TP Tea has tasty milk teas. I always try their season drinks as it's something new! I tried another of the Golden Osmanthus series, but the Four Season Osmanthus Ice Tea this time with 30% sweetness. 30% was perfect for this drink because I don't like it when the drinks are overly sweet. The drink was ($5.95) and I added on grass jelly which went great with the drink! Prices for the drinks and toppings are very reasonable. Def give TP Tea a try! read more

I guess everyone had the same idea of getting milk tea on a Saturday afternoon because the wait from ordering to getting a drink was almost 30 minutes! You can see them all working hard behind the counter as well. I got just a normal boba milk tea with 80% sweetness. It was made pretty much the way I like it and they were very generous with the boba. I wish the had an additional modification option when we order so I could say "less boba'. It was good, but felt like it could have been a tad softer and chewier. They also have a decent selection of black sesame drinks, which the husband loves. Overall, solid place for milk tea. Located downtown, so park anywhere on the street. This is my second time coming here to try their tea. The first time was walking to the shop after dinner nearby. We used the touchpad to order our drinks. They were not super busy which was nice. What I love about their drinks is being able to choose the sugar. Options ranges from 0%-120%, and of course we opted for 15% which is perfect for us. Unfortunately, it only allows for one size drink as other places you can choose from a small to a chubby size. The first drink I tried was the Moo! My taro which was good, and the Tie Guan Yin Oolong. This time I tried the Taiwan Classic Milk tea which was yummy. We ordered online for pick up because we figured it would be packed on a Saturday night. They were packed but given some time, they were ready when we arrived. What I also love about these drinks is that you can taste the tea... and I think that's what makes a true milk tea. Definitely coming back to try more when I'm back in town. read more

This afternoon, I went to buy two drinks: one matcha latte with QQ noodles, and the other Tieguanyin milk tea. The menu said Tieguanyin milk tea was a popular drink, so I decided to try something new. To my surprise, it was extremely sweet--like overly sweet. I ordered it with 50% sugar and regular ice, but it tasted like very sweet condensed milk mixed with milk powder. It was a complete disappointment. I strongly don't recommend it to anyone who prefers less sweet drinks. The tea flavor wasn't strong at all; it was just full of milk powder flavor. I ended up dumping the whole drink. At $7.50 per cup, it was such a waste, and I couldn't even take another sip. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give the Tieguanyin milk tea a 1. The other drink, matcha latte with QQ noodles, was also something I wanted to try as a new item, but it didn't taste good either. I don't recommend it. After drinking the matcha latte, my tongue felt like it was coated in powder--there was a heavy powdery texture. I ordered it with 30% sugar and regular ice, and while the sweetness level was fine, the matcha flavor wasn't great. The only thing I liked about it was the QQ noodles. As someone from Taiwan who's had authentic TP Tea in Taiwan, I really think TP Tea in the U.S. tastes terrible. There's definitely room for improvement. For the matcha latte, on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 4, and I won't be buying it again. In the past, I used to order the black tea latte with QQ noodles at 30% sugar and less ice from the San Mateo location, and it tasted good, but I got tired of it and wanted to try something new. Since there was a new store in Millbrae, I thought I'd give the new drinks a try, but I ended up wasting $14. Both drinks were basically terrible! I'll never randomly switch drinks again! Was in the area on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. There were 2 kiosk for ordering. The staffs were working hard behind the counter to fulfill the orders. The place is clean, bright and spacious. There were 3-4 tables with chairs so you can sit down and enjoy your drinks. Parking might be a challenge but if you go around the block you will find a space. So happy they are closing to home. I do t have to go San Mateo now. Will definitely come back. read more

TP Tea is probably my favorite boba shop in the bay area for a good milk tea. Tea flavor is always strong and delicious, but I'm not a huge fan of the non dairy creamer flavor. I really love the Taiwan classic milk tea and of course the TGY milk tea. The qq noodles and boba are soooo good! Highly recommend trying these out if you enjoy milk tea over fruity teas. read more

Staff have really bad attitude. I get that they are busy but zero customer service. We waited to order and the staff rolled her eyes and acted so impatient. When we finally made an order, she got it wrong and walked away. We asked her to correct the order and she argued with us. Came by the TP tea in millbrae to get the BOGO. Seen the positive reviews about the drinks. When i first walked in and saw how busy it was, there were only 2 employees working. I tried to order the Orange Milk Tea but they said they were out of crystal boba. Instead, I wanted to order the orange passion but they said they were out of stock???  Why have a bogo when nothing is in stock????At this point I just ordered a moo my taro instead. Unfortunately, waited possibly half an hr just for the drink to taste sour and disgusting. It seems as if this store is not ran professionally and is making the employees work in such overwhelming conditions. Having a promotion yet short staffed?? I was super stoked to discover that TP Tea opened a spot in Millbrae and it was everything I hoped for! They have an adorable and spacious interior with huge windows that makes the space feel open and inviting. What really stood out to me was that THEY HAVE SEATING. This is game changing for me because the San Mateo location doesn't lol. They are also situated near many restaurants with lots of parking, making it the perfect spot to chill after a meal. I ended my Friday night on a high note with friends, enjoying our favorite drinks and soaking in the relaxing vibes after dinner. It was the perfect way to unwind and wrap up the evening! I ordered my usual Tie Guan Yin, and it tasted noticeably more premium than at other TP Tea locations. It feels like the quality here is better and you can taste the difference. I was honestly shocked by what I saw while waiting for my order. The staff accidentally dropped my waffle onto the front counter table, where it landed right on a used rag. Instead of remaking it, they just picked it up and continued preparing it like nothing happened. On top of that, they were touching the waffle with the same gloves they had used to touch the mop and spray bottle-- no change of gloves, no attempt to keep things clean. Ordered a TGY milk tea without any modifications and it came out 30 minutes later with boba and pudding. Asked for it to be remade and they said it would be another 20 minutes. Ridiculous! They were very clearly understaffed, felt bad for the workers. 3 people rushing between register, drink station, and kitchen. Nah. Millbrae is saturated with terrific Boba places and this is mediocre. Maybe we ordered wrong? But how can you go wrong with an oatmilk matcha latte? Apparently you can go very wrong because after the first two drinks, I passed it on to my husband, who drinks as if he's heading off to a trek in the Sahara. And literally will drink any fluid. Even he didn't drink it. That's a first. They were not slammed on a late Monday afternoon, but even so we couldn't flag any of the four people behind the counter who were busy making drinks. They were working furiously hard, not wasting a second, which is why they're set up for automated screen ordering. I hate this, because a screen could not answer our questions and because we don't speak Japanese, Mandarin, or Taiwanese, we ended up googling some of the terms. Which takes time. Which slows down the ordering process. Which makes others behind us have to wait longer. Which makes them impatient and irritated ... I mean. When we did manage to flag someone to ask our question, she was super friendly and answered. The interior is spartan and clean, the prices reasonably competitive for the area and the brand. They have non-dairy options, which is a plus. And the service, when we could get the attention, was great. But our matcha latte was more oatmilk and not matcha-ey enough, e.g. I've had better at Starbucks for freak's sake. When I go to a specialty drink place, I want a special beverage.
