loved until his passing in 2013. Grief stricken, I contacted Myra within a week and visited her. She, fortunately, happened to have a 10 1/2 week old Bichon that, when she brought him out to me, I immediately fell in love with. I named him Cooper. He is lively, playful, and "the boss". I often think about that visit to Myra that afternoon and thank my lucky stars. He is delightful. On another important note, Myra's home is immaculate and the adult dogs are clean, happy and healthy. She runs a tight ship and is so organized. She is selling sick puppies. My puppy was checked by the vet less than 24 hours after bringing it home, she had kennel cough and pneumonia and a tick!. She would not make herself responsible unless I brought the puppy back to an animal hospital in Boca Raton! I spoke with another person who bought another puppy from her 6 months ago and the same thing happen to them, ticks, kennel cough and a hug vet bill. I bought my puppy Buttercup from Myra in 2008. She was a darling little Havanese and Myra came up as the only breeder around. She did come with AKC papers also and was not sick. However, when returning to get another Havanees puppy not only did the price increase by like ALOT, but after Blossom grew she clearly was not a Havanese but some sort of bichon mix. Now my first dog Buttercup it turns out has a genetic heart disease and has to be on medication the rest of her life. The only way to prevent this is taking the line out of the breeding pool. I really dont care how "clean" someones house is, you dont false advertise and say you're a breeder when clearly your not. Plus when I told my vet where I got my dogs they both rolled their eyes. I would not recommend a puppy from her. I think the people who got nice dogs got lucky. read more

After reading these reviews, I felt the need to write my comments. Let me start by saying my Havanese, Millie, that I purchased from Myra is a "winner"! She is now 15 months old and has a fabulous disposition and is adorable. After my husband and I got in the car with the puppy after being at Myra's, I just felt weird from the experience. Myra had a business-like presence about her, her home/office was very clean but something just didn't feel right to me. I was so excited about getting the puppy that I didn't ask the right questions. We brought the puppy to the vet and found she had two viruses so she had to be confined inside for the first few weeks. Again, I must repeat Millie is a terrific dog but I would not recommend Myra to anybody. Do your research thoroughly before going to a breeder!! read more

I have NEVER written a bad review about anyone , but Myra deserves one. I should have trusted my first instinct by her mannerism on the phone and hanging up on me to take another call. Nastiest person I have ever dealt with. She wasn't any nicer on the other 3 calls but we wanted a Bijon and she had one. She tells me to come pick it up on Sunday so we make reservations for a hotel, go online and order supplies for the puppy. Not 2 hours later, I call her back to ask how she would like me to pay her and she tells me the puppies are gone! Not sure how this woman is in business.. look at the other terrible reviews she has gotten. Stay clear. Next I will be contacting the BBB to let them know she should not have an A + rating. We just got our little puppy from Myra Friedman and are more than delighted with this healthy, happy, perfect little girl. She's called a "TeddyBear" and she is a designer mix. I have a story for anyone interested in reading a review of this business. I bought a puppy from Myra in 2008. A little havanese. Yes her home was very clean and the puppies were cute. I never met the mom. After the puppy grew up some she was NOT a havanese , but a maltese mix. Ok so I didnt get the breed I wanted but I loved my little dog already. I went back two years later for another havanese, thinking I already had one and wanted another, so I got another one. Was not offered Akc papers. Turns out it was a bichon mix. The puppy was never sick but her teeth are all over the place she has an under bite one leg is longer than the other and her tail is literally bent. Ok so two dogs later and still no havanese, the breed I wanted. Then at 10 years old my first puppy is diagnosed with heart failure. Now this is a genetic defect common in small dogs. However, a RESPONSIBLE breeder would never breed an animal if they tested for this and thousands of dollars later she died.. Ok so i go get my third puppy through a reputable Havanese breeder. She is akc registered her mom a champion and her father best in breed at Westminster for 4 years in a row. Myra saw my puppy at my groomers and told another person my dog was not a havanese. SO, if you are looking for this particular breed I could not recommend this business. She obviously doesn't know what havanese are. And I am very sceptical about where her puppies come from. If she is breeding this many different breeds where are all the parents. I never saw any adult dogs at her house. And I would not go back knowing she makes a living off selling puppies. That's just a puppy mill no matter how pretty or nice the house. read more

This business lacks integrity. Allow me to state facts from just today (12/15/2017): -We adopted a puppy two years ago from a different breeder for our young children. The puppy had rare health problems...it was traumatic to have to put the dog down after 8 weeks. Our kids were devastated. -After two years, we inquired about a two year old dog named Amber that was listed for sale from this breeder, Toy Puppies Inc. -Myra, the owner, shared information about the dog and that it was available. -My wife shared photos provided by Myra with our kids about the dog. -My wife and Myra agreed to the purchase price in early December. -Being four hours away, my wife told Myra that she would be in Ft. Lauderdale on December 13th to pick up the dog. Myra said she couldn't meet but that "she wouldn't sell the dog" while we rescheduled a time a few days later. -My wife and Myra agreed for us to drive 4 hours to meet on 12/16/2017 and pick up the dog. Our kids were excited! -On 12/15/17, the day before and less than 10 hours before our scheduled time, Myra tells my wife that "her sister was upset and picked up the dog. It is no longer available." We were dumbfounded. -When I spoke to Myra directly, as a father, she told me "I didn't SELL the dog, I GAVE it to my sister. Family comes first." Can you believe that? -My 12 year old son, in tears, called her just a few minutes later and I heard her tell him, "Sweetheart, you don't understand business. Family comes first." I was beyond incredulous. My son asked, "What about integrity?" Her reply: "You don't understand. I have to get off the phone now." What kind of person does this to a 12 year old and 8 year old? -These are facts that cannot be refuted. I WELCOME a response because it will require her to say that we "only saw pictures" and "your wife had it wrong" and finally, "honey, you never actually touched the dog so it really wasn't yours." We brought home a new puppy and it has been the best experience. We originally wanted a Bichon but when we saw the teddy bear puppies we changed our minds. Jessie was already puppy pad trained and was very laid back in temperment. He adjusted pretty quickly to our home and was well socialized. Myra's patience with our numerous questions and phone calls made this by far the best experience with a breeder we have ever had. At first I thought the price she asked was rather high, but this is a quality puppy that sailed through his first vet appointment and received a clean bill of health. The staff at the vet's office were so impressed with Jessie's coat and mellow personality. I found Myra to be very knowledgeable. We are planning to get a buddy for Jessie when he's a little older. No transparency. I was lead to believe that I was purchasing a dog BRED by Myra. I was lead to believe it had been vaccinated and vetted. I was led to believe he would be a certain size...(already exceeded the "max he will be" and still growing.... and not overweight ). I was lead to believe he was a certain breed. I was lead to believe he was healthy. Spent almost 1500 cash only and ..no receipt on a doggie that was already sick when bought!!! No documentation to prove her ownership of sire and dam so that I could track health history and vaccines while my puppy laid in the hospital VERY sick, fighting for his life. ASKED REPEATEDLY for vet's info and accountability for vaccines with records and no response to that. Only told she "vaccinated them herself". Poor doggie suffered the consequences. She "breeds for temperament" she told me although it is dubious she bred him. I have informed myself very well and thankfully, help is on the way. I have spoken to several people whose experience has been just like mine and THREE vets who know of this "breeder" and her business practices. One of them described her as a broker with a breeding license. hmmm. Justice WILL prevail. I do not recommend you buy from Toy Puppies Inc. I can only tell you MY experience: she cannot provide ANY proof that she bred, vaccinated or vetted the dog she sold us. DO your homework folks, be INFORMED BEFORE you purchase ANY pet. I bought my beautiful little Chubac aka Chuey, from Myra the end of August. The moment we walked into Myra' s home I was impressed. Her home was spotless and had no doggy odor. You can immediately see how she loves these little babies. Chuey is the most loving, sweet little thing I've ever seen. I take him EVERYWHERE I go ! Every where I go people stop and comment how beautiful and calm and sweet he is. His coat is sooo soft. He's sooo perfect around children too. Adults and children always ask if they can pet him and comment how perfect he is. I've been asked numerous times if I would sell him. NO WAY !! Chuey is my little baby dog ! I don't care if someone offered a million bucks for him, I wouldn't take it ! He's a shihpoo. Half shih tzu and half tiny toy poodle. He's sooo adorable.
