It's over the kitchen sink, I had to drill 2 palm lifters myself, no idea how anyone opens an Anderson window. Its cheap and a tingy window when you tap on the glass. I hate that window. It's new construction and not easy to just swap it out with another. It's missing the upper grates in the window to match Every single window in the house. Why he didn't listen to the homeowner - who asked for a certain type of window (to match the rest of the house) .. is Beyond me. I honestly wished I never paid him for that window, he should have eaten the cost himself for that. It's been 10 yrs and I detest that window to this day. UGH

We contracted John to build an addition onto our 150 year-old house and to build a new detached…read moregarage. The work included three separate excavations and foundations and also included gutting and renovating an old kitchen. Prior to bringing John onboard, we worked with an architect to design all of the new construction and renovated space. Our architect had worked with John a number of times before so we thought we'd give him a shot at our job. John was easy to work with. His quote was detailed and allowed for us to make changes to better fit our budget. He was helpful with questions we had, like which materials were included and which we had to be responsible for (e.g. electrical, plumbing, insulation). Once we signed the paperwork, John quickly got things moving with the building permit and lining up subs, e.g. masons, and material deliveries. Throughout the project, there was steady progress nearly every day. We were never left wondering if someone was going to show up or not. John was good about communicating schedule updates. He brought in a helper when there was heavy work to do, like framing or installing windows and doors. Other times he worked solo, such as when doing interior trim work. He brought in subs (masons, roofers, drywallers) when it made sense to do so. He also handled a lot of the coordination of trades we were responsible for arranging, such as the sprayfoamers. He kept the work site clean and picked up at the end of each work day. It was a pleasure to see the detail in the work John did, particularly in two respects. First, he was very precise and paid close attention to dimensional accuracy. Things were square and plumb, and the fit of components like doors, windows, and especially trim work, were exceptional. Secondly, he built things strong! Where the building plans left room for interpretation, and where weird situations revealed themselves (not uncommon when marrying new construction to really old houses), John developed solutions that were clearly never going to fail and would last a lifetime. It was apparent that his approach to work was to build in quality and not take shortcuts that could compromise the end result for the customer. The lasting impression we have from working with John is he does very high quality work. He is straightforward to work with and he works very hard. He doesn't do things on the cheap and you get what you pay for with him. He's reliable and a pleasure to work with. We recommend him highly.

We hired this company to paint the trim, door frames, and front door of my house. The owner makes…read morepromises he does not intend to keep. He does not train or supervise his crew. A two day job was left incomplete on the 3rd full day. They brought minor children to the job site the first two days. There is oil based primer on a 60 year old oak threshold. There is primer on my slate floor. They destroyed 5 out of 10 solar lights. While painting the eaves they dripped paint on the roof shingles and the deck. They dripped primer on a runner. None of them knew how to cut in so there is paint on the brick, windows. It's a whole mess. They left a dozen drink containers strewn about the yard. They had to be asked to clean up the paint scrapings. They put a ladder through my screen and it was about the only thing they fixed. I hired this company to give my husband a break after two hard summers of selling my dads house and moving him here from out of state. We work 100 hours a week, have a 7th grader, and take care of my very sick dad. This cost us money we couldn't afford to lose on a job my husband has to complete in some areas and clean up in others. Owner promised Wednesday he would PERSONALLY be here today to supervise the necessary corrections and blew us off. Sent someone else entirely. We begged him to make it right and he treated us like punks.

We hired Cy Pollock to install our Bedroom, Hallway and Bi-Fold closet doors. * Bi-Fold doors were cut leaving a crooked and extra wide gap at the top, and or bottom. (Or hung crooked and leaving crooked large gaps) No trim work whatsoever. Extremely amateurish. * Linen Closet door that will not shut properly. People walking by for the fist time try to close it, which of course they can't. It was hung so crooked, the bottom closes, the top doesn't. * Gouge on the bathroom door, and one of the Bedroom doors. * Hardware installed on the outside doors seems off enough to randomly feel like it's locked until you twist hard. * Cy took off our outer door frame leading outside to the garage and said he forgot his saw and would be back to frame the door. He picked up his check and left. This was a lie because I had to clean up two piles of saw dust in the driveway and in the garage after he left to supposedly get his saw. Cy had his saw the whole time. An obvious lie to stick us with an incomplete and horrible looking job. * Pictures to prove the incomplete, and incompetent work that any future customers will also be facing if you hire Cy Pollock. Advice: If you hire Cy, please hire two contractors. The first (Cy) to do an Incomplete job. A second contractor to fix and repair and complete the job. Found similar reviews on the internet. Will be happy to talk to anyone, if need be, and additional pictures. Looked into it: When a contractor walks off a job and keeps your money without completing the work, it is legally referred to as a "Breach of contract".

No worries and not a drop of water…read more The price was right in the middle of the 3 estimates I got, but I didn't want to go with someone that might not be around in a few years. I finished my basement myself this spring and it worked seamlessly with the waterproofing system. The owner was on site during the install and I didn't have to ask for a manager or get pushed off on someone else when I had questions. I like hiring companies that are established in Rochester and I'm so glad I hired them.

I asked him about digging up on the outside like other companies wanted to do and he said it was a waste of my money and guaranteed there would be no water on my floor with just the inside work he was proposing. I have no water now in my basement and I saved thousands by not digging on the outside when he could have definitely charged me for that!
