Trader Joe's is one of those grocery stores that is not in my current rotation but whenever I visit, but when I leave I realize that I need to visit more. People like to say that they are expensive but I really find them to be comparable to other grocery giants in the area. I was able to get some great items such as bacon ends, everything but the bagel seasoning, Flowers, powered stevia, teeny avocados, grilled cauliflower, dried seaweed, and other odds and ends for the Keto Diet that I am about to attempt. As usually, staff is great. While in the store, staff members asked me if I needed assistance and check out was a breeze. The store was clean and well lit. I didn't see anything out of stock and everything was in order. read more

Great food, great service , great value. I am a huge fan of Trader Joe's stores and this location. Some of my favorite items are their fresh salmon, a various array of frozen meals with lots of flavor for two or more people, their teas, their fruit and vegetable selection and their snacks . Everything here is reasonably priced and of good quality. There are lots of organic, vegan, gluten free, and vegetarian food options here. I can tell they really try to meet everyone's dietary needs here. There are also some natural cleaning supplies, nutrition supplements and wine. They also have an awesome sample set up....ALL DAY LONG. Who doesn't love samples? A store team member is usually posted serving fresh samples ( keeping them warm if need be with a toaster or a hot plate ). They get me every time, usually what they allow you to sample is great , and they will conveniently have it ready for you to grab and Place in you cart . The team is also very nice and ready willing to serve you. Today I stopped in , and could tell they rearranged some items since I had been in their before . The team member was nice enough to literally walk me over to where I needed to be. They are very helpful, but not in an annoying way. When they see more than 3 people lining up at a register, they ring a bell for assistance ( or at least I think that's why). They will bag your groceries for you in brown paper bags . I'm glad I work near this Trader Joe's location. It allows me to stop in after work and grab some stuff on the commute home. The TJ stores aren't too large in size, but I always seem to find new things every time I go here. The store is always super clean, and you always see someone pulling inventory from the shelves to make sure everything is fresh and good to buy. Sometimes the lines get a bit long, but they move pretty quickly and the cashiers always strike up a decent conversation with you either about products or just asking how the day is going. The parking lot here can be a bit of a zoo sometimes, but it is well worth navigating the lot and risking head on collisions with crazy (*insert expletive here) drivers that don't know what they are doing in a parking lot and always "have someplace to be". read more

I love Trader Joe's. Maybe 5 stars is a little overkill but I have yet to be disappointed by their organic offerings. I didn't give them much consideration in my university years considering I was usually quite broke and settled on a steady ramen diet. Lately TJ's has been reintroduced to me through my interactions with folks that focus a lot more on food quality, organics and what's better for the body. It's great to see these off-name brands which I've never heard about and don't give the comfort of having been raised on them as a staple in my diet. And even better, these things taste good. They're not all so different from what I'm used to. Back through the late summer I was baking up pizza homemade style like crazy with the ridiculously cheap bags of raw dough they sell here. They've got wheat and white and occasionally the herb-licious dough which is to die for. Frankly I could just bake and eat the dough all day long. And at no more than $1.50 per bag it's well worth it. In the fall I was quite taken with their pumpkin items. The pumpkin in a can bakes up just as well as the Libby's we all know so well. Or, if you're just a stickler for your 2-buck Chuck (now 3-bucks) you know where to find it. Trader Joe's even factors the slow and simple life into their check out registers. When a cashier needs a bagger they ring a bell. No flashy light shows. And the atmosphere is really just totally chill. read more

Trader Joe's is my new favorite spot. Before patronizing this place for some reason I thought this place was expensive but it is very affordable. I actually picked up some items to try for the very first time. One was a baked apple strudel that you pop in the microwave for about 90 seconds. OMG it was so delicious. I will definitely put this place on my list of grocery stores to shop. First I'd like to say I'm a 19 ur old African American student and I was purchasing a watermelon.I went with my friend and the cashier white male he talked to her had a full convo full positive energy with her but when it came to me he barely spoke or introduced himself then he asked me if I was going to eat my watermelon in the car or when I got home and started laughing very loudly. This is fully inexcusable. Not to mad about it Bc he working at Trader Joe's and I'm getting paid 25 a hour to sit and do nothing but still. This Trader Joe's is right at the Arbor Hills subdivision and University Research Park. I love almost everything they sell! The frozen croissants and pain au chocolat are the closest to those they sell in France. The fruits and veggies are cheaper than other supermarkets and all the packaged foods don't have the high-fructose corn syrup or trans-fats. I don't like their shopping carts as I've seen them fall many times or just go along on their own. Also not a big fan of the yogurts they sell. If you're a "first-timer" they will sound the bells for you and if Ollie is there, she might do the welcome dance. read more

Am a big fan of Trader Joe's and only wish there was one closer to Huntersville. We generally hit this location although I sometimes head to the Uptown one before leaving work for home. I really enjoy many of their pre-packaged meals. The Mandarin Orange Chicken is good, much cheaper and just as good as what you would get at many Chinese restaurants. Other favorites are the French Onion soup and Carmelized Onion Dip. With the dip, I recommend buying two because one will not last you long enough! We ran out Friday night and I'm feeling compelled to make the drive again today. We also buy a bunch of the frozen fish items to have in the freezer for a quick blackened mahi or seared tuna steak dinner. While obviously not fresh, have found the taste to be pretty good once prepared. Open one in Huntersville and you get 6 stars (at least in my mind)! read more

Shopping at Trader Joe's always makes me happy! This is our original one, which is tucked away in a nice shopping center. Trader Joe's is consistent - the quality, staff, & prices mimic the Metropolitan location downtown. Like Annie said, shopping is indeed fun here. Bright & inviting, signage is welcoming & employees are friendly. And the prices...I do so well here! I can have a basket / cart full of stuff & walk out spending less than $50. read more

Love this location because the staff is TOPS! Extremely friendly, conversational, and in love with all of the TJ products. I know this because a few of them have told me so. I've gotten most of my recommendations from the in-store staff. I have to say the best times to visit this location are on Friday nights (I mean, who doesn't want to spend their Friday evening browsing the aisles of Trader Joe's?!), Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Much less parking lot and aisle congestion. I don't recommend the sushi or prepared meals here but I do encourage you to stock up on fresh flowers, the awesome snack aisle, and take home a bottle (or three) from their wine section. If you are wine clueless, they have people who will literally break it all down from grapes to region if you need help choosing a bottle. read more

This location is clean and aside from the folks that tend to congregate around the cheeses and dried fruit areas,(MOVE IT!)it's much easier to navigate thru inside and out in comparison to Midtown. I love that their flowers are inexpensive but they are always out or low on the eucalyptus. That's my only negative though. I'll continue to shop here. read more

I LOOOOOOOVE Trader Joe's. From the super friendly/helpful staff to the limited but unique options, it's hard to go wrong with TJ. It's my favorite grocery store especially for unique healthy items. I usually go for the same vegetables because they are so much cheaper than they are at Harris Teeter. My favorite items to purchase are wine, frozen rainbow cauliflower, frozen beets, quinoa and black bean potato chips and the sprouted grain pizza crust. If you're into healthy eating and want to find organic/nonGMO items, definitely go to trader Joe's. My only gripe with this particular location is the parking. I plan my trips here specifically during times when the foot traffic for the area is low because finding parking in the parking deck can be annoying. read more

I make an effort to come here as early as possible to score one of the parking spaces right by the door. Even if I have to go in on my most dislike night to visit the grocery store (Friday, Saturday evening) I can be parked and inside pretty quickly if I grab the first spot I see anywhere in the lot. This store is closer to home than the one in Uptown, so I'm here much more often. I rarely have a problem finding my staples plus a new food time to try out. The workers are friendly, cashiers quick and chatty. Other than occasionally going over budget and getting carried away (personal problem) I never leave here aggravated unlike other grocery stores. I only wish they had a few more bread selections, like the take and bake rolls I've seen up north but maybe not enough customers are interested. read more

Although the staff can be uncomfortably and annoyingly friendly, I love Trader Joe's. I can find food here that I don't find anywhere else. I purchase from their pre-made meals often and have never had anything that I did not like (e.g. stuffed peppers, salads, wraps). There have been a couple of instances when I had issues with freshness of the foo. For instance, I once got home with tub of hummus only to discover it had mold in it and another occasions had muffins that molded a day later, despite the expiration date stating otherwise. In these instances the store has never given me a hard time about refunding or exchanging the item. It can be quite busy here, but the manager(s) seems to be mindful and do not hesitate to pull staff from the sales floor to the registers to thin the lines out. There are times that I got to the register and thought it would be hell, based on the long lines, but ended up waiting hardly no time at all. Sage, Caleb and Ashley all have welcoming personalities, high energy and smiles to match. During the pandemic it's hard to stay positive, but these three showed great customer service. Caleb who brought me garlic after mentioning to my husband "don't let me forget the garlic" looked up and Caleb brought me three different kinds of garlic to choose from. Ashely at the cheese dept recommended some awesome new cheese that TJ just got in with a smile and energy to match her helpfulness ,and to top it all off Sage at checkout was a burst of energy with great suggestions and convo!! mostly thrilled to shop here (unless they (a) run out of your favorite items: once was the japanese style fried rice or (b) switch up another fab product: they used to have a coconut creamer DELISH, but then I found they changed it to coconut-almond one, I gave it a try ...it was awful (too sweet). if you go early in the morning you'll have the place mostly to yourself. staffers are friendly (special shout outs to Ms. Ollie usually at the 1st register & to Shannon Moore for always offering positive vibes, with a bit of small talk - great energy). the guys over by the wine section too are helpful (even though they don't carry my favorite Stella Rosa berry - at least the carry Joseph Handler riesling). in almost a year I've only had two "less than great" experiences. one was last year when the manager (Jenn) did nothing to ask two women who had their masks hanging around their necks to please put them on while their shopping. the other negative vibes I got were today from Alyssa (tall slender woman with shoulder length hair at one of the center registers). I stepped away to pick up flowers as a last minute thought and left my cart (since there was a customer already ahead of me getting her items rung up). didn't know that my items would be rung up before I was ready (no biggie), I returned looking for my cart & that's when A. pointed out that she had my stuff ready. the interaction started out pleasant enough (how are you? the usually morning greetings).....then I commented that I had my own bags, to which she replies "sorry" (her demeanour changed when I followed up with "that's ok, we can just re-pack in my bags" A. goes - "where are your bags?" (not, "oh, sure where are they?" not "yea, hey we can do that"). i placed my orange bag (there were 2 others inside of it) on top of one of my paper bagged groceries (nearest to where A. was standing). at that point another colleague came over to the counter area where they usually pack your bags. A. threw my orange bag over on the counter area. the colleague greeted me (she was cordial enough), asking me how I was doing. when I commented "I was doing great until just now when she threw the bag...I guess she doesn't like that I preferred my items repacked. long story short - I give 5 stars for all the other TJ's crewmembers who know what customer service looks like. will I continue to shop here? hell ya!! just will avoid cashier chick, A. with her negative energy read more

I'm not sure how bell peppers can cost so much less here than they do everywhere else, but they do! And for that, I am here often for fresh vegetables and fruit. I also love their mashed cauliflower and cauliflower rice, orange chicken and the vegetable birds nests. Everyone who works there is just plain nice! They always offer small-talk and it always appears to be sincere. But what I think I love THE MOST and keeps me in there longer than necessary...THE MUSIC! Have I been on the planet for a while? Yes. First time coming to this location. It's the least busiest of all the Trader Joe's so if you're trying to get in and out faster I would come to this location. Especially due to COVID the lines are usually wrapped around the building. There isn't as much inventory as the other Trader Joe's but the gem about this place is this cashier named Drew. He had an open line, asked us if we were ready and welcomed is over to check out. This kid's parents should be proud cause they raised a really bright, kind, and caring kid. You can tell Drew has great work ethic and although we only interacted with him, if this staff was based off of his customer service, I would say it's impeccable. read more

What's good fellow Yelpers! Unlike the Trader Joe's in uptown Charlotte, I actually like this location! It's easy to find a parking space, there are less boujee & less obviously racist customers, and more friendly cashiers with the exception of Michael, the cashier I had... no smile, I had to greet him, very dry, no customer service whatsoever.... don't know if he was a butt-hole or a racist, but he was not a team player! Anywho, they have alot of goodies that my children love so I stock up when I go! They also have alot of variety on things you can't find elsewhere, and have reasonable prices, and they also have beautiful flowers at reasonable prices. Check them out! They are near alot of retail shops, good food spots, and a gas station, you could easily make a day out of it! read more

I love this Trader Joe's! Today, I had an extra wonderful experience with the cashier, Ollie. She is warm, friendly, and an excellent greeter who truly made sure she spoke to every customer who walked through the door. She also happened to be my cashier today. As I was checking out, I saw my friend and we began to have a conversation about my upcoming birthday weekend. Much to my surprise, Ollie handed me a bouquet of flowers after overhearing my comment. Well, now that I have some go to products and have had to opportunity to come across some great flowers and good deals, I have seen the light and am proud to up Trader Joe's to 4 starts. I don't know if it's through training or what, but the cashiers at Trader Joe's make the most meaningful small talk. It doesn't seem forced or awkward. I love Trader Joe's. I LOVE Trader Joe's. I love talking about Trader Joe's. So much so, in fact, that when I get on a roll, my husband has been known to utter, "Honey, you're getting the cult face again." Now, I grew up and lived until fairly recently in southern California, where TJ's is headquartered. and where most of the country's stores are located, so I was very relieved that they opened this one right before I moved. I'm not sure I could have handled a cross-country move AND no TJ's (I kid... sorta). There is nowhere that can compete with the variety of healthy or just plain interesting foods that you can find here for the amazing prices that they have! I regularly find things for HALF of what you'd buy them for at Harris Teeter (let alone Earth Fare). It's not so big that I'm in there all day, but they have a good selection of many things. They don't carry everything, so I still do have to shop at a regular store, but I make my TJ's a regular part of my routine. Some favorite items: Tomato basil hummus (they have a LOT of hummus varieties, including a 4-pack) Smokey black bean dip (I like to use this as a spread inside a turkey or veggie wrap) Frozen roasted corn (so nice to add to a chicken tortilla soup or roasted veggie enchiladas, etc) Corn salsa (SO good) Cherry preserves 21-seasoning salute (a spice blend. GREAT prices for spices. Look, I'm a poet!) Frozen cubes of basil, garlic, and cilantro. (Grab 2 of the basil ones and pop them into a carton of the tomato soup for a fabulous flavor boost.) The whole cheese section deserves its own mention. The prices allow you to stock "fancy" cheeses or try something totally new (my 8yo recently insisted on trying a green pesto Gouda) without breaking the bank. There are so many other items I could mention, but I'm sitting here getting the "cult face" again, lol. read more

Greeted with a smile. Customer service here is always great. Very clean atmosphere. Freshly stocked fruits and veggies. Bathrooms are clean deodorizer. I love to sample the food and wine. There is always someone there to ask questions regarding a wine selection. Honestly, Trader Joe's is just the supermarkets of all supermarkets and their unique selection of food items with daily low prices has helped make this college student happy. I love just going in and browsing to see what I can find, and pick up whatever looks good! Favorite, go-to items: -sweet potato fries -kung pao chicken w/ riced cauliflower -their own brand of ice cream cookie sandwiches (your life will never be the same & you will become addicted) -chocolate, chocolate, chocolate (cold brew coffee chocolate bar is amazing) -organic sweet corn!! -acai puree packets -their dried fruit is pretty awesome too -oh yeah can't forget their CHUNKY GUAC, (I finally like guacamole now because of it) -Spindrift (lemon sparkling water) -organic tortilla chips (surfboard style) -& anything in their Trader Giotto's section (Italian) is sooooo good also, their employees are super nice, engaging, & friendly! read more

Let me preface this by saying that I love all Trader Joe's. I do. It's a wonderful store. It supports local farmers, is an equal opportunity employer, and has more than fair prices. Great chain. That said, this particular location is the best one I have ever been to. The customer service is out of this world. Every time I turned around someone was offering to help me, asking how my day was, etc. It may have something to do with that wonderful southern hospitality that I miss in California, but still. High five to your staff. Finally, when I returned home I noticed two items were missing from bags. They were on the receipt, so I called the store. The manager, Carson, was so sweet and apologetic, and when I went back into the store they looked at my receipt and replaced the missing items. No muss no fuss, and they completely apologized. Never the less if you live close to this Grocery you are out of your mind if you do not shop here. with a bakery next door that has recently opened it is a ideal location for not only the TJ's but, the bakery as well. Great Produce and great products in general with their store brand being of top quality do not take my word for it try the place . Sure its a 80 mile drive for me so when ever I am in the area I stop by. Beats the Hell out of that nasty Place Food Lion that makes their home near where I live read more

I adore Trader Joe's, but this one feels off. Uptown, the employees and the other customers feel like my neighbors. They always have something to say, whether its a helpful tip to simple small talk. But that's not so out here. The employees aren't standoffish or anything, but the whole vibe of the place is a little less welcoming. I don't feel like I am part of the city, just a hungry guy scavenging for food. Maybe that's just how people are in the University area. The Trader Joe's chain is my all-time favorite grocery store, and this particular location is no let-down. If you are unfamiliar with Trader Joe's, do yourself a favor and VISIT NOW!! This place is reasonably priced and all the food is both delicious and healthy. My favorite part? Free samples! Always available and useful because you can try new products without having to purchase them first. Another great things about Trader Joe's is their wine selection. I have pretty much stopped buying wine anywhere OTHER than TJ's, because it is so cheap for the quality. My favorite is the Santa Barbara Chardonnay for $3.99/bottle. That's right. $3.99. Even cheaper is the legendary "Two Buck Chuck," assorted reds and whites by Charles Shaw for $2.99. Other food favorites: -Laughing Cow cheese is VERY low calorie at 35 calories per wedge. Trader Joe's exclusively carries the Bleu Cheese variety. -Pimento cheese spread is not very healthy but is very tasty. -Cheese crunchy things are like Cheetos but not as fattening. Very tasty. Can you tell I like cheese? -Low calorie and delicious frozen Soba noodles. -Assorted hummus. -Great deals on frozen fish, easily thawed and grilled. And much more. Go explore for yourself! So, let me get this out of the way first, "This place is frickin great!" I've known about Trader Joe's for years as they were all over the Chicagoland area but never started shopping there until several months ago after being in Charlotte for a little over a year. I was going to Petco right next door to get some dog food for my little guy and remembered that I needed to buy some adult beverages for a dinner party I was going to later that evening. One of my friends told me that TJ's had a great wine selection so I decided to check it out and guess what, she wasn't lying. I'm far from being a wine connoisseur so I appreciated the little cards that described the flavors of the wine and the perfect pairing. I ended up getting 2 bottles of wine for about $12. What'd you say girl? You heard me 2 bottles, $12! Since then TJ's has been my go to grocery store especially since their products are predominately organic and chock full of natural ingredients. Even though it's relatively small in comparison to other grocers don't let the size fool you. You can find everything you need from fresh produce, meats, frozen foods, snacks, household cleaning and hygiene products to the extensive wine selection. Aside from everything that you can find in the store the prices are really reasonable (Dare I say... cheap?) and the staff always seems so upbeat and happy-go-lucky. I love it! Definitely drop in next time you're near a TJ's. I promise you won't be disappointed and you definitely won't walk out empty handed. read more

I love when places go out of their way to make chores seem fun... that's what Trader Joes does for me. Trying not to sound like the complete dork I am, but TJ's completely makes me rethink how grocery stores are supposed to be. I don't even know where to begin! The huge sunflowers that I can usually pick up for under 6 bucks is always a favorite treat! I was first turned on to TJ's for its 'famous' two buck chuck, but the store and staff have so much more to offer. I can usually buy most of my food at TJ's and spend less money than lovely Wally world. Everything from their stocked produce and interesting frozen foods and how could I forget the awesome sauces and marinades. I love the selection and lack of selection at the same time, I really don't need or want 45 different types of peanut butter to choose from! Some of my fav TJ finds: 1. Wine 2. Sunflowers 3. This is my favorite Trader Joe's location in Charlotte. The parking is (usually) a breeze, the store is nice & roomy and the people who work here seem especially friendly. Although, I think Trader Joe's employees are just a friendly bunch in general. I love making a lunch break trip or stopping on my way home from work at this location.
