Silly Goose Kids is smart for a couple of reasons: 1) Its run by people who have been in the kids retail business (and they're mothers) for years so they get what consumers want and they know their products well. 2) They have a wide range of toys for a wide range of budgets and also carry feeding accessories and clothing. 3) They are thisclose to Cake Town Cafe (http://tinyurl.com/3cl3raj) which means I, and many other moms will be traveling there many times dosed with scone-y goodness and bleary eyed from lattes willing to buy anything that will make our screaming infants STFU for 15 minutes while we enjoy our sugar high. And the best part: I didn't feel pressured to buy anything despite letting my whiny sleep-deprived 10 month old destroy the entire train set table and back a ride-on car right into a display. You know, cause destroying a toy store is a nice break from chewing up all the books in the library. Parenting is all about providing variety!

The store has a pretty wide variety of toys for all ages and they are laid out into neat little corners or walls for different categories. The staff are really knowledgable and helpful. I was looking for a particular kid's book for 10 minutes on my own through the shelves and should have just approached them earlier. They were able to eventually find it in the backroom after checking their inventory system. The staff also are good at offering suggestions if you are stuck with choosing a gift. I was stuck so they were able to help give me some ideas that helps me make a decision. This location has curb-sidebside pick-up and they mentioned that they will still have regular stock coming in as well.

I hosted a tie-dye themed birthday party for my daughter (who just turned 8) at the Michael's In…read more Mississauga (Vega Blvd) and our party coordinator was Nicole. We often attend their Sunday crafting workshops and Nicole is often the coordinator (we sure here as she is kind, patient with kids, and has such an incredibly warm energy!!). Nicole, along with the entire staff at Michae's were gracious and such an integral part of why the party turned out to be such an amazing success! As soon as we arrived, they provided colouring sheets to help keep the early arrivers busy as we did some last minute set up (which Nicole also helped us with). What an incredible price point too ($149), which includes plates, napkins and cutlery. Every child and parent enjoyed the tie-dye theme and bracelet making. They even provided little take home instructions to make the wash process easy!! I would definitely book a future party at this location again and I hope to get Nocole again!! Please never stop hosting these parties Michaels! And please consider adding new themes! It's a Mother's dream to have such a brilliant one-stop shopping experience where kids can have a blast, and parents can shop if they choose all at the same time!! I went on the Black Friday sale and selected a board game to be delivered to a store. As it was a gift, I didn't want the recipient to accidentally open it when it arrived at my house. After hearing nothing on the supposed day of delivery, I called the store. They said it was in transit and would arrive in a couple days. I can only guess this was wishful thinking. 8 days later, I called online customer service. I waited on hold for 40 minutes. This is where the total gong-show begins: It was never even shipped. Supposedly, it's "in stock" online, but they just can't ship it. "Why?" you may ask. Well I suppose that's just one of the many mysteries of life. The cynic in me thinks they boosted their Black Friday sale with things they don't actually have. Which is illegal, by the way. It's against the Consumer Protection Act to have false sales. I tried navigating their website's "Chat With Us" feature to get some help. It's automated and entirely broken. It asks for your order number and your postal code and then just...quits. At least I know Indigo's AI will never contribute to the Skynet future from the Terminator movies. This thing is dumber than rope. It does literally nothing but waste your time. Which I'm realizing is probably the point. As to my experience on the phone with a real human after all that holding time: The CSR online assured me the issue would escalated. She said I would get an email in 2 hours confirming this was being dealt with. 48 hours after that, I still hadn't been contacted. I called back. I waited on hold for an hour and then they closed and I was disconnected. So, I woke up early and called them as soon as they opened on their time. 6 am my time. 20 min of hold. Then I was told that the issue was escalated, but that escalating it means I'll be contacted in 7 to 10 business days!!! Will they ship the thing they supposedly have? God only knows. Will it go out of stock while I wait? Probably. They are still selling it on their online store despite being unable to actually send it to one of their stores. This isn't a new product that is hard to get. It's been around for years. Will I get it before Christmas? Lol. Unlikely. I think what IS likely is that they'll try and refund me and they won't honour their sale. Just a giant waste of my time and energy. It's back up to $70 and I supposedly got 30% off. I can't stress enough that this isn't the fault of the people at this store. This is on Indigo's terrible online portal, pathetic customer service, and seemingly fraudulent business practices.

One of the larger Indigo stores near where I live. I usually browse around while at Sherway…read moreGardens. It is pretty easy to get to from both floors and the exterior entrance/exit. This location has a similar layout to the one at Square One but a lot larger bigger and floors are reversed of each other. There are a lot of books, kids stuff, apparel and stationery, etc. Shelves look well stocked. Also, these nook/smaller areas give off some quieter moments like in a library.

They also persistently pester you for donations at the cashier, making you feel uncomfortable if you say no. I'm not sure if the cashiers are given targets as to how many customers they need to get to make donations, but it feels like they do. When stuff is in stock they often have a great variety of items, including many hard to find sets or ones exclusive to Toys R Us, which at least makes it worthwhile to try here.

I purchased a childs rear-view safety mirror, walk to my car, was gone all of 30 seconds and came back into return it as it's view radius was very shallow. I told the woman I had to return it and she (seemed to, could have been her personality though) snapped at me, saying no returns, only store credit or exchanges. She continued to point out that it's is on the receipt (which is pointless after you've bought the item) and reached over the counter and pointed to some area at the bottom of the counter where a sign was. When I asked her why have this policy she said "It's always been that way" ..not helpful. Tip to the store: if you have this abnormal policy, you should verbally warn your customers before their purchase, not after. It gives the impression, you are desperate to sell your stuff and can't afford to give our money back even if we are not happy with your item. Bad customer service. Tip to buyers: Don't buy if you are unsure.
