I used to go to the Mississauga Marketplace Toys "R" Us location until the USA parent filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2017, closing all U.S. locations in 2018. In 2018, the Canadian subsidiary and related trademarks was sold off to Fairfax Financial and this location closed. Yesterday, I was doing some business in the Victoria Terrace Shopping Centre and saw a Toys R Us store associate bringing out an order to someone's parked vehicle. With the current provincial lockdown in effect, you need to order online at toysrus.ca and then follow the pickup instructions. Purchased a baby swing online from this location. Was sent a used/broken swing. Open box/ returned items should be discounted or at least told to a customer whos paying full price for a expected new item. I asked for a refund and they told me to just drop it off at a Canada post. a month after, I still did not receive a refund. This Toys R Us, like others in the city is always a huge mess with toys everywhere and screaming kids in every aisle. Pretty normal for a Toy store, but you would expect a bit more from a large chain like TRU. Out of all the TRU stores in the GTA, this one probably has the most friendly customer service. The staff at the customer service area are probably some of the nicest I've come across at TRU and they are always there to lend a helping hand. The stock in the store is poor and they rarely re-stock the shelves quickly. Usually if an item is out of stock, you will never see it again or it will take weeks or even months to get it back. When they have sales however, they do get a lot more stock in of the item and usually have all sale items in hand. I'll continue going to this TRU as it is probably the largest near the downtown area and has the most friendly customers. They should have more staff in the store however and cleaning the aisles more often than they do. read more

An employee yelled at my son for squeezing a ball in the store and playing with it. He came and told me he was "petrified" over her yelling at him , I asked her why? and she proceeded to tell me "he's lieing and you should teach him not to lie!" We left so I could calm down to speak with management but not even 10 mins later the doors were locked. It was a horrible experience for us. It's a toy store and for them to expect for a child not to touch products during co vid is ridiculous. They should have a system in place because of that alone or not remain open. read more

We went to Babies R Us to browse cribs, playpens, car seats. Prices were rather steep, but it was still fun to browse. We later bought a car seat and picked it up at the Pickering location of Toys R Us. We look forward to going back when our son is older. read more

I'm with Nicole C here. I visited the Babies R Us at this location on the weekend. What a nightmare. It's super difficult to find items that are on people's baby registries. Once you find them, and line up at the cashier, the cashier is unable to remove the items from the registry, you need to stand in the customer service line to get that done. The staff are helpful once you get a hold of one, but the clientele who frequent this location seem to be lacking in manners. I waited for various staff for over an hour. I guess I wasn't aggressive enough to get help. read more

Worst customer service here. There are only 2 cashiers here on a busy weekend day. Wait in line usually takes at least 15 minutes. They only recently installed a self-service printer for baby registries, but if the printer isn't working or is out of paper, you have to wait in the cashier line! Or worse, look for an customer service rep in the store which is far and few between. My one positive experience at this location was when I registered for my own baby registry and the rep explained the process fairly well. But if you have specific questions about the products in the store... you won't find the answer by asking the employees. Let's just say, product training does not seem like a priority for babies r us employees (at least not at this location). read more

I waited 25 minutes because the cashier insisted that she couldn't do an exchange. THEN WHY THE HELL ARE YOU A CASHIER!? Seriously - its called training your employees, Toys R Us may want to look into that. read more

Yesterday I went to Toys R Us to buy bicycles for my two kids. Before this I'd gone to a couple of stores and briefly looked at bicycles and prices and decided that Toys R Us had the best selection and reasonable prices. This time I brought my kids along so they could choose a bike that they like and ensure that it was the correct size. The salesman that I talked to, after i went and found one, because there was nobody to talk to when I got there, was friendly and helpful. We chose two bikes - one for my 5 year old and one for my 9 year old. He said the one for the five year old would be ready to take home after a quick safety check but that the other one would be assembled and ready the next day. We chose two helmets and after recieving my 5 year olds safety checked bike, for the kids and proceeded to check out. The line up was incredibly slow - it took 10 minutes to process three customers. Finally our turn and the woman insisted on calling the back to ensure the bike and been safety checked and that the tag I had for the assembly bike was in stock. I told her it was as the salesman had already checked. Nope she had to check again and that took another 5-7 minutes of waiting. We were told to come back at 4pm - in writing - the next day. Today being the next day we showed up at 4:30. I was told to wait 5 minutes. Okay I waited 15 minutes before asking again and again and again. Each time I was asked i was told it would only be two more minutes. The manager in charge was unable to do anything other than tell me that it would be a few more minutes. Why keep telling me that it will be a few more minutes? Why not be honest and say that they bike wasn't ready and that you had screwed up? Nope, keep waiting. Also at this time, he hands me a helmet that apparnently is included with the bicycle that we bought. Only thing is we were not told about this at the time we purchased the bike and a different helmet. When I asked for a refund, I was told no. Thank you very much. Long story short, terrible service, lies, and more terrible service. Will not be shopping at Toys R Us ever again. Watch out their return policy. This is the last store I will go shopping on the earth. Afer I talked with their manager and he refused to return my newly bought unsuitable car seat, I fell very bad about them. Basically you cannot try the car seat until you bought it. But if you try it you cannot return it. I never anticipated this because I never encountered this in Target. From then on I only shop at Target or Walmart. You can continue to shop in this store if you are 100% sure you don't need to return, or if you are confident that you are lucky or they just like you, or something I don't know. read more

I went in with my wife and 1 y.o. Daughter yesterday being Sunday to grab a few things. We realized a play cottage was on sale for about an$100 savings for about $154. The price now is 259.99. The stores machines were down so they wouldn't take debit or credit. There is a bank in plaza but it was not my bank and would have cost me a very small surcharge. We wanted to pay by credit so we can earn the aeroplane miles on the sale. So we asked if we could put the item on hold and get it the next day. A "manager" at that time put it on hold for us cause the machines were down. He even put a hold tag on the item. I went to pick it up today less than 24 later and they charged me full price for the product. The manager and the cashier kept telling me that hey wouldn't honour the price cause there was no note to honour the sale price. I'm assuming the manager thought I was lying. Another cashier even remembered my family from Sunday. Still the manager did nothing, telling me it was tough luck. Was this may fault? I was treated like a liar. Not cool! I called customer service Ana logged a complaint. I hope to never shop their again. I'll take my business to another store . read more

This is one of the worst retail locations I have ever been to. Before we knew better we registered there when we had our little one. Returns and exchanges are a nightmare at this place. It seems there is only one person (if that) on staff at a given time that can do a return or exchange. If you want to buy something, it's almost NEVER on the shelf. You have to wait for someone to get it. Then, usually after waiting a while, they'll tell you they don't have it. Last time we went there (and this was the LAST time) we preordered something on line and went to pick it up. When we got there every one on staff was a teenager who couldn't care less about our order. We were told the order hasn't been filled yet. The funny thing was, the thing I had ordered was ON THE SHELF. So I went and grabbed it. Due to the fact that I had prepaid, I had to wait 25 minutes to purchase this item. Not going back. read more

Bare shelves, poor management. If you value your time, go anywhere else but here. I waited an hour in line at this store to exchange a toy. They had 6 cash registers open for people to purchase items but only ONE cash register ( the second was broken) open to take exchanges and returns. So while our long line-up waited endlessly we had the pleasure of watching staff chat, talk on their cell phones or otherwise do nothing with no customers. while one clerk tried to deal with our line of 15 people. Then, once you finally get to the front of the line, you must go to another line to purchase the toy you want to exchange. It's hard to believe that a big company such as Toys R Us can't figure out how to do exchanges at one more than one cash register. At one point, I asked the manager to open another cash register and he just rolled his eyes.
