I was looking for Scott's seed and to my amazement I was informed that they have seed formulated for our area. Wait ... what? 1st: I've never heard of such. 2nd: Where have you been all of my life (well atleast my adult homeowner life)? I explained to the young lady what my issue was in my yard and purchased the seed she recommended and a bale of hay. The young lady was extremely nice and explained the different variations to me as well prior to purchase. Value: well $3.99/lb was a bit pricey when I can get a 10 pound bag of Scott's for $11.99 at Ace Hardware. I am keeping in mind several things: This is a Mom & Pop shop (support of locally owned businesses), the seeds by Scott's are mass produced (made for any and all areas) and lastly this seed is "supposed" to produced for Indiana (that's got to be good, right). So with all of that being stated of course I'm taking the plunge and if it works I'll definitely be back. I'm really excited about it and hoping to see those bare spots in my yard fill in. Stumped about what to give that hard to buy for relative. Ask the owners for ideas. I did last December and was guided to buy silver topical spray for the oversees military member to spray on his feet and in his boots. Let me tell you the present was quite a hit. (Same spray worked wonders on a hot spot on my Golden Retriever's leg.)

We found a chew treat that I still buy 2 months later cuz it's my dog's fave. Because I bring her shopping there with me when I can, they also know Lizzo Wigglebutt and are always so kind to her. They also offer do-it-yourself dog bathing facilities. Got everything you need, shampoo, nail clippers, towels and a dryer. It's a messy job, but under $20 bucks to use them. I can't forget to mention the food truck in the courtyard. Great coffee. Great sandwiches.

I have supported this place for a long time and shared their statuses and thought they were such an…read moreamazing place until I adopted a puppy and they offered zero solutions and took zero responsibility and the fact that nobody told me even though it was in the paperwork that I did not have reviewed with me before leaving with him that he had Giardia and now my old senior dog at home has caught the Giardia, which is contagious after treatment and getting a negative result from being tested to check for it again, it is contagious for weeks after treatment and they did not tell me that when I took this puppy home and I have the sensitive senior dog at home now that is pooping diarrhea from Giardia and extremely sick just a few days after this puppy getting here. When I insisted that they take responsibility and that they did owe my dog medication for Giardia because nobody disclosed this to me when adopting this puppy they told me that that's my opinion and that I can take him to my own vet or pay at their vet for the treatment even though they kept admitting that this puppy did have Giardia and they were belittling and gaslighting and disrespectful at a time in my life where I am going through a lot, and I have had the patience of a saint, with this puppy, cleaning up his pee every five minutes and taking him outside every five minutes through the night without sleep and trying to train him and now my own dog that I've had for 13 years since the beginning of his life who only weighs 8 pounds is pooping himself to death right now and I have to take him to a vet and pay for treatment for a sickness that I didn't know the dog I was adopting from the league had. They will be rude and they will take zero responsibility. I will 100% admit any time that it's my own fault that I did not sit and look in detail at the paperwork before taking this dog home and the chaos of the adoption. But I will say that the shelter did also admit that they only disclose information on current illness not previous illness if it's been treated. Well, also admitting yes, even if it is contagious after treatment because I asked and the answer I got was yes they will not disclose that if it's already been treated. Be very careful about the details on the pets you adopt because every animal deserves love and every animal deserves a home and and I'm heartbroken to the point of sobbing right now while I'm writing this from sadness and frustration for this poor puppy and my own dog and because my mental health cannot take this right now, and I do not have the financial means to take care of this kind of problem, hardly for my own dog and I'm upset at the fact that at this point for my own health and my child's health and my dog's health that I already had. I have to take this puppy back because of Giardia being contagious for weeks even after being cured and now I have to do even more deep cleaning at home after all of the hard work I've already done cleaning up after him trying to help him get settled in, and my son already fell in love with him, but my son gets sick really easily and my dog gets sick really easily and more I do too so for the sake of my own family's health, I'm taking him back to the shelter and I should've looked into things more and asked about any previous illnesses, but I just thought that the leak for animal welfare was better than that. I'm not giving up on my own dog who could potentially die from this because he's so sensitive to everything and has almost died from previous illnesses. They seemed like really cool people and a really awesome place and it turned out to be very opposite of that. I'm not saying they don't care about animals, but they definitely don't care enough about people. I also wanna make it really clear that I did not yell at them on the phone and all I did was express my feelings and express the fact that they would be upset if they were in my position and someone did this to a dog that they had for 13 years since they were a puppy and wouldn't take responsibility, anyone would be upset in this position. It's wrong and unethical and to hang up on somebody who's legitimately upset, and just begging to be acknowledged as a human and for their own pet that they already had to be cared for instead of being belittled and gaslit, it's all just really devastating

At the Cincinnati-area SPCAs, the dogs are living in absolute filth and squalor, and their health is not being attended to. They are giving them away at shocking, irresponsibly low prices, which I suppose they have to when their vet bills will be...who knows how high. As much as I want to rescue these babies, I don't have the time, energy, or expertise, but Sweet Dream House Rescue does. They are not breed-specific; they rescue dogs of all sizes and ages and get them in good health before adopting them out. The dogs also live with fosters instead of in a kennel, so the rescue organization has a good idea of what their temperament is. While our little guy was still at the end of his recovery from some skin issues when we adopted him, they were very up-front with us about it and provided us with the last of his medication and a contact in case his problems continued, in which case they assured us they would take them to their vet. As it turned out, his skin issues were and remain resolved, but I feel confident that if we had had issues, they would have taken care of him. The other reason we chose Dream House is their foster-to-adopt program. My husband is a musician, so it was important to us to find a dog who didn't mind the various funny loud sounds in our household. This can be kind of hard to predict without experience - even a dog who is ok with sirens and alarms sometimes isn't ok with sustained, strange noises they've never heard before. I reached out to another rescue organization who wasn't particularly understanding about this. Dream House was also very helpful in helping us find a dog who would be okay living in 1-bedroom, downtown apartment - despite what another review said about this, they weren't judgmental at all, but rather genuinely invested in finding the RIGHT dog for us. While their fee is slightly higher than some other organizations in town, you get what you pay for. We were given a full bag of high-quality dog food and treats, heartworm and flea medication, various pet store freebies, and, most importantly, a healthy, happy dog. (An important note: they are no longer cash/check only!)

I started as a foster with PORT in their early days of conception and fostered with them for…read moreseveral months before they decided to completely ghost me. I ran into a situation where I needed some work done at my home, and I could not continue to foster the FOURTEEN foster pets that I had through them at the time. Rather than work with me, help me, and have empathy for my situation, I experienced a lot of pushback, and negative reactions to needing a break from fostering. My phone calls and texts were not being returned. When they were returned, I was met with attitude and a complete lack of understanding or compassion. After much resistance, they finally took the fosters back. They don't supply their fosters with food or supplies as they claim. Not once was I given any supplies for the dozens of animals that I fostered through them, even when I expressed that the puppies I was fostering were going through more food than I could manage. They also don't spay and neuter most of their animals before adoption. Now that I am back in my home, neither Regan, nor Jaime, (the founders of PORT), will return my messages asking about the well-being of my former fosters. If you bend over and break your back for them, you'll be great. But God forbid life happens and you find yourself unable to help, because you then mean NOTHING to them. Proceed with caution should you decide to do any sort of business with PORT. Don't expect a lot of help. Definitely don't expect compassion and empathy when life happens. Edit in response to PORT's reply: Port requires a minimum of 5 days notice for return, except in cases of emergency. I had an emergency. I explained this to you guys over and over and over again and your response was, "that must be tough." I had a dog through you that was being aggressive with a child. But you guys didn't consider a threat to someone's safety an emergency and were of no help. In some cases, I waited more than 5 days for you to help; I waited literally weeks! Not to mention that that dog was pregnant, and when I took her, you never advised me that that was a possibility. So I ended up with eight puppies, when I agreed to one. It was never "clear to you" that our foster relationship had come to its conclusion and that I wished to step away. I quite literally told you that once I was back in my home, I would take the animals back if they still needed placement. I notified you on July 10th that I could not handle all of the puppies. You did not take them until July 18th, and that was only after I showed up to get their shots and microchips, and had to PLEAD with you to help me. I notified both of you that Rusty was a safety risk, and you literally did not care. Even after notifying you of the unsafe circumstances, it took you two days to take her, and that was only after I refused to give you any more leeway. That was also after I had notified you on July 10th that I could not handle all of the animals that I had. You did not take Rusty back until July 31st. I let you know on July 28th that I was having trouble getting the kittens adopted. I notified you on August 4th that we needed to move the kittens. You did not take them until August 15th. As for the spay/neuter, it's irresponsible for a rescue not to spay and neuter before adoption, regardless of any contract. I also asked, several times, about getting my fosters fixed, and you never followed through. Don't gaslight me. You did enough of that when I was actually fostering with you.

While I was browsing throughout the store, everything was in stock from my quick glances. The clearance section was a bit messy with products on the floor leaning against shelves which blocked the items behind it. There was a worker in the area adding more items, but it did not appear that she was organizing the mess. Overall, this is a decent location and the staff appear to be busy stocking. I'd recommend!

When I spoke with someone at the store, they said that once a month, corporate mails out all the rewards they have for that month. Really? Then, you get an email that says "Your free bag is on the way"! (Well, not really on the way because you're given a window of 30 days for it to arrive) 30 days for something to be mailed by a company with 32 locations in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana? When we contacted "corporate" to let them know we hadn't received our certificate, they said they'd send out another free certificate right away. One week later, when we called to find out why we still hadn't received our certificate, we were told they can't just send out another one, as the company they are using can't print out just one certificate at a time, we'd have to wait another month for the next batch of certificates to be printed and mailed. Our expected delivery date: April 13th. Logged onto the system last night and now it's April 24th for the dog food, May 2nd for the cat food. To make it even more confusing, if you buy a large bag for a the price of a small bag, you get credited only for the small bag in your Baker's Dozen Account. So after a while you'll have credit for some small bags, some large bags, and you're that much further away from getting to your 13th free bag. So even though I bought large bags of cat food at a discounted price, I'm only going to be credited for 1 small free bag of cat food. I've talked with other friends who shop there and are having the same exact problem. Sorry Jack's...whoever sold you on the idea of making your customers wait more than a month to receive something "free" based on being diligent, dedicated customers, probably has cost you those same diligent, dedicated customers. Can't you just email a certificate?

It was only a dollar, but that dollar cost them any future business from me, a bad yelp review and I will tell everyone I know not to shop there. I will never set foot in there again. Had to check with hubby first and he gave me the green light as he is the one who drinks it and is also the one who normally doesn't like me to stockpile anything no matter the price. I did not clear them out at once. I went every couple of days to let other shoppers take advantage. Surprisingly, they even carry furniture and outdoor canopies with netting that looks fairly nice. You have to be a regular shopper at their stores, but you may see the same items sit for a rather long time. That doesn't really seem to happen with the food, in general, and shouldn't be a problem for anything else, unless they don't dust. It makes sense to sign up for their rewards card, as they run specials for rewards members, as well as discounts after so many purchases.
