The only reason i dont give 5 stars is simply because a few good books just dont make it to the shelves. And if they do only 4-5 books which are gone by the time i get out of work. Worst toy store ever! Purchased an expensive toy for my 6 year old for Christmas. Toy came and part of it didn't work. I emailed customer service who then instructed me to call customer service. I called customer service and was told that a partial refund would likely be issued but that the supervisor needed to be consulted. I received a call back several hours later and was old that I would need to call the manufacturer and then call them back. I was then placed on hold and hung up on. A lot of comic book shops are kinda nasty, but this one's great. It's pretty clean, and it's easy to find what you're looking for. There's usually some kind of magic-card Yugio game going on in the back, but it doesn't interfere with the shopping. Prices can be kinda high on toys, but that's the way collecting is. To offset that, there's an area full of cheap old single-issue comics. Great for filling out a collection! The only thing that bugged me was having some of the bookshelves right next to the front windows. Won't the books get sun-faded that way? read more

I ordered a LEGO kit for my daughter for Christmas. When it came, the packaged was old, faded and damaged. Also, I found the cost to be way out of line for the size of the kit. I navigated their customer support process. After a couple of tries, I was sent a return label. I sent the item back. It has now been more than 2 weeks since it shipped back via UPS. I've been shopping at ToyWiz since it was called "Wizard World" and was located in the shopping center down a few blocks down. This has always been, and will probably always be the best card shop in Rockland County! Everything is super organized, easy to find, and the staff is SUPER friendly, helpful, and inclusive. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because since their move to their current location, their selection of Yugioh singles that they keep in store has gone down dramatically. I know I could order them, but the nostalgic idea of going into a card shop and picking up my sought after cards is something that I wish I could still do here. read more

I called back Monday morning to cancel and they said they couldn't do it call back. Called back later that afternoon and was told "it's too late to cancel the item was shipped out" ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I called 3 times in 24 hours and you couldn't cancel my order? An absolutely unbelievably awesome store. I've never seen another gaming/comic book store with more space. Being a well traveled gamer, I'm pretty used to playing in the middle of basements, crammed shoulder to shoulder while playing in a tiny area packed with people. This place however.. it's literally the biggest gaming store I've ever seen! There's enough space to seat 400 people! When I was there, there was a large Magic tournament (60+ people), a Yugioh tournament (40+ people) and a Warhammer tournament (20 people) all going on at the same time and there was still more space to be had. I've never experienced that outside of the big gaming conventions. I think I've gushed about the play area enough (did I mention it's big?) lets move on to the store itself. Their Magic: the Gathering selection for sealed packs is the best in the world.. This is not hyperbole.. they literally have every sealed pack that Magic has ever put out besides Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited. Legends packs- check, Arabian Nights- check. Amazing! Their single selection is amazing too (Black Lotus, all the Moxes, all the current rares too! They also had a huge selection of Cardfight Vanguard, Yugioh, and Pokemon. While I'm not into comics or miniature gaming they had an extremely large selection of that also. Not to mention all the toys. I could go on and on. Do yourself a favor and visit the absolute best gaming/comic book store that I've ever seen. read more

I preordered a tcg set that was coming out in waves. I preordered from the first wave. Wave 1 release date came and went and I did not receive a shipping notification. Reddit users who also preorder wave one from toywiz had posted that their orders had shipped so I reached out to toy wiz and they told me I ordered wave 2. After proving to them I ordered from wave 1 with my confirmation email they then lied to me and told me none of the product arrived for wave 1 from their distributer and that they expected it in December or January (wave 2 release date). I canceled my preorder and will never be ordering from them again. They also doubled the price of the tcg set when they noticed how fast it was selling. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I made a quick stop here to look for a Pokemon deck box for my son. They had them at a reasonable price. When I walked in the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Nobody seemed put off and took the time to look under the counter for the Pokemon Flashfires deck box I was looking for even though I was not ready do buy it at the time. They also offered to look at my old collection of MTG cards I no longer use. I will be bringing back select cards to see what I could get for them. Overall a nice experience. read more

To a point where I now order almost ask my mtg cards and comics online because I for want to talk to their staff. Other than that sine things are overpriced. New to the area and was looking for a place to play games, walked in and say hi to a guy at the front desk and was ignored. Heard commotion in the back so I went and saw lots of people playing cards, I asked one of them who was in charge and he politely said they guy at the desk is the person to talk to. I walked back to the front and said hey again and before I could say anything else he spattered out, " I don't know why you keep trying to talk to me I don't work here!" This is your comic book destination! I haven't been a frequent comic reader until last year but I can say that this is my favorite spot in Rockland thus far. The staff, mainly Carl, are knowledgeable and very friendly. Every time I go in I feel comfortable and confident that my nerdy needs will be met. If I ever have a question, which I do sometimes, Carl knows the answer! Can't recommend this place enough on that aspect. Their prices however can be a little crazy for certain collectible figures. If you want something specifically check with Carl or another associate first. Also you could always pre-order things to get the retail price to avoid the "collector price." read more

Terrible customer service. Misleading heading to items, and their return policy is not as easy as they say it is! Make sure you read the full description! They tell you there is a 10% restocking fee on the phone, but nowhere in their return policy online does it say that! And really, a 10% restocking fee for a small toy store?? I could see if it was a big warehouse, but it's not. They finally "waived" the restocking fee, but not until I argued repeatedly about it. read more

I've used them a couple times to collect action figures however after my last purchase I will do so no longer. They state that they ship all items mint in box but today I received my item with a completely damaged package which is of no worth to me. The box it was shipped it was in fine condition which lend me to believe that they knowingly sent me a damaged item. I sent them an email with a picture of the package and I was told that I could ship the item back to them for an exchange as long as I paid to ship it back. I've been to quite a few comic book stores and I also enjoy participating in card games like magic and yugioh, but when it comes to this store it's horrendous. The store manager is almost never present, and when i participated in their yugioh tournaments, they were totally unorganized, there was no participation packs given, and on top of that they allowed players who were restricted players from the KONAMI restricted players list to participate in their sanctioned tournaments. How KONAMI hasn't found out is beyond me. I recall them allowing a restricted player participate in their OTS tournament and he received prize for winning. The store is poor ran, their cards are overpriced along with their comics and action figures. One of their employees was very rude and was cursing and giving me his attitude. Not only that but he was calling people derogatory names along with performing sexual gestures towards other customers. This store will no longer have my business and I suggest if they want better business that they replace their entire staff. read more

An underhanded thing to do for a child's toy at Christmas: ToyWiz was the 3rd party shipper on a toy from an order I placed on Amazon.com with 3 other toys that Amazon supplied themselves. I ordered on the 12.17, and on the Shipping screen, chose two-day shipping on Amazon toys, and the order area from ToyWiz said it was 3-5 biz days, but if you paid more, it would be delivered in 2 days. Only those two options were available, so I chose to pay for to get it in time for the 19th when I was to give my godson the toys. The confirmation email changed the information, saying that the ToyWiz toy would be delivered anywhere from the 19th - 24th. So I called Amazon, who sent an email to ToyWiz that I wasn't happy that they had me pay expedited shipping on the choices given, for arrival by the 19th, and then the actual delivery could be as late as the 24th, so wanted a refund of the expedited shipping. Never heard from anyone until the 27th - THREE DAYS AFTER they had guaranteed shipping and after Christmas, saying the had cancelled my order. What? Cancelled? Their excuse was the shipping address was not common. It was the same shipping address Amazon shipped to, with a company name, street address, and city/state/zip. Nothing uncommon or odd about it. I feel that they waited until after Christmas to cancel my order just to get back at me for saying I didn't wait to pay 2-day expedited shipping when they said it would take up to 7 days. The sad thing is that my godson lost out on the toy before Christmas due to their meanness. At least I was able to get the toy from a different shipper. Sad that adults would act this way around Christmas. read more
