I MISS MY 2BUCK CHUCK!!!!! One of their best items was the great affordable price on the store brand wines. But that's in the past. My good friend would come in from Lubbock, TX to visit and take back a case of 2 BUCK CHUCK wine. But now sadly, its price has gone up - about 50% more. However, there's so many other special items to buy there even without the 2 Buck wine. I really like most of their frozen pizzas and frozen Ethnic foods. Their baked items are very good. The produce always is pretty well maintained. Lots of organic items. I only buy my coffee beans there and grind them there as well. There's so many unique items that I'm kinda addicted to. Too many favorites to list here. I've always found the customers at this location to be very nice. The staff/crew is always very helpful to help you find things and are friendly to customers. Especially at the checkout. Only once did I find a crew person that I did not know how to address to ask a question because of a badge on their shirt that gave their "Pronouns!" So I avoided them and spoke to another. Haven't seen them lately. They're open 7 days a week but I'd recommend avoiding it on Sunday bc of all the parents and kids shopping for school lunches and the week's dinners. Any other time is great. I feel very comfortable in TJs bc it's NOT too big and overwhelming plus I think most prices are reasonable. I only go to the big stores to get the items TJs doesn't carry. Trader Joe's is a special place. Admittedly, my first exposure to the California-based chain was through the (then) infamous Two-Buck Chuck (A.K.A. Charles Shaw). Here are the things I like about TJ's: quality, affordable, and personable. The team is great and they also have some good buys on flowers too. The one thing that can use improvement are the cold cuts. Does that keep me from visiting? Nope. Since we don't have Trader Joe's in Las Cruces, we shop in the Albuquerque locations when we visit our son every 3 or 4 months. We always have a list of things to buy for eating while there as well as items to take home. For that reason we always bring ice coolers for the refrigerated items. My wife and I love their unique items at a decent price. The store is always impeccable but at times the restrooms are not in more locations. In our visit on the evening of April 23, the restroom was disgusting. The restrooms need a good deep cleaning and a proper maintenance during the day. read more

Love my Trader Joe's! This place is my holy grail for most of my groceries. There are so many unique items here that you just won't find anywhere else. I especially love their selections that are lower in sugar and friendly for people managing diabetes or heart disease. The store itself is smaller compared to other grocery chains, but it packs a lot into the space--fresh flowers , fresh salads, veggies, fruits, frozen meals, chips for the Super Bowl, dairy, bread, all kinds of meats, dips, and of course, alcohol. I also buy my treats here since they're unique to Trader Joe's. Fall is my favorite time to shop because the seasonal pumpkin items are back, and it really is the best time of year for us pumpkin lovers! Of the two Trader Joe's in town, this one is my favorite! It is well stoked, there is ALWAYS a captain or crew member around to help you find what you need or look it up for a return date, and they are super up to date on all the trendy items. I go once a week and always stock up for the low. I could go on and on about speciality products they have- but I think they really do well for low priced regular groceries. This store was easy to get to, super clean inside and very friendly staff. We found it well-stocked with freshly baked sourdough wheat bread (and many other choices). The produce department was chock full of great choices from apples to lettuces. I haven't been a fan of TJ's in many years. The meat isn't any good. Even employees don't buy produce there. And I don't trust the dairy. I also don't drink. However, I do like a lot of the snacks. :-) But -- the quality of everything there has been going down. Even the bags of chips have gotten smaller and smaller and SMALLER. Yesterday, for the first time ever, I returned four things. The woman employee who processed my return told me that, instead of returning the stuff, I could have given it away to someone else. We always have a good time shopping at Trader Joe's. We love stopping to smell the flowers by the front doors, and might buy some for home. The produce is arranged in fresh, colorful rows, dazzling the eyes. We picked up some kale and peppers. We looked for some holiday cookies that we enjoyed at Thanksgiving, but they were already out of season. Dang! Should have stocked up! We picked up other items for our dinner tonight (12/31/22), and also bought some wonderful cards at 99¢ each for upcoming birthdays and for a recent death amongst our friends. Gift cards were by the register, and we couldn't resist getting a couple for family, to thank them for hosting us over the holidays. All of the employees were helpful and friendly! read more

Another commenter pointed out how some of the staff are "condescending, unprofessional and mean spirited." She's absolutely right. While most cashiers are cool, one of the guys who has checked me out on three different occasions has outright overtly insulted me. He literally called me a perjorative slur and laughed it off. I almost went full Karen and asked for a manager, but for better or worse I decided to just leave and not say anything. I didn't even do anything either, it seems like he just likes picking on people. I hadn't even opened my mouth or said anything to him yet when he just called me fat (he said it in meaner words than I can't put on Yelp). The last time I came he made an incredibly rude comment about how I "Look weak". I can't belive he'd have the audacity to say this to a customer, but apparently he still hasn't been fired for his behavior and either management doesn't know or just doesn't care. I'm not over exxagerating, he blatantly insulted me out of nowhere on two separate occasions. This guy needs to be fired. read more

I love Trader Joe's, including this eastside location. HOWEVER, Trader Joe's (the corporation, not this location alone) has discontinued the BEST hot chocolate mix: European Sipping Chocolate. They have replaced it with a sad alternative (a Drinking chocolate). I love to buy the Sipping Chocolate in bulk, and now this drinking chocolate went down the sink. How Rude!! As a Vet, I have lived all over the world amongst various humankind. The RACISM was so thick in this store you could cut it with a knife. That doesn't bother me, i'm 65 and pretty much immune to the ignorant at this stage in life. I have a SERVICE DOG, he weighs 4lbs and is trained to provide lifesaving services for/to me. All Disabilities Are Not Visible. He is Well Trained, kept in a carrier and the carrier was in the area of the cart where you usually put your purse, near the handle. This is the best position for him to provide his services to me. My spouse and I had been in the store maybe 10 minutes before we were profiled, followed and approached by "KAREN" , apparently a store employee. We were informed that we were breaking federal law by having my service dog in the cart; she never once made eye contact with me or my spouse during this dressing down while blocking the cart so we could not proceed. I am well aware of the Federal Law addressing Service Dogs and Grocery Store Carts. Service dogs are not allowed in the Carts...........Unless that is the best place for them to provide their Services. Look it up!! I didn't correct the employee, my spouse said I'll carry him and removed the carrier from the cart. The employee just turned and walked away; implying mission accomplished. I did find some healthy alternatives. I found the pricing competitive, the fruits and vegetables fresh, a nice variety of items and a clean environment. Just need wider aisles. Upon checkout we were promptly escorted to our own private register; as not to cause any discomfort to Karen and Ken. We were then questioned about how we found the store. The entire experience was so 1950ish. Will I go again - Yes, Will I recommend to others - Yes. I Love finding places like this and living rent free in someone else's head!!! It's owned by the same people that own Aldis, family owned from Germany. Their company has had a long commitment to organic food and reasonably priced food. I think they have some great values and their fresh squeezed Orange juice and their fresh squeezed grateful juice are outstanding values. They also have fresh pieces of grapefruit that are in water and cane sugar. They have lots of good looking vegetables and fruit. They also have lots of frozen food especially vegetables, potatoes and main dishes other things like French Onion soup, chicken and pork wraps that a person of the person age can use a little bit at a time. They have organic yogurt mill almond milk all the kinds of things you would find with a Whole Foods or a sprouts. They have a great selection of wine as well. It is a complete grocery store. They do a good job of trying to serve people the best way they can and make sure they have plenty of cashiers. read more

So I'm back on the Keto wagon and Trader Joe's saved the day. Baked Cheese Bites are a delicious, crispy treat. Epic Bison Bars and Chomps meat sticks are yummy and super portable. Seeds & Grains Crisp Breads (Norwegian crackers) have low net carbs and are perfect with spreadable cheese wedge (think Laughing Cow or Wee Brie). Zero carb grainy mustard is a must have. Ginger bread coffee is a caffeinated guilt-free holiday in a cup (perhaps I don't get out much). There were cauliflower pizza crusts in the freezer bin, but the net carb count was too high for me. We've been doing a ton of grocery shopping, lately, have you? From Costco to Albertson's to Sprouts to, last weekend, Trader Joe's, I can now firmly assert that we have enough frozen meats, veggies, fruits and unfrozen booze to last a good couple months. And because of this stockpile, we've also been doing quite a lot of eating. Because that's all there really is to do these days, right? Which reminds me, when's the last time I ate, anyway? No, we never stockpiled toilet paper. Priorities, yo. Our last visit to Trader Joe's proved why they should be the model example of a grocery company in the time of COVID-19. They limited the amount of customers in the store, meaning we waited outside the store for about five minutes, as others left, before we were welcomed in by a happy, gloved, talkative employee who also gave us a cart. My entire shopping experience was distanced. And because they had a two-item-per-person policy (this is flexible, they definitely make exceptions) we found some pasta, rice and other staples on the shelves -- imagine! Most impressive, perhaps, is the fact that the company made this standard practice long before the State issued similar restrictions -- they just implemented them because they were sensible. Hence, this will be our Coronapocalypse supply center for months to come. Great cheap wine. Imaginative frozen delights. Unique spices, nuts and dried goods. But probably get your produce somewhere else, unless you're planning to eat it super quicklike. read more

This review is specifically about their wine, beer and a particular 15 year Irish Whisky that I've grown fond of when I have my whisky and ice two or three times a week. I will say that most of their ready to pop in the oven or microwave and eat stuff is pretty hard to beat. Their chocolate croissants are flat out the best I've ever tasted for the price. I've had these in France and Spain and honestly they aren't that much better especially since you can buy TJ's for pennies on the Euro. Back to the booze.... Wine isn't fabulous but it is a good value for day in and day out use. They do have better wines but I rarely go over $15 for a bottle. I bought some Irish beer and a bottle of their Trader Joe's Irish Whisky (by the way, if you notice the bottle spells it Whiskey...that's a misnomer since Whisky is from Ireland and Scotland and Whiskey is from Kentucky and Tennessee (and other places) and Whisky is aged a minimum of 3 years and Whiskey a minimum of 2 years!) For the money, about $34 for the Whisky, I haven't found a better value comparing taste to money spent. Yes you can spend around $65-$75 for a better quality Whisky but not that much better IMO. It was the first Trader Joe's I ever experienced and it always has the nicest staff! The people in the nearby neighborhoods are almost all frequent shoppers so get ready to become familiar with faces if you come often. The layout is very different from the uptown store but it's refreshing in a way. They also tend to have slightly different inventory so it can be fun to try new products out! Trader Joe's might be my kryptonite. I alwaysssssss end up with a few extra things in my basket that weren't on my list. And then there's the samples....they get me just about every time. I would say 9 times out of 10, I end up buying what they're offering. I'm not even sure I could narrow down what some of my favorite Trader Joe's items are, but aside from the fantastic customer service, thoughtful wine assortment, delightful collection of european chocolates and sweets, and the vibrant floral assemblage: 1)The cheese selection - It's like the fort knox of cheese over there. 2) Fabulous produce selection, and the pre-cut butternut squash...can we talk about it? 3) Spinach and artichoke dip...crack. 4) Sriracha waffle cut kettle chips. More crack. 5) Chocolate covered powerberries. Triple crack. 6) The orange chicken. It is not enough that this Trader Joe's location is always busy, but the attitude of some of the cashiers here really sucks! I was in line today with this cashier Tara B. I must waited in line for about 5 minutes, till she finished her conversation with the customer in front of me. not because she was doing a price check, not checking ID for a specific purchase, just chit chatting like I and the people behind me did not even exist. As if that was not enough, she double scanned some items that I had in my cart. If I didn't pay attention, I would've been double charged. Thank you Trader Joe's and Thank you COVID19. I found the Trader Joe's in Uptown Albuquerque. The store was crowded, but I found everything I needed. They have a good selection of vitamins at good prices. They have a flavorful selection of doggy treats. I love their pre-made salads and the produce selection is always fresh. My favorites though were the banana cake with cream cheese icing and carrot cake with cream cheese icing. I could not decide, so I bought them both! Shush! Don't tell anyone! They have a good selection of wines and beers. I mostly chose the ones I buy by the label. I like fun labels. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose, but you never know until you try. 5 stars as usual! Just did my regular TJ's trip and per usual I'm never disappointed. It was time to top off my pantry & fridge with all of my faves & some new things too. I always try something new each time I go. This time it was the super friendly employee Bill England who suggested the Chile onion crunch condiment that I tried immediately when I got home and it was a great suggestion that I also highly recommend. Thanks Bill not only for your suggestion but also for being so friendly and genuine. I truly enjoy every shopping experience at Trader Joe's. Next up on super star customer service and pure rock star status was George, who not only sparked up a conversation but was a glorious friendly sight as he was spilling and carrying some flowers. He sparked up a genuine conversation and asked me if I like tacos and then suggested a supercool boxed taco meal in the meat section. I didn't get it this time only because I was planning to make shrimp tacos. But I most certainly appreciate the VIP customer service and great recommendations. My list of favorites keeps growing! This is TRADER JOE'S!!! You know it's a great store :-) Whenever you shop here, it's almost a given that whatever food you buy will be a healthier choice. While I'm not sure that rule applys to their wine section, I can attest from personal experience that you can find some truly exceptional deals here if you browse their vino selection regularly. The pricing at this location is pretty much the same as all the other TJs I've been to, including the weekly sales. Target should take a lesson from these guys and get with the program ;-) There aren't a lot of better places to shop - are you hungry? Go grab yourself a sandwich, some sushi or a salad. read more
