Gotta give TJ's the love, but I have to admit, it's lost a little of it's "we're an independant, specialty store that's really DIFFERENT, no REALLY," sheen over the years. The honeymoon is kind of... well.... maybe not over, just a little boring. Good: Lots of specialty items for cheaper than Whole Foods. That earns the three stars. Bad: Evenings and weekends at this location get so crowded that parking just sucks, and the lines can get so bad you can't even get through the aisles. Is it just me, or does the limited selection just get a little old? Yeah, I like a lot of their stuff, and we'll probably continue to shop here once a month or so, but I just don't LOVE it the way I did when TJ's first came to the area. Ugly: They painted the ceiling a horrid light blue color. Ew. Wasn't it natural wood before? Oh well. If you've never shopped at TJs before, go for it. You'll love it. Just don't be too disappoined when ten years later you don't love it quite so much. read more

Trader Joe's where shall i begin? Well the only thing i can't stand is they OPEN at 9 and close at 9. FK....there are no Trader Joe's by my work and it's useless trying to get there and back in time. So that's my only pet peeve. A few of my favorite things from TJ: Organic Cinnamon Spice Oatmeal Dark & Milk Chocolate Covered Almonds Vavanna Yogurt! MMMM Cream Top Milk Tortilla Chips Nitrate Free Turkey Bacon Mozzarella & Salami Packaged together Chocolate Molten Cake Baked Cheese Puffs Those are a few of my fav tasty things to get there. Service and staff....they seem occupied with their duties and leave me alone wandering in the aisles so that's fine. But once I went in after Derby Practice and I was in my derby workout clothes (fishnets, shorts, sport slippers tshirt and a bandana) and I got some funky looks....but no questions. lol read more

In general, I have always had good experiences while shopping at Trader Joe's, but last week was extra special. I was shopping with my mother and inquisitive eight-year-old niece. During a previous shopping trip, my niece asked our cashier, Mickey, numerous questions about his breast cancer awareness bracelet. He was very friendly to her and she remembered, which is why she bugged and bugged to get into his check line during this last trip. When Mickey saw her he told her that he remembered her, much to her delight. Mickey has excellent customer service skills and my mother and I appreciated the patience he had with my niece. I LOVE this place!!! Small enough to get in and get out, great prices!!! i always thought because it was a health place that it would have it's prices marked up like whole foods but it's cheaper than all the others stores including safeway and luckys for veggies and fruit plus other stuff. I love seeing and buying all the beautiful flowers and plants, trying the always new samples they have, and just a great selection of stuff i need. I still stick to safeway for my meat because it's cheaper, or if i need stuff after 9pm, but otherwise i rather be at TJ's =) read more

I really like this Trader Joe's. The cashiers are really friendly and sweet - and the customers always say excuse me. I mean come ON, since when did it become passe to say 'excuse me.' Politeness is not a trend, peoples! :) I've had some iffy experiences with their produce as well. good thing I don't eat much produce. That's what vitamins are for right? ::passing out in malnutrioned daze:: Parking does suck bootay here. I could walk. But no one walks here apparently. Today was a sad day. I LOVE TJ's but today I was so disapointed. Sunday is not the day to shop here. Some things were on the shelves with the expiration date already passed. The frozen desert section was bare. A lot of the selection was bare and I was soooo sad. So...don't shop Sunday I guess was my lesson learned. =( read more

I love this Trader Joe's. I always find my favorite groceries and the customer service is amazing. The day of the Super Bowl I quickly popped in the get some salad ingredients for a party. I was in a bit of a rush...asked for cash back and left in a hurry. I didn't realize that I left without the $20 until later that evening. I called first thing the next morning a little concerned that I would be out of luck. Instead, when I said good morning hello, I left $20 yesterday and the response was yes, we have it! He said the cashier tried to find me in the car park but I was already gone. Wow! That was It! I thanked him, told him my name and said I'll be there tonight at 7pm. This deserves a positive review! I love friendly people!! That makes every experience that much better!! I switched from Safeway to Trader Joe's to save money (yes, it is cheaper and easier to do the Trader Joe's/Costco combo than Target/Safeway!) The food is fresh and nice. You don't have to deal with the check out clerks talking $hit about past shoppers and what food they got!! (Thanks Safeway)Because if I overheard them making fun of my ice cream purchase and how I don't need anymore rolls....I would die. Well, at trader joe's, there is none of that! (That I have ever heard) I also thought parking would be a joke since it is at the Pruneyard, but I have never had any problems there and I go at all hours!! Parking is a little crazy, but I don't have problem with that, cuz I always park on the side near by the gas station. Store is clean, this is my biggest concern when it comes to grocery stores. This TJ meets the standard. The staffs are friendly and helpful. There is always someone to ask if you need help finding something. This store has high traffic, therefore, don't be surprise if things run out of stock. Other than that, TJ is always my favorite grocery store with good price and quality grocery. Bonus: Kids loves this store because they always get a bunch of stickers at the check out stand. read more

My favorite Trader Joe's to shop at. They have the best ready made salad selection. My favorite is the crunchy slaw and the thai noodle with peanut. Also, if you get a chance pick up the curry chicken dinner, It's the best. The store is clean, the staff is friendly, and they have a great selection of bread. Parking is always tough, but worth it especially since the Pruneyard is a nice place to shop at. read more

This is my go-to supermarket! I go at least twice a week usually, and I'm always finding yummy things to try. This Trader Joe's was recently expanded into the old ale Boulanger that sat next door, so it's even better now! Check out lines never take long, and the workers are always friendly and willing to help out. There is usually something for sampling in the back, their flowers are fresh, and I love their greeting cards. Also, if you're looking for a cute succulent to add to your collection, they've got 'em! The only issue with this Trader Joe's is the parking! Its a tight lot, and there are people who constantly turn from the wrong direction to get into the angled spaces, and then take a while to get in because they have to keep correcting their parking job. Other than that, I would recommend it to everyone! read more

This TJ's has gotten under my skin! Why? The attitude! I concede, it's small, crowded and parking can be miserable (it's part of the Pruneyard Shopping Center). BUT, the workers are really friendly and cool. They like to joke to keep the atmosphere light in this crazy whirlwind of a SJ store. This goes a LONG WAY to making it one of my favorites! The music is always great too which somehow makes clawing your way down the aisles after work OK. No, this is not the largest, newest, or mellowest TJ's that I have shopped in recently, but it's the most fun! read more

I need to get bunches of flowers for work every week and I've tried to florist shops. I can spend $30-$60 a week. So I tried Trader Joe's and they have an array of flowers sitting outside and in. I pay half the price and they last for two weeks. One tip when buying frozen product read the ingredients. A lot of the frozen rice pasta dishes I've purchased here. Are too loaded with garlic. You can't even taste the food. read more

In the last 6 to 8 weeks, wine shelves are seriously understocked at mid day. Big gaps in shelf inventory. No sign of anyone acting to restock shelves. Can't be explained by inventory out of stock. If I go to Westgate or Los Gatos, shelves are fully stocked. Needs immediate improvement. read more

The layout of this store is awful in the sense that it's hard to get around with out running into someone. People gather in the large open area making it hard to move around. It's so different from the other ones and parking is a nightmare; the spots are so close together. Otherwise I love trader Joe's haha read more

parking is nightmare but staff is helpful. I do not recommend buying any baked goods or fruit from traders unless you plan to eat right away. Mine tend to go bad after about 4 days. Their assortment of good eats is not as great as the location on coleman in san jose or los gatos off of los gatos blvd. Wish they had more of a frozen food section assortment. Yesterday afternoon around 3pm I made a run for Trader Joes for much needed fresh fruit and wine. I was hoping this time of day would have been less crowded and no lines. Unfortunately, when you have a store as wonderful as TJ's, there is never a good time to go. It was packed, as usual. After waiting 3 people deep in line, I just want to say LANCE, you made my day. I've been a tad under the weather and your smile, great attitude and charm put a smile on my face. Love this store! This time of the year there are so many sweets around at work that I try to avoid them at home. BUT sometimes you just need something, so at Joes they have a great variety of smaller frozen desserts that are a perfect size. You won't have something around for days most of these are 4 or 6 servings - perfect for a girls night in or when guests stop by.The apple tart is very good, so is the Karat Cake, I have a variety flavor cheesecake in the freezer for those just in case times. read more

Have you ever had a craving that you just needed to eat what you are craving or else you would go crazy? Yeah I had one of those recently and they were from the Mushroom Turnovers. These turnovers are hard to find. I went to 5 supermarkets and two other Trader Joe's and didn't have them. Finally I found them here at the Trader Joe's in Campbell. Of course after wasting gas going around town looking for them I decided to call before I needed over there. The gentlemen on the phone was very nice and held 5 boxes for me. All I had to do is go to the service counter and pick them up. I love them so much I bought another 2 boxes. Yes my fridge will be stock with them just in case that craving of Mushrooms comes over me again. Thanks Trader Joe's and I will be back for more of your yummy items. read more

I just got yelled at! The guy behind the counter giving free samples of food got crazy. He pointed his finger and yelled, you can't do that! I was not thinking and super happy because I was able to get a free sample. I reached over and got a chip and he got very upset at me and yelled at me. DUDE im sorry. When I moved out of San Jose in 06, I discovered several things that I missed immensely. You never know how much you'll miss it, till you no longer have it. That covers a gambit of things and emotions but this is about my old friend Joe. When I settled in Austin, I went looking and there was no Joe in site. I inquired thru Yelp and confirmed, I wasn't the only one missing him. I even signed a 'Bring Trader Joe's to Austin Petition '. I don't know the status of this action, now that I've moved again, but again, there's no Joe here either. What do I miss? Organic spinach, smoked salmon, vodka pasta sauce, the best cottage cheese this side of Elsie the cow, raw cashews, peppered cashews, lime cashews, jumbo cashews, and shelled pistachios. I miss the 'taste it, you'll buy it' stand in the back, good prices on bottled wine, including Firestone Riesling, and TJ vodka. I could go on listing things I can't otherwise find here, but I'm just crying in my imaginary wheat beers. read more

Just went shopping at this store and have been disappointed once again. I noticed that one of he grapefruits in the bag was rotten. I showed it to the cashier and someone in a Hawaiian shirt came up with another bag. When I got home and unpacked my groceries the bag of grapefruits had another rotten grapefruit. The cashier packed the grapefruits in my bags. This company just amazes me. read more

I used to love TJs. However, the more extensive my recipes get, the more I realize that Trader Joe's can't accommodate my needs. I love their snacks and juices (especially the Strawberry Banana Orange!), but I've definitely had to limit my visits and focus on a grocery store with more diverse food items. read more

I could spend my entire paycheck here. In fact if they sold clothes here I wouldn't go anywhere else. Walking in you are greeted by friendly staff, and the smell of fresh produce. You can get all the organic fruits and veggies that your heart can desire. In fact I get so many that friends refer to my fridge as the farmer's market. LOL. Moving on from there you can get premium foods and low prices. They offer great selections of meats, seafood's, cheeses, and pastas. They have frozen foods that could pass for freshly prepared meals any day. Try their frozen french toast before a long day of work. A guaranteed morning boost! They also carry a wide selection of micro brews. I suggest trying them all, but hey I'm a beer girl so what can I say. They also offer a lot of local wineries. I know people swear by the two buck chuck, but I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot poll. call me a snob, so be it, but after working at a winery I've learned my stuff and that is not for me. I suggest a lot of the smaller wineries from Napa, Sonoma, and St. Helena. I've been to most of these vineyards through out the year, and you are in for a real treat. I have a love-hate relationship with this Trader Joe's. It is in a shopping mall so the parking is better than most Trader Joe's but it still can get pretty bad. I found it best to go on off times. But the actual Trader Joe's itself is great. Wide Isles, good selection of products and very friendly employees. Also they seem to be really on top of the checkout lines-if it gets crowded they always add another checker. I always come back even though the parking drives me nuts! read more
