Dear Management, I typically praise TJ stores for being accessible when you use fragrance-free soap in restrooms. However I noticed recently that the store now has highly scented fragrance diffuse it devices installed. Not only is it counter productive to the reason for using fragrance-free soap, it is actually an ADA access barrier for many, and health concern for one in three people (shoppers and employees). Please consider removing these devices to comply with ADA accessibility. This TJ's is VERY CROWDED. Seems like it has been crowded every time I come here, although it's a little better during weekday mornings around 10-2. I came here around 1pm on a Saturday today and it was very very crowded. The bathroom was a little dirty. I was able to fill up my water bottle at the drinking fountain next to the bathroom. I was able to find every item I was looking for, and I was able to resist the gummy candies next to the register. My cashier was polite and friendly and made pleasant conversation and my bagger was friendly too. My cashier pointed out the location for me of an item that I couldn't find while shopping, which was very helpful. A woman dropped some cash in the produce area and I had to chase her down to give her the cash back. She did not say thank you. Overall, I can see why this TJ's gets so crowded. The food is really good and they have lots of fun stuff. I was even able to purchase some of the mini TJ tote bags here about a month ago. I like this TJ's much better than the other nearby Safeways. I get all my groceries from TJ's and what I can't get at TJ's I get from amazon. The toilet paper at TJ's sucks so I buy it from amazon, and some other things too. Another down side is that I have to park so far away from the store which is a drag. Today at TJ's I was able to purchase: kombucha, goat milk kefir, red bell peppers, hummus, bananas, green tea, irish breakfast tea, and chamomile tea, other stuff too but I won't list everything. I wish this location would give away more samples of food. It's not like they need to improve their business, they have tons of customers, but I think it would be nice to show appreciation for their customers. It's such a nice little bonus to get a free sample. I rarely, rarely see them giving out samples here. They have a sign outside the store saying no emotional support animals and no dogs in the carts. I'm glad they are enforcing that because I think it's disgusting to see a dog in the grocery store. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, and I wish I could have one, but I just don't think the grocery store is an appropriate place for them. read more

After having lunch at the Pruneyard I decided to stop in at Trader Joe's. I don't shop there very often due to the crowded parking situation, but a Yelp friend frequently posts photos of the delicious items she finds there and it made me want to go back. It's a nice size Trader Joe's and wasn't too crowded on a Saturday afternoon. I immediately found the shelves with new items and picked up a bag of yellow curry potato chips I wanted to try. I also got a small bag of Colombian dark chocolate sticks with crispy rice. When I tried both items later they were delicious. The dark chocolate is rich without being too sweet and has a bit of a coffee flavor that I like. The chips are addicting and a little spicy, but not hot enough to stop a heat wimp like me. They had containers of fresh strawberries, which I can never get enough of, so I put one in my basket. Then I headed for the sweet treats. So many to choose from. I grabbed a package of Meyer Lemon Cookie Thins and a little bag of mini chocolate chip cookies. It turned out they both tasted great, especially the lemon cookies, which would be even more delectable dipped in lemon curd. I usually like to look at the frozen food and pre-made sections, but didn't want to buy anything cold today since I had errands to run afterward. I came here today specifically for the 12 days of Beaty advent calendar. This Trader Joe's is located in the Pruneyard. It was really busy inside but luckily they had what I wanted. They had 4 advent calendar's left. I bought two. One for me and one as a gift for my friend. There are 12 different beauty products inside and they are $19.99 a piece. The nicest employees at this location--not sure why, maybe good management:? The parking lot is the most challenging-to-avoid-collision parking lot with small tight spaces, limited in-front parking, small paved road, and two-directional driving. It rivals Costco. It has all the exact stuff every Trader Joe's has in stock. My faves: the organic green juice in a glass bottle, organic Mediterranean salad mix, Green Goddess chilled salad dressing, the Everything Bagel spice, and the frozen pizzas imported from Italy!!!! read more

Also pushed some organic tart red cherry juice, cranberry juice and those delicious mini ice cream cones. Had to get three boxes because they are devoured so quickly. I usually love Trader Joe's. Usually the customer service is so good at the food is absolutely delicious. This location seems to be really busy. I noticed that the workers were so busy getting from one place to another. That friendliness was not the same or consistent with what I've seen at other Trader Joe's. I felt pretty rushed and felt the need to get in and out pretty quickly. Also, there wasn't a lot of answers. I had a question on a specific product and I ended up really answering my own questions. I was a little disappointed and that as well. It is organized very similarly to other Trader Joe's so from that perspective, it was pretty easy to find everything I was looking for or at least find the department. I'll probably be skipping this location in the future and go to other locations. read more

This TJ is located at the Pruneyard and the parking shows it. It is very hard to find a parking spot right away - I usually have to ring around or wait patiently while someone else leaves - or park really far away and hope I don't buy too much to carry back. Because of the parking situation, I tend to avoid this location unless I'm already at the Pruneyard and can just drop in quickly for an item or two. Aisles are stocked and staff are friendly. They have the usual fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh flowers, bread, etc. Not a bad place to shop if you're already in the area. read more

SHOPPERS BEWARE!! This store is notorious for theft and there are no cameras inside!!! Do not leave your purse unattended for a second! There are so many stories on Nextdoor it's insane. My mother-in-law had her wallet stolen right out of her purse by a pair of thieves. It was a woman pretending not to speak English to distract her while someone else came from behind and grabbed her wallet. The store manager Crystal, who is completely incompetent seems to be unaware of these ongoing issues. The next day after this incident happened, she went back to tell the manager about the police report and her response was "okay" That response is unacceptable for a store manager! I ordered some white mums, baby breaths and eucalyptus for my son's baptism. Although I did not receive all of the white mums I wanted I am grateful Ally, the manager called the other stores to see if they carried them. It is not Trader Joe's fault, they warned me they may not get all the same types of white mums I like because shipment comes in a set of various mums, but I am grateful they were able to get me a lot of the flowers I needed for my son's baptism. Great service, I got to keep the buckets for the flowers which saved me time and money to buy buckets from Home Depot. The Trader Joe's at the Pruneyard is one of my favorite Trader Joe's to visit. However I do recommend you go earlier in the morning unless you want to fight for your life for a parking spot lol. Okay I may have exaggerated a tiny bit but parking is pretty tough if you come on a Saturday late afternoon. Anyway this Trader Joe's has magnificent workers who always have the best Vibes and the best service. I really love looking for their mascot every time I come here to see where they have hidden it again. The food is always fresh fresh and what you expect from an affordable top tier grocery store. I feel like this Trader Joe's always gets the hottest new products on the shelves the soonest. I also often buy flowers from here and there's often a nice selection. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon, they were out of multiple items I wanted to buy. Frozen items were randomly left in the aisle, outside of freezer by restocking employees. We encountered the meanest cashier (usually they are super nice) when checking out, he didn't know the difference between different types of sweet potatoes, and acted very annoyed when we pointed out his mistakes. read more

A pretty standard Trader Joe's. Friendly employees happy to help locate something both throughout the store and at the cash registers. Most recently when I was paying and the cashier asked me if I was able to find everything I wanted today, I actually did have something that I had looked for but couldn't find (macaroni pasta). She immediately checked stock for me; when it wasn't in the aisle spot it usually is in, she went to check in the back and was able to find a couple packs for me! Now that is fantastic customer service. The only bad thing I would say about this Trader Joe's is that it is in the Pruneyard, so the parking can be a total nightmare if you come on weekends or during lunch rush. Great! Good selection of items and Trader Joe's is wonderful for shopping on a budget. Today I was in a rush. I stopped in to grab one thing. A check stand was open, so I walked up, but the cashier waived over another shopper who was several check stands away. It was awkward, because the shopper wasn't even done shopping and asked where something was. The cashier proceeded to begin scanning the shoppers items while the shopper went back into the store to find something. First time at this Trader Joe's. It is everything you will expect at a TJ, and items seem well organized and well stocked. Parking can be a bit hectic during lunch time, but that is not TJ's fault. And I didn't get her name but I was in there a week before thanksgiving and grabbed canned cranberry sauce, continued to do my shopping and this worker stopped me and suggested I try their cranberry sauce. Told me if I didn't like it to bring it back. Let me tell you the sauce was a hit and I wish I would have gotten her name to give her her flowers because it was delicious. For the most part I love this Trader Joe's. The produce is always good at least when I have gone. Most staff are friendly. But there is this young lady who works there, and is really rude. I've seen her be rude to other customers and she has been rude to me as well. She looks Hispanic dark hair curly headed girl, kind of heavy built. Next time I go I will be getting her name from her name tag and I will be making a complaint to the manager. Her face even looks bitchy. I'm a huge Trader Joe's fan and although I'm pretty happy with every location around town, this has become my latest default location. I appreciate that it's close to other places I need to go for errands so the convenience is an added bonus. The staff are regularly friendly and helpful. Things are well stocked and you'll usually see staff restocking while you're there so they clearly stay on top of things. Having gone to multiple TJ's in the Bay Area, there are some things that certain stores have that others don't. So if you find they're out of a favorite, check out another location and you'll probably find your item there. read more

This is a good enough Trader Joe's with the same selection as they all have. I loaded up my cart with some fun things for around $150. One thing that detracts from coming here though is location. Trying to find parking in the Pruneyard is hellish. Way too many people and not enough parking spaces. And when you do find a space it's too tight and you risk dinging your car. I used to shop at this TJ when I worked about a mile away. Don't have any negative experiences that I could recall but hey, it's hard to ever have anything bad to say about a Trader Joe's. Over the weekend, the girls and I stopped in for our needs of creating a charcuterie board. As we all know, all the right cheeses, meats, fruit, nuts, etc. are always easy to find at TJ. The store was packed but the staff did a great job at enforcing crowd control, the face covering mandate, and social distancing to the best of their abilities. We spent a whole lot more than we expected but I always say that TJ products have similar quality to their Whole Foods counterpart but for a fraction of the price. Yes, Trader Joes is great. But having this store in The Pruneyard is even better. Lots of parking options, close to restaurants and other small businesses. I love shopping here but what's even better is shopping on a weekday morning - items are fully stocked and less busy. Their store is always pleasantly clean and organized. Check out their new items shelf to see what's new! If you have a little one, ask them to find the store's stuffy. It's usually hiding on top of shelves and let the associate know where they find it and they get a treat! My little one has gotten a lollipop but exchanged for a sticker since she's not into candies. Stock up on your favorite seasonal items and don't sleep on their beauty/personal care items! My fave is their rose spray toner to wear before serums or just to hydrate your face. Their associates are very friendly and helpful. I asked for a certain item and they happily checked their system and informed me of when they plan on getting it in store. This is my favorite Trader Joe's to go to in the Bay Area. I've been to a bunch ranging from Daly City, Burlingame / Millbrae, San Francisco and etc. I have to say the employees here are the friendliest - special little shoutout to Micah and Sara. The layout itself is very easy to identify where things are; the surrounding areas of what you'd need, is exactly where you think it is. It's nice to see all of the produce are well kept and organized: labels facing the same direction, clearly labeled signage and clearly labeled pricing. The aisles are large enough to get by with a cart, even with patrons going opposite ways. The cashier counter tops are cleaned, well organized and cap ends are visually pleasing. read more

My last visit to this TJ's was during peak pandemic - and let me tell you, it was intensely packed with little to no room to social distance! Bear in mind, this location is very intimate, meaning you will be able to shop for all of your needs but it is no where near as large as a Safeway or grocery comparison. The past few times I had come here, I'd get a cart full of their awesome vegan/vegetarian instant meals and pick up something sweet before check out. As a vegetarian for 6 years now, it's been a tough journey navigating flavorful meals, that don't compromise nutrition in any way. Whole Foods used to be my go to, but since discovering how Trader Joe's has even more variety - made them my favorite place for variety in both flavor and options. Before you enter the storefront, you'll see an abundance of carts (super great considering the parking lot is too big to 'search' for a cart) and a variety of foliage! I ended up needing to get cheese and avocados, and since this was close to my place it was the perfect stop. However, after seeing their plant section - I just had to take three new ones home with me! As someone who loves gardening and plants, making the big trip to Home Depot or Lowe's feels mentally draining considering the size of the store. With those stores, I have to be in a certain mindset to tackle the parking lot and choices that come my way there. Which is why it was so nice and convenient to find beautiful plants for amazing prices ($3.99-$20 ; mine averaged at $5.99 each!) and the convenience of being able to buy your groceries too! Trader Joe's is one of the few places that don't have self checkout which is a power move in a technology dominated world - and it works. Having a friendly conversation is so rare with the current circumstances that this maintains a sense of community in these times as well as getting questions answered too. It's also refreshing to see they're more than staffed at this location, meaning you can ask your questions to an associate without interrupting the harmony of the store. It also feels as though the wait time for checkout is significantly shortened, making it time efficient. The produce section always looks so fresh, so major kudos to the quality control team in ensuring no bad bunches hit the shelves by mistake. I'm blown away by the positive experience I had at this store recently, and will make more of an effort to support it in the future. Not to mention, am I just now noticing they have physical newsletters? I took one home from register and found so many great recipes to try next time! read more

Who doesn't love Trader Joe's as a brand. This location however isn't the biggest. The parking lot can be absolute Mayham at times. I usually just park closer to the Bank of America and walk over instead of fighting tooth and nail over a parking spot in front of the store. Trader Joe's that's the bar really high for their stores and this place is no exception. The staff here have always been super helpful and will even look in the back for items that you could not find the storefront that you know exist. read more

However they have free watermelon suckers and great location (Pruneyard). Friendly workers (but that's all Trader Joe's). This is the third time getting my groceries at this Trader Joe's. I usually don't come by to this Bascom location because the parking here is horrendous. A few days ago, I was here to grab a sandwich for lunch (on a weekday), and I decided to get some groceries as well. I have always loved the wide selection of organic and/or gluten-free items at Trader Joe's. Especially during the pandemic, Trader Joe's frozen pre-packaged meals have helped a lot. These tasty meals make eating at home all the time more bearable, giving me a respite from my own cooking.
