Really stand up guys, who are always extremely helpful. They are honest, and the service is great, and they are always quick. Both times I have gone I have been very pleased with the service. The kind lady at the front is really nice too! Thanks Toyo tech

    Old, but dry Spark Plug

CAUTION: As a college student that just moved to Riverside, I came here on 10/20, Monday to get my spark plugs replaced for my 2011 Toyota Prius. I used an OBD Scanner and it said there was a misfire on Cylinder 4. I had James (Jim) confirm and diagnose the problem. He said it was the coils that need to be replaced. The fix was about 900 dollars. I spoke with my father who lives far away and agreed that it was probably the coils. I was told it would be ready the next day in the morning. The next day on Tuesday, 10/21, I was hoping to get the car back in the morning. Called the place, I heard from the receptionist they needed more time. At around 3:45pm, I get a call from Jim that the head gasket and the coolant was leaked. The cost was gonna be around 4750 dollars. I let my father know to contact the place the next day. On Wednesday, 10/22, my father and I decided to check it for ourselves and I picked the car up. About 2 weeks later (November), we had the spark plugs replaced for 100 dollars because they were old, not wet. The head gasket was completely fine, dry and had no coolant. If the head gasket was bad, either the piston cylinders or the spark plugs would have been wet. TLDR: I would not trust the place. If it was not for our judgement and my father's expert knowledge on cars, we would have lost 5k just to replace the spark plugs which are an easy fix. They misdiagnosed the issues with the Prius and said the head gasket was leaked which caused the jerking. Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere else. They will just charge you extra for no reason. Below are the OBD Scanner codes, dry spark plug (Cylinder 4) and the 4750 dollars invoice.

This place is the best, Ive been coming for multiple years at the recommendation of my friend, and have also recommended them to multiple people, great prices and they have never overcharged me even once, they always check everything out for me free of charge and tell me its all good. Some people will take advantage of young women and overcharge them thinking they don't know anything about cars but these guys have never done that even once. Plus they have the best shop cat ever!

Invoice for head gasket and fuel injectors

BEWARE BEWARE Please do not bring your car here at all. A few weeks ago my son just moved to Riverside for school and I am 8 hours away from him. His 2011 Prius started rough idling and he checked with an OBD scanner and the codes were misfiring. So I told him to take it here and see how much it would cost to replace the spark plugs. After the owner diagnosed his car, he told my son that the fuel injectors are bad. So the quote was $600 for all 4 injectors. I told my son, I could live with that quote. The next day, the owner called me and told me that the car was overheated and it needed a head gasket. He told me that it"s $5,000 and I told him the car isn't worth that much. I told him its just the plugs needed to be replaced. I told my son to drive it back to his place and I will have it transported back to Sacramento. After I got it back, I replaced his car with 4 new plugs and ignition coils about $100. I reset the check engine light and take it for half an hour drive. It ran fine without any issues. A few days later I called the owner up and told him that it wasn't the head gasket. He started cussing at me.

Took our Toyota Prius in because the engine was making a horrible thumping sound. They couldn't find anything wrong so no charge. Awsome!

The only place I'll take my two Toyotas. Way better than going to the dealer for anything regarding my vehicles.

It burns oil and I have to top it off sometimes. I was pressed for time so i put some oil in too quick. When i checked the dip stick I realized I fu**ed up. O'Reily down the street didn't have the wrench I needed to and the dude at the counter was straight ass. They didn't have the tool i needed, told me I couldnt borrow the wrench and said they don't rent tools out. Brodie working there didn't act right. Fu*k that place. Figured I'd just pay whatever at a shop so I didnt fry the engine. I went down the street thinking id be cooked and get screwed. The manager was chill, didn't act like i was a dumba**. They handled business quick. When they were done, I asked how much i owed. They wouldn't take anything and hooked it up. This shop came in clutch and bailed me out of a situation I put myself in without making me feel stupid and refused to let me pay. They treated me with respect and kindess. I want to say thanks for helping me out when I was down. People have negative sh*t to say about my neighborhood but I was treated right despite being a stranger and them not knowing where I was from. Def coming back here for business next time I need something done. Y'all are real ones.

Attention So-Cal Enthusiasts:…read more Stay away from Tony at SoCalZ. Go to Seb from Specialty Z instead. Wish I would of done this from the get go for my build and tune. Seb took care of the tune anyways and he has been phenomenal to say the least. Spent $6,500+ for a 3-Week Nightmare and Poor Workmanship I spent over $6,500 at this shop for a Stage 1 build and custom tune, and the entire experience was plagued by a complete lack of accountability, poor customer service, and severe mechanical oversight. I strongly regret not driving two hours away to Specialty Z instead. The Logistics & Parts Delay: The shop had my vehicle for approximately three weeks. A major portion of this delay was due to the shop ordering parts from a store just two hours away, but having them shipped out to Arizona first and then shipped back to Southern California just so the shop owner could save a few bucks on his end--all while my car sat completely idle. The actual tuning process alone took an entire week. Electrical Failures & Component Damage: The aftermarket flex-fuel kit was wired incorrectly twice. The shop wired the Bluetooth module's power directly to the battery rather than a switched ignition fuse in the IPDM. This improper wiring created a constant parasitic draw that completely killed my original battery. After installing a brand-new AGM battery, the improper wiring completely drained that one within 48 hours as well, forcing me to buy a $100 emergency trickle charger just to get the vehicle running. Complete Lack of Accountability: When I brought the car back to have the parasitic draw fixed, the owner refused to take responsibility. He used the excuse that he "followed the basic instructions," completely ignoring the reality of the physical battery drain. To make matters worse, he actually charged me an additional $20 for the fuse tap required to fix his own shop's wiring mistake, and he flatly refused to compensate me for the charger I was forced to buy because of his error. If you are spending thousands of dollars on a performance platform, you expect expertise, precision, and a shop that stands behind its work. Instead, I received amateur electrical work, constant excuses, and zero customer service. Take your business elsewhere. (Highly recommend Specialty Z, my tune and maps are amazing on my car and the customer service is night and day).
