I like the place, the selection in non foods isnt very large though. they are into environmental issues which is ok, and most of the shoppers i saw appeared to be enviro hippy type or yupsters. however the food is pretty good for the price, and i saw a LOT of people buying wine. the wine has a *disproportionate* amount of space in the store almost looking like a liquor store actually. I was rather stunned when I saw it. Hard to say who is drinking what, since chico is drinking town USA-- but is that enviromentally good? Just because it is wine and not beer or hard liquor, doesnt necessarily mean it is better. they should probably move the overwhelmingly large liquor section more toward the back instead of right in the front. This company allows a man to continue to work there who has had multiple complaints of sexual harassment! Yet just recently fired a 17 year long employee who stood between a known offender and a child! The next week they fired another long term and dedicated employee because she stood up for the man who protected the child! Management: argue you this! Go ahead and I'll start spewing more details! I've shopped here for years and thought it to be the best store in town! Now, I'm ashamed of you and disgusted by these repulsive actions and non actions! Manager is a TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING who assaulted us for grabbing a grocery cart at the exit door.. I am immune compromised and must disinfect the grocery cart before entering the store. Unfortunately I never made it that far due to the exposure from the manager, breaking covid guidelines and screaming at us for being at the wrong door even though we were not yet entering We are Paradise Fire Survivors and were given gift cards for Trader Joe's and after his total inappropriate behavior to two disabled citizens will never step foot in another Trader Joe's. TJ's is pretty cool. They have great coffee and meat and beer to boot. I'd avoid the prodce though; its cheap but unless you use it quick, it'll go bad. I got some limes to make chia with and they went bad in two days. TWO DAYS, people. Also, I know that Chico used to have a major drinking issue; probably still does. But damnit, its against my Constitutional Rights not to have access to inexpensive hard alcohol. In SF at TJ's, you can get decent whiskey for $12 a bottle! Sigh.... read more

Trader Joe's Chico has handled the Corona situation better than any store I know in a 100 miles radius! The staff is consistently friendly and they take the sanitary situation very serious. Disinfected cards, grocery stacking with gloves and no employees with attitude problems. Management also keeps Nitwits without masks consequently out of the store. ThanksGuys! read more

Sometimes they are out of the things we love but when not everything is mass produced GMO crops, you might run out of corn due to a bad crop. and that's ok! read more

The employees at Trader Joes in Chico are great. Everyone is friendly and do their best to make sure I find everything I am looking for.
